Nightkit woke up in the medicine den, feeling a faint tingle of excitement that he couldn't immediately place. Then he remembered, today he was going to be an apprentice at last! Even though he was older than his adopted siblings, he'd gotten sick the day before the ceremony. Sitting up, he began to wash himself, wanting to look as good as possible for his ceremony. He idly wondered who his mentor would be for a moment, before drawing a paw over his ears.

Ashflight wandered around. He didn't move to talk to his sister as he felt she had suddenly left him alone. He looked around for something to put his mind off things.

Nightkit finished grooming and sat in his nest, anxiously waiting for Lightningstar to call the traditional summons. Realizing it might be a while, he lay back down and rested his chin on his paws.
