I am mostly Italian, with some Irish, and a few s drops of German via "Pennsylvania Dutch or more accurately Pennsylvania Deutch!" through my maternal grand mom.

Hubby has the 1/8th Welch. I have maybe 1/16th German, and 3/16ths Irish and the rest is Italian.

But the birds are out year round at the feeders. In big snwostorms we sometimes have 20 cardinals in the yard. I just hate this summer heart and humidity and I can't wait for fall! Doing ok but lurking a lot. With all the rain this summer the yard is turning into a jungle, and getting hard to keep under control! Usually August is our "dry" season where hubby even gets a break from mowing the lawn!

Sending good luck to escape the heat! Lurking is valid. <3
Over here it's just pretty much fires. I haven't been able to go outside for about two months. Too much smoke.

I think Fall is actually here. Crisp cool morning and a touch of color in the trees. My Apple trees are right on schedule but the other trees are late!
Still kickin' but been busy. Hoping with winter, I can get back to my writing.

Still kicking! Haven't had a lot of spare time lately to write. But makes me very happy I wrote the NEW BLOOD stories when I did. 2014 seems like yesterday but was 7 years ago-- time is passing so fast yet I am slowing down, so it seems life is going 100 miles an hour. I hope you all are still enjoying the stories that are finished.Eentually I will finish this last one!

Still here and can't believe its Feb already. They announced the winners of the contest and I didn't win anything but that's ok. Very short tales are not my forte LOL. But it is sort of connected with NEW BLOOD so since everything has been announced I am posting it for your enjoyment. Let me know what you think!
TIME THIEF Cool winds cut into Brightpaw’s pelt and she shivered. The rising sun sent gold rays through the bare trees, promising warmth. She trotted toward Snakerocks, with Whitestorm, Longtail and Swiftpaw. Behind them, Yellowfang huffed.
“So, you saw a giant intruder?”
“Yes,” Brightpaw retorted, then lowered her voice in respect. “He smelled like Thunder Clan.”
“Impossible,” Yellowfang snorted.
“Quiet,” Whitestorm hissed. The patrol silenced, and glided ahead on wet ground. Snakerocks appeared, bathed in early morning light. Whitestorm flicked his tail, and everyone froze. Brightpaw quivered, but stayed still.
“There,” she mewed in a whisper, pointing at a crevice in one huge boulder.
In silence, they waited, hearing nothing but the wind. Brightpaw fidgeted. The sun touched the top of Snakerocks, and a huge golden brown tabby tom slipped out of the crevice, carrying a twoleg metal pot in his massive jaws. He headed straight for the crop of precious herbs. The tom lifted his head, his long pelt shimmering in a patch of sun, and with enormous tufted paws, dug up several herbs and placed them, muddy rootball and all, in the pot.
Whitestorm and Longtail hissed.
“Attack?” Brightpaw asked.
“Yes!” Whitestorm plunged forward, and Brightpaw followed, fear rattling inside her chest. That cat looked so powerful.
“Get away from our herbs!” Whitestorm yowled, The brown tabby turned amber eyes to them, and bristled.
“I don’t want to hurt you.” His pelt rose, and tail bushed out to incredible size.
“Stop!” Yellowfang yowled, halting the charge.
“Yellowfang,” the brown tabby tom mewed, flicking one tall, tufted ear. “StarClan mentor. I’m Gentleoak, Medicine cat of ThunderClan.”
“You lie,” Whitestorm hissed.
“I don’t,” Gentleoak purred. “In my time, illness and severe Leaf Bare ravaged our herb crops.”
“Your time?” Brightpaw yowled in unison with her Clanmates. She glanced at Yellowfang, who wore a look of astonishment, mingled with deep subconscious recognition.
“Mousedung,” Yellowfang swore. “StarClan allows you to take our herbs? We need them too.”
“I’m sorry,” Gentleoak meowed. “We Maine Coons still fulfil our destiny. I take herbs only from times of plenty, but I’ve made a mistake.”
“Great StarClan,” Yellowfang wheezed. “Maine Coons! Whispering to me visions of a distant future.”
“Yes.” The tom’s imposing size sent ripples of apprehension down Brightpaw’s spine.
“Let him go.” Yellowfang sat down.
“What?” Whitestrm snarled. Longtail lashed his tail.
“I won’t be back,” Gentleoak meowed. “You must keep this secret.”
The breeze carried his scent to them.
“Agreed.” Yellowfang capitulated.
The massive tom picked up the pot, nodded to Yellowfang, and plunged into the crevice, vanishing in a shower of sparks. Brightpaw gaped.
“What’s a Maine Coon?” Swiftpaw asked, eyes round.
“A breed of cat,” Yellowfang snapped.
“What do we tell Bluestar?” Whitestorm asked, his anger gone.
“Rogues robbed our herbs, and we drove them off,” Yellowfang growled, eyes blazing like twin suns. “Agreed?”
“Yes,” Whitestorm agreed, and they trotted back to camp. This secret must be kept, but Brightpaw wondered what might happen if it got out.
