Plumfur shuddered at the idea of facing an owl. The thought of getting scooped up in their talons, never to be seen again... she shook the thought out of her head. Now wasn't the time to be worrying. "I honestly haven't noticed." she admitted. She was surprised that Dapplenight was so eager to talk about who other cats liked. "Who do you think they are?" “She’s always talked about Wolfshadow, how he’s her biggest competition, how she could take him in a fight if they ever fought...Oh, uhm. That’s kind of how she shows she likes you, you know. But...lately she talks about Jaytalon alot too. I think she still worries that he’s mad at her for supporting Shadeclaw at first...” Dapplenight admitted.

Frostmoon gave a sudden start as a furry shape darted out from around her paw, slipping out of the den and right towards the Thunderclan deputy. Frostmoon lifted her voice quickly. "Mouse coming!" As she continued to dig around the nest, trusting that Ghostscreech would catch the prey. Ghostscreech quickly swiped a paw out and caught the mouse, breaking its neck and setting it aside as he waited to see if Frostmoon found anymore.

Aspenfall nodded. He wouldn't mind the trip being a little quicker. "Sure. I'm looking for chervil right now. Both the leaves and roots are helpful, so once we find some, I'll need your help carrying both." he explained. Plumfur heard a yelp and turned, only to see the cat she was looking for. "Dapplenight? What happened?" she called, heading over to him. "You didn't get hurt just now, right..?" ”Okay! What do they look like again? I can help dig some up for you.” Arcticbreeze offered, looking around.

Tigerpaw looked up as his mentor approach. A flash of fear went through him at the mention of battle training. He thought back to when Shadeclan took him training, how hard it was and the pain he felt after. He didn't meet his mentors gaze, just nodded. "Yeah ok." He agreed. "Sunthroat." Lightingstar meowed as he spotted the former deputy. "Are you busy?" He asked him. Featherfoot blinked at the small change he noticed in his apprentice. Tigerpaw seemed withdrawn by something. Featherfoot looked at him for a moment longer before he ushered lightly. “Let’s go to the training hollow then. I know that Southmist and Scarletpaw probably are trying to get ahead of us, but we can’t let that happen, right?” He tried to encourage.

Tigerpaw tried to brighten up at the mention of his sister getting ahead of him. "Oh uh no I can't let that happen." He spoke, trying to push the fear from his mind. Featherfoot wasn't Shadeclaw. He'd never hurt him... but thats what they thought about Shadeclaw too.
"Take a walk with me?" Lightingstar asked him, nodding his head towards the camp entrance.

She sighed, mewing. “I think there’s baby mice in there. Should we pull those out too?”

You’re in good paws.” Featherfoot perked up, hoping Tigerpaw would keep upbeat if they got out and trained. “I remember this big old tom named Lester in Twolegplace. He once won a fight with a twiggy little rouge by sitting on him! Just sitting on him. Can you imagine that? Twolegplace fights could be so silly sometimes. But clan battles are way more skillful and calculated. You’re a clever tom. I know you’ll do just fine.” He praised, moving to lead Tigerpaw out of camp.

“How big are they?” Ghostscreech asked, trying to see into the nest, “Can you see them?” If they were still newborn, they would die anyways, but if they were bigger, they might be able to fill the bellies of some of the queens and older kits.
Sunthroat chuckled at Lightningstar’s response and walked beside him in silence until the leader spoke. He flicked his ear in slight surprise at his question, “I think Ghostscreech is doing a wonderful job. He could use a little more confidence in himself, but I believe he’ll get there in time.” Sunthroat answered honestly, “Why the sudden interest in my opinion on Ghostscreech?”

“I think...maybe they’re strong because they know that they still have you. They still have Featherfoot, and Flurrykit and Drizzlekit. I sometimes see the way Peachdapple grooms Yarrowcloud’s fur, like all the moons they’ve spent growing older haven’t passed at all since they were kits together. That’s the strength that kin can give you, yeah?” Midnightstream murmured, before she looked at Darktail and mewed softly. “I...I think you’d do better than you think, with kits.” Darktail nodded slowly, "I suppose you're right about my parents and Peachdapple, they all have unbreakable bonds and as long as they still have some kin, I suppose they can keep going. Do you really think I'd be good with kits? I feel very awkward with Flurrykit and Drizzlekit... like I'm going to somehow hurt them or something."

Some of them had fur, so they weren't newborne. I say we pull this one up and take them all back. If anything, they'd be good morsels for the older kits and elders." Frostmoon nodded, stepping aside to let Ghostscreech feel in the nest. "You can check them though and make the decision. You're the deputy, not me." She teased, smiling faintly.

"The rouges...the first time they attacked, they nearly killed Orangebreeze. We only survived that day because Vixenrose pushed us into the bramble wall and guarded us. Autumnfall never forgot that. She's...she's protective, and it can lead to her making rash decisions if she thinks it'll keep us safe. She and Jaytalon were friends before that. She's been awkward around him, and it gets a bit stressful for me to watch it. Uhm...I'm just not very good at making friends in general so..." He trailed off, before looking gently at her. "But...well, I'm good at picking the best mate in the clan."

"The fact that you worry about it tells me that you would never hurt them. Maybe, if you want, you and I can both go and spend some time with them. At least, while this stupid bee-sting heals." She offered.

Darktail's flicked his ears, mind flashing with strange feelings of hurting his own kin, where was that coming from? He'd never hurt anyone in his clan. He sighed, looking back at Midnighstream with wide eyes. "Maybe, I don't think I've had any dreams of hurting any cats, but I have these... feelings. I would feel a lot better if you were with me when I talked to them. I know I would never hurt them intentionally, but I'm still worried about it."

They make you feel needed, no matter what their little desires are." She purred then, thinking of the few kits in the nursery with fondness. "Flurrykit and Drizzlekit will be apprentices soon, no doubt. May as well visit your little niece and nephew while they're still this young and boundless."

Plumfur felt flushed at the compliment, brushing up against Dapplenight. "Thank you... but perhaps that's one of my strengths as well." The fact that she had someone in the Clan to trust and talk to meant more to her now than ever before. She loved her siblings, but they were quite different from her in temperament. "I remember that fight clearly... I would hope Autumnfall does as well. Do you trust her?" she asked.

And...and I'd fight my hardest to protect you too, Plumfur."

"Then I think you have your answer with Autumnfall. I'm sure she'll figure it out. If I can, so can she, right..?" Plumfur reassured. "She sounds a lot like Magpiewing, actually... ready to challenge others all the time, yet so brave. I wish I could be more like her sometimes. But maybe I can protect you the way I am, like you just said."

His pelt warmed at her desiring to protect him in return. Admittedly, he liked that she very well could, and that he would feel safer with her. "You're more than brave enough." He assured kindly. The hunt was momentarily forgotten as he just enjoyed his time with his mate.

"Yeah. I'm glad we have them, though. We can account for our differences." Plumfur spoke. "And even though I'm not as brave as Magpiewing, I'm happy you think I'm enough..." She always thought of herself as too quiet and shy compared to her littermates.

Autumnpaw - Nursery - With Dawnpaw (Moonblazer)
The molly smiled at the tom softly before giving a small sigh. "I lost my mother at birth because she had always been weak. My father blamed me and also always told me that unless you were the best then you're not worth anything. He died never having had any shred of pride in me and I guess that's always stuck with me no matter what." She gave a weak noise as she finished the second nest she had been working on, fluffing it up a bit to make sure that it was nice and soft so that the queens and kits would get a good night's sleep. "It's nice to talk to someone who isn't so judgmental."

Tigerpaw forgot his worries for a few moments as he listened to Featherfoot. "Can you tell me more about the twoleg place?" He asked his mentor. "It sounds like a really weird place."

He was used to his mother’s kindness and his father’s steady support. Dawnpaw looked at Autumnpaw and mewed. “He may have thought that, but it’s not true at all. He was lucky to even have a kit, let alone a kit like you. You deserved better.”

You want to know more?” Featherfoot perked at the question. The trek to the training hollow would take some time, so he knew that talking about such things would be a good way to pass the time. “What could I possibly fit into so little time? Well, for starters, the cats there are all so incredibly different. Cats you would never even think were real! Some had markings that made them special to twolegs. All of them were very spoiled kittypets.” He chuckled. “Though, most are loners that wander the place. I was actually rescued by a she-cat with a funny voice. Fiona. That was her name. She and all her many, many kits. They brought me to Suki and Indigo, who raised me for many moons. Sadly, there was no trained Medicine cat. That’s why the scars on my back are so big. It took a long time to heal.” He explained, before blinking softly. “But there are frightening, mysterious cats there too. They called them Shadow Cats. Not like Shadowclan cats. These cats were more dangerous, more hostile than even Shadowclan. They’d travel in stealthy groups. None of the cats I was with ever really dared to cross into the territory where twolegnests grew bigger and bigger and bigger. They hunted there.” He sighed softly. “I think about Bloompelt and Cricketsun alot. They must surely be there together...and if the scents were any indication, then your brother is probably with them. At least we can assume that they’re safe, I hope.”

Darktail glanced at the nursery, still looking a bit nervous "Do you want to go see them now? I mean if you think we wouldn't be disturbing them? What do you think they'd want to do?" he asked, flicking his tail back and forth rather quickly, "What games do they like? Do you know?"

She gave a small sound, having grown a bit sad upon bringing up her family. "Thanks Dawnpaw. You know, I sometimes wonder how different I would have been if my mother had lived. How my personality and everything would have varied compared to now. If she had lived then would my father still be alive as well? When I'm alone, which is almost all the time since I don't really have any friends, I always end up thinking about things like that." She shook out her fur and stood up straight, flicking a piece of moss off of her ear as she did. "Sorry about that. I ramble sometimes."
