OoC :: I am, but unfortunately I don't have enough room for her on it. Sorry ;^;
Hmm. We could use him or possibly Silas, as Silas is somewhat aware of the labs, or more in particular the original labs. Which the reasoning why I'm still building on. Kinda Cat ad Jules? But that's just because they were some of the people who found the original lab in the Cage, but technically Jules knows who Silas is...
Katelyn is a scientist roleplayed by the person who created this roleplay. She befriended Madeline and got Maddy to trust her before drugging her/knocking her out and helped make her part deer as well. They originally bonded over lattes, but then, that happened and Maddy really, really distrusts her. Also, Katelyn let her know about Maddy's parents and how they even got Maddy in the first place.
IC :: "Well, technically the Cage, but the issue with that is it is really far and not somewhere fun to explore...." Madeline paused for a moment to recall the creatures she had seen there- and named herself. The Acus Cat, porcupine and jaguar, and the freaking scary Pistris- flamingos with goat horns and shark teeth with the uncanny ability to scare the living hell out of people. "It's where the original lab was found I believe, by a whole bunch of hybrids there- but like I said, way too far to do anything with it." Madeline frowned to herself as her voice got quieter and quieter.
--
"I'm probably going to get a plain burger and some fries with cheese on the side. And a vanilla shake," Dorothy hummed out. She started moving forward waiting for it to be their turn. Once it finally once, she immediately started to talk, naming the trio's orders, starting with hers. Then she moved onto Boston's, "Also, a cheeseburger, some fries, and another vanilla shake. And finally, some chicken nuggets, side of fries and an oreo shake. That will be all," she gave a sweet smile to the woman at the counter before giving her the money.

IC Once she had ordered for them all, Boston Waldo smiled at the person in front of them, hoping that somehow helped. It was silly, since he knew people here were a lot more accepting of hybrids than say, Detroit...trust him, he should know. But sometimes, in situations like this, he just became increasingly aware that other than Dorothy and himself, there were no other hybrids in the food court. He wanted to come off as friendly.

IC Boston Waldo followed her, trying to copy her as he leaned against the counter. However the silence really only lasted a few seconds before he broke it. "Hey Dorothy. Do you ever feel weird...being a hybrid? There's really not a lot of us, and I know this city has more than most but it still isn't a lot...does that ever bother you?" He questioned, glancing over at her.

IC :: Her eyes opened in small curiosity as she looked over to the cat friend. She begun to answer, "Of course I do. The only reason this city has so many hybrids is because it's tolerant because this is where most of them stay. It's a weird cycle- but... I suppose that's not even fully it. It bothers me a lot because I never knew my parents- I don't even know if they are alive.... I was supposed to be human- not part animal, and some people give me dirty looks still because of it. There isn't a lot of us because only 650 hybrids were made. 650 of us left the labs and that isn't a huge number. A lot of them have left this city and started traveling the world. People judge us for something we didn't choose.... If there was a hybrid who never felt weird being a hybrid, I would think they were insane."

IC Boston Waldo listened intently. He hadn't thought about it that way, from the perspective of a first generation hybrid. It changed a few things. His ears bent back and he looked away, dark green eyes scanning the not exactly clean, but not disgustingly messy floor. "Oh. See, I grew up in Detroit, and that wasn't a good place to begin with, it didn't help that I was the only hybrid for the next....well, lots of cities. I was homeschooled because no school would take me, I felt like a flamingo in a herd of swan. Guess I never realized that you guys have it harder in different ways. At least I knew both my parents, and I never had the chance to be human in the first place."

IC :: "The world is harsh against hybrids. You second gens deal with your own set of problems, being born a hybrid rather than created. Some of you are luckier than others- I've seen a guy shapeshift on the streets before, and the girl with him- a human girl- could still outrun him. I think they were siblings, but I never talked with them. Then there are second gens like you, who seeme to be just like first gens, but only born. Just be glad you don't have to spend your life wondering what type of life you could have had if you weren't taken and placed into a lab only to be experimented and shunned for what you became there."
She took a moment to pause with a frown. "Some hybrids..." Dorothy paused again, deciding whether it was a good idea to tell Boston, "I've met a hybrid who has had a surprising amount of success though. It's strange. He's done business with so many people and nobody cares he is a hybrid, it's strange to see. I think there are a few others like that as well, where they became successful even though they became something people hated. It's weird...."

IC "Like Uncle Kai," Boston Waldo related. "He's famous. He and my dad have tried to explain how it worked so well for them, but I still don't quite understand. People...they don't like hybrids, because we're so different. But for the exact same reasons so many other hybrids are hated, Kai is adored. I never really understood why humans could be so...ugh, what was that word Uncle Norman used? Hippo...Hippo something. He was basically calling them hippos but it meant they judged one hybrid for the same reason they loved another...or something like that," he tried to explain. Usually, he did pretty good at coming off as a thirteen year old, which he was...but sometimes it became rather obvious that he hadn't even had a whole years worth of experiences yet.

IC :: "Hypocritical? But, he's right then. They like the people with potential. Your uncle- he must have some sort of charm for him to have gotten famous. Matthew- er- the hybrid I know, he is really charismatic, can sweet talk people into getting what he wants for a fair deal. It's- it's irritating when you know someone like that and-" Dorothy closed her eyes in slightly anger, her voice wavering, "And they turn around and look at you- a polar bear hybrid- a cat hybrid- a turtle, a duck, anything.... And they decide you're not good enough because you don't have the qualifications they want to see. And then they wonder why some hybrids get caught up in crimes when they don't let people get proper jobs- and they make a living off of those crimes, until the police and humans decide they don't like it."

IC "I stole once," Boston Waldo said, sounding rather serious. "I was originally just going to take the medicine...mom was sick, they refused to give her what she needed because of me, so I stole it...and any money I could, because we needed it, and they refused to help us at all, just because of me, because I was a hybrid," he kicked his foot slightly. "I know it's not anything huge, like the stories I've heard from Ives. But it made me really upset back then, because mom never did anything wrong, she had a great life before I came along. It's...it's just fair for all these hybrids," he said with a frown.

IC :: Dorothy gave a sort of amused snort. "Didn't know you had it in you kitty, to steal. But it was for a noble cause I suppose." she paused as the number was called out, two trays. Dorothy grabbed one and left Boston to get the other as she started to move away before continuing. "I've stolen too, not for any noble cause, but it's how I make a living. It's why I'm still alive. Everyone I live with has too- minus Nic, but he's an --s and has been to jail countless times, so I don't know if it counts or not even though he's human. I was tortured in the labs, I almost froze to death one time when they were trying to see how cold a polar bear hybrid could get.... They ignored my pain and placed me in a room where it got way colder than a polar bear could handle. I was 6 or 7 then, they didn't have us keep track of birthdays. And when I finally escaped, I had to hide from the world because I was a monster. The government forced us to come out of hiding, and voila. Scorned and shunned, after all the pain I went through to survive, I don't get a say in life. It sucks. I barely know any hybrids who have a stable life. A stable, good, happy life."

IC Boston Waldo grabbed the second tray and started to follow her, however once she began to explain what she had to deal with during her time in the labs, he froze up, tightening his grip on the tray. No one had ever told him what the hybrids had to go through while in the labs. He had known they turned them into hybrids, but beyond that, nothing. His eyes began to water and he adjusted his hold on the tray so he could wipe at his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Dorothy. That...that sounds horrible."

IC :: "I didn't even go through the worst. I saw others from my section. They went through so much worse- I often saw a few of them pulled away from the others and put into separate rooms. I knew a kid in a different block, he was 9- so a little older than me, but he was a lizard hybrid. One of those ones where you could pull its tail off and it'd regrow. I never saw his tail, the one he was supposed to have. He didn't speak about what happened, but it was obvious- because they didn't just pick off his tail every time. Actually, the only time I saw his tail was when he died, we were passing by the room he was in- I caught a glimpse through the window in there.... Others probably went through similar things. The only good things about being a hybrid is that we are stronger and faster and better than humans. The scientists who put us through all of that wouldn't have survived like we did." Dorothy spoke quietly, recalling the people she had seen throughout her time there. She escaped earlier because she hated it there- almosted die getting out, but she didn't have to freeze again after that. The cold didn't bother her at all anymore now.

OOC:(Back!
It's fine, I don't mind.
Ah okay! Whichever one you wanna use is fine by me! I was only suggestion him cause I need to flesh out my other characters and it would have been a good time to have Sammy find out about him being a scientist.
Oh! Ah man scientists are just horrible people...most of the time. That does explain why I've never heard of her though, that's way before I returned to the rp.XD)IC: Maverick tilted his head as he looked at her. "I've never heard of the cage before..." he said quietly. When she explained though he nodded. His mother had never mentioned the Cage before. He would probably ask her about it when...if he saw her again. "If it's far away, wouldn't that be good? I mean wouldn't you go somewhere like that if you're hiding away to experiment?" He asked. Well, he would go there at least if he was doing that. What if it was a dead end though? but the other hand what if it wasn't, and it actually helped to go there? It was just a gamble.

IC Now he was actually crying. Shoot. Boston Waldo rubbed at his eyes with his one free hand. He thought he had had it hard, being an absolute social outcast, living in a world where he was mocked and ridiculed from birth, among other things. But he was wrong and he was not ready to handle this. He couldn't even have comprehended everything they had been through. "That's terrible..." He mumbled, voice cracking a little.

OoC :: Hey, if it helps you development of him then heck yeah! Plus, there is already a connection to him them with Maverick so it works a lot smoother.
Yeah, they are. She was reluctant to do so though at least, but still. Madeline has developed a deep distrust of her now basically.
IC :: "Oh gods, that place is severely abandoned last I heard- it's been driven underground basically and it was almost empty. There was obviously a lab there, however it was destroyed inside. People were living in there- uh, I've personally decided to call them original hybrids. The first ones created. But.... I think they died.... They were afraid of something in the Cage, which I'm guessing was the feles wolves- but... yeah." Madeline looked down. It was abandoned two years ago. The labs she had been created at had closed down just a month or two before then. So it was unlikely somebody would go and reset everything up there when other dangerous creatures still roamed. Plus, the entire thing was so far away, it would have been pointless coming to City 1 to get feles wolves-...

OoC :: yeah... I'm going to come up with a name for him, and draw him up probably with Dorothy. But I feel bad, cause the hybrids have been through bad things that so many people are unaware of.
IC :: Dorothy looked to Boston concerned. "Hey, don't cry. You don't need to cry. We survived, we are still surviving. With bitterness and a grudge against humans, but we are surviving. Those of us who didn't, they should be glad they didn't because life wouldn't have gotten better. You're here and I'm here, two hybrids that have survived in completely different circumstances, but we are surviving. And like hell I am going to let anything like what happened there happen to others I care about- you and Antoine. I suffered through it, and I'm not letting a sweet kid like you go through it or that bubbly human either."

IC Boston Waldo sniffed, still crying a little. "I can't help it. It's all so sad and I didn't realize that that all happened...dad and my uncles never told me about the labs, and I didn't know, I didn't know you went through all that," he explained, trying his best not to just start sobbing. Crying was pathetic enough. He was a little sensitive and stuff like this made him upset. He hadn't ever been able to handle much. "I'm sorry, I'm trying to stop crying but it's all just so sad..." Boston Waldo said, shaking his head a little.
