"Poorly?" She asked, she hadn't been there long enough to notice the severity of Saber's rule. Then realization hit her. "You're a rebel!" She put her hand on her stolen sword, backing up. "You're planning on kidnapping me, aren't you! To use me as a hostage! Well, I'll have you know I am a guest of the king, and if you so much as lay a finger on me, my father will tear you limb from limb! You may think of yourself as a lion, but he's twice as big as you!" She ranted, backing up some more. He could easily fight her off with his strength, probably even without getting any cuts. But if she got away, the insurgency would quickly call apart. Along with any hope of Whalstron helping them.

Jag raised an eyebrow. This princess was a fiery one, to say the least. And the way she was downtalking him was actually pretty cute, given how small she was in comparison to him. "I mislead those guards hunting you down, didn't I? Now surely, I can't be all bad? Rebels have morals too, I'll have you know. I really have no desire to harm you!" One of his ears flicked in annoyance.

She didn't know if she could bring herself to believe him. After all, she found his story hard to believe. Maybe their insurgency would try to kill her to bait Saber and her father? She didn't know. "Very well, but I will have every right to kill you if you betray me. Understand?" She asked. Not bothering to hear his answer, she changed the subject. "Those two figures, who are they?" She asked, motioning to the mouth of the alley where Sterling and Vince were barely visible. Jag rolled his eyes but let his comment pass. "If you're curious, why don't you go find out? Watch out for that one, though, has a strong bite." He motioned to Sterling. Jag's wound was still bleeding, but not as much now. It really wasn't worth the effort of bandaging it at this point, he just hoped it wouldn't become infected. "If you're scared, I'll protect you," he said jokingly, knowing the princess would not be happy with his offer.

Jag caught eyes with Vix before sighing again. She couldn't be more of a princess, could she? "Who's this, your littermate? Because I'd hardly mistake you for a prince!" Jag growled at Sterling, approaching the two but not getting too close. He, of course, was still angry from the surprise attack that left him with a deep wound.

Suddenly, Sterling shifted. He became human again as they both ran over to hug each other. "Your father-" he said suddenly, looking around. "He's in the castle, I snuck away from Saber," she said, smiling hugely. It really was him, it was Sterling! "I'm so happy to see you, I thought we'd never meet again-" "Id hoped it would stay that way, mutt." Growled a voice further away from them. There, surrounded by Whalstronian guards stood Harold, a scowl on his face. He had his sword drawn, "I should have known it was you the minute I heard Aria had been kidnapped. Good of me to have had a guard trail you." He turned to Vince and Jag, "You two are to be commended, attempting to rescue my daughter from the mutt." He motioned for Aria to come to him, "We're going back to the castle, and if this dog has any problems with that, he'll lose his head faster than he expects." Aria of course did not move, "Father, you can't!" She cried, Sterling staring harshly at Harold. How dare he? Try to keep them apart again and again. He had no doubt Jag and Vince would turn him in, probably glad to be rid of him. Clarence wasn't here to save him this time.. At least not yet.

Jag's annoyance turned into shock as King Harold walked before him. He had heard of the king of Whalston, but never being a traveler himself he figured he would never actually meet him. Given the chance to sell Sterling down the river, he probably wouldn't do it. But he'd be glad enough to never see him again. The king thought Jag and Vince were doing him a great service, but in reality they just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Jag certainly wouldn't mind being commended by a king, especially since he would be at the castle and it would be easier to put his sword to Saber's throat. But the way the princess was running from the royal guards... is Saber terrifying her in some way? Or is she just a snobby princess out trying to have some fun? I almost don't want to let her go back to the castle, to be on the safe side. "Your Highness, if it pleases you, may my fox friend and I accompany you back to the castle? We are both highly skilled guardsmen and we can make sure you stay safe on your travel back. In fact, we can even take this street rabble to the castle for you as a prisoner, if you desire."

We are both highly skilled guardsmen and we can make sure you stay safe on your travel back. In fact, we can even take this street rabble to the castle for you as a prisoner, if you desire." The events around Vince were all unfolding what seemed like a swift pace. First they had a run-in with another guard wanting to obtain the supposed bounty on his and Jag's heads, then a fight with one of Sterling's friends, followed by an argument with Sterling himself, and now the King of Whalstron was in their presence, as well as the Princess of Whalstron too. Vince looked from the King to Jag, to the Princess and Sterling, and back to the King, his multicolored eyes holding confusion until he put two and two together as he realized who Sterling was really wanted by, which wasn't Saber like he had originally thought.
"King", he said as he gave a respectful bow to Harold. This was the one he and Jag had to convince to help them in their rebellion, so he had to make a good first impression or else the whole thing would be a fluke and they'd be left on their own. Although, his respect for the King of Whalstron was genuine, unlike towards Saber whom he had no respect for, but faked it nevertheless when he was still a guard. "Please forgive us if we've misled 'ya, but me lion friend 'n I only just found these two escapin' the kidnappers. Pardon me rudeness if any, but he who is called- uh, Sterling, was it?- I believe has rescued the Princess from whom she was kidnapped by. We heard the commotion 'n chose to investigate", he explained, even though it was a complete lie. Lying to a King was no action to condone, but he figured now was a good chance to try and make amends with Sterling, while he still could to avoid being snitched out if they haven't already, by saving the mutt's tail from Harold's wrath.

(I might re-open it back up if you all want me to, but personally I don't have the time to keep up with it. But if you desire more people then I could open it if you want!) (Honestly I don't think we need any more people. As much as we keep losing them, it'll only make it harder to keep up with the RP if the new members are more active than ourselves. That's just my opinion. I think we have a good amount of material to RP with.)

Jag was willing to tell the king a different story completely, but he knew that once Vix started talking, anyone was likely to believe him. Even if the fox was only speaking pure lies, his charisma could win over anyone. So Jag stayed silent, nodding along to Vix's story.

( Just got back from school, glad you're back Winter! )
Sterling's look of anger turned to confusion as he looked at Vince. Was he really lying to a king? For him? Harold looked at Aria, "Is this true?" He asked, clearly not trusting Sterling. "Yes, father! It's true! Sterling saved me, but the kidnapper got away!" She said, relieved these guards were supporting them. "I know better than to disbelieve guards, especially good ones such as yourselves. Your honest is appreciated, the mutt won't die." He said gruffly, causing Sterling to smile. "Come, come. We don't need to rush back to the castle just yet. Drinks at the tavern on me," Harold said relatively cheerfully, and he and his guard began making their way to the tavern. Sterling and Aria hugged again, both incredibly happy they hadn't been sold out. When they pulled away finally, Sterling muttered "Thank you.." To Vince, and they both began following Harold.

(One's getting out of school as the other's going in to school X'D, I have class in about a few minutes here. If I can stay on top of my assignments then I'll be able to make a post or two when I'm free, but it depends on how much homework I have. I have some math homework I gotta do tonight so I'll probably be on briefly after class today and later tonight...I hope.)
Vince bowed his head to Harold as the Whalstron King passed by, then gave a single nod to Sterling to acknowledge the thanks he got. He looked at Jag and wondered if they should join them on Harold's offer. "I meself am not much of a drinker. I've only been a little too intoxicated about twice in me life, otherwise I prefer a good spot of fine wine. But f'er the sake of our royal guest, I can keep it cheap. Unless of course I can talk to Marie, the lass, int'a lettin' us have just one glass f'er a small price", he said, chuckling at the end. He remembered that first night as a guard...
(Flashback)
It'd been a long exhausting watch shift for a young guard, new to Saber's forces. The night brought rain in a downpour that soaked the fox shifter's fur to the bone. Hurrying to find shelter from the merciless rain, he ran to the nearest building in his sights, which was the tavern. The young fox walked in, cold and dripping with water, and he slowly made his way to a bar stool not caring where he sat as long as he could sit down. He hung his head low, spirits seeming to be broken, and he muttered curses to himself under his breath. It was his first day as a guard and already he was beginning to think it was a bad idea.
"Maybe I'm just not cut put f'er this...Perhaps I was meant 'ta be a con like me father?", he thought aloud in a mumble.
A woman who was fairly the same age, maybe a bit older, came by the fox on the other side of the counter, carrying a tray from her last order she'd just served. She took a sideways look at the gloomy fox, who evidently didn't see her since his gaze was turned down to stare at the counter top. She smiled to herself and turned to grab a glass and a bottle with dark liquid in it. She set the glass down and poured the contents of the bottle into it, then pushed it gently towards the fox shifter.
Young Vince looked up when he felt something bump his arm, to find the full wine glass sitting in wait for him to drink, then he looked up at the woman.
"You looked a bit down in the gloom there darlin', thought you could use a bit of a pick-me-up. Our finest wine, on the house!", she told him sweetly.
"Oh, I don't think I could...! I mean, I can't just take a free sippin'. I can pay, I promise!", said the fox.
"Don't you worry about a thing darlin'! I got it covered. You just sit there and drink. Let me know if you need or want anything else", said the waitress as she laughed at Vincent. "Name's Marie! What's yours?", she asked politely.
"Uh, Vincent. But, Vince, f'er short", he told her.
"Nice to meet you Vince! If you ever feel like you need something to lift your mood, come by here and ask for Marie, I'll give ya some wine and whatever else you need", she told him.
And from that point, Vince went to the tavern when he felt utterly tired from guard duties. He didn't even need to ask for the waitress, as she always met him at the counter before he could speak. And every time he had just one glass of wine. He had gotten used to it but not as a habit, he knew the charge of the wine so payed every now and then and refused to let Marie tell him no. Even after his guard days he still visited when he felt run down, and she still served him his one glass.
(End flashback)

Jag was willing to sell out the mutt for a reward, but Vince's idea seemed to be most helpful for the common good. Now he was going to have to play nice with Sterling, which he didn't want to do. He was lucky the king didn't ask where all the blood came from around his neck, because Jag was a terrible speaker and lying wasn't one of his strong suits. He flashed a fake smile at the group and followed behind everyone into the tavern. "Ah, Vix! I'm in here all the time. Don't know much about Marie, but she sure is a nice one, isn't she?" Jag was excited to drown out the excitement of the day with a great number of drinks. He could certainly hold his booze!

(Wasn't there someone else you shipped Vince with? X'D.)
Vince followed his lion friend, but smirked at him when he got excited about the thought of drinking his fill into a drunken stupor. "Ay. Don' let 'er demeanor fool 'ya laddie! She can be mean only when she wants or has to. I've seen it at least once, when some idiot didn' know when enough was enough, 'n she had to refuse service to 'im so that he'd stop drinkin'! All good intentions though, all good intentions", he said. Upon entering the tavern and sitting down with Jag, it only took less then two minutes for Marie to appear, and she hastily approached the two.
"Vince! Great to see you! And who's your friend?", asked the waitress looking at Jag.
"Me lion friend Jag. Met 'im in the town's courtyard just outside me shop", Vince answered.
"Looks like you two had a good beat down of some sort? Him at least", Marie said, noticing Jag's wound.
"Ay. You know I'm not a guard anymore, but I still handle business 'round here, 'n I happened to cross paths with Jag here after we heard a commotion goin' on. The usual guard duties if you ask me", Vince said, adding more to the fib he told Harold. He didn't like lying to Marie, but he had to keep it rolling in case Harold or his guards were listening to their conversation. If either one of them overheard the truth of what was going on, it wouldn't be just Sterling's head on the table but theirs too.
"I see. Well I'll get ch'ya boys set up here in a minute! I got a couple runs to make to some other tables. I'll make my way around to you here soon!", Marie said.
"We're here with the Kingdom's royal guest, King Harold and his daughter of Whalstron! Please be sure you tend to them immediately", Vince requested just before the waitress zoomed off to make her rounds as she said.

( Pfft, I ship Jag and Vince )
Harold sat down with his guards who looked ready to relax as well. Aria and Sterling sat at a table near them, but close to the back door. They were deep in conversation, not really paying attention to the hooded figure behind them eyeing each of them up hungrily. Harold decided he'd be generous, and set a large sack of gold down on the table. He planned on paying for everyone in the tavern, and had more if he required it. He kept glancing with eyes laced with loathing towards Sterling and Aria. He was nothing more than street trash and he liked her, a filthy mutt. How could his daughter, the princess of Whalstron, want someone like that? As he looked away, there were a few loud bangs and crashes at the couple's table, he whipped his head around to see what happened, seeing only the limp body of Sterling lying on the ground, and the back door slamming shut. He leapt up in alarm, what happened? "Well don't just stand there! After them!" He barked at his guards who all filed out of the room immediately.
Aria awoke in what looked to be a cave. There was no light aside from a fire that was positioned to her right. The cave was deep, and she knew this. For no sound aside from the drips of water was heard. She tried getting up, only to find her hands bound, along with her legs. Who did this? Sterling was nowhere to be seen, in fact, nobody was! Suddenly, footsteps sounded somewhere around the pillar she was leaning against. "Who's there?" She called, her voice shaking. "I- I demand you show yourself!" The figure chuckled, his voice sounded gravelly, "Such talk for a small girl.. I suppose I should listen to you, princess," and now he was visible in the light of the flames, there stood a man clad in iron armor. He had blonde hair that was unkempt, probably because of the squabble. His eyes had a yellow tint to them, unnaturally enough. There stood Clarence the bounty hunter, a wicked grin on his face.

(So, I am not quite sure where to jump in. BTW, I ship Kiona with Jag ☺ ) (I totally ship that X'D ) (Also, I know Fayne and Aurora just reunited at the tavern, we could start them up there ) Fayne still couldn't believe that his sister was right in front of him. He fought back tears as he spoke to her. "I was starting to think I'd never see you again.. after we lost each other in the woods that night, I couldn't find you. I've been looking for you for almost two years now and I'd almost given up hope!" He wrapped his arms around her again. "Was that you, Aurora? Howling in the woods? I knew it was a wolf, but I never would have guessed it was you. You've grown so much!" Saber arrived back at his castle. The guards with him separated into two groups- one to escort him home, and the other to find the runaway princess. He sighed angrily, upset that she was being such a pain. Maybe he should just drag some commoner girl in here to take his curse. But then, of course, his floors would be tainted with the dirtiness of the streets. He simply wouldn't allow a commoner to enter his castle. Saber went back to his room to await news from his guards.

But he didn't see anything. Just a huge mess of food, drinks, and furniture all over the floor, accompanied by the blank, confused faces of the tavern patrons. What in blazes just happened?

People were shouting and Jag could make out the screeching sound of tables and chairs being slid across the floor. He was facing the wall but he turned around as quickly as he could. But he didn't see anything. Just a huge mess of food, drinks, and furniture all over the floor, accompanied by the blank, confused faces of the tavern patrons. What in blazes just happened? (Lol funny cuz I was just thinking about that the other day XD. I don't have a thing against gay ships (except for SasuNaru cuz Naruto's my favorite character and I hate Sasuke X'D), and honestly Vince and Jag are cute lol. I think it's more of like a brotherly kind of thing for them tho, one calling the other his brother and visa versa, which is even cuter)
Vince listened to Jag with a light smirk on his face, knowing the lion would say such a thing about him and Marie. But the nearby commotion caught his attention and his gaze whupped to where the sound came from. He realized the princess was missing and Sterling was on the floor, and Harold was sending his guards after the kidnapper. Vince stood up quickly and investigated the scene with trained keen eyes, seeing where the figure sat and struck from by observing the path made between the tables and chairs, and which way Sterling fell. He caught a whiff of Clarence's scent, which he recognized from their earlier fight. The wolf had such a wreak on him that it was hard to forget. He looked back at Jag.
"C'mon laddie! We need to follow them and find the Princess!", he said, drawing his onyx black blade sword from its sheath and gripping it tightly. He looked at Harold then. "Don' ch'you worry you're highness, we'll find 'er! 'N when we do, we will be sure she makes a safe return!", he said.

( Pfft, I ship Jag and Vince ) Harold sat down with his guards who looked ready to relax as well. (Lol I totally did ship Vince before, but now I just can't remember who! But man, you're on to something! Jag and Vince's bromance is truly something to behold x3 ) (Also I'd like to point out again that I'm sorry Saber's kingdom doesn't have a name xD Suggestions are welcome, I'm fresh out of ideas xD ) (Also DAT PLOT TWIST^ dang bruh, Clarence smh) As soon as Marie left, Jag looked directly at Vince, grinning. Jag really looks up to Vince too, which is even more adorable x3 I don't think I could handle a gay ship, it's too much for meh xD I wish I knew Naruto stuff so I could offer a decent response, but I got nothing, sorry xD ) "Okay!" Jag said, placing his hand on his sword. It seemed that they were always running around doing this or that, but Jag liked a good fight so it was worth the hustle and bustle of things. He followed quickly behind Vince, exiting the tavern, and saw the trail of the guards running down the street. "Let's go!" He shouted, running after the group. The girl was certainly the stereotypical annoying princess type, but after speaking with her for a few minutes he realized that he couldn't just let her get injured somehow. He ran faster.
