Hi there,
So, this is just a page for me and a few people to plan out an Avatar The Last Airbender based RP since the one we previously joined died out rather quickly.
If you want to help out with planning and page creating and all that goodness, just let me know and I'd happily let you on the crew! Otherwise if you just want to pop in and get in on the action when the RP gets rolling, put your name in and I'll come and find you when it's all ready and good to go!
Thanks,
Silv

BannersWelcome/Explanation/Quick History- Centuries before the time of Avatar Aang and even the airbender before him, Avatar Yangchen, a new Avatar was born into the Fire Nation at a time when the Fire Lord wanted to unite all nations under his tyrannical rule once more. The new Avatar must step from the shadows of their old life and assume their new responsibilities as the master of all four elements and peace-bringer for the world. Mastering first the element of Air, then Water, and lastly Earth, they must pursue their path before the Fire Lord rises to power incomprehensible. This will be much harder given an underground faction is pursuing revenge on the Avatar for actions they committed in their last life against the Earth Kingdom. Not only must they avoid this mysterious faction but also the eye of the Fire Lord, who searches constantly for the Avatar.
Will you accompany the Avatar on his journey and become part of a legend that will be told for centuries onward?
Will you fight to bring about the changes you believe in, whether it is alongside the Avatar or the Fire Lord?
Or are you simply seeking an adventure in the world of the Avatar?

Other: List of nations and notable cities- Earth Kingdom: Spanning an entire continent as well as several subsidiary islands, it is the largest and most populous of the four nations. It encompasses most of the eastern hemisphere and the kingdom is ruled in a monarchy fashion under a king or queen of the royal family.
-Ba Sing Se: The capital of the Earth Kingdom and the largest city in the world, almost the size of another small country. The name means "Impenetrable City" which is a testament to the great walls that surround the city. The gates are opened by the use of earthbending and have no other hinges or mechanics to open them.
Fire Nation: An absolute monarchy lead solely by the Fire Lord. The nation is geographically located on the equator and in the western capitol. The nation itself is composed solely of a large chain of several islands, with it's capital on the largest of the islands.
-Fire Nation Capital: Known by no other name, the capital is found upon the largest island. It is home to the Fire Lord, royal family, and Fire nobles as well.
-Ember Island: A popular place for relaxation and vacation in the Fire Nation. Home to mostly retired elders of the nation, it is also popular for the younger generation to come and party at during their schooling breaks.
Northern Water Tribe: Located at the northernmost point of the globe, sitting directly at the north pole. It is the oldest division of the water tribes and is ruled by a hereditary chiefdom. Unlike the Southern Water Tribe, it has yet to succumb to any great invasions.
-Spirit Oasis: A lush garden cove located deep within the Northern Water Tribe. A very warm location despite its surroundings, it is an inviting area of amazing spiritual strength.
Southern Water Tribe: A large collection of waterbenders divided from their northern counterpart. This small nation is ruled by a council of elders whom also select the tribe's chief. Having succumbed to many attacks of the years they are heavily protected and careful of visitors.
-Harbor City: The capital of the Southern Water Tribe. Located directly on the coast of the nation, a large harbor to welcome in boats of fishermen and navigators.
Air Temples: Airbenders have never established full nations and instead reside in a collected of air temples scattered about the world. These temples are places of sanctuary in difficult-to-reach environments like mountains or islands. There are four known air temples to date.
-Southern Air Temple: Located in the Patola Mountain Range, it is one of the two temples to house only male air nomads. Most notably will be the future birthplace of Avatar Aang.
-Northern Air Temple: Located in the mountains in the northern coast of the Earth Kingdom, it is one of the two temples to house only male air nomads. It also serves as the location air bison polo championship.
-Eastern Air Temple: Located in the mountain range in the southeastern portion of the Earth Kingdom it is one of the two temples to house only female air nomads.
-Western Air Temple: Located in the mountains to the north of the Fire Nation, this temple is one of two to house only female air nomads. Unlike other temples, it is situated beneath the mountains, in an upside down manner. Completely hidden from passersby. The Western Air Temple will most notably be the future birthplace of Avatar Yangchen. General rules- 1. No godmodding/powerplaying- I'm sure there's going to be some strong characters but no one can defeat a charter with one blow or strike.
2. No mary/Gary sues- Nobody's perfect, even the Avatar. Please have your character have some flaws in their personality. No one can be "so pretty everyone falls for them" or "so powerful no one can stand up to them". Please just keep it fairly realistic.
3. No one-liners- we aren't aren't asking for two paragraphs but 3-5 lines seems reasonable to give the other person something to go off of. A literate, well thought out response as well, not something comprised of five, three-word sentences.
4. Character limits- You can make as many characters as you want, but try not to have them all in one nation. And only make as many characters as you can handle. If you are able to juggle 4 or 5 characters, go for it but, make sure all of the characters are active and doing something.
5. Be active- please don't join and never come back. If you are not going to be on for awhile please let us know so you don't get deleted. After 2 weeks of inactivity, you will be deleted. You can join again but if we have to delete you a second time then you are not are allowed to join again.
6. Keep it PG 13- please try to limit the gore and romance. Use our little friend skip if needed and if it does get too far please end it or keep it to PM.
7. Include everyone- We ask that no one is left out or left behind. If you have read the rules put (Elements) in other. Please try get along and we ask there be no drama outside of the rp. If it's needed you can take that to PM also. List of bending abilities- Levels of Bending Ability:
4-Master
3-Intermediate
2-Average
1-Beginner
(Most benders reside in the Average level, the Intermediate skills are obtained when one has trained years and year upon their bending. A Master status is normally only held by the elders of a tribe, kingdom, dynasty, etc. These benders are feared and respected by those around them.)
Airbending: The aerokinetic ability to control and manipulate air. The peaceful Air Nomads utilize this type of bending in their daily lives.
-Spiritual Projection: A specialized airbending technique that consists of projecting one's spirit out of the body to travel to another location in a matter of seconds.
Firebending: The pyrokinetic ability to control, create, and manipulate fire. It is unique among the bending arts, as being the only one in which the performer can create their element.
-Lightning Generation: Also known as cold-blooded fire, a sub-skill of firebending that allows a firebender to produce lightning by separating the positive and negative energies internally, before redirecting it up through their arms and fingertips.
Waterbending: The hydrokinetic ability to control water in all of its various forms. Used by the people of the Northern and Southern Water Tribes, as well as the more secluded Froggy Swamp Tribe.
-Bloodbending: A sub-skill of waterbending which allows a waterbender to hydrokinetically take control of various fluids within the body, most notably blood. Known as the most dangerous bending technique and the only to endanger the user's mental state as well.
-Healing: A sub-skill of waterbending which involves healing wounds by redirecting energy paths, or chi, through the body, using water as a catalyst. It is very effective on external, physical wounds though finds its limits with sickness and internal illness.
Earthbending: The geokinetic ability to control earth and rock in all their various forms. Used mainly by those of the Earth Kingdom.
-Lavabending: A sub-skill of earthbending that allows the user to manipulate molten earth. A rare ability that allows the the bender to phase-change earth into lava and vice-versa, and to otherwise bend existing lava.
-Seismic Sense: A sub-skill of earthbending that constitutes for physical sense. The skill enables the earthbender to detect vibrations through the ground to perceive objects, people, and other aspects of their environment.
Energybending: The ability to bend another person's life energy. It predates the four main bending arts, the formation of the four nations, and the creation of that Avatar. Only ever utilized by the Avatar themselves, if they are capable of such a perilous art.
(All definitions taken from the avatar wikia) Bending rules/limitations- Fight fair- You don’t have to win every fight. Keeps things fun and fair, and don’t godmod the other person’s character while fighting.
- Not every waterbender will be able to heal, and not every earthbender will have seismic sense. Don't feel obligated to have a sub-skill for your character.
- If someone is going to die during the fight, then you must decide who will beforehand, and don’t kill the other person’s character without permission.
- Your character is not going to be perfect at everything- even master benders make mistakes sometimes.
- If your character is a newbie bender, then they need to act like it, because only avatars can perform miracles. That said, only expert benders can bend the special elements, (lightning, blood, metal, etc.) and only on occasion. You aren’t going to see a firebender throwing lightning around willy nilly (Unless it’s Ozai)
