Littlespring pads out of her den and stretches her body. She looked around noticing that not many of her clanmates were up. "Figures." She mumbled quietly to herself. The small black and white she-cat wondered if anyone wanted to come hunting with her. Wonder where Stormberry is She thought to herself. Littlespring would sometimes catch the bigger she-cat staring at her.
Ripplestorm observed Mosspaw and Lizardpaw as they moved to the fresh kill pile. He would let Mosspaw eat then go out and begin training.

"I'm not familiar with speaking to anyone other than like that. It's a trait, honestly..." I admitted after a small sigh. Turning aside to face Stormberry, things were starting to get interesting around the camp. "Huh? Oh, that a squirrel your apprentice's got? Cool! Stormpaw's got some competition." I mildly joked with a rather amused grin. "Well, that's Lizardpaw located, now for Stormpaw."

Mosspaw's fur ruffled, not from embarassment but from discomfort at being in the middle of such a jumble of cats. Lynxsoul's yowling irked him, and he stifled a hot comment before making eye contact with his own mentor, Ripplestorm. He seemed to be okay with him eating before they went out, so he grabbed one of the mice off of the pile and padded over to him, dropping it at his mentor's feet. If he was going to be caught doing something that could be held against him, he at least wanted to cover his tail before someone else called him out on it. "Ripplestorm, do you want to share a mouse before we go out?" He asked his mentor, sitting in front of him. He didn't suppose Ivypaw ever brought fresh kill to his mentor in the morning... perhaps he would try to make a habit out of it. Briefly, he turned his head in the direction of the elders den, watching Lizardpaw's ruffled tail disappear into the opening. He felt a bit sorry for her, but then again, maybe she needed to learn how to act more calm and collected in such situations. He wondered how the other apprentices would fare on their first day.

Stormberry shook her head as her apprentice dashed off to the elders den. At least she had already started the lesson, reminding her apprentice of the clan code. Though she should know that by now. Oh well, better now than never. As she watched her apprentice scurry off, and Lynxsoul walk over to the apprentice den, she noticed Littlespring pad out of the warrior's den. Stormberry thought to herself if she should invite Littlespring to their hunting patrol. It would be nice to spend time with her rather than stare at her from afar. She could give some advice to the apprentices. "Hey Littlespring! Feel like joining a hunting patrol?"

Ripplestorm nodded his head. "Yes, we could both use some strength. You can have the first bite though." He thought it was nice that Mosspaw wanted to share some prey with him.
"Yes! I was hoping of joining one." Littlespring called out as she walked over to Stormberry. "Funny, I don't think we have ever hunted together."

"That maybe true. We'll do it now then!", she shouted back to Littlespring. Stormberry turned her head to her slightly flushed apprentice. "Well, you, me, Lynxsoul, Stormpaw, and Littlespring are all going on a hunting patrol. We figured that way we can get Stormpaw's tour of the territory done, and have a hunting lesson." Stormberry took a glance over at the apprentice's den, and saw Lynxsoul was having a bit of difficulty waking his apprentice up. "We'll probably in a few moements, as soon as Stormpaw wakes up." She turned her head back to Lizardpaw. "Before we head out, I'll give you a few tips I remembered from our last hunting session. You tend to keep your hindlegs up in a Hunter's Crouch, make sure to watch for that. And also, a scent is stale if it's fainter and not as robust. Got it?"

Rootpaw and Heatherpaw turn tired gazes towards Minnowheart, after a moment Heatherpaw bolts to awakeness, "It was great! Neither of us slept a wink!" And for once the two sisters weren't gossiping.
Rootpaw gives a quiet yawn and then turns to agree, "The stars were pretty... I cannot believe we're actually here!"
----
Blackbrook turns from the herbs he was sorting- he had let his apprentice sleep, the thing surely needed it with all the information he was going to shove in there.
"Ah. Owlshadow. Just the cat I have been meaning to talk to. Would you like to go for a stroll?" ----
Briarpaw slinks out of the den in the morning and curls his back into a high arch. Larkeye had certainly made a...spectacle out of last night, but everyone seemed to have moved on from it since the morning... Hopefully.
The clan certainly seemed to be in movement today, and he wonders if anyone has checked on Ripplepelt yet...

"Yu-- Wait, Stormpaw's coming with us?" Lizardpaw stopped mid-word, realizing that the ex-loner's name had been listed by the she-cat. She frowned a bit, staring at Stormberry expectantly, her brows suddenly furrowed. What type of luck got her stuck with... him on the patrol, she wanted one of the new apprentices, but it had to be him! The young she-cat's tail noticeably twitching.
"Why is Stormpaw.. going on a patrol with us?" Her tone darkened. "He's a new apprentice, and needs to learn the territory as you did. And Lynxsoul is a good friend of mine, so it'd be helpful if I gave him advice on being a mentor." Stormberry's face went stone cold serious. "Do you have a problem with him? Because if so, I will gladly send you to clean ticks off of Ripplepelt all day, then send you on a hunting patrol by yourself at twilight, and only then may you eat prey. But if you have no quarrels, we can have a nice hunting patrol, and we can share prey together. Do I make myself clear?" Stormberry almost never ordered Lizardpaw to do anything. The she-cat was a wonderful leader, her instincts letting her have a clear head, and good goals. But Stormberry had a reason to be this strict with her apprentice. Lizardpaw obviously was discriminating against Stormpaw since he was a former loner. And that did not sit well with Stormberry.

Littlespring twitches her whiskers in amusement. She didn't think Stormberry could get like this. She was impressed to say the least.

((Aaaaah, sorry for not doing anything. Got caught up in studying for an exam >_>))
Novalight exited the warriors' den, pausing to stretch after putting a small amount of distance between him and the den entrance. It looked like some of the clan was awake already, so he had some others to talk to. He made his way off to be further from the den, then sat down.

She weighed her choices, but rudely and harshly spat her response back.
"I'll be off to clean Ripplepelt of ticks then." Lizardpaw shot a glare at her, what was with Stormberry's attitude to her not wanting to go on a patrol with someone she didn't trust and didn't feel comfortable with? She could stand to wait till twilight to eat and hunt, or maybe just sneak out of camp sometime during the day.. Her decisions recently had been fairly rebellious, completely opposite of her goodie two-paws behaviour at the start of her apprenticeship. It was like the inclusion of the new cats in the clan had set something off in her, something.. not very good. Lizardpaw sharply turned, already off to the medicine cat den for mouse bile. Stormberry turned to Littlespring and said in a kind voice,"Give me second." She padded quickly over to Lizardpaw and said, "Follow me, now." Stormberry ducked under a bush and sat in a small clearing next to the camp, where she knew no one would be prying on their conversation. Lizardpaw sat down in a huff, and it was not helping Stormberry calm down. She'd never get anywhere with Lizardpaw like this. She took a deep breath and looked her apprentice right in the eyes. "Can you tell me why you are so against going on a hunting patrol with this cat?" Stormberry spoke in a low tone, it boarding on stern and comforting.

I stood there in silence at what I just heard. The exchange between Stormberry and Lizardpaw caused me to flinch in disbelief. I sighed a few moments later, tapping my paw on the ground in impatience. That's no way to speak to your Mentor... I thought. Closing my eyes and receiving no response from my own apprentice, things were starting to get disorganized. I frowned, trying to keep myself calm, despite my urge to be more commanding about this. I had to be careful to try not to boss around others, given my status... Just had to wait till they got back, I suppose. I sighed a second later, falling quiet.
[I'll admit it's really weird keeping his old personality given he has a downgraded role. Hope I'm doing a good job so far.]

Stormberry's heart shattered. Lizardpaw was really demonzing this poor apprentice just because he wasn't clan born. Her ears drooped, her shoulders slumped, and her face was devastated. She looked away, the pain of what her apprentice had just said was almost to much to bear. Where did she go wrong? She had always told Lizardpaw that clan cats were family, that of course meant previous rouges and loners.
Stormberry thought back to her old life as a kit. Flashes of milk-scent, a cold thunderpath, greasy fingers of a twoleg, Kaz's scrathes and yowls in her face, Gull's screams as the sun-drown place took her with the sun. She opened her eyes, Lizardpaw had snapped out of her fit, and looked concerned. But that was still not enough to bring Stormberry back to reality.
Pain, sorrow, the voice was back. You're not enough, it said. You've failed as her mentor,it said. Join Gull, you'll be happier with her, it said. All Stormberry could do was whisper,"Tell me, where do rouges and loners go when they die?" Stormberry spoke even softer,"Where will I go when I die?"

Stormberry immediately realized Lizardpaw was running off, and ran to follow her. Stormberry's legs were longer and stronger than Lizardpaw's, but the she-cat was much smaller, and could hide much better than she could run. Stormberry stopped to try and pick up Lizardpaw's scent. All the while, Stormberry felt terrible. The ache in her heart was almost to much to bear, and her pads were getting cut up after running through the forest. Stormberry felt so awful, climbing the Moonpoint and flinging herself off it wasn't sound like such a bad idea. She kept puishing herself mentally as she searched for her apprentice. This is what you get. You shouldn't have told her. You should've just kept it in. Your only good for hurting those you love. You can't ever do anything right. Stormberry started to pad slower and slower, exhaustion had always been a kind friend, and it had such a sweet call.
But the thought of leaving Lizardpaw alone after that was a much worse fate. So she trekked on. Eventually, Stormberry found Lizardpaw, huddled and sobbing beneath a tree. Limping over, she laid down next to Lizardpaw, and started to wash her apprentice's ears. Between licks she asked,"Can I tell you of how I got to the clan?"

Stormpaw padded back into camp, looking for his mentor. He had chased a mouse he had seen out of camp, and followed it through the forest. The mouse outsmarted him by quickly turning in front of a tree, and because of his larger size he hadn't turned in time. He hit his head and was knocked out. He would have gone to the Medicine Cat den but... he was always wary of the Medicine Cat, Blackbrook. He didn't like the look in his eyes when he was helping a cat. He hoped he wouldn't get in trouble, but Lynxsoul was a reasonable cat, and he was sure he wouldn't get in to much trouble. Looking around hopefully he sat outside the Apprentice den, hoping to see his mentor.
