Dawnpaw seated himself patiently near the camp entrance as he waited for the hunting patrol to gather. He noticed Silentflare and Hollowpaw near the apprentice’s den, and he was more than happy to go on patrol with Hollowpaw. She was dedicated and clever, and he was social by nature anyway.

Hollowpaw nodded and stood up, “Yeah, I’m ready.” She mewed, following after him.
Sunthroat approached Dawnpaw and gave him a nod, “I’m glad to see you’re ready.” He mewed, sitting down while they waited for Silentflare and Hollowpaw.

Sunthroat approached Dawnpaw and gave him a nod, “I’m glad to see you’re ready.” He mewed, sitting down while they waited for Silentflare and Hollowpaw. "I woke up early so I could help the younger apprentices with the nests." Dawnpaw admitted lightly as he greeted his mentor with a respectful dip of his head. "Once we finished that, I just decided to wait for everyone else before we headed off. I'm glad Hollowpaw is coming." He admitted kindly, ear flicking.

Plumfur settled into her nest, curling into the soft moss and feathers. "Thank you." she murmured, her tone full of affection despite her current state. She didn't know what she'd do without him. "I'll see if I feel better first before making you get stuff for me." Nighteye thought on it for a moment before giving a shrug. "I can't really see it. My mind's been focused on the Clan above all else," he answered. "And I believe Slatesight's are enough for me to handle." He didn't interact with them too much, but he knew of the drama that entailed his brother's relationship with his mate and kits. Dapplenight settled close to her, eyes rovering over her for any sudden movements, before he rested his head on his paws and nuzzled close to her. "Alright. I trust your judgement, it's your body and you know best for it. I love you, Plumfur." He mewed gently. "Mm. I see." Yarrowcloud nodded, knowing cats before that had the same thought process. Not every cat needed to have kits, after all, and not everyone was suited for them either. "You are a good brother and uncle, whether or not Slatesight's kits recognize it as such. I know how Lightningstar works, and there is a reason he has been giving you apprentices recently. It's that focus you have to your duties." Yarrowcloud explained, pride in his voice once again.

Silentflare nodded and turned to head towards the camp entrance. He nodded at Sunthroat before speaking. “Are we all ready?”

Sunthroat gave his apprentice a smile and stood up when Silentflare and Hollowpaw came over, “Lead the way.” He said, letting Silentflarelead the way out.
Hollowpaw flicked her ear in greeting to Dawnpaw, following behind Silentflare. Maybe if she did a good job at hunting today, Silentflare would see that he didn’t have to take her training so slow.

Dawnpaw followed quickly after Sunthroat, smiling at Hollowpaw even if he knew she would not be able to see him. He hoped his voice conveyed his mirth instead. "Hey, Hollowpaw. I'm hoping to catch a squirrel or two out here if luck's on our side. Anything you're hoping to catch? We could make a competition out of it." He offered, though his voice was warmly humored.

Silentflare headed towards the tallpines. It was the least affected by the fire and always had the most prey. As they walked he looked at Hollowpaw, hoping she’d keep up today.

Hollowpaw gave a shrug, “I’d like to catch some birds. They’re a little difficult for me to catch, especially if they fly off before I get to them. So it would be nice to practice a bit.” She said. The blind apprentice was managing to keep up, sidestepping around a tree root in her way.

The blind apprentice was managing to keep up, sidestepping around a tree root in her way. "You'll catch them." Dawnpaw assured, hopping over the tree root instead of side-stepping it with a small chuckle. "That, I have no doubt. Especially since you seem determined to. What's gonna stop that kind of determination?" He asked, glancing up at Silentflare and Sunthroat. "I wonder where we're hunting today."

Silentflare looked at the apprentices once they got to the tallpines. “Ok what do you smell?” He asked Hollowpaw.

Dawnpaw remained politely quiet to let Hollowpaw answer her mentor, his eyes flickering to Sunthroat instead as he lifted his own muzzle up and carefully scented the air. Fresh moss scent on the roots nearby, a good sign of growth beginning and water nearby, probably from one of the small streams. He could scent the two Warriors and Hollowpaw, as well as a faint trace of bird, but this particular trace seemed pretty stale, so he ignored it for now.

Hollowpaw scented the air at Silentflare’s question, “There’s a couple mice that way.” She mewed, turning her head in the direction and pointing with her muzzle. Then turned in the other direction, “And a squirrel over there, it sounds like it’s digging around in the pine needles.”
Sunthroat flicked his ear at Hollowpaw’s answer, it appeared she was getting along nicely in her training. He turned to Dawnpaw, “Anything you can scent, Dawnpaw?” He asked

"I've got the mouse scent now, but there's also alot of new moss scents." He looked up quickly as soon as he heard a flutter up in the branches of the trees. He smiled lightly. "I can see a bird, that's for sure. It's very high up there though."

Silentflare nodded his head. “Good job.” He spoke. She was actually quite a good tracker for being so young. Her enhanced hearing and smelling being good for that. “Do you think you can catch one?”

Sounds good to me! Wanna start?) (Sure!) Training a new apprentice certainly had not been easy so far. Frostmoon was honored to even be given a chance to after her loss at Sunningrocks, and while she worked as hard as she could, a part of her still couldn’t shake off that doubt. Her mother and father had mentored alot of apprentices, and while Hornetstrike tried many times to remind her that his apprenticeships were less than normal for an average Warrior, it still reminded her that she had big paws to fill. Above all, her heart ached each time she patrolled with Ghostscreech. She wanted to prove she could be a warrior he could trust, and yet it was hard to even look him in the eyes sometimes. It didn’t help that surely other cats in the clan liked him in the ways she did, and that they didn’t have an embarrassing failure of a battle on their name. The young warrior took in a heavy breath, before releasing it and scowling softly at the ground. Mothsong flicked her tail, waiting to go out. Well, waiting for Owlfrost, who she happened to be paired with for hunting today. She felt her stomach curl, thinking of the way she used to shun and judge him for being half-clan. And yet, he had shown sympathy for her when it was revealed who her father truly was. Her ears fell a bit, though the stubborn she-cat remained silent in contemplation.
