(Owlshadow has Blazestep, Ivypaw, Briarpaw, and Ripplestorm on a patrol and now they are hunting. Ivypaw and Briarpaw fought and now are basically being made to share a get along shirt lol. Speckleclaw, Minnowheart, Dawnripple, and Littlespring are hunting. Blackbrook is free. Ripplepelt is enjoying some sun, and some other cats are waking up/lingering in camp)
"I think they're big enough for Rootkit, Larkeye may need... A few to get full" he peeks his head over the edge and watches the fish. A few looked rather round- if he could catch one if those, it'd be excellent, "Doesn't hurt to bring a few back all the same.."

Ivypaw prodded Blazestep a bit roughly. The red tom jolted a bit. "Eh?" He blinked and yawned. Ivypaw rolled his eyes. "Did you catch any of that?" "Catch any of..." He yawned again. "What?" For the most part, Blazestep just followed behind patrols. Since cats normally changed when alarmed, he didn't notice any reason to pay more attention. His mind was back in his nest, curled up happily. "We're hunting." "Oh...cool..." Blazestep saw that the rest of the patrol had pretty much moved off, Owlshadow included. Which meant the apprentices were probably hunting together. Lucky him. Maybe he'd go take a nap somewhere.... "Have fun you two." With a wave of his tail, he bounded off. His long legs eating up distance with ease. Ivypaw watched the tom go with a rather disapproving look. He heaved a sigh before heading in the direction Briarpaw had wanted.

Strawberrypaw laid down on the ground of the camp. She began to lightly groom herself. She felt discouraged by the tinyness of her paws and legs. She blushed just a little as she cleaned herself.

"You know, he may be lazy but once you poke and prod he really is a great mentor." Briarpaw had the patience for it, he had two smaller family members who pushed at his buttons. His mentor just needed a bit of Briarpaw being insistent and he eventually conceded, if just to get him to lay off of it.
The young tom could feel Ivypaw wasn't impressed with Blazestep... So maybe Ivypaw wasn't impressed with him? Thought that he wasn't going to end up a capable warrior? He frowns at that.
"How do we want to do this" Owlshadow wanted them to work together. "We could just hunt seperately. Or if we find something maybe we can try and... Have one chase it to the other cat?" He had heard that worked with rabbits. If they blocked the hole to their burrow and one cat chased it to the other, they could often times pin it down easier. The tom probably preferred to pretend they worked together and actually hunt seperately.

(shoot meant to make these one)
Larkeye eventually does let her kits out of the den. The two bolt off and the queen is hurrying after them. But the two just find a comfortable spot and sit, however their gaze is intently on the clan. Larkeye had thought this was odd, the staring and whispering, but it was what her kits did and Blackbrook seemed to think they'd grow out of it.
So the queen watches the sky warily, sits close to them and begins to groom herself.
She notices Strawberrypaw and sighs. The apprentice had been such a small kit. She was still a small apprentice. Was it right to let her go train like this? Wouldnt she get hurt? A bird could mistake her for a kit and carry her off! She may have been assured many times that the apprentice was capable, but she became so panicked.
"Strawberrypaw!" She calls. Maybe if the apprentice told her otherwise her nerves would cool.

Minnowheart smiles at Speckleclaw- she could feel him trying to be optimistic and it brightened her spirits. "Well if we need a lot then let's make sure we catch a lot!" She meowed in a chipper tone. Taking a few paces away from the tom, she stepped onto a stone jutting out of the stream. Carefully positioning her body so that her shadow matched the one set by the rock, she crouched down and waited. Eventually, she knew, the fish would swim too close.
----
Owlshadow scowled at Blazestep wandering off sleepily and watched the apprentice's chatter from below him, high up in the tree tops. The mossy cover cast shadows which his gray pelt mixed in with, and he stayed quiet as a mouse. Impatience wore on him though, and he desperately hoped that the apprentices would come up with a plan soon. More than once his thoughts ran too Blazestep, his pelt prickling with hatred. What good was some lazy, sleepwalking cat for the clan? As deputy, he hated having to babysit his clanmates like this. He knew Cloudclan cats had a history of being flighty and thoughtless but it still drove him to madness to see cats be so slow and repetitive-like. The clan would be better off without him...
-------
Mosspaw pricked his ears, hearing the sound of Larkeye and her kits entering the clearing. He tilted his head as they greeted Strawberrypaw, the dainty she-cat apprentice he shared his den with. She was a mystery to him- always with her mind on something but too embarrassed to talk about it when you asked. He wondered how she was feeling today, and listened from afar as the queen spoke to her.

"I'll take your word for it." Ivypaw flicked his tail. He would have gotten tired of Blazestep very quickly. He heaved a sigh. "Owlshadow will have our heads if we don't do what he expects us to, even if he never specified." His whiskers twitched. "We'll have to hunt together..."
Blazestep found a sunny spot a ways away and curled up, purring quietly. He could get back to his dreams at last. The red tom fell asleep quickly.

Here)
Ripplestorm growled as the squirrel races to the top most branches. He flicks his ear annoyed. He turned and look for something else to hunt. Next time, he would be a lot more careful.
Littlespring pounces on a frog and kills it. She buries it and looks towards Dawnripple. The orange she-cat was watching a mouse as it drank from the stream.

"alright..." Briarpaw relents. How did the other apprentice want to do this? He scents the air and tilts his ears. Nothing was close except a few birds up in the trees, but they surely weren't coming down too join them anytime soon. If they climbed a tree they could probably bring a nest full of eggs down, but the bird was more ideal. "What's Owlshadow taught you about hunting in groups?"
~~~
Speckleclaw certainly didn't mind chatter, just like he didn't mind silence. This time with Minnowheart was relaxing. He goes up stream from her a bit where there are horsetails and it is calmer. Fish rested there often enough, and he wouldnt scare them from traveling up to the she-cat.
Larkeye's eyes soften and she purrs, Strawberrypaw was such a sweet small thing. "Come sit with me, Rootkit and Heatherkit? We miss you" She had grown close to Strawberry paws mother during her pregnancy, and the apprentice was practically one of her own. "How has your training been going...? I miss seeing you"
Larkeye leans down to nuzzle her head between the apprentices ears, "Training is so hard," she didn't want to say, 'especially for someone so small', "It'll all come together in time.." she wishes that she could have kept the apprentice in her den as a kit for longer. She had thrown a fit in front of the leader, Speckleclaw had only barely been able to calm her. The kits mentor could bat her away too hard, she could break something, fall, slip- so many things that= if she was just allowed to stay in the den until she was bigger- could be avoided. Strawberrypaw had probably heard enough of her paranoia when in the den though. She... really did want to be excited for her. "What's going on with Battle training...? Is Shyfawn being gentle enough? Do I need to speak with her- I know she is a very kind hearted cat, but-" No. Shyfawn wasn't the type to press her apprentice too hard.
"Rootkit and Heatherkit miss you too" she coos, and her two kits stop whispering between themselves to stare at Strawberrypaw. Briarpaw was in the apprentice den with Strawberrypaw. She hoped he was watching out for her.
"Communication is key." Ivypaw flicked his tail. "We have to make sure we know who does what before we come across the prey." His whiskers twitched. He didn't normally hunt or fight with anybody else. He supposed it could be good training, even if it was with Briarpaw.
(We most definitely can! Want me to start the interaction or do you want to. And the SHADE Ivypaw. Even if it is Briarpaw x'D )
"Alright." The two would most likely run into mice, there was the chance they'd run into a rabbit or two.. Ivypaw was older, he had more training. Briarpaw shifts his feet. Would it be better for the older apprentice to chase the prey to Briarpaw, because he would know better ways to control the prey where they wanted it to go, or would it be better for Briarpaw to chase it and have Ivypaw be able to fix any mistakes he made and do the killing blow? "...Would you be opposed to me chasing the prey to you? Then you can do the final blow? Or is there a method you think works better for these kinds of things." He was willing to learn.
Larkeye expected the kit would be too light for any real damage to start... The kits strengths would not come from force, with someone her size it'd be speed and cunning that would do her well. She puffs her fur and lets out a huff, "You are not pathetic Strawberrypaw." She scoops the apprentice close, "You're just small. That isn't bad. It just leads for new challenges. Shyfawn will find the best ways to teach you soon enough. You'll turn into a mighty warrior." She promises, though she wishes she hadn't. All paranoid thoughts tell her that the apprentice could be hurt, and while the thoughts often ate at her... she could push them for her family.
As none of the other cats in the clan needed medical attention, the tom took a moment to enjoy the sun heating up the camp. It would be an excellent day to go herb hunting, but there was a pushing in the back of his mind.
Perhaps...the ancestors had something to share with him today.
There were no obvious signs for him to decipher now, but a daunting dream from days ago lingered. Dawn will save the clan. He had stared hard at Dawnripple for days after the omen. Save the clan for what? He could only guess, but the mischevious warrior was not one he would peg for being the saving the clan type.
He carefully plucks a piece of prey from the pile and moves towards the leaders den. It was time to share the message, he had duties after all... And this omen didn't point out any of his particularly unsavory deeds.
"Munestar, my beloved leader, are you awake?" The leader was quite the character, and Blackbrook made a point to keep himself in her good light... though he did that for all of the clan cats. "I have brought you a squirrel"
One must simply keep himself out of watchful eyes..
Rp: Munestar laid in her nest, having some time to herself. She had gotten quite thin do to letting the clan eat first, and being to busy she forgets to eat. What am i going to do with myself? She thought.
She sighed, laying her head on her paws. But quickly sat up when Blackbrook called out to her from the entrance, "Yes Blackbrook." She mewed as she smiled when the tom padded through the entrance, She dipped her head as in thanks. Her tummy rumbled when she saw the squirrel, and she giggled.
"What brings you to my den?" She asked the tom, her mind rushing to the thought Has Starclan given us a message? Has Someone fallen ill? Has Someone died? She shook her head at that last thought, Don't be silly Munestar.
(Sorry about my late reply, was out with my roommates)
Ah. Their leader. Ever selfless. Getting oh so thin in the ribs.
Blackbrook sets the squirrel down in front of her and nudges it forward, "You need to eat, the seasons are changing. Soon there will be enough prey all shall eat" He looks her over, attentive as always, "I am here to make sure you eat, cannot have you withering away on us." Though, she easily could do so. He watches as she grows panicked.
Silly, but smart, medicine cats could visit for leisure, but were often times visiting for a reason.
He doesn't answer her for a moment and lets her think all that she can.
Was someone kitting? Had they lost them? Had someone got lost or injured? Was there no food?
"Munestar... do not worry your head so," he soothes and brushes his chin over her head before pulling back, "I do have something to talk about, but no cats are harmed, I assure you. The clan is well."
(DAN BLACKBROOK such a smoothtalker lmao)
Minnowheart yawned in the afternoon sun, her back warm and her paws cool- the perfect combination. She wished she could spent all day by the river fishing, but Owlshadow had put her in charge of the patrol and she was sure he would be waiting for her to return. She cast her gaze up to Speckleclaw, who had also found a fair share of fish, although a bit small. Minnowheart comforted herself with the idea that lots of small fish were just as good as a few big fish, and she hooked one last slimy body out of the water before taking her prey into her mouth and padding over to the tom. The three small fish, she decided, were probably as much as she was going to get that day anyway. "Hey, I think I've got enough. The fish are small but I think they'll be okay. Good idea coming to fish!" She meowed appreciatively. prey had been running slow everywhere in the forest with the cold, but it seemed that finally at least one part of the territory was producing prey. She just hoped the other two cats had managed to catch something.
------
Owlshadow stifled a yawn. The apprentices seemed to be spending a lot of time talking and not very much time actually doing something. He decided with a shrug that he might as well go try to find something for himself if he was just going to be wasting time watching the apprentice's prickle their pelts at eachother. Slowly, he slinked out of the tree, heading off into an area of dense undergrowth to look for any creatures coming out of their dens.
------
Mosspaw frowned, overhearing Strawberrypaw speak so lowly of herself. Shyfawn didn't seem to be upset with her or anything- why did she think she was pathetic. Choosing to intervene, he got up and padded over, tilting his head at the she-cat "Hey, Strawberrypaw. I haven't heard anything from Ripplestorm today about training so i thought I might go out for a hunt. Do you wanna come with me?" He asked, trying to seem friendly. He had heard that the she-cat was pretty good at hunting, so perhaps they might catch something together. Maybe she wanted to get out of camp as much as he did, after being left behind for patrols.
Ripplestorm wondered when he should meet up with Owlshadow and the two apprentices.
Dawnripple and Littlespring end up catching a good bit of prey. They head back to the others to see if they were ready to head back or not.
(Ya gotta be if you don't want people to know you're a black hearted killer with evil intentions lol)
He had been intent on his fishing while they were there, and though he would have to groom the scent of fish out of his fur, he was very content. Seeing as Minnowheart seemed to be stopping for now, the tom pulls his fish towards the she-cat. Speckleclaw looks at the combination of their prey and nods his head appreciatively. It was a good haul, it would be even better when the fish were larger. "I'm glad we did so too.. Rootkit will eat." He was eyeing one of the largest fish he had caught and planned on delivering it to the kit personally.
Whatever she didn't finish, Heatherkit would gladly claim.
"Shall we head back and wait for the other two then?"
~~~~~
Larkeye gives the new apprentice a wary glance. Two apprentices going out to hunt by themselves?
Her brain screamed danger.
"Ah. Mosspaw. Good morning." Her initial reaction was to tell the apprentice to leave Strawberrypaw alone... Danger danger danger. The woods were dangerous. Cats so small could be lost so easily. The warrior in her whispered that Strawberrypaw needed the encouragement, that getting out with another apprentice could boost her confidence. "Why... why don't you go along, Strawberrypaw...?"

Ivypaw shrugged again. "That depends. I don't know your strengths. I can do either, really. But which one do you prefer?" His ear twitched in annoyance. Yea, they were talking more than doing, but Ivypaw didn't want to mess anything up and have to spend even more time in the presence of others. Most already knew that he didn't like working with other cats.
