Russetshade and her patrol searched for the missing kits at Fourtrees. When they determined they weren't there, the patrol refreshed the scent markers and headed back to camp.

Honeycrest padded towards Fourtrees, feeling a sense of enjoyment in being able to mark borders and patrol as a full Warrior. He did ponder about his spat with Coalhaze during their assessment, and then at Whorlpaw quickly taking his nest in the apprentice's den. Something about that made his stomach flutter, and he had to quickly shake the feeling away. Accompanying him was Leaffrost and Lynxdapple, the small tom seeming to never run out of time to go on a patrol!

thistle) Weaselstride was careful to slip out of the tunnel on Windclan territory, before they got anywhere close to Fourtrees. After all, it was well known that keeping Tunneling as secret as possible from the other Clans was imperitive. She shook her fur, looking back at Palegaze as they approached the border to Fourtrees. "Seems calm enough so far. I can smell Shadowclan's markers. Hng. At least they're dedicated to their claim." She scoffed lightly.

Palegaze's nose wrinkled at the strong ShadowClan scent around the hollow. "Yeah, well, so are we," he said, moving to mark the WindClan side of the border. "Do you think they'll give it up at the next Gathering?"

"Do you think they'll give it up at the next Gathering?" “Surely they have to. They’ve only just managed to get every clan to allow them the few moons they claimed, there’s no way an extension is viable.” Weaselstride shook her head tightly, before she sighed. “This next Gathering, I’m hoping it’s just nice and smooth for once.”

Palegaze sighed as well. "We can only hope," he agreed. "Or at least hope the moon goes dark before we have to listen to Lightningstar go on and on again," he said with a roll of eyes.

Palegaze sighed as well. "We can only hope," he agreed. "Or at least hope the moon goes dark before we have to listen to Lightningstar go on and on again," he said with a roll of eyes. “Wouldn’t that be a drag. But I suppose it’s better than having to stomach just how much fat prey Riverclan gets to have in all those streams and rivers. Fish don’t really care much for what’s left of a big fire, huh?” Weaselstride scoffed.

"Fortunately for them, I'm sure the River stayed clean," he said. "Though maybe the streams got choked up with ash. Who knows?"
He marked another bush along the border. "Admittedly, I'm jealous. They don't go hungry as long as the other clans. Still," he made a face. "I don't know if I'd like to eat fish every meal."

Though, I agree.” Weaselstride wrinkled her nose. “The idea of eating a fish is not a pleasant one. I bet it’s slimy.” She shook her head sharply.

"And cold," Palegaze added with a sniff. He gazed down into the hollow, at how different it seemed in the light of the midday sun compared to when it was aglow with moonlight during Gatherings. "I wonder how the other Clans are doing after the fire?"
((Is the ShadowClan patrol still at FourTrees btw??))

"And cold," Palegaze added with a sniff. He gazed down into the hollow, at how different it seemed in the light of the midday sun compared to when it was aglow with moonlight during Gatherings. "I wonder how the other Clans are doing after the fire?" ((Is the ShadowClan patrol still at FourTrees btw??)) (Sure! They can be!) "Seeing that our moorlands are starting to at least grow back, then maybe there's hope for the marshes and forests of the other clans." Weaselstride offered, finding Palegaze's comfort to be more important than hers, and so she opted to try and sound optimistic for his sake, instead of her usual monotone bluntness. She marked along the border, only to pause and whip her head around sharply as she heard a few rustles and voices on the other side of Fourtrees. Surely enough, she could spot the unmistakable and remarkably small visage of Lynxdapple. Weaselstride knew better than to underestimate the tom though, with how many patrols he led for Shadowclan. His scent was always prominent along this border, but more than anything, she was interested to see Leaffrost out and about as well. Her kits must have been apprenticed then. She stopped and stiffened though when Honeycrest's piercing gaze trained on her, the young Warrior composed and achingly cold. She turned to stare right back at him, hoping she wouldn't be thrown off by his unwavering coolness. Honeycrest padded casually towards the section of Fourtrees near the border, drawing the attention of his uncle and Leaffrost. "Palegaze. Weaselpaw." "Weaselstride, Honeypaw." Weaselstride corrected, only to feel her muzzle twitch as Honeycrest scoffed with a smooth hum. "Honeycrest, Weaselstride. Looks like we've both got our names now, haven't we?"

Palegaze pricked his ears as the ShadowClan patrol approached. Sensing the tension in the air, he opted to take control of the situation again. He dipped his head in a respectful greeting for the patrol.
"Honeycrest! A good name, congratulations," the ghostly warrior said. "I'm sure ShadowClan is proud."
He turned to the two other warriors, recognizing them easily from past Gatherings and patrols. "Lynxdapple and Leaffrost! How good to see you again," he said. He wasn't an overly friendly tom, but Palegaze's unique (and slightly off-putting) appearance made him known among the Clans. "Has your litter been apprenticed, then?" he asked the queen.

“They are.” Honeycrest mewed with a blunt yet polite response, looking right at Palegaze now, sitting down and drawing a paw up to groom his curled ears. Luckily, Lynxdapple was quick to appeal to Palegaze’s nature with a friendly mew of his own.
“Fancy us running into eachother. For all of our sake’s, I hope prey is running well for you all.”
“They’re just perfect. They became apprentices only just yesterday!” Leaffrost giggled, icy blue eyes trained on the tom as her long fur swayed in the warm breeze. It was truly stark, just how much smaller Lynxdapple was compared to her tall and slender build. Even so, Leaffrost and Honeycrest didn’t move past the Senior Warrior. Lynxdapple’s relaxed expression relayed his preference to be civil.
Weaselstride held back a scoff as she looked sharply at Honeycrest, though she allowed Palegaze to do the talking. As small as he was, Weaselstride didn’t plan on underestimating what Lynxdapple could do, let alone one of Spiderfang’s kits at his side too. Even so, she refused to look or feel weak or intimidated at all.

Rabbits run quite fast, after all," Palegaze laughed at his own joke, taking a seat as well and wrapping his skinny around his paws. "And for you and your kin as well, I hope." "I'm certain they are," he meowed to Leaffrost. "They're sure to make formidable warriors. It must feel wonderful to be back to your duties, I'd imagine? Though you must miss them being tiny already!" he said, voice level and diplomatic. He angled one ear back towards Weaselstride before straightening it again. It could have been a simple twitch, but he was signaling the newer warrior. Relax, is what it said. We are not enemies right now.

It could have been a simple twitch, but he was signaling the newer warrior. Relax, is what it said. We are not enemies right now."They will always be tiny to me, no matter how big they grow." Leaffrost giggled, answering the tom's question with a simple yet effective response. She seemed quizically interested in Palegaze for a moment, before she turned a sweet and curling smile towards Weaselstride. She could tell the young Warrior was a bit wound up, quick to temper like Honeycrest could be. It would be funny, to mess with her, but Leaffrost was far too interested in Palegaze's politeness to try and ignite a quarrel. That, and she didn't want to get Lynxdapple's fur bristled. Weaselstride remained standing, but allowed her shoulder fur to lie flat as she boldly held Honeycrest's unwavering and observing eyes. She flicked an ear as Lynxdapple gave a small hum of humor, casual and relaxed. "We'll leave the rabbit hunting to Windclan, that's for sure. Especially because one might mistake me for a rabbit, yes?" He joked, referring to his small size, as well as his little tuft of a tail.

"Ah! Perhaps!" Palegaze chuckled. "Though I'd say we're lucky that our rabbits' claws aren't as sharp as a warrior's."
He squinted up through the great boughs of the four oaks, his pink eyes straining against the brightness. "The weather has certainly taken a turn for better, hm? Prey is returning and recovering as we are from that horrid fire," he said, a shadow of sadness flitting over his face. "How are the scars on your territory?"

"How are the scars on your territory?" “Healing.” Honeycrest answered tersely, but not unkindly. Rather, it was a carefully guarded answer, and he padded closer to his uncle’s side as he seemed to be searching for Palegaze’s angle. Lynxdapple was not deterred, glancing once at Honeycrest before he looked at Palegaze again. “Carrionplace recovered quickly, and we can thank the Twolegs for that, but any recovery is good recovery. And Windclan? Are your moorlands growing back well?”

Palegaze inclined his head towards the opposite patrol. "I am genuinely glad to hear that's the case," he said. Palegaze understood well enough after all his seasons that the Clans were rivals; but here, he also drew on his knowledge and experience that they're all of the same stars. "The moorlands are growing well, too. Nearest the river is best, some areas are still scorched, but the rabbits are bearing their litters and the air grows warm."
Sensing the conversation coming to a close, Palegaze respectfully dipped his head to Lynxdapple. "It was good to exchange news," he meowed, rising to his paws. "And equally good that it was hopeful. May StarClan light you and your Clan's paths."
He turned his red gaze to Weaselstride. "We'll be going now."

“The same to you, and Windclan, Palegaze.” Lynxdapple nodded his head at the polite words, grateful that they had run into a more agreeable patrol. Not that he would let Honeycrest turn anything sour under his watch, but he was relieved that his nephew seemed to be in a good mood, and not a sarcastic one.
“Bye bye!” Leaffrost giggled, waving her feathery tail as she watched the Windclan cats.
Weaselstride gave a silent grunt of acknowledgement, marking the border one last time for good measure, before she turned to follow closely after Palegaze.

Palegaze waved his tail as well, climbing the slope of the FourTrees hollow back out onto the moor. All the while they were talking, the sun had begun its descent toward the horizon. The dying beams of light stained the sky over the moor with vibrant oranges, pinks, and purples. A pleasant breeze raced across the hills as well, sending pretty clouds across the sun now and again.
"Shall we take the moorland way back to camp?" he asked Weaselstride.
((To WindClan!))

Swiftstar led the clan into fourtrees, his nose wrinkling at the strong Shadowclan scent. He hoped Cedarstar would finally be relenting control of the area. The leader smiled in satisfaction, realizing they were the first ones there. He hopped up on the leader's rock, settling down to wait for everyone else.
Sagefoot settled near the front of the crowd where the deputies sat, feeling awkward as the only one there.
Eclipsesky tried to hide within his clanmates, shame filling him as he could no longer meet the other medicine cats at their usual spot.

“Good to be the first ones here.” Furyflame smirked as she padded confidently into Fourtrees. Splashstone padded solemnly after his sister, silent and hopeful that he could see Stormsplash.
“Wow…” Juniperpaw breathed, looking at Larkpaw. “Look at how tall the Fourtrees are…”
