Wildstar blinked as a small cat literally bumped into him. "Oh, Wrenlight! Just the cat I was looking for. While I'd love to see the newest additions to our Clan, no, currently I wish to let Featherflight rest. I was hoping you could provide me with some insight, however." The large tabby-striped ginger tom chuckled nervously, ear flicking. His bright green eyes wandered from the tiny medicine cat to their surroundings, then back to Wrenlight.
Featherflight looked down at her kits, smiling proudly. "Aren't they just lovely Thistletail? My little miracles..." She purred, her tail wrapped firmly but gently around the tiny, suckling forms of fur.
Eaglesight shook his head slowly. "That, young Deputy, I do not know. While I knew Nightflame well enough, I do not know the tendencies of StarClan cats." He sighed, closing his yellow eyes with sadness and slightly bowing his creamy head.

"They're brilliant. Snowclan is lucky to have them healthy." Thistletail smiled at his sister, looking at her kits. He assured with a nod. "And I am here for you and them when you need me."
Owlshadow nodded, finding herself to be a decent investigator. She'd have to ask around more. She dipped her head. "Well, thank you both anyway for the information. It's...perplexing, to why my own grandfather might be trying to contact us, especially so long after his death." She unknowingly believed the dark warrior had died in the cave in years ago.

Featherflight smiled at her brother, purring deeply. "Thank you, brother... It means everything to me for you to help me like this. I don't know how I could do it alone." She laughed quietly, breathily, sapphire eyes dancing. "Wrenlight will help too, but she's always so busy, dear one."
--
Eaglesight glanced back at Ivybounce, uncertainty lingering in his faded golden eyes. "I'm not sure, though I am sure it is important, otherwise he would not turn up here and now." The eldest tom pointed out, his meow raspy but wise with his seasons.

Thistletail nodded with a chuckle, turning to gaze out of the nursery. He sighed. "Let's hope the newleaf brings good prey."
Owlshadow nodded slowly, before she sat down again and mewed somberly. "Father hardly spoke of his parents...I've learned of them only through senior warriors...I never understood why..."

Rain followed the line of the nod and saw the entrance of the camp after a little looking. "Oh great." She inhaled deeply finding her nonchalance within herself. As long as she was not viewed as a threat she would be safe. And she had Smoke, he would protect her if the need should arise...hopefully. She shot one more glance at the massive tom. He looked as grumpy as ever and ready to do whatever it took to get through this time.
--- Wrenlight's eyes moved around while she racked her brain for what Wildstar might need help with. "Um, okay?" she mewed, the tiny cat went around her leader and started walking to her den. "Let's go back to my den and talk about it."

Blackfire padded into camp, leading the patrol in, much to Emberstorm's relief. The tom breathed. "Good! There you all are, for a moment I-..."
He cut off with a deep glare and bristled. "Who are these cats?"

"First we must hope that they survive Lead-Bare." Featherflight pointed out grimly, curling her tail protectively around her newborn kits once more. She looked down at them, her black and white pelt prickling with worry.
Eaglesight shook his head sadly. "Your father... Pinefoot was very hurt by the loss of his parents and sister. He doesn't take it well, and bringing them up only hurts himself more, so he avoids mentioning them altogether." The older tom explained raspily, glancing at Ivybounce for support.
Wildstar followed his first cousin once removed the tiny she-cat back to her den, spiky tail swishing behind him. As soon as they entered the secrecy of the medicine cat den, he spoke, bright green eyes swimming with questions. "Has StarClan sent you any dreams recently?" The large ginger tom asked, urgency underlacing his tone.
Dreampool spoke up. "They're rogues who we found crossing the border. They have requested to speak to Wildstar." She announced, her blue and white fur fluffed slightly.

Thistletail bristled at the activity outside, quickly standing to guard his sister and the nursery. "Careful, sister. Rouges..."
Ivybounce nodded quickly. "There was no other family for him left. He had lost them all, and as a kit none the less. Pinefoot...he blames himself, even if it couldn't have possibly changed." She shook her head sadly.
Owlshadow opened her mouth, only to turn her head quickly. She looked at the elders and apologized. "I must go see what's happening. I apologize."
Emberstorm did not look very convinced, but a quick look from Pinefoot had him flattening his fur and stepping back. He glanced at his sister, who padded up to Dreampool and the patrol. She looked at Rain and Smoke and then at the patrol.
"Surely the patrol wouldn't have brought these cats if they deemed them dangerous. Blackfire, Dapplewing, Dreampool, father, you all ger some rest. I'll escort them to Wildstar." Owlshadow nodded.

Featherflight's sapphire eyes narrowed at her brother mentioning strange cats. "Rogues? In our Camp? How many? Who brought them?" She questioned hastily, wishing more than anything she could get up and check herself. But her kitting had left her extremely weak, and her kits needed her to curl around them still.
Eaglesight dipped his head, and at the mention of rogues, he stood up, joints creaking. "I wonder what rogues are doing here, love." He mused aloud, eyes meeting Ivybounce's. He stretched out his long legs, once so well muscled, now frail and shaky.
Dreampool dipped her head, and trotted off towards the fresh-kill pile to grab something to split with Swansong, wherever the StarClan her sister was.
Dapplewing darted off to the warriors' den, to collapse in his nest and curl into himself to hide fomr his own anxieties.

"Two, it seems. Owlshadow seems to be taking them to Wildstar." Thistletail reported, making sure his sister was safe just in case.
"No idea! The patrol must have found them." Ivybounce exclaimed, her grey muzzle twitching with interest.
Swansong was snoring loudly in her nest, a white ball of fur spilling from the nest, a large cat compared to most.
Mothcloud and Falconsoar shared a look, before the she-cat padded up to Dapplewing, exclaiming. "What happened out there?"

Rain had held her breath for the duration of their second encounter of Snowclan cats. Though she wasn't exactly scared, a tiny bit of uneasy had widdled it's way into her mind. She felt the eyes of multiple cats burning into her fur. Rain unconsciously stepped closer to Smoke. She didn't want to add to the conversation yet. The cat that came to take them to their leader, Owlshadow, was probably the deputy by the way the other cats listened to her. Rain dipped her head to Owlshadow, "Thank you, we don't want any trouble."
--
Wrenlight tilted her head to the side. "Dream? Oh like the one where the whole camp burns down?" She waited to see his expression and then laughed. "I'm kidding. I'm kidding. But I haven't had anything recently. Perhaps Starclan will tell me about it when I go to visit them again." Her ears flicked forward and she looked around at the entrance. She dismissed the noise for the moment. "What was the dream?"

"There will be no trouble so long as you both desire no harm." Owlshadow nodded with curt civility. She waved her tail, turning to lead the rouges towards the leader's den.

Wildstar, from his position inside the medicine cat den, heard the commotion behind him, and grew worried. Was something wrong with the new kits? "If I didn't have so much weight on my shoulders right now, I would have laughed at your joke." The young leader smiled kindly at the tiny medicine cat. "However, in all seriousness," a term he stole from his mentor, "the dream is of a black cat, with blazing eyes. He's trying to speak to us, but we can't hear anything he says." The large ginger tabby tom explained, uncertainty in his bright green eyes.
Dreampool followed into the warriors' den, and prodded her sister with an impatient white paw. "Wake up, I brought us a crow to share." She meowed sourly, frowning.
Dapplewing looked up at his siblings, fur fluffed in surprise. "Oh, we just found some rogues. And Pinefoot and Dreampool squabbled. It just made me uncomfortable." He meowed, calmer now that his siblings had joined him.

“Hm...were you able to walk toward him? Or listen harder?” She sat down to help her focus. “I can’t really say much about it if you weren’t able to hear what the cat spoke. Did you recognize them?” Wrenlight asked questions as she thought of them, trying to help herself understand as well as Wildstar.
—- Rain only responded with a nod and followed after the other cat. Smoke kept stride beside her. Though they weren’t close she was glad for his company in this new place.

Wildstar shook his head, twitching his whiskers with anxiety. "No, it was as if my paws were stones. And I strained as hard as possible to no avail." He, too, sat down, mimicking Wrenlight's behavior, but also so he wouldn't feel so much larger than her than he already did. "I think it may have been Nightflame? Hawkstar always told me he had fiery eyes. And I know Blackthistle's eyes were like me. They are the only black cats I could think of." He wondered, tail tip flicking in thought.

Wrenlight nodded absently, thinking. "It could be one of them. Can you imagine anything they'd be trying to tell you?" The small she-cat's tail flicked while she spoke. "Sometimes they try to remind us of things from the past and relate them to things that are coming..." Wrenlight shook her head, "I'm sorry, I'm not being very helpful, this sign hasn't been sent to me yet..."

"That's alright, Wrenlight. I haven't been given any other clues, either, therefore I am left in the dark on this. Hopefully, more dreams will come soon." The young leader sighed, this knowledge of the unknown a heavy burden on his strong chest. "You will tell me if you have such dreams?" The tone was a question, although the sentence might have sounded more like a command, had he the boldness to state it as such.

"Wildstar" Owlshadow called calmly into the medicine den after finding the location of her leader. She kept close to Smoke and Rain, making sure her clanmates didn't get hostile. She called in. "The patrol found two traveling cats. They wish to hold meeting with you." She offered.

Wildstar blinked, and hurriedly stood up to face his deputy. Quickly, he dipped his head in thanks to Wrenlight before he looked outside and murmured "Thank you, Owlshadow." Seeing the cats accumulating, he took a deep breath, and flexed his shoulders to ease his nerves. Exhaling, he trotted forwards, ears perked, eyes alert, and spiky-furred tail raised high. The large ginger tabby tom's youthful muscles rippled faintly under his long, angled coat, and his bright green eyes gleamed. He looked out at the two visiting cats, an around-average-sized pale grey splotched she-cat, and... an absolutely massive dark grey tom. Inwardly, the newly-made leader's heart sank at the sight of this cat. He's like, twice my size! His mind screeched in despair. But he had to be calm and collected. He was the leader now.
"Greetings, travelers. I am Wildstar, Leader of SnowClan." He announced himself, almost calling himself 'Wildfire,' and shocked to hear his own voice reference himself as leader for the first time. But the young tom's meow was strong, and confident. "Announce yourselves, and state your business you have with us."

Wrenlight's ears flicked back in mild dismay. Travelers! She follwed behind Wildstar and peeked out of her den.
---
Rain needed no more calming breaths. When the leader stood before him she was confident. She dipped her head respectfully before introducing herself. "I'm Rain--" she longed to speak the suffix of her name. And with a sweep of her fluffy tail, she gestured to her companion. "And this is Smoke." The giant cat nodded respectfully to the leader of this clan. "We've come a long way. From moors far beyond the reaches of this territory and the next." And this is where Rain didn't quite know what to say. "We..." She looked up at Smoke for reassurance and he nodded again. "We don't really know why we are here...We know about clan cats." A lot about clan cats. Every clan was different but similar in many ways. "But you're the first ones we have been around for many moons." the tabby she-cat looked around at the gathered cats then turned Her clear blue eyes locked with the leader's "We know you don't have any reason to let us, but...we would like to stay with you. For a little while. We can do any job you need to be done, hunting, building, patrolling, fighting." She didn't waver in her words. "We ask sanctuary tonight and would ask for your answer by sunrise tomorrow. And if your choice is that we need to leave. Then we will be gone and far beyond the reaches of your territory by sunhigh." Rain knew her request was large, and she could feel the eyes on her. They wouldn't want them here, but...she and Smoke were weary of being alone.

Wildstar blinked, once, slightly shocked at what the she-cat called Rain had requested. The young tom had expected something more ludicrous, such as 'help us eradicate a threat to our home,' or 'help us reclaim our territory.' The large ginger tabby tom flicked an off-black ear, his bright green eyes thoughtful. "I will admit I am somewhat surprised by your request. Nonetheless, as long as you obey our laws, respect my Clan and its members, and assist in your fair share of the duties. These are reasonable conditions if you expect to share our shelter, food and protection, no?" The newly-made leader reasoned, swishing his heavily striped tail ever so slightly as he raised an eyebrow.

Owlshadow listened silently from outside, not letting any emotion show. She was neither happy nor bothered at the loners desiring to join their clan. In fact, more numbers could be useful. But Owlshadow was not a cat to give her trust easily.
Mothcloud rolled her eyes as Falconsoar snorted with a flash of teeth. "Dreampool and Pinefoot are both too pessimistic for their own good. They'd fight with everyone. That's not your fault, you got it brother?" He assured Dapplewing with a protective nudge.
Swansong lifted her head, fur ruffled and unkempt as she looked at Dreampool and grinned sleepily. "Awww. You brought me prey after my long day of patching the dens? You kind thing."

Dapplewing nodded, uncurling himself at this notion. In reality, he was just glad their pointless arguments had stopped. No one could bring back the dead, and tragedies happen. It was life.
Dreampool chuckled, humor in her silvery eyes. "But of course. I've had a tiring day, too. I figured it would be nice for us to share." She explained, setting the crow in between them and laying opposite her snowy sister.

Mothcloud shook her head with an airy scoff. "Whatever. They're old bone bags anyway. You'll be stronger and faster than them anyway." She was a rather rough cat, not one to care for the high reverance the older cats got.
Swansong groomed her fur lazily, looking at her sister and huffing with knowing humor. "What happened this time?"

It was Rain's turn to blink. She was surprised he went with it so easily. She had asked to live here, with his warriors in his home. To be another mouth to feed as the cold leafbare settled in. After a moment she mewed, "Well of course. These cats do all those things, don't they? We will do what they do." She gestured to the ones around her with a sweep of her tail. "Smoke and I will do all those things. If you decide to accept we will be as useful as any other warrior here." She bowed her head, "Our loyalty will be passed to you and this clan." Beside her Smoke dipped his head slightly to the leader, his agreement to Rain's words.

Dapplewing smiled, grateful for his sister and her fierce attitude. She always supported him in his anxieties, and did what she could to brighten his day. Be it sharing tongues, telling a tale, reassuring him in his actions, or talking down an opposer. Mothcloud was like his security blanket - soft and warm on the underside, but prickly and cold on the top.
Dreampool sighed. "Pinefoot and I got to arguing again. I swear to StarClan, that overly proud, self-righteous tom will be the death of me!" The blue-grey and white she-cat exclaimed, anger in her silvery eyes.
Wildstar chuckled slightly, his long whiskers twitching with amusement. Half of rogues would have no intention of assisting or adopting in Clan life, the fact that these cats were more than willing came as a pleasant surprise to the new leader. "Wonderful. We can get you accustomed right away, then." His green eyes glittered as he swept his tail down to the ground, it's bristly ends swishing up little puffs of the thin layer of fresh snow. "I assume you're both hungry. Do eat up and rest for a while - Owlshadow," he dipped his head towards her, standing nearby, "is my deputy - she will decide which patrols you partake in today, once you're settled." The large ginger tabby tom declared.

Mothcloud gave a grin of her own, before she swished her tail and snarked. "I bet you were the only one on the patrol doing his job anyway."
Swansong blinked at her sister, a heavy sigh falling from her lips as she inquired carefully. "Dreampool...it's been moons now. You two were the best of friends, even before your breif time together...yet you two still jibe at eachother's throats. Don't you think it's time to mend your wounds?"
Owlshadow dipped her head quickly as she was addressed.

Dapplewing smiled slightly, a laugh hidden in his eyes. "Blackfire was, but besides her, probably." He joked, swishing his fluffy tail slightly.
Dreampool's eyes narrowed, a fire in their silver pools. "My wounds reopen every time I see his kits. And now one of them is Deputy!" She hissed, though her voice was low. Her words were full of malice, though her eyes radiated hurt. "It's not their fault, for what he did to me, or even Dawnfire's, yet I still resent them. Pinefoot much greater, however. Why couldn't he have thought about his feelings before he asked me to be his?"
Wildstar beckoned her over after he dismissed the rest of the cats, and began to pad off to the side of the camp, away from the bustle of other Clan members.

"Well, at least you had a sane cat at your side then." Falconsoar cut in with a booming laugh.
Swansong rested her thick tail on her sister's shoulders. She herself had been spiteful of the tom that had broken her sister's heart. But she knew her sister had changed from this, and desired peace for Dreampool. She mewed out. "Love is strange, and a mess. It's why I don't want it. I can't understand your feelings, I've never been attracted to anyone and don't plan to be, but I'm still here for you no matter what. You both were younger, both still stung from the collapse. Perhaps he believed he did love you because you were close to him. But, suppose he had loved Dawnfire and stayed with you? Would...you have wanted him to stay if he truly loved her? Oh Dreampool. You are smart and strong and so brave. You will find a cat destined for you, but...I just want you happy again."
Owlshadow silently followed her leader, amber eyes flashing with thoughtful calmness.

"Yes, otherwise I would have lost it." Dapplewing chuckled at his brother's animated emotions.
Dreampool sighed, and rested her head on top of her white paws. "None of it is fair, Swansong. Though I suppose I'm far too old for this type of behavior." She meowed bitterly, not having yet taken a bite of their bird. "Sometimes I wish it were as easy for me not to love as it is you. No foolish tom has ever broken your heart, besides maybe Father." She complained.
Once they were away from most chatter, Wildstar sat down. "Do you have anything to say about my decision earlier?" He asked, getting straight to the point. His tone was flat, but not in an unamused way, rather, in a serious, honest way.
