Plumwillow had a deflated look on her face, her hopes to talk with Quickwing now crushed under the weight of what had just happened. She lifted her head as Warblerpaw approached, and she mewed sadly. “That shouldn’t have happened the way it did… are you alright?” She asked, hoping Warblerpaw wasn’t in any funk about all of this.

Cometblaze watched the scene unfold in dead silence. He looked towards Spiritstar, fear in his own eyes. She had banished Frostyfoot for taking a mate from another clan. It was a medicine cat but still.. would she cast him out too? Him and Spotteddawn for their code breaking?

Warblerpaw sighed, some of the tension in his posture easing as he met Plumwillow. "I could just claw her right now," he said, referring to Echowing. "She's embarrassed the whole Clan, and for what? And for Cedarstar and Diamondheart to talk to Spiritstar that way..."he trailed off in a growl, tail lashing. "As if she could have prevented this anymore than he could've! It was his medicine cat-!"
He shook his head, looking up at his mother where she remained on the Great Rock. "Sorry," he mumbled. "I just want to go home at this point. Are you all right?" he asked.

My wayward hope to enjoy the night hopefully with Quickwing is shot to Starclan, but I’m mostly worried now about what banishing Frostyfoot will mean…” She flicked her eyes over to Spotteddawn and Cometblaze, before she looked at Warblerpaw again. “Hopefully, this will blow over. Frostyfoot and Opalmist may be banished, but I have a feeling your mother did this as a kindness, not as a way to inflict pain… After all, now they can be together, just… not in the Clans.” Her ears fell. She would miss Frostyfoot and his kind, social nature. |

Skyclan: Cometblaze watched the scene unfold in dead silence. He looked towards Spiritstar, fear in his own eyes. She had banished Frostyfoot for taking a mate from another clan. Spotteddawn padded towards Cometblaze, shock and uncertainty clear in her eyes at the sudden turn of events. She didn’t think Spiritstar would banish Frostyfoot as well. Would that be her and Cometblaze’s fate as well then? “Are you alright?” She murmured to him quietly, her pelt brushing his lightly. Firepaw slunk over to the other SkyClan cats, his ears flat at the thought of his own parents possibly being banished for breaking the code as well. Sunpaw followed after her brother, the normally bubbly and happy apprentice looking rather dejected. RIVER- Arcticpaw flicked her ear as Diamondheart called for RiverClan to leave and looked over at Gustpaw, “I’ll see you later then.” She murmured quietly to him, giving him a wave of her tail. Shininglight looked at Redtooth, feeling a mixture of shock and grief. Would that happen to them if they were ever found out? She turned her head at Diamondheart’s call, wishing she still had a few more moments with Redtooth. “I… it was good seeing you again, Redtooth. Goodbye.” She whispered to him, following after her clan. |

Then he shook his head again; even he couldn't keep on a relaxed facade right now. "Spiritstar is merciful. I'd be willing to bet that if Echowing hadn't done this here in front of all of the Clans, she wouldn't have felt it necessary to banish him. As it stands, what's done is done," he said bitterly. I’m sure she won’t be very happy with how the clan will respond.” She shrugged, knowing she didn’t plan to interact much with Echowing after that mess. She gave a small grin. “Yeah. Quickwing’s been on my mind since that patrol, I always thought she was pretty but… yeah.” She brushed the fluster away before she mewed lightly. “We’ll get through this.” |

Whorlpaw flicked her tail in farewell to Warblerpaw before following her father out of the clearing. Palepaw ignored the SkyClan apprentice.
RiverClan
Frostlake got up to follow Diamondheart back to camp.
Eelshock glanced at Fluffcloud and regretfully nodded in agreement. "The current leaders are too set in their ways to see our vision of freedom and peace for the Clans."
WindClan
Beanpaw got up and stayed close to Palegaze. He watched the other apprentices leave, feeling no ill toward them. He did his best to smile at Duskpaw, Whorlpaw, and Warblerpaw.

Shadow:
Duskpaw gave a quick tail wave to Beanpaw, Stumppaw and Warblerpaw before hurrying after the Shadowclan patrol.
Spottedpaw walked alongside Fuzzypaw looking resigned.
Starrylight's tail lashed as she followed the patrol out of the clearing back toward camp. The pregnant she-cat was boiling with rage toward her usually gentle mate.
Wind:
Swiftstar watched Shadowclan gather and leave before giving a small sigh, "Windclan! Let's head out, the gathering is over." He announced before climbing down from the rock.
Sagefoot trailed behind Swiftstar silently, looking away from Shadowclan's rapidly disappearing figures.
Eclipsesky dipped his head to Snowdance, "May Starclan light your path, you've got a long trek ahead. I will not be joining the medicine cats next gathering."
Thunder:
Stumppaw awkwardly moved back toward the group of Thunderclan cats, now alone. She wished Brackenheart was here with her.
River:
Stormsplash looked back at Splashstone, his face full of sorrow. "I know you probably don't want to after what just happened, but think about what I said. I will see you next moon." he mewed quietly before slipping back into the crowd of Riverclan cats.

WINDCLAN
Juniperpaw gave a regretful good-bye to Rustlepaw, before she quickly moved to trail after her mother and the rest of Windclan. She felt a twinge of nervousness.
Weaselstride padded quietly at Palegaze’s side, her voice light as she mewed. “That… wasn’t expected. Do you think they did the right thing?”
Splashstone quickly shook his head. “No. N-no, I’ll take you up on it. I just… I think I need to lay low right now. I-… Travel safely, okay? I swear, I’ll see you again soon.” He promised, desperate and quiet.

Spiderbite stood still as he watched cats depart. Opalmist...and Frostyfoot...They both deserve banishment, he steeled himself. She broke the most sacred code a cat could bind themselves to and he didn't stop her. One of his own clanmates...Spiderbite hung his head in shame. When Eclispesky spoke to Snowdance, Spiderbite couldn't get himself to look at him. The tom stepped down. Lost his connection with StarClan. Perhaps he broke the code too? Perhaps Aspenfall or Snowdance could be next? I'll never betray my promise, he silently swore. I'll remain true to the end. StarClan warned him the trees would tremble afterall. He needed to be SkyClan's foundation of faith. He looked to the other medicine cats. I'll do better to help all of us keep the faith.

Eclipsesky looked at Spiderbite for a moment, "Do not be discouraged Spiderbite, your path can be that of a true medicine cat. Do not let our failures poison your light." He nodded one more time to the young medicine cat before following behind the Windclan patrol.

Snowdance turned to look at the other medicine cats, suddenly feeling even more exhausted than she had before, “Farewell, Eclipsesky. I hope the rest of your journey goes well.” She murmured quietly. She dipped her head to Dawnshadow and Spiderbite in farewell before following after the rest of her clan.

“Are you proud? Did you get what you wanted?” Jadefeather demanded from Echowing as the younger she-cat glared at the older one. She stood her ground, tail lashing.
“I did the right thing. I did it because nothing would be done if we kept hiding it! Every Clan has hidden it, and cats like me and other half-clan cats have to always pay the price for it! Now, they know what it feels like to be punished!” She growled, her voice wavering with anger and a hint of panic as she could now see all the glares of her Clanmates.
“You are aware that they’re able to do anything they please together, away from the Clans?” Cobrafang lifted a brow, the usually friendly tom now speaking with a tough sternness. “All you’ve done is make Skyclan look incompetent and stripped Shadowclan of one of their medicine cats when Cedarstar just said that a new threat was going around mauling prey and attacking cats? I’m not saying Frostyfoot shouldn’t have been punished, but it certainly seemed like you acted out of anger, not of care for us.”
“You wouldn’t understand!” Echowing snapped harshly, voice becoming shrill with her fury. “You’ll never have to live with this! Your life isn’t proof of betrayal!” She took a few breaths before she growled and lashed her tail. “I don’t regret it. I never will, even if you all can’t see why I had to!”

Lightningstar sighed as the gathering ended abruptly. At least it was a memorable one. “Time to go Thunderclan!” He called, jumping from the great rock. He winced as he landed, his joints aching. He moved to lead his clan out.
“Wait!” Redtooth whispered after Shininglight. “Tomorrow at Sunningrocks?” He asked with pleading eyes.
Cometblaze shook his head at his mate as he moved to follow his clan him. “I’m worried we are next.” He whispered. “That Echowing and others will call for us to be banished.”

Palegaze sighed, shaking his head before gazing at the stars wearily, then back to Weaselstride. "StarClan seems to think so," he said. "But I'm not sure."
The rest of my cats followed their respective leaders back to camp.

Shininglight looked back at Redtooth uncertainly, “I-I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.” She said, looking back at her retreating clan. She couldn’t deny the fact that she had missed her mate, but after what just happened, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to risk losing her clan and kits. “I… I’ll think about it. But we need to be careful from now on.”
SKY-
Spotteddawn walked alongside Cometblaze, giving a nod of agreement. “Do.. do you really think Spiritstar would? I mean, she took you in after…” she trailed off, eyes landing on Firepaw and Sunpaw. If they were banished as well, did that mean they would have to leave their kits behind as well? “There’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about, but we’ve been busy and I never found the right time… Can we talk when we get back to camp?”
Blackfire’s fur was still bristling as she searched the crowd for Quickwing and pointedly ignored Echowing and her yelling. She didn’t like the fact that Frostyfoot and Opalmist had broken the code in several ways, but she also didn’t agree with how Echowing had taken things in her own paws and just announced it in front of all the other clans.
THUNDER-
Ghostscreech said a quick goodbye to the other deputies as the gathering started to break apart and followed after Lightningstar as he led ThunderClan out of Fourtrees. Without thinking about it, his eyes started to search the patrol for the familiar white pelt of Frostmoon, wanting more than anything to walk beside her and discuss the events of the Gathering. Ghostscreech gave a sharp shake of his head once he realized what he was doing and snapped his eyes forward. He was going to have to get used to the idea that there was nothing between the two of them and move on.
Owlfrost glanced over at Mothsong, noticing her silence. He gave her a light nudge as they walked away from Fourtrees, “You alright? You’ve got a look on your face, one I haven’t seen you have before.” He said lightly.
Sootpaw rushed over to Magpiewing and looked up at his mentor, “That was crazy! Are all Gatherings like this?” He mewed, tilting his head and twitching his ear in curiosity.

You know, cats like you would deserve a spot in the Clans more than cats like her… or cats like me.” She shrugged lightly, looking away for a moment. “Frostyfoot and Opalmist broke the code, but only they deserve to own up to that. I now know that Lightningstar is a leader Thunderclan can depend on… but I just hope he doesn’t do what Cedarstar and Spiritstar did, at least not to cats like you… or even me, who’s parents did break the code.” |

Owlfrost looked back at Mothsong, his whiskers twitching lightly in amusement. "You aren't the cat you used to be, Mothsong. You had a different mindset back then, one I didn't quite agree with, but you've changed since then. That much I can tell. Why else would you be walking next to me now and sit by my side throughout an entire Gathering?" Owlfrost said, pausing for a moment to look back at her. "If Lightningstar had wanted to exile us just because of who our parents were, he would have done it ages ago. In fact, he could have just dropped my sister and I at the edge of the territory when we were kits after our mother died in kitbirth when we were old enough to fend for ourselves. But he didn't, he treated us like his clanmates, even when others didn't. He won't abandon us now just because of this incident."

No matter how much you think they won't, they can. They could." Mothsong rasped tightly, though her eyes watered at the realization that Owlfrost believed that she had changed. She knew she had, knew she still had issues to work on about herself, but the deep fears she hid behind her forceful dedication to the Code had begun to rise to the surface. She thought of her mother, how badly she just wanted to feel her warmth, to hear her praise and love, and yet waiting and waiting for nothing but remarks and laments about how kitting had only ruined her body, her beauty. Cherrycloud had as good as abandoned her since the day she was born. All she had cared about was herself. Independence had been the only choice Mothsong had ever had, and Sandstream's death under the claws of the rouges her own father led, it had broken much inside of her. She felt her ears fall as she sighed raggedly. "I'm so tired, of trying to pretend I've ever been the best I could be when I've only ever felt like the worst thing in the world. I guess... I thought that Lightningstar didn't care when Sandstream was killed. I was used to cats not caring, so I struck first." She shook her head. "My mother judged every cat around her... I guess I imitated her, even when she wanted nothing to do with me. How embarrassing" She scoffed tightly. |

"Hm. Well, it's in the past now. What's done is done, you can't change that." Owlfrost said, turning and picking up his pace to catch up with the rest of their clan. "The best we can do is move forward and keep the ones we've lost in our memories. The way you're mother treated you, you didn't deserve that. We don't need to keep living in the shadows of our parents mistakes, we can be better then them." (Wanna take them back to ThunderClan now? lol I love the fact that their slowly starting to get closer to each other now.)

Mothsong was quiet at Owlfrost's words. She wanted so badly to be able to leave it all in the past, though she knew it was not that easy. Either way, she supposed that it certainly felt better to hear those words from him, knowing that he could understand what she meant. She padded faster to keep up with him, hoping to get back to Camp.
