He looked them over, and didn't find a single flaw. "Thank you, you are indeed a man of skill!" He gestured to the rest of the weapons. "Might you have something for the lady?"

Astra's eye brightened at his suggestion, "You really think so?" Se said, a bit excited at the thought. Her eyes brightened and she looked at him with a bright grin, her snake eyes completely forgotten. AAnd he didn't seem to notice them anyway which only encouraged her to forget about them herself. "Could you take me there?" Astra asked, then suddenly shrunk back, her excitment fading. She didn't want him to go out of his way. Maybe he was busy. Astra definietly didn't want to be a burden so she quickly added, "That is, if you aren't busy or anything" She smiled, growing a bit shy again.
Fayne- "Me, busy? I'm a traveller! I haven't a care in the world!" At least, that's what he told people. His smile faded as he thought about his real mission. He didn't want anyone to know his real story; people would be cruel or poke fun at him. So here he was, a travelling mercenary, being friendly yet having no friends, and travelling across the kingdom. Suddenly he realized he was distracted; he looked back up at Astra with a smile. "It's not far at all, actually! I was there just last night." He spun around the cart so the open end was facing her. "There's room for a rider, if you wanted to jump in! They say I'm a pretty fast runner!" He barked a happy laugh. Astra noticed his fading smile and a small sense of dread washed over her. Had she offended him? Maybe said something wrong. She opened her mouth to say something, maybe apologize when his warm smile returned. Astra's dread cascaded away at his smile and she grinned when he spun the cart toward her. "Well aren't you a gentlemen?" She teased with a slight blush and a bright smile. Astra climbed into the cart, "Take it away, Runner" She grinned.

Fayne was excited. He loved giving people rides; it reminded him of when he was little and used to pull his little sister around in a cart across their farm. He was actually surprised the lady would allow him to gice her a ride, since she appeared to be a secretive and self-reliant kind of person. But Fayne wasn't about to complain; this was going to be fun! He unrolled the rope he kept rolled around his shoulder and tied the ends to the handles of the cart. "You'd better hold tight!" He called over his shoulder. Within moments he had transformed into a long-maned white wolf. After a loud howl, he snapped up the middle of the rope in his mouth. He began running at an incredible speed, scaring some of the nearby villagers as he ran by.

Arabella turned to Vincent, "You don't have to if you don't want to. But if you can, I would like you to maybe reinforce my bow."

"Hello?" Ir called down the tunnel, shaking her head to rid her eyes and beak of clods of dirt. At least, she hoped it was the right tunnel! She had gotten turned around, and doubted she could find the way out now. Ir began to resent her decision to follow the travelers, her wings needed some fresh air!

The other two appeared to be busy talking. But Jag could swear he heard something. Perhaps it was that same weird thing from earlier? He grabbed another torch from off the wall and lit it using the other one, then slowly made his way down the dirty tunnel. "Is anyone there..?" He called quietly. He didn't want his friends to think he was stupid if they heard him talking to himself, but he could swear there was someone there.

Just as she was handing over her bow, Arabella heard a voice call from above. "We've been spotted." This wasnt good. 1. They were hiding a fugitive 2. They were two guards hiding a fugitive 3...do you really need one after number one and two?

Ir heard someone call back, and rushed towards the source of the noise, flapping her wings in excitement, thrilled that there may be someone to lead her out of this horrid place. "Yes!"she cried, arriving at the hollow in which the three adventures stood. She glanced at the pile of weapons, drawn by the glinting of the metal in the low light. "... Hi?" she croaked, coughing on a cloud of dirt.

Arabella just glared at the bird and pulled out her sword, "Who are you?" She asked. For all she knew this could have been one of Saber's royal attendants. And if she was, she wasn't leaving this forest anytime soon.

Jag saw that Arabella was in control of the situation. He stood back, holding the torch, and watched as the situation unfolded.

"Me?" Ir cocked her head and wiggled her tail feathers, hopping a few steps forward to better look and the three. "Nobody you should be afraid of," she replied. "Or, who would report you to the proper authorities," she added. "unless you give me a reason to," narrowing her eyes at the rapier that was pointed in her direction. She doubted she could out-maneuver anybody in these cramped alleys, at least without a miracle. Perhaps she could get her claws on some of the shinies, however.

"What do you think Jag and Vince? Friend or foe?" She asked them quietly. Not wanting the bird to know who they were just yet. This one could be dangerous. Just like pretty much everyone else here. The villagers didn't like her because of her occupation and the other guards didn't really take a liking to her because she was nicer to villagers than the other people she worked with in her division.

"What is your business here?" Jag asked, bluntly. He still held on to the torch with one hand, and he placed his other hand on the hilt of his father's lion sword.

There was an unusual amount of activity in this little village and it was spearheaded by Ravage no less, the king’s little pet rat. How curious. Finnian kept a low profile at the best of times, but with so many guards out and about, he hesitated to even think about pulling off a job. For starters, it was just plain dumb to target someone with all this chaos even though sometimes chaos could work to your advantage, depending on the situation. This was not one of those situations. His stomach growled like so many others in the village, protesting the fact that he hadn’t eaten in a few days. He could practically hear the guards clinking with all their gold and silver. They were basically begging to be pickpocketed! Finnian shapeshifted fully, folding in on himself as he shrank to a fraction of his own size. His pine marten nose sniffed the air and his enhanced hearing pricked as he crept out of hiding, slinking his way alongside a decrepit building. A guard was muttering unhappily to his buddy, “Man, Ravage is steamed. I’ve never seen him like this. I dunno why some Fox has him all riled up.” Finnian’s paused, whiskers twitching as he sensed an opportunity.

Ravage walked past the pair of guards with an angry stride. "Focus on the task at hand, both of you!" He smacked them both across the face with his tail. "Stop gossiping like a bunch of ninnies and keep an eye out for that lion!" Or that fox. Ravage felt that something was wrong with that whole exchange. How could that pathetic excuse for a guard, Jag, get beaten up by some fox? And if he was wimpy enough to get beat up by him, how could he be strong enough to kill him? It didn't make sense. Ravage glared at the two guards and headed toward the forest border. If the lion was telling the truth, then he should be returning from the forest soon, after burying the fox's remains. If the lion didn't return soon.. Ravage loved to personally hunt down traitors and make them suffer.
(Sorry I'm just here for one post, gotta go to bed! ;D )

(hey, I kinda had a semi-idea. With animals in the wild, certain types don't like other types like with wolves and foxes or wolves/coyotes, hawks/small birds or crows, mostly territorial issues. What if the werecreatures sort of followed in that regard where certain types of shifters don't really play well together? It's not so much a race thing it's more of a natural aversion or distrust of each other. Idk just a thought. :3)
Finn paused a beat to listen, amused, to Ravage’s tirade though beneath the mirth he was listening closely. A lion and a fox? Rare pedigree and possibly in cahoots to boot. He sank down onto his belly when the duo of guards, flustered by their brief scolding and eager to make up for their lapse of work ethic, hurried to follow their leader. When Finn was sure he hadn’t been spotted he scampered after them, shifting into half-form and sticking with the flow, weaving in and out of bystanders but entirely focused on following Ravage and his morons. He was positive there was a profit to be earned or an adventure to be had and he refused to be left out: it was bad business sense.

(Yeah Hawki, I ca see what you mean! I think it would be case-by-case depending on characters' personalites and stuff, but I definitely think it should affect some werecreatures!)
Ravage was getting bored of waiting for the lion to return. He leaned up against the wall of a small business near the forest enterance, waiting. The sun was setting now, and the skies were turning a bright pinkish orange. Ravage began to nod off. He started dreaming about himself hunting down a trickster fox and the large oaf of a lion. He smiled in his sleep.

She gripped the sides of the cart, not sure whether to scream with terror or laugh. The wind from the speed at which Fayne ran whipped through her hair and Astra let out a delighted laugh. Then slowly she relaxed and tossed her hands in the air, whooping and yelling in a unlady-like fashion. This was probaly the most fun she'd had in awhile.
