"Well, yes and no. I'm helping your momma because it's the right thing to do. No cat in their right mind would leave a queen and her kits when they need help." Fang answered, considering her answer carefully but she seemed relieved that the trio of rogues were somewhat calming down. "And because I was taught by an old cat to help those in need when I was still only 5 moons old. An old rogue found my brother and I and took us in, taught us how to hunt." ((Nope, not waiting on any answers from the medicine cat, Silver. I just dug through the posts.))

Asher had recently realized he hated the cold. Back in his clan days, it hadn't been too bad - the forest was temperate, even in leafbare, and on the cold nights he could always curl up in the warriors' den, where he was protected from the sharp winds. But after traveling so far from where he'd started, and sleeping out in the elements most nights, he'd found he just didn't have the pelt for this cold weather.
He glanced over to where Willow walked beside him, a bounce in her step, not bothered by the cold at all. He eyed her bushy tail enviously. Despite the she-cat's smaller stature, it seemed more than enough to keep her in good spirits. As much as he felt annoyed at his own misfortune, he couldn't help but soften his gaze as he watched his once-apprentice bound ahead, looking over her shoulder when she'd gotten a few tail lengths ahead of him.
"Asher, come on," she whined, practically vibrating with energy.
He huffed, knowing he was playing right into her paws when he asked, "and why exactly would I do that? Moons of aimless travel, and suddenly I'm not going fast enough for you."
Willow grinned playfully. "I just thought you might like to find somewhere to hole up tonight. After all, I don't think your bones could handle another night out in the open, old timer."
"Why, you little-" he growled, mock-offended, as if he hadn't been putting up with similar treatment since he'd become her mentor. "I'll show you old bones!" He lunged, and she let out a startled yowl of laughter as she darted ahead, Asher hot on her heels. The two cats sprinted across the ground, unconcerned with where they were headed.

(Welcome Willow!)
Bush purred as she watched the kits ask all their questions with bright eyes from the kill pile.
"Aren't they precious?" She cooed, turning to Little, who had sat down next to Bush.
"Adorable. There's a lot of new cats here already," Little commented, looking around at all of the new faces, "we should introduce ourselves.
Bush nodded in agreement and began looking around to see if there were any who weren't already occupied with another conversation.

Upon hearing the greeting called out, Asher froze, seeing Willow do the same a few paces ahead of him. A clan, up here? he wondered, surprised and apprehensive at the same time. "Willow, stay close to me," he growled under his breath, and while she gave him an annoyed look, she seemed to obey. After all, they didn't know who they would find. The cat could be hostile, especially if they were trespassing on her territory. Now that he was paying attention, he could smell the scent markers they had unthinkingly crossed over.
Needing to see Frost, and curious if there were any other cats with her, he followed the sound of her voice, coming upon the striped she-cat. He situated himself in front of Willow, who annoyingly stepped halfway out from behind him anyway. He eyed Frost, trying to determine how much danger they might be in, but before he could say anything Willow started speaking.
"Hi!" Willow meowed, excited at the prospect of seeing another clan. "I'm Willow, and this is Asher. Is this your territory? We didn't know we were trespassing, we were just passing through..." she hoped she was reading the leader's body language right. She could feel Asher stiffen beside her, but she ignored it; he'd never attack a cat unprovoked, as much as his tense muscles might have seemed to say otherwise. And if she was being honest, it was comforting to know she had backup, in case she had read the situation wrong after all.

Frost smiled at the two cats. "This is my territory, but you don't have to be 'just passing through'." She meowed, sitting down and appearing less threatening. "I promise I won't hurt you. I just have an offer to make you, it's the same offer I make to every rogue I come across. "I would like for the two of you to join the clan, you would be welcome. All of the members of my clan are former rogues. My brother and I are just starting it. We got sick of having to always fight. Fight for food, fight for territory, fight just to live. We just want to give cats, kittypets, rogues, loners. Anyone who want's into the clan a safe place to be where they will be accepted and won't have to continue fighting each other."

Willow brightened instantly at Frost's suggestion. "Did you hear that Asher? We could be in a clan again! We'd have a place to stay, and, and clanmates!" She practically bounced with enthusiasm. Asher, on the other hand, was not nearly as excited.
Being sick of fighting all the time was something he could relate to all too well. And of course it would be nice to have somewhere safe to stay... that is, if this band of loners, rogues, and kittypets could be trusted. But his past experience with a clan... he found it hard to just ignore that. But... he wasn't oblivious to the effect moons of near-solitude had had on Willow, and the benefits having a shelter and a clan would provide her. "It's a kind offer Frost," he said at length. "If we agree to join you... will we be safe?" He tried to keep an even tone, but Willow saw right though him, flicking her concerned eyes up at him.
"Asher... I'm sure we can trust these cats. They're not so different from us after all. And we'd be with other cats again - it wouldn't just be the two of us anymore," she meowed, a little more subdued, but with just as much conviction. Privately, Asher thought, but I thought you hadn't minded it just being the two of us, but even before this he knew that was untrue - the she-cat craved company and familiarity.
"I'd like to meet this Rogueclan then," he agreed, dipping his head, trying to show deference to Frost's leadership. He found himself starting to hope this clan would be everything Frost promised, that they could be accepted here, and things wouldn't turn out like they had before. But it always does, a part of him thought, even as he tried to push that thought away.

Rp: Silver had wandered off to another part of the room, getting the herbs ready. She padded back over to the queen and her kits before setting down two leaf pouches. She unwrapped them and mewed to the she kit, "Hi my name is Silver, what's yours?" She mewed in a soft, friendly voice.

Asher nodded in understanding as he and Willow prepared to follow Frost back to the camp. He wasn't a stranger to defensive queens, though he tried not to think about how they had been defensive because of him, or at least the crime they thought he had committed. Truthfully, he wasn't sure he could blame them, and even less so if they saw him now. With his bedraggled fur and the scar that cut across his jaw, he imagined he would be an even more imposing sight than when he'd left his clan, and thought it might be best to stay away from the queen until she felt more comfortable.
Willow, on the other hand, knew nothing of cautious mothers, or apparently of sensitive subjects. "Her own mate? Why would he do that?!" she squeaked, to Asher's chagrin.
He flicked her with his tail. "Don't ask rude questions." Willow hmph'd, but let the question go. "You'll have to forgive her," he said to Frost, humor replacing the sternness in his tone, "she was raised in the woods."
"You were too, you old mousebrain," she grumbled. But she could see where he was coming from. A pair of strange, travel-weary cats might not make fast friends with an on-edge queen, and she'd probably do her no favors by asking her questions she wasn't ready to answer.

Willow's eyes were wide at the sight of the twoleg den. Twolegs lived all the way up here too? Well, used to live, she confirmed by scenting the air, unable to detect even old traces of their scent. She excitedly stepped into the Rogueclan camp, Asher close behind, and her eyes immediately settled on the pile of fresh kill. Her stomach gave a low rumble; they hadn't eaten anything yet today, and she was starving. "I know we just got here, but we've been travelling all day. Would you mind if we took some fresh kill?"
She glanced at Asher, who looked just as hungry as she was. Oops, she thought, wondering how they'd both managed to forget about eating. Though, maybe it worked out after all, since if they had hunted they would have been taking prey from Rogueclan territory. Maybe they could share a meal with some of their new clanmates and get to know them.

Rp: Silver smiled, "Do you mind if i look you over?" She paused, "just too see if you have an wounds that need to be treated." She explained to the she kit, smiling. Her polutince was already made which was a mixture of golden rod and marigold. Her had a few cobwebs out but ahe doubted that kits had any scratches on them but would still check, just to calm the now relax queen.

Both breathing a sigh of relief, Asher and Willow headed over to the fresh kill pile to pick something out. They settled down with their selections, Asher quickly tucking into his squirrel and Willow prodding curiously at her hare. "I've never seen a rabbit like this before," she commented, finally content enough with her choice to start eating. Asher shook his head, already halfway finished with his meal by the time she'd taken her first mouthful.
As he finished eating, Asher's eyes drifted to the other cats in the clan. He didn't exactly feel excited at the idea of meeting so many cats at once - no, that was more Willow's thing. Maybe he could get away with letting her do the introductions.

Bush peered over at the two new cats. Nudging Little, she walked over closer to the two.
"You two must be cold. How long have you been out in the snow, if you don't mind my asking." Bush asked as Little sat down next to her.

Willow perked right up. "We've been traveling for so long!" she complained, dramatically lifting a paw as if it ached with soreness. "We've probably been in the snow for about a half moon at least. It doesn't bother me as much as it does Asher though - he's a big grump when it gets cold."
Asher narrowed his eyes at Willow. So much for letting Willow do the talking, he thought, if I let her go on she'll make me out to be an old fool before I even get to meet half the clan. "Can't help it - my coat was made for forest weather. It's nice to meet you two. I'm Asher, and she's Willow."
