A scream split the silence and Batfrost looked around, panicked. He followed the other two cats to the sound. They entered a clearing and saw Russetheart, and a fox.

The fox, feeling outnumbered barked. It was short and commanding. As if on que a second, smaller fox jumped out of the bushes and tackled Batfrost who hadn't moved yet. Hissing, Batfrost batted the foxes muzzle.

Softsong stayed frozen. Her body shook with fear and she backed up slowly. Maybe... Go back for help? Oh Starclan... She looked at Batfrost, panic surginging through her.

The fox sunk it's teeth into his shoulder and Batfrost hissed in pain. Tearing away from it's jaws he rolled to the side, escaping imminent danger. Rolling to his feet his left shoulder almost crumbled under the pain. Looking to Softsong he hissed "Don't just stand there, you're going to get hurt." he didn't want the she-cat to simply stand there and be a target for the raging fox.
The fox jumped at him again. Batfrost jumped to the side, landing on his three uninjured limbs.

Badgerear lay nestled between the brush desperately pleading for his ears to pick up on the sound of prey scuttling in the undergrowth. His tail thudded until impatiently he realized it was hopeless. Tail drooping, he started his journey back to camp carrying a hare he had managed to snag earlier.

Cinderwing lay in the mouth of the Warriors' cave feeling quite relaxed and even paused to give her pelt a gentle stroke now and then. Her eyes lazily scanned the camp searching for another cat.

"Um. No. No no no," she breathed. She couldn't let her clanmate be hurt. She shook away her fear and launched herself into the quarrel, landing on the fox that had damaged Batfrost's shoulder. She dug her claws into its flesh as she tried desperately to bite into its neck.

The fox yipped, rolling over the cat that had jumped on it's back. Batfrost took this chance to claw at its side. He had to play it safe. With his speed gone he was a sitting duck. His smaller build made fighting large opponents difficult. He had manged up till now because of his agility.

Badgerear practically stumbled upon the fray without even realizing it due to his poor hearing. Suddenly shocked the large top puffed up his fur his eyes no longer droopy with disappointment but alert with excitement. The Fox had a particular aura about it that made Badgerear's coat stand especially on end, but he decided to ignore it launching himself at the attacker and slamming his mighty paws into its side.

Silverfang lunges forward and sinks his claws into the fox's side. "Get out of our territory!" He yowled digging his claws deeper into the other creature.

Softsong yowled, she hit a rock as she fell, her skin slicing open and dark red blood began to ooze out of the wound. She hissed, jumping away but springing back into the fight. She tackled the fox, biting into the soft flesh of his neck.

Seeing that it was now six against two the foxes didn't seem inclined to stay for much longer. But now that they were cornered they were also much more dangerous. Batfrost moved in to attack from behind and the fox kicked backwards, leaving the warrior only seconds to turn his muzzle to avoid a straight on collision. The other fox also charged wildly for Badgerear. They were beginning to panic.

Softsong growled, something she usually never did, and she took her pent up aggression and put it forth good use. She limped slightly, her usually white and grey fur looking a dark red on her shoulder. She felt weak from blood loss but the situation needed her awake and alert. She observed the area around her, her gaze shifting from cat to cat. She lept to Badgerear's defense, headbutting the fox down with all the force she could manage.

Duckstep paced around the camp. He felt unsettled, like something was wrong, something that he wanted to fix. But no one had even mentioned anything wrong, other then the drought and the impending doom that came along with it. Sighing, he sat down in a patch of shade and tried to keep himself busy.
Ebonypaw and Hollowpaw had been watching the warrior, he looked stressed. Neither apprentice realIzed there could have been something wrong. Instead, when he sat down the twins simply shrugged it off and went back to talking among themselves.

Cinderwing scampered through the camp entrance with a small shrew and a mouse positioned between her jowls. Setting down her catch, she noticed Duckstep's worried features. Padding over to him, she could see how worried his eyes were and began to feel a prick of anxiety. "Hi, Duckstep!" She called out in a friendly mew.
