( xD why does Steve kind of fit though? oh no, please don't worry about your posts! they look just fine to me! as for the wonderland characters, I really don't mind which ones I play. Eamon is talking quite a bit about Hatter right now, so it might be easiest for me to take them, but other than that I really don't mind. are there any characters you'd like? )
Eamon shrugged. "They'll be able to help. Not sure they'll want to, or do it in a way either of us understand, but they'll have answers." That was something that the stories got right, almost anyway. The Hatter liked to frustrate people. Not so much in riddles, but in avoiding questions and going off on tangents that went on forever. The more upset you got, the longer it went on. Getting answers took time and the ability to keep from demanding them now. That was a sure way to keep from ever getting them.

( I'll take Caterpillar, then, and then we can split the more minor characters when/if we get to them? like, deciding who writes the knaves is useless if we never get there. I'll probably post a quick description of both Hatter and Caterpiller and what they can do in a minute, just so we both know. I'll make sure to let you know, don't worry ^^ )
Eamon shrugged again. "Not if you do it right we won't. I've known these people for a long time, I can usually get them to help me." The only problem was that they'd known him for just as long. They all knew how he knew them, so the manipulation, while mostly friendly, went both ways. Usually, it was a game they'd play. It was fun. This was the complete opposite of fun, and it certainly wasn't a game. Hatter would see it as one nonetheless, he was sure, but he hoped he could tap into that.

"Nice enough," Eamon said. "He's interesting, certainly, but he's kind. Doesn't have a cruel bone in his body. And he can talk for hours. I don't doubt he talks to himself when nobody's around because getting him to shut up is so hard." He liked the guy. Sure, he was annoying and a little too happy to tease you, but it was all friendly.

Joachim Elijah Lively ~ Hatter, Mad Hatter, Kim has the ability to temporarily stop, slow or rewind the passage of 'time' as it exists in Wonderland (as inspired by his curse to live outside of time in the original story)
◦ mischievous ◦ kind ◦ humorous ◦ restless ◦ hardworking ◦ 'my dear, if you can't make someone laugh, what's the point?' ◦ incredibly fond of biscuits - with or without tea, doesn't matter ◦ bakes. all the time ◦ sews, too. when he's done with his hatmaking (or when he decides he's done, whichever comes first) he'll sit down and sew something else - clothes, usually ◦ talks constantly. to himself, to others, to animals, to inanimate objects in his house. doesn't know how to get to the point, ever. ◦ has few real friends but is friendly to most ◦ difficult to enrage, easy to amuse ◦ doesn't care how things go. avoids conflict like the plague, refuses to take sides, no matter who's on either one. ◦ cries often. most of the time for no reason at all, sometimes because he wants to. private about anything that causes this, or any emotion other than joy.
--- me then: "I'll post something quick, won't take long, most basic of personality descriptions" me now, hours later: crying a little, unsure - is it because it's 3am or because I love him, wants to write him somewhere else, properly, has so much to add. "i'm okay. it didn't take long" nah, but seriously, idk what happened. I have so much I want to add here but I won't. caterpillar will follow soon, I think.

Eamon couldn't help but chuckle. "He'll definitely tell us more than we ask for. The question is, will he give us information we need or just recite three different recipes for stew and then ask us to guess which one his grandmother gave him and which ones he found in cookbooks." The worst part was that he wouldn't even know whether doing this was a joke or if Hatter seriously wanted his opinion.

Cedric Johan Ives ~ Caterpillar, Absolem has the ability to appear at any age he wishes. has no control over his actual genes and so cannot shape-shift as such, just over how much he's aged. in addition to this, his skin is tinted blue. the darker the blue the more passionate his current emotions. ◦ systematic, methodical ◦ inventive ◦ perceptive ◦ patient ◦ intelligent ◦ aloof ◦ 'mechanical', robot-like ◦ 'the only answers worth having are those you find for yourself' ◦ fascinated by science and mathematics, especially physics. ◦ won't stop looking for answers until he's satisfied with the ones he gets, tends to fixate on a single question until he is done with it ◦ doesn't understand small-talk. has always had a hard time befriending people because of how distant he comes off and how difficult it is to hold a proper conversation with him ◦ most often appears as a young man, but every now and again - especially if he's working on solving another scientific mystery - prefers to appear as a child of around nine or ten. very rarely makes himself appear older than thirty, he doesn't like the feeling of his body slowing down. ◦ incredibly patient. can and will spend years waiting for the perfect opportunity to do something with absolutely no complaints. ◦ doesn't accept information relayed to him from others unless he has verified it to his own satisfaction first. ◦ won't express his emotions to you, and judging by his appearance it doesn't fluctuate much anyway. constantly in a state of 'meh'. --- alright, this one didn't take as half as long lmao (might have something to do with the fact that it's not ridiculously late, but whatever). anyway, let me know if either or their powers seem off to you.

( *is pat* thank you ^^ I'm glad! don't feel like you have to hurry to get him up, whenever you get there is just fine by me! for now, I think I'll add both Hatter and Caterpillar to the first post so it's easier to find them later. )
"More than me," Eamon said. "He probably knows more about what happened to the last one than most, other than the Queen, that is, and we avoid her. Starting anywhere else, especially when we're already so close, would be stupid." And Hatter wanted to help, he really did, he always seemed to brighten when he'd been useful. There was just the issue that he didn't really know how to actually help. "Look, as long as we're patient, we'll get something out of it. Just, try not to get too frustrated when it takes a while."

( a good idea, honestly. he's really interesting! )
Eamon turned, raising a pointed eyebrow. "Or, if you'd rather, you could live out eternity here. I can leave you with Hare, he's a hoot." There was a reason he hadn't let the other one stick with him for long - not even long enough to learn her name - and it was this. Humans didn't have the centuries of experience with other inhabitants of Wonderland and it was exhausting. He'd much rather let them run around on their own and watch the chaos from afar, but this time it was his fault, somehow. There were too many coincidences for that to not be the case. "Just let him drone on. And if it gets annoying, don't let him know or he'll do it for twice as long."

( I'm sure you will! there's really no wrong way to write him, he's been written so many ways already. I'm headed to bed, it's 1:30 so it's time. I'll see you! )
"I can't promise anything," Eamon warned. He was silent for a short while, then asked, "hey, do you really not remember how you got here? Or where you were before?" He needed a clue, something to go on. He had no idea how she'd gotten here, or how he'd managed to pull her with him. Because he was sure that was what had happened. What else could explain the two of them landing in virtually the same spot in a place as big as Wonderland?

(Good night!)
At his question, Phallon fell silent as she thought over the answer. She tried to reach back into her mind to try and find any memories of what she was doing before she woke up here. A few faces, places, snippets of conversation, and even sounds were brought to light, but nothing gave her any indication of what she had previously been up to. "No, I have no idea what happened," she admitted. "If I remember anything, you'll be the first to know."

Not for the first time, Eamon wished he'd taken the time to figure out how the first one had gotten here. That would have made it much easier. He sighed heavily and nodded. "Yeah," he said, mild frustration seeping into his tone again. This whole thing was just annoying. "Can you tell me what you did this morning and go from there? Pinpoint where you started to lose your memory, I mean."

Eamon sighed and nodded. That really didn't help much. He didn't even get any idea of when she lost her memory. Was it when she flipped or before? "Let me know if you remember anything else," he said, even though she'd already promised that she would. He needed to know for sure that he had all the information.

Eamon shrugged. "Do you know the exact number of people that live in your county? Even your town? I don't know. Most of the people you've seen in the stories are here, though they're usually very different. And then there are just the regular people, not all of us got the honour of being mentioned - not that anybody but me knows who is mentioned. In Wonderland, there are probably a few thousand. And outside our borders, I don't know."

Eamon laughed at that. It was all he could do. "I've lost count. Everyone here has. Time is different here. It doesn't work like it does on Earth. We're kind of suspended in it. It passes but it doesn't really affect anything other than what the hands on our clocks read. It could be fifty years it could be millennia." He shrugged. None of them really considered it. Only he and a select few others had ever seen time pass in any other way. "You should ask Hatter when we see him, he's more likely to know than most."

Eamon tilted his head but have a small hmph of agreement. "You're probably right about that," he said with a small smile. He turned and walked away from the forest and into a smaller path, one that would lead him to a small village where, hopefully, Hatter would be. If not, at least his neighbours would be and he'd have someone to ask for directions.

( cx alright, I'll get right on it. )
It wasn't long before the sounds of the village became audible. The hustle and bustle of people in the tiny square, moving between the total of three shops in the whole place. However, instead of continuing towards the sound, Eamon took another turn which landed them in front of a quaint little cottage, painted in a bright yellow and surrounded by flowers of every colour.
What identified the place wasn't the colours or the wild way the flowers grew, or even the table next to it, covered in buttons and threads and large plates of cookies. All that certainly helped, for someone who knew him at least, but it wasn't the giveaway. No, what made it stick out was the pile of nearly identical hats, save for the patterns, by the door. Said door was standing wide open and from it came an overwhelming scent of chocolate. If you listened carefully, you could hear humming and the odd, humoured laugh. Without even realising he was doing it, Eamon gave a small smile.
"Hatter!" he called, knocking on the door. The humming ceased and a moment later a young man appeared in the doorway. At the sight of them both, he brightened. His grin practically split his face in half, it was so wide, and he shone with joy.
"Rabbit!" he greeted, dusting his hands off on his previously surprisingly clean jeans. "It is so good to see you! It's been so long. When was last time? Oh, of course, it was that time you tried to cook and burned your entire kitchen down wasn't it?" He laughed, and it was a clear, unabashedly happy sound. "I'll never forget that, no matter how many millennia pass. Do you want some biscuits? Cookies? The townsfolk haven't picked them all up yet, it's not even dinnertime and they usually pop in after, so there're some on the table if you'd like them. Chocolate chip today." He glanced at the table and, seemingly for the first time, spotted Phallon. "And who is this guest you've brought? Is she from another land? I don't recognise her." Eamon turned to her instead of answering himself (Joachim wouldn't accept it from him anyway), raising an eyebrow as he waited for her to give her name.
