Sakari didn't know what to think. "I- I don't know.. I don't think I could stand being different.." She said. She didnt want to be any different from others, and surely couldn't be an animal.. "No, I'm- I'm not different.." She decided. Perhaps if something.. Tragic happened?

Harold hesitated, he didn't necessarily expect anything bad to happen, but if that mutt really was hiding somewhere in this area.. "Very well," he said, "Just be certain to take care of her." Aria smiled, "I'll be fine, father. I can handle myself if anything did happen." She respobded, turning back to Saber. "Excellent!" Saber said smiling, clapping his hands to call for a servant. A well-dressed servant showed up and Saber instructed him to prepare the carriage for a trip to the village. Another servant came to escort king Harold to his chambers. "We will be just fine! And your daughter here will have a splendid time. Have a good evening!" He waved at Harold, and left the dining hall to head for the courtyard. Aria followed after him, waving to her father as he was ushered to the place he'd be staying. "So, what's this village like?" She asked in an attempt to strike up a conversation. She felt slightly nervous about being alpme with Saber, but figured she'd sneak off or something. She didn't feel too safe with him..

His allies had just been attacked, he'd lost their trail, and suddenly he was talking to a girl about shapeshifting. I need to get home, to the mountains! I can't wait to go home! Now that Kaitlyn helped me, I think they'll take me back. They have to! Flare was excited just thinking about returning to his homeland. I hope my firepower stays away for good, he thought, worried. Kaitlyn had been able to remove his fire magic and give him the ability to control water magic, but in the back of his mind he worried that his firepower might come back. Although it would be exciting to learn how to control magic from Kaitlyn, he decided that he would rather just go back home, now that he was no longer dangerous. "I think it might be something you'll discover one day, if it's truly inside of you," he said to the girl. "I need to travel back to my homeland, far away from here. If you have no place to be, you are welcome to come with me. You might discover your true nature if you travel in the wild for a while, if you happen to have a hidden feral side."

"It's delightful!" Saber responded, trying to sound friendly. "The lowly peasants all run around like little ants. It's quite amusing, to say the least! And most of them are just so dirty, I'm sure they wish they were as beautifully clothed as we are, my dear!" He chuckled at his own joke. They were already on the way to the village, riding in the king's personal ornate golden carriage. "Tell me, princess, are you a shifter?" Saber asked, changing topic.

Sakari honestly had nowhere to go. What could she lose? She wasn't thinking of settling down just yet. "I suppose I could come... if you truly want me to. I wouldn't want to be a burden." She felt eager to find out if she was a shifter. But the chances of that were very low, and she knew that. But that small chance was what made her excited. She looked at the snow leopard. "I apologize. I never properly introduced myself." She shook the thought out of her head. "My name is Sakari," she gave a smile and nodded her head in his direction.

Aria was slightly taken by surprise at the sudden question, "Me? No, there isn't a drop of shifter blood in our family.." She lied partially. In truthfulness, she herself wasn't a shifter. But her father was, in fact, a lion. He tried to get her to shift but to no avail. And, frowning, she went silent. Saber smiled. A girl like her, weak without shifter abilities, would be easy to kill. He'd be free of his curse within the next few days! He just had to get her to his court wizard, so they could transfer the curse to her. Then, Saber would be at full power again and he would slice her down before she even knew what was happening. The curse would be gone forever! And so would Whalstron's heir. He would make short work of her also non-shifter father Harold, then his army would storm their kingdom and take over. Removing my curse and allowing me to take their kingdom. What fools they are! Saber was still smiling. "Shifter abilities aren't everything, though. You could become an excellent queen, whether or not you're a shifter." Of course, Saber didn't believe that. If he had his way, he'd kill off all the non-shifters, or use them as his servants. But he didn't want to make Aria suspicious of him, so he continued their polite conversation.

Flare smiled at Sakari. "My name is Flare. It is a pleasure to meet you!" He nodded in greeting. "It would be nice to have a travelling partner, the forests can get quite lonely at night. It's up to you if you want to come! You can stay if you want, but if you come I'll be glad to have you!"

But he didn't want to make Aria suspicious of him, so he continued their polite conversation. She smiled, "Mhm.." She couldn't explain it, it was probav her wanting to explore, but she wanted to get out of there. He was being nice to her probably out of courtesy, but it felt.. Fake. Quickly, she clenched slowly down on the inside handle of the carriage door. She opened it, letting out a feigned yelp of fear as she tumbled out of the carriage, the door slamming shut after her. She got up and sprinted toward the nearest building which happened to be situated next to Vince's shop. She was gone before anybody could take note of what happened. She'd just have to lay low and wait for him to head back or something. Then she could explore the village. She'd probably say she was kidnapped or something, throw them off track. Her father could probably support her by saying she knew how to fight. It was then that she heard some voices, turning, she was able to make out three animalistic figures in the shadows, a dog being one of them. "What's that.." She muttered to herself, moving over to get a better look. Luckily for all of them, she was pretty far out of Saber's range by now. And they'd probably hear him and guards blundering down the street before anything bad happened. She was ducked behind a barrel, and sadly for her, anyone with keen senses could smell the perfume she'd applied earlier.

Before Saber even knew what happened, Aria had vanished. Did she just... jump out? It happened so fast he couldn't be sure. Immediately a small team of guards left the carriage and began chasing after her; through the window, Saber saw them leave. I promised her father I'd protect her, then she pulls a stunt like this. I hate teenagers! Now Harold's going to cause me all sorts of trouble. He sighed angrily. He knew the guards would hunt her down and get her back, but he still didn't like it.
In a small blacksmith shop, a hyena woke up. After a moment he came to his senses and he remembered what happened. He was harassing some random villager, when a fox and a lion came and beat him up. He frowned, upset that he was so small and didn't stand a chance against them. Some guard I am! he thought bitterly. He thought for sure he'd be dead, yet they had spared him. It was fuzzy, but he remembered something about.. honor? And not treating peasants like dirt? And not robbing them, either. It didn't sound like a fun life, to say the least. You use fear to control me. Well played, he thought. Now that he knew the damage those two could do, he'd have to "behave" so they wouldn't come for him. How twisted, using fear to make peace. He shakily stood up, still dizzy from loss of blood. He looked down at the bandages over his chest. They were soaked and needed to be changed again. But the hyena wanted to get out of the fox's shop as soon as possible; he'd change his bandages later, at the barracks. He staggered to the doorway and began hobbling down the street, when he saw a most peculiar sight. A girl, running towards the blacksmith shop? He was too weak to jump out of the way, but she was headed straight towards him. He hoped she wouldn't plow him over. A group of three royal soldiers were close behind her. What's happening here?

Aria spotted the familiar sight of the shop, perfect. She could swipe a sword from there then she could pay later, but there was one problem. There was a hyena standing there, well, she assumed it was at least. "Sorry, coming through," she said, ducking into the shop. Luckily, she was protected by the darkness. They might assume that that thing was the figure they were chasing.. It was wishful thinking, but the best idea she had. She ducked behind a table, taking deep breaths. Grabbing a sword from a rack near her, she made her way out the back, positioning herself behind a barrel in an alley next to a random building, she didn't care what it was. Sadly for her, Jag, Vince, and Sterling had a clear view of her. And if the dress didn't give her away, then the scent of perfume added to their keen senses of smell would.

Jag fell to the ground, dumbfounded. He couldn't figure out what was happening, but something was attacking him. Before he knew it the creature was gone, and he could see Vix standing over him, talking to the attacker. Jag was in shock and was in no state to think about anything, except how he felt kind of dizzy. His throat hurt. Instinctively he covered it with his paw, but he felt too tired to do anything else. It's a good think I have such a thick neck, I might just make it out of this, he laughed inwardly. Jag watched as Vix tried to come to an agreement with Sterling. The lion was still in shock from the sudden bite at his neck. He needed to find some bandages, and fast. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the hyena leaving the blacksmith shop, in only slightly better condition than Jag was. He also saw.. Saber's carriage?! And a group of soldiers chasing a girl, heading his way? What's going on in this town?! His head was spinning. He wondered if he and Vix should ditch Sterling and chase after Saber. But before he knew it, the running girl had passed him and entered Vix's shop. Jag didn't like the look of the royal guards chasing her; he decided he'd do his best to help the girl escape Saber's grasp. He shouted towards the guards. "There's a mob, chasing the girl! They sliced me with their swords and ran, towards the woods!" The other guards immediately trusted him and changed direction towards the edge of town. Now, where's that girl? Is she okay? ...Am I okay? He looked down at his blood-soaked mane. He needed to treat his wound, fast.

Aria heard Jag's voice, wondering to herself why he lied to them. No no, it was a trick! He was going to capture her himself! Scoffing to herself, she inched closer to the alley's opening. Her scent would be easy to follow from the shop, but she wasn't exactly aware Jag was looking for her. She turned and entered the shop again, a bow and quiver of arrows couldn't hurt? She looked around, spotting a bow. Rushing over, she only had time to grab a couple of arrows before Jag's scanning of the shop caught her. She ducked down, nocking an arrow. Jag's sense of smell wasn't the greatest, but it was easy for him to follow the scent of perfume on the girl. A noble, or a royal? This is getting more interesting by the minute. "Who are you? And why are you running from the royal guard? Is it Saber? Is he after you?" Jag called into the darkness of the alleyway. He cupped his wound with his paw.

Aria decided to ambush him upon his passing her. She picked up a stone and tossed it into the ship's side window, now getting ready to trip him if he came near her. Surely he was much larger than her, and could easily overpower her. But maybe she could outsmart him.. That probably wouldn't be too hard. Jag sighed. She's messing with me! "I'm on your side!" he shouted, taking a few steps closer. Jag knew he was a brute and a fool, but he knew enough to tell that this girl was probably of high importance to the king.

"If you're as nice as you claim, step to the back door of the sho!" She shouted, gripping the bow harder. She planned to trip him and aim an arrow at his face.. She wouldn't kill him, though. It wasn't what she was taught, and he hadn't done anything yet. Peeking over the barrel was followed by a pang of annoyance, he was a.. A shifter? What did Saber say about them? They were stronger than regular humans? Well, she may not have been a shifter, but she had the blood in her. Jag did as she said, to gain her trust. Surely a noble, or whoever she was, wasn't an assassin. And Jag felt that even if she did attack, he was burly enough to fight her off.

Once he got close enough, she swept the bow at his feet, knocking him over. Before he could react, she drew the bowstring back, the arrow aimed at his face. "Who are you and what do you want?" She demanded. Jag was actually quite surprised that the girl was strong enough and swift enough to knock him down so easily. Although, he was badly injured. From the ground he looked up at her, more annoyed than anything else. "I'm a high-ranking guard in this town, and you'd do well to learn to respect authority. And your elders." He wiped dust out of his eyes from the cloud of dirt that puffed up when he fell to the ground. "As a noble guardsmen it is my duty to help citizens such as yourself. Especially if it looks like they happen to be having trouble with Saber." He had to keep pausing mid-speech to cough.

"I don't need your help, I'd be better off with my father. It's funny, had you been a bit bigger I would've thought you were him.." She paused at the opening of the alley, looking both ways to check for guards. "I suppose you'd like to know who I am?" She called over to Jag.

She huffed. "Princess Aria of the Kingdom of Whalstron. I take it you're a deserter?" She asked, approaching him again. She began taking in every detail of him, noting how small he looked in his form compared to her father.. If he really hoped to kidnap her or anything, he'd likely die. Unless he was in an ethical mood. She leaned against the wall, not really trying to help Jag up. "You're quite like my brother, well, in that form. Almost identical.." She said, still looking him over. "Hey now, deserter sounds quite harsh!" Jag stood up on his own, brushing the dust off of his shirt. "You really must not like your brother that much then," he joked half-heartedly. If he looked anything like her brother, then he wondered how she'd be able to beat him up like that without feeling guilty. "You can't tell me you love this Saber guy. Of course there's going to be rebels in his kingdom when he runs everything so poorly!"
