Li felt confused briefly, wondering how Amadeo knew his occupation, before almost immediately remembering that he was still in uniform. Exhaustion will do that to a man. Li smirked a bit at himself, looking down and rubbing his eyes. "I'm Li." He looked at the mass of supplies in Amadeo's arms, "shall we go, then?"

"Goodness, you look tired." After a few minutes of chitchat, Amadeo was quite the opposite. "I could never be a waiter. I hate when people tell me what to do," Amadeo remarked, stepping outside and closing the door behind him. He followed Li a step ahead, chattering all the way down the corridor, to the other passengers' dismay. "Did you say you needed this done by tomorrow? Do you think I have all this free time on my hands? Ha!" Smiling back at his new acquaintance, Amadeo added, "I do have a lot of free time on my hands."

Li clearly seemed uncomfortable with how sociable Amadeo was. Yes, Li could hold a conversation and very much enjoyed making new acquaintances, but this wasn't the time, this wasn't the situation. When he always felt like he was on the verge of vomiting out of sheer nerves, making small talk wasn't ideal. He felt awkward directing Amadeo while walking behind him, though he silently extended his long arm to point left or right when they needed to turn down a different hallway. He didn't like the possibility of waking anyone, but he couldn't find a moment to interject until finally they'd reached his door. "We're here." Li said quickly and abruptly, pulling his key out of his pocket to unlock the door. "I don't expect it done by tomorrow. Just... Soon, ideally." He turned the key, pulling the handle and quietly opened the door, as to not startle Harriette into waking.

"'Soon'...I already have an idea in mind," Amadeo told Li, not bothering to lower his voice when they stepped over the threshold. Looking around the room, he caught sight of Harriette and nodded. "I was right. She's a teal." He laid his things down on the floor, not bothering to ask first, and began to draw. "Does she have family from Marego? She can't be from there herself—no way out—but your friend certainly looks the part."

Li moved towards the bed but tensed up when the tailor mentioned Marego. "Yes." Li said simply. His voice was low so he wouldn't wake Harriette, but considering how sound asleep she was in the moment, it'd take a heck of a lot more. "Uh. Her family's from there, but we grew up as neighbors as children. She's a family friend, she just needs something nice to wear." He didn't lie, the information he provided was true, but he intentionally left out the part where Harriette moved back to Marego as an adult only a few years back; that wasn't necessary information for Amadeo to make a dress. He looked back at Amadeo who was already hard at work, furiously scribbling on his sketchpad. Li raised a brow. "You do need me to wake her, right?" It almost seemed as if Amadeo was doing his job perfectly fine just by looking at the sleeping Harriette.

"I have a good eye for measurements, but I wouldn't mind terribly if you woke her. To double check. I can't afford to waste fabric right now; I was promised more at the next port, but seeing as we've turned tail..." Amadeo replied absently, applying a ruler to the sketch. Briefly, he glanced at the window, startled and amazed by a sudden flash of lightning. "This could be a funeral dress, you know. Say, Li, if you were to die today, what would you want to be wearing? I'd certainly want to change out of my nightclothes first."
(After this is over, should we skip to Sol? Unless this is boring and we can end the scene here)

((Mayb. it's up to you, but I feel like amberice should be here for some stuff? but idk they havent been here in a lil while? buuuuut also im gonna go to sleep now, night!))
Though he jumped at the lightning strike, Li pretended he didn't even react to it, quickly tilting his head at Amadeo like a confused dog, the question made him uncomfortable, but not much more than he had already been. Amadeo was... Odd, to say the least. "Anything but my uniform." Truth be told, his waiter's uniform was the nicest outfit he had. Li wasn't exactly well-off, and while he didn't own anything better than his uniform, dying wearing his work clothes just felt like a supremely unsatisfying way to go. He pushed back the thought of death -- that was a problem for another day -- and he turned to gently shake Harriette awake.
The woman woke with a start, she was only slightly relieved to see that it was Li that had woken her, "what's wrong, what's going on?" Still exhausted, with only one hour of sleep under her belt, Harriette was fully alert and took in a sharp breath when she saw Amadeo.
"It's okay, it's okay." Li grabbed her shoulder, "he's here to help, he's going to make you a dress. The captain's idea."

((Yeah, that's why I'm kind of hesitant to move on? Like idk if they forgot or just lost interest or are too busy but I guess we can give it another day or two.
Night, wish I could sleep x.x))
"Was it really his idea? Mackenzie's just full of good ones, every day. Like turning around." Every word dripped with sarcasm, not out of character for Amadeo. He had mixed feelings toward Christopher, most of them good, some of them enough to wipe all the good away. But the man signed his paycheque, so personal qualms hardly mattered.
Amadeo brought over the sketchbook to show Harriette his first draft. It was beautiful, typical to the standards of most passengers aboard the airship, who were far too rich to travel by steamship. Although, at this rate, sailors were probably making it through faster than they were. "What do you think? If you don't like it I can come up with something else, probably. Please say you like it."

Rebecca could realize she's not on the manifest, maybe?))

((Alright, let's just quickly finish up this scene then skip to Sol))
Harriette was still very confused, but she leaned forward, squinting at the paper. "Yes, that's fine." She nodded one too many times. As of this moment, Harriette was wearing a straight beige dress, stained with sweat and dirt, her auburn hair was a mass of tangled curls. At best she could have passed for a very poorly paid maid, but as far as working conditions went, the airship's company was relatively fair with how they treated their workers. "My daughter." The young mother started, "if it's not too much to ask, she needs something as well. A sundress and a hat?" Phoebe was still asleep by some miracle, though she was just wearing a simple white onesie, stained a grey-brown simply because it was the only thing the child had to wear. Yes, Harriette washed it when she could, but that only did so much.

"Oh, of course," Amadeo replied happily. "But only if I get to hold her." And then the tailor went back to his sketchbook, singing a merry little tune in Italian. "This shouldn't take long at all. Meet me in the morning and I'll give it to you." He glanced at the wall clock to realize he only had a few hours. "Maybe in the afternoon, eh?"
(Would there be missing person posters out for Harriette on Sol?)

((Idk if it'd make sense since she's from Marego, but it would add some spice, so, it depends on how the drama goes, or if amberice wants rebecca to find out via the posters instead of realizing she isn't on the manifest? idk idk))
Harriette nodded, staring at Amadeo with caution. He definitely didn't seem like he had ulterior motives. Perhaps he really was simply... Like that? "Perhaps you can hold her later? She's sleeping currently."
"I'll pick up the clothes before my shift. I start work at 4, should it be done before then?" Li looked between Amadeo and Harriette. He was surprised the tailor could whip out two outfits in a matter of hours, but he supposed that was the exact reason Christopher keeps him so close.

((Yeah that works, we could just say that Sol and Marego are very small islands in a chain so they're kind of connected? Not quite like Hawaii or something b/c they'd be different countries, but they're just really close in political alliance & just literally very close or something.))
edit: ((Yeah i was also going to say rebecca could like run into harriette and ask for her info, look her up and realize she isn't a passenger))

I had another idea but Harriette is your character so whatever you want to do, but what if her husband is like some important figure on Marego and that's why they're looking so hard for her?)

In the evening, just before the hurricane chasing the airship made ground, the crew returned safely to Sol. Having dropped so much ballast to conserve fuel, landing was difficult, to say the least, and required a significant amount of hydrogen be released from the hull. Between that and the hurricane-force winds, Christopher had his work cut out for him. It was a legendary maneuver the crew would have talked about for years to come—if they weren't all afraid for their lives.
While the sailmakers scrambled to secure their vessel, the bridge crew and passengers were disembarking, as it was far too dangerous to remain aboard for anyone who had no more responsibility there. So they watched from the shelter of a hangar on Sol, the metal paneling groaning around them. Amadeo, who now considered Li his friend (though he wasn't sure the waiter felt the same way) stood by him and Harriette, while Christopher examined a "Wanted" poster in the structure's southwest corner. There was no reward listed, only punishments for harbouring the fugitive. That was Marego for you.

Li stood with his arms crossed, examining the area in the bleak light of the dark clouds. His black hair was parted on the left, slicked down as it usually was. He was still in uniform, a hurricane wasn't going to stop the rich and important from having their lobster and caviar. Though he was tall, he hunched over a bit, the massive hangar made him feel tiny, and he avoided questioning the structural integrity -- it'd only scare him more.
Harriette had finally been able to clean herself and her daughter up. The outfits that they wore, designed so quickly and expertly by Amadeo, made them look like standard passengers, a rich mother and her daughter, vacationing while the father stays home to make more money for them. She held Phoebe close to her chest as if the baby would blow away in the wind that came in diagonally into the hangar. The infant's hat flapped wildly before coming loose, twisting through the air before sliding to a halt on the ground. Li trotted over to pick it up as Phoebe began to cry. He quickly returned to fit it snugly back on her head, but the child sobbed regardless.

(I'll just write another that doesn't really move the plot along...)
"I hate Sol. The weather is either too humid or trying to kill you," Amadeo remarked, watching Li. In the light of day he looked exhausted, and clearly hadn't given much thought to his outward appearance that afternoon. The tailor's hair wasn't touched and he hadn't even bothered to put on a tie. Worth it, he supposed, to make a disguise for someone. No one had ever asked him to make a disguise. Now there was something he could put on his résumé.
Even with the storm outside and a grounded airship overhead, he was relatively calm—until men in black trudged through the open door. Christopher felt the same uneasiness, and tossed a glance at Li across the floor, but couldn't find the waiter in the massive sea of faces. He couldn't protect them now.
"Well," Amadeo sighed, only watching as the force drew closer, "Suddenly I wish you were the secret police, Li."
