"My apologies." Munei says. "I do it to keep alert of my surroundings. What I did, I always had to be on alert in case something bad happens. If you wish, I could stop."

"I suppose there's no harm in doing so, but I believe we are quite safe in here," was the butler's response. He then turned around and pulled out a book at random. He flipped through the first few pages before putting it back and looking to a different shelf.

"I don't let my guard down, even for a second." Munei says, grabbing a book. "I'm really unsteady in this environment. I feel like something is watching."

Jakob looked at Munei over his shoulder, yet another book in hand. "Is that so?" he asked. He looked around the room and at the ceiling and frowned slightly. "I haven't felt like that so far."
Gotta poof for dinner, brb]]

"Maybe it's just me." Munei says. "It just seems that way, since this place is very open."

"Well, if there is someone watching they better enjoy themselves," said the blix. "Because we haven't even done anything interesting yet."

Jakob snorted. "This is true," he said, flipping through a book. It was a collection of short stories, though they were all fiction and after scanning over a couple he put it back.

Kuragehime (Don't fall for it Medicine Seller. His master plan is to appear nice. xD And he's not too shabby at it.) "Wonder what?" asked the yokai, bored. He wished the Nue was here. The Medicine Seller was probably wrong. Though Kasha had no idea what mononoke he had encountered, in his world he was considered a very dangerous creature to mess with. But he often only had one goal and target at a time. In this case, the yokai called the Nue. Kasha, in between baiting him, became bored and would often find...entertainment elsewhere. -- "The hottest and sunniest place in the USA? Highly doubt it," said Myrnin. "Of course, there was an alternate purpose to that as well. Our natural enemy used to be able to travel using rain and other water sources. We chose Morganville as a defense against them as well." The vampire considered her explanation and nodded. "I see. And what about daemons? How do they fit into your world?" mintedstar/fur🦇 : xD]] Medicine Seller has also fought a Nue xD]] The Medicine Seller shook his head. "Just a passing thought," he said. "Where do you come from, yokai?" he asked, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. He presumed Japan, but wanted to hear the yokai answer for himself. Sorry it's short >_<]] ~~~ "Daemons? They force themselves in rather then fit. I don't know the specifics but they started appearing a long time ago. A plague spread that turns people into daemons and eats up the sunlight, and we're stuck in the final stages of it right now," Aranea explained. "Niflheim was growing them as supersoldiers until their precious little pets stopped listening to orders. Now the rest of us are... dealing with it." Kuragehime(Really? xD How'd that work out?) "Why ask if you already know the answer?" wondered the spirit. He waved a hand around. "Here. There. Momochi House, Japan is the closest you'll get, I suppose." He was still wondering about that 'passing thought'. -- "That...does seem like a problem," admitted Myrnin, looking away. Sounded like a tough life, but he'd expected that sort of answer. He sighed and tried to think of another subject. Suddenly, he grimaced. Okay, he didn't need that sort of subject. That wasn't a good thought at all. He hoped it didn't show to plainly on his face...

Munei looked through the book in his hands, flipping the pages and looking at anything that stood out to him. Most of the books told of gods and wars among them.

Vanessa started shifting through the file cabinet. She pulled at the second from the bottom cabinet and grinned as it didn't give under her fingers. "Hey, if something is locked, that means it has important information in it, right? Anyone good at lock picking?"

"Must be, if they keep it locked." Munei says, pulling his hunting knife. "Here, let me try. I'm not that great at lock picking, but it'll do, right?"

The blix had a feeling she could do better lock picking than this guy, but she backed up anyway. "All yours," she said, waving a hand at the cabinet.

Munei stepped towards the filing cabinet and started picking at the lock. Within the spans of a few minutes, the lock was off.
"There we go." Munei says. "No trouble at all."

"Just a few knife scratches to show what we did," muttered Vanessa as she moved toward the cabinet again. She pulled it open and waved at the files inside. "Want to help?"

Munei nodded and started to shift through some of the files on the inside. Most were on people who lived here and on some other creatures that lived here.

Vanessa started to do the same, opening file after file and searching through them. She gained more information than necessary on the current residents, but nothing yet about, say, getting out of this world and back to her own.

Munei just shrugs and skims through the writing. Some of it was smudged and even damaged.

"There has got to be something on those gods." Munei says. "I hope there is more on them anyway." "That would be rather useful," said the blix, flipping another page. "If the universe was that kind."
