Ah I'm sorry I haven't updated yet you guys! ;-;
Life has been crazy as of late, but I haven't quit writing this! I actually have half of the next chapter done, I just gotta finish it lol.
I also wanted to make a quick special announcement! Once Dark Horizons (last in this trilogy) ends, I will making a Super Edition-like 'fic of this story. It will highlight everything that led up to this story so far, and will be told from Echostar's POV while she's an apprentice c:

TIME FOR BOOK TWO (and please ping me whenever you update so i can stay on top of this!)
prologue
i wish i knew who all these prologue queens were. or if they're the same cat. the prologues of both stories are intriguing, but have a deep disconnect from the rest of the story so far.
chapter one
first of all, NICE dividers. very very very good.
so is this in the foggy ravine? or nah? "gorge" is very nondescript in relation to the rest of the territories we've seen so far.
these cats tried to make war on leafclan. they may be shadow's birth family of sorts, but they showed awful violence against the only cats he remembers. how can he be so eager and receptive?
OMG what did shadow fall into? the poor child.
chapter two
“I don't know[,] Firepaw[.]" [She] frowned. frowning is not a dialogue tag because it's not a speaking verb, so you need a period in the dialogue and a capital letter following. also, comma for direct address
mmmm i love mentor apprentice confrontation. it shows the best and worst of your characters.
great. everyone is just falling into rivers and jaws and things. kids. stop this.
chapter three
it's been a month and shadow still doesn't know that these rogues don't exactly play nice? and if this is how they train, how come cinder isn't more scarred? how could this have been hidden from shadow?
continuity questions aside, excellent fight scene. it moves at a good clip and you still capture shadow's horror at watching it unfold.
shadow blinded dune? when he was six moons old or younger? despite dune being a bigger and older cat? how on earth did that happen?
chapter four
oooh, who's the snappy cat who saved firepaw? i want to see an alliance. [wiggles eyebrows]
IT'S STONETAIL, WHO EARNS A SPOT ON MY FAVORITES LIST PURELY BY HAVING A NAME I DEEPLY APPROVE OF. hey, dude. how's it hanging?

i hate hawk more and more with every passing moment. found family is clearly leagues better than blood family at this point.
pine is also making my adoption list because there is absolutely no way she deserved that.
chapter six

awwwww what a sweet moment with alderleaf. and firepaw, you can do it. you've got stuff to deal with, emotional baggage and stuff, but you can do it.

The prologues will make more sense by the middle-end of Gathering Storm, and the significance of the queen in the story overall. Right now it's just to have reader's guess/theorize just who she is. The queen in the prologue is indeed the same queen from the last prologue. Although I didn't make it super clear, Gathering Storm's Prologue takes place a bit before Uncast Stone's Prologue. Also, you guess who Blackmist is? c;
Shadow is very naive, and wants to believe the best of everyone. He also is desperate to prove himself to his family, and even though they scare him (I mean look at Hawk), he tries his best to make sense of it all. Of course, after Pine's treatment he is fully convinced that his family is insane. As for the thing with Dune, it happened to be during a training bit shortly before Shadow wound up in the river. It will be elaborated more on, and how it actually happened soon enough c:

And yup! Blackstar was just a young warrior then, not even deputy yet. At the time PineClan's leader was a she-cat named Lavenderstar (warrior name Lavendersky) c:
Yeah, Shadow is just a precious smol child. When the rogues attacked LeafClan, Shadow assumed it was due to them thinking he was being held against his will and that they were rescuing him. Hawk has a history with the Clans, which will also become clear as to why Echostar knew who he was.
