(sorry for the poof, my family rented Doctor Strange so I was watching that.)
Tsuka crossed his arms. "At the moment, the paint for the ceremony, as well as the beads that will tie them together. They have to be blessed in a specific way." He raised one eyebrow. "You're lucky I hadn't started with that part yet or you would've interrupted the ritual and I would've had to start all over again."

The twins' eyes looked up in unison as they sensed their bubble had been popped by another presence. When Astarte realized it was only Yserei, she looked back down to her sewing. Everyone in the tribe knew Healo and the red haired huntress were on the brink of a romance, except it seemed Healo and Yserei. Astarte found their obliviousness both charming and mildly irritating. At times, when they were flirting or bickering or gazing at each other, she was overcome with an urge to shout: "Just kiss already and save us all the trouble!" Thankfully she was a caring sister and so she held her tongue. Besides, it was amusing to watch them blunder about. "Yes," Astarte said in response to Yserei's comment, "The silly oaf would be lost without me." At her side, Healo huffed in annoyance. She expected him to retort, but he seemed to think better about picking a fight with the two women.
"I can sew them myself, you know," Healo, sounding a bit defensive. Astarte sensed him glancing to her for help, but she did not tear her eyes away from her stitches. It was best for him to handle it on his own. A moment passed before his back straightened and his energy shifted. There, he had found his footing. "But I figure Astarte will do them better. Women are better at most things. I think our kills for the day can attest to that." He gestured to where the tenders were carving up the feast. His haul for the day was a scrawny calf. Yserei, however, had managed to kill both a stag and a pair of birds. Generally speaking, the two of them were evenly matched as hunters, but his misfortune for the day as an excuse to charm Yserei. Astarte glanced up discretely to catch the other woman's reaction. Between them, Healo had a goofy grin on his face. His broad shoulders were pulled back so the three of them could look at each other by the growing light of the fire. "It's a good thing I have you two around, given I'm such an idiot," he added. Astarte rolled her eyes. Idiot indeed. Yserei raised an eyebrow at Healo, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Is that so?" she snorted. "If you tried to sew your pants, you'd make the hole a whole lot worse than you'd even start to make a dent in repairing it." The young man had straightened his back and turned his attention to Yserei, and went he mentioned her prowess as a hunter, a blush began to darken her expression. "Yeah, well, you're just a suck-up," she muttered, squirming. She appreciated the complement, but she didn't know how to respond without revealing her feelings for Healo. She studied his dark gaze, and for a moment found herself lost in his intense eyes. She mentally shook herself out of the reverie however, and pushed a lock of her blood-red hair out of her gaze. There was a heartbeat of silence, before Yserei cracked and snorted at the expression on Healo's face. As much as she wanted to be annoyed at the fact that he was very obviously trying to kiss up to her, she was flattered and flustered and didn't really know how to respond. She tried to shift the subject, rather obviously. "Seems like there's rain coming," she commented, blue-green gaze dancing between Astarte and Healo, though she tended to spend more time studying Healo. He really was charming, Yserei reluctantly admitted, and was attractive. There was a massive height difference between the two, with Yserei barely reaching five feet and Healo towering over her. She glanced towards the bonfire, becoming aware that there was a rather prominent scar on her face. She didn't usually care about it, but for some reason, she cared about Healo's opinion of her, and the dark voice within her whispered that the scar made her ugly and undesirable. The eagle's strike had scarred her face and fractured her nose, leaving behind a slight crick. She pushed her hair behind her ear and shifted her gaze back to the twins, fiddling with the totem that hung around her neck. It was her life totem, craved in the shape of a powerful golden eagle. She ran her calloused thumb over the intricately carved design; over the wings, that extended outward in both directions, over the beak that curved into a slight hook at the end, over the talons that were semi-extended. The totem soothed her a bit, but it didn't do anything to calm the butterflies dancing around within her stomach and chest as she sat next to the one person in the tribe that she was attracted to.
It was really a shame that he probably didn't feel the same; they would've made a good pair.

Kekem sat by the central fire on an old stump, which served as his usual resting place. Now though, unlike usual, it seemed that the entire tribe was gathered in this one part of the camp getting ready for the wedding. The old man watched the preparations with both amusement and excitement. It had been many seasons since there had last been a wedding, and this one in particular was special to him- the wedding of his great nephew. As with many things nowadays, he watched carefully and said nothing, taking in every detail of the event as though it were the last he'd ever see- which it very well may be. He never knew when Asa-kel would call him to her, and as he grew older he expected it more and more with each day, though not in a resentful sort of way. He was grateful for the years he had been given, and for each day he continued to live.

Gelaar rubbed a large hand over his face, attempting to pull the grogginess from his mind. Sleeping in the middle of the day was useless at best, and luck wasn't currently on his side. It was at this point that the man remembered that preparations were being made for a wedding. Almost everyone seemed busy with their own task or already participating in a conversation. A few yards away sat the elder, Kekem. Gelaar found himself taking his usual wide strides over to the older man before sitting down on the ground next to the stump. He stared forward into the fire, "what do you think of these clouds on a wedding?" His regularly gruff voice was quiet, genuine interest shining through, who better to predict whether or not something is an omen? The younger man rested his elbows on his knees, using his left hand to massage the callouses on the right hand.

Kekem nodded to Gelaar as he sat down, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees as the younger man spoke. He then frowned, considering the question. "Well, I was never much of a superstitious one so I wouldn't say the clouds themselves are any kind of omen," Kekem answered after a moment, shrugging. "It's the stars, really. As long as a few of them shine through, Asa-kel can bless the marriage and all will be well. The clouds will do what they will- I think Asa-kel leaves most of nature to its own devices."

A grin danced on Gelaar's lips, it felt reassuring to hear that. Not that the hunter had any deeply personal investment in the wedding, but the mere concept of a cursed wedding left him a little on edge. "Good to hear that one of our wisest members isn't too concerned by the rain." He'd heard many times about bad omens, rain during a celebration always seemed to be brought up, yet this was the first time he'd experienced such a thing firsthand. He looked up at the dark clouds, the sun was low enough that the first few stars began to faintly shine in the gaps between the clouds. "She watches us now." Gelaar added, gesturing skyward with one hand.

Kekem nodded. "And I'm sure she'll continue to do so. I don't think it'll actually rain until tomorrow. That will be good. Rain brings new life." And that was something the tribe certainly needed many times over. The cold season had finally, truly ended, and thus the forest needed to grow so that the tribe could gather as many herbs and other useful plants as they could before the frosts returned in a few moons. The tribe needed new children, as well; even the youngest was many seasons old by now.

"So you see it as a good omen?" Gelaar liked the idea of that. Rain was growth, it was creation, and -- above all -- it was something that the dry land needed. He pulled his mass of dreads back behind his shoulders before casting a sidelong glance at Kekem, hunched over in his regular seat. Though the older man was losing his health, there was no denying that he was a formidable threat in his youth. Gelaar would have drawn the connection between the two of them if he were smarter; Kekem was as reckless when he was young as Gelaar was currently. The only difference was that Kekem had already seen the brutal consequences of such an attitude, for Gelaar, that was yet to come.
((I was reading Kekem's description and it calls Maadua his older brother but Kekem is 54 and Maadua is 46? am confuse))

(Maguura is the current chief, not Maadua. Maadua was Maguura's father, so Kekem is the uncle of the current chief. The Maadua mentioned in both of their descriptions was the chief before Maguura, and is now dead.)
Kekem shrugged. "Perhaps not an omen, per se. Simply nature. Rain falls, things grow." Kekem was too old to hold much stock in omens anyways- at least not small ones such as this. The idea that many years of marriage may be cursed simply because of clouds seemed ludicrous, and he had seen enough marriages to know that both good and bad would come of them regardless of the weather on their wedding night. Perhaps clouds would mean a small streak of bad luck, but generally nothing more than that; nothing he or anyone else should worry about unduly.

((.... I... cant read))
Gelaar furrowed his brows for a moment before letting out a short laugh, "you leave nothing up to the gods?" He turned his head to look at the older man. "Or is it just that you think I'm looking too much into the meaning of these clouds?"
