"Don't be alarmed-" he chuckles uneasily, "No harm done. I'm surprised you aren't with Softwing, is all." At her comment of watching the gulls, he laughs far more easily, "Oh? You two... Sounds a lot like your mentor then." The two would probably easily gaze at the birds for hours, he imagined. "O-oh. I don't really need...anything. I was heading back to camp with this fish is all..."
He fidgets, "..We could always go out afterwards, but I wouldn't want to keep you from Softwing- I mean, I'm not a mentor or anything, and I don't really have any outstanding....skills." he rambles, "Softwing probably would be a better teacher too-"

Chat: N/A RolePlay:
Vinekit grumbled in frustration, his tail drooping along the ground. The young kit ran odd, sadness filling his gaze. He couldn't help it, he'd never win any of the games. And I'll never be as good as Lionkit! He darted into the nursery, tears in his eyes. The brown kit laid in his nest in a ball, feeling ashamed of himself. He had been a bad sport. I can't go out there now! They'd make fun of me... Lionkit watched as the younger kit ran off. He felt bad now but he didn't want to stop the game. He glanced over at Copperfeather, hoping she'd go get him. The golden tom padded around the tom, smelling the air. He could smell her scent, if only he could find the trail. He trotted around, hoping to find her somewhere.

Cherrykit races after her brother. "VINEKIT! Are you okay?!" she mews, worry filling her gaze. "It's just a game! You don't need to be sad about it! Besides, Lionkit was cheating by using his sense of smell!"

Chat: N/A RolePlay: Vinekit looked up at his sister and shook his head. He knew he was overreacting but he couldn't help it. All he wanted to do was show Lionkit that he win the games but he has yet to win one on his own. The young kit turned around, curling in a ball again so that Cherrykit wasn't in his sight. He loved his sister but it wasn't the time. "He's suppose to use his scent, that's the whole point of the game!" he snapped but caught himself. Cherrykit didn't deserve to be hissed at, all she did was try to be nice. "I'm sorry, Cherrykit. I've just been trying to show Lionkit that I could be as good as him but all I've done so far is mess up," he mumbled.

Cherrykit internally cries, but pads over to her brother. "I know a game you may be good at! You can practice with me, and then we'll try to get Lionkit to help! I legit just made it up, but it'll work for now!" the she-kit mews, suddenly inspired.

Chat: It's a bit hard but you can either make the layout or ask someone else to do the format box for you. I had someone make me the box, I drew the signature and then pasted it in the top. It's a bit difficult but you can probably post it somewhere and someone a bit more experienced will probably help you! ) RolePlay: Vinekit glanced over his shoulder at Cherrykit, now intrigued. Maybe that would be good, maybe Lionkit was only winning so many games because he's played them so many times. All the games they've been playing, Vinekit barely knew about. This would be good! I can finally win at a game and it's all thanks to Cherrykit! He rose to his paws and touched noses with the she-cat gratefully. "Alright, let's do it!" he meowed, excitement filling his eyes as he trotted around.

Cherrykit purrs. "It's called, 'Mossball Tag'! The kit who's 'It' will be the one to run with the mossball, and must tag another kit with the ball! That kit then grabs the ball, and the other kit gets a ten second head start! The game goes on until there is one kit who wasn't tagged! That kit is the winner! Considering you're fast, I wouldn't put it past you to be able to be the last kit standing!" The red she-kit steadily gets more excited as she explains the game to her sibling.

Chat: N/A RolePlay: Vinekit mewed with excitement, what a fun sounding game! Plus, Cherrykit was right, he was pretty fast for his age and that would give him an advantage. But, they had to practice first. The young kit padded out of the den and beckoned for Cherrykit to follow. He slid behind the Nursery where no other cat was. This would be a good place to practice with no interruptions. Why would any cat go behind the Nursery? He purred at the thought and looked over at his sister. "I can't wait to play it! It sounds like an amazing game," he meowed, trotting around again as he waited for her to come over.

"I basically just took two of my favorite games and put them together. Let's get practicing!" she mews. She grabs a mossball. "Let me show you a trick to playing Mossball Tag!" The red she-kit scoops up the ball in her paw and throws it at Vinekit. "It's much more effective than the simple 'Carry it until you can catch someone' maneuver!"

Chat: N/A RolePlay: The ball hit the kit in the shoulder though it barely did any damage so he was fine. He scooped it up and attempted to throw it but it slipped out of his paw and flung the other way. He let out a frustrated grunt before going to retrieve it.

"Here, let me show you how to throwit without it slipping away." The she-kit didn't even purr at her brother's fail, but tried to help. "So, you hold it like this, and grip it with you claws, and as you throw, let go of the ball with your claws, and it'll fly smoothly." she explains.

"I guess you're right Softwing." Seeing as Quickflame was zeroing in on a fish, Shellpaw perks up and watches intently. She settles near Softwing and watches- she is eager to get closer, but doesn't want to let her shadow fall in the water and ruin the hunt for Quickflame.
~~~~
Sharkpaw scoops the stone up in his paw and once it isn't submerged he takes it into his mouth and ambles out of the cave. The stone was oval shaped, and as he couldn't help but press his tongue against it, surprisingly smooth, but most notably, as blue as the ocean that surrounded their home. Carrying it with him sent an odd sense of... well, something through him.
How would something like this even wind up in a cave like that? And as the ONLY stone.
What would Talongrasp think of it? Should he show her- he pauses at that. Should he show her? He had found it in such a mysterious way, would she think it was some sort of sign? Would she just say that his behavior was odd, that maybe he hadn't slept enough? His indecision was enough reason to doubt anything he chose- or maybe his indecision was the reason this shouldn't be ignored... because he had KNOWN he was supposed to go where his paws lead him. It always came down to choosing, didn't it. With a frustrated noise he squeezes back out of the cave and began to wade his way back towards Talongrasp and Raggedwolf. Curiously enough whatever frustration he had seemed to melt as he moved, and the mysterious whisper seemed to encourage him towards the Tui and the La.
Fine. I will. Is his stubborn decision. Slowly he spots the two and he bee-lines for them.
Quickflame glanced over at Shellpaw and tipped his head to the water in a signal to watch his demonstration. He made sure his shadow wasn't hovering over the water, and waited until the sleek fish was almost at the surface of the tidepool. The tom darted out his paw and scooped his claw's into the fish's neck, pulling it out of the water. The guard gave it a swift bite to the neck, killing the fish. He took a small breath of relief; not all demonstrations turned out successes, and he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of his own apprentice. "Now I want you to try", Quickflame told Shellpaw, flicking his tail in a spot beside him.
Shellpaw quickly pads over to Quickflame and inspects the fish. Hooked in the neck, bite to the neck, and there was a fish. If she could just hook the fish, then she'd be fine. "Okay." She crouches down in the spot next to him, peeking into the water with her ears pinned back. "...And you just wait for it to get closer.." she is mostly mumbling to herself, but any advice was always welcome.
Her arms certainly weren't as long as Quickflame's quite yet, but she bets she could still get one. She waits until one swims up towards the surface and lunges forward with a loud meow that startles herself. She doesn't quite land the neck like Quickflame, but catches it in it's gaping mouth and she works to tug it out and onto land. Thankfully the bite she delivers to the neck is quick and efficient, and hopefully makes up for the clumsy catch.
Talongrasp's eyes clouded "No.. I've heard no new word from the Ancestors. Every day I look for their signs, but they refuse to tell me more.." She rasped, her voice grave. She sat a moment, her gaze cast out towards the crawling sea. Then, a thought seemed to strike her. Her eyes lit up, and she turned to Raggedwolf "Perhaps that is a good thing, though! If this were the start of something terrible, surely the Ancestors would have said something more recently. In fact, that makes me almost sure that this is just some odd weather phenomenon" she meowed optimistically, her faith in the goodness of the ancestors never failing. "Sharkpaw is certainly trying" she meowed, humor in her voice once more "although I can tell he feels frustrated at times." ----- Sunpaw blinked at his mentor, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. A storm? But the weather seemed so fair to Sunpaw. Perhaps this was some sort of odd test...? He scented the air, tasting it for anything unusual. "Well.. there's definitely the stale scent of cats here, but there's also something stronger.." he began, his nose wrinkling up in disgust. "What is that? It smells... really oily and gross." That couldn't possibly be the smell of a storm, could it? Sharkpaw scoops the stone up in his paw and once it isn't submerged he takes it into his mouth and ambles out of the cave. The stone was oval shaped, and as he couldn't help but press his tongue against it, surprisingly smooth, but most notably, as blue as the ocean that surrounded their home. Carrying it with him sent an odd sense of... well, something through him. How would something like this even wind up in a cave like that? And as the ONLY stone. What would Talongrasp think of it? Curiously enough whatever frustration he had seemed to melt as he moved, and the mysterious whisper seemed to encourage him towards the Tui and the La. Fine. I will. Is his stubborn decision. Slowly he spots the two and he bee-lines for them. Raggedwolf frowned slightly. "Perhaps....but there is a possibility that they can't? With such low water, their connection could be weaker." Although he didn't want to sound so negative, possibilities had to be brought up. He didn't doubt their ancestors would help them where they could, but if they were in a position where they couldn't, well...the tribe would need to figure something out. But slowly he nodded. "It can be frustrating in the beginning, but I'm sure with you as his teacher he will turn out just fine." He purred. Speaking of the neo, Raggedwolf noticed Sharkpaw heading towards them. Something sparkled in his mouth and the La tilted his head to one side curiously. "Have you not encountered anything of the like before?" Sageheart inquired. It wasn't the storm, but it was still distinct. Maybe Sunpaw had been lucky enough to avoid a run-in with it. (Again, low muse >.< sorry)
(Oops, I forgot Copperfeather existed!)
Copperfeather pricked her ears as she heard rustling and excited mews behind the nursery. She could scent Cherrykit and Vinekit conspiring something, and wondered what they were up to. "Probably coming up with a new game!", the dame thought to herself, confident fhat's what they were doing. Copperfeather kept a close eye on the kits playing in the clearing as she began to groom her coppery russet red red fur. She took long strokes down the side of her shoulder, smoothing down her long fur to keep it sleek.
Quickflame watched Shellpaw make a catch, and nodded with approval. "A little bit sloppy; but I think your form will improve with age, and as your fore-paws get longer. Practice always makes perfect, too", the tom commented, his voice light with encouragement. He didn't want her to think she had done a bad job; prey is prey, and it feeds the clan no matter how clumsily you caught it. Most of the fish had swum to the depths of the tide-pool, since they we're scared away by thei cat's hunting. "We can watch for fish for a bit longer, but we might have to find another spot to hunt if none of the fish come back up", Quickflame explained to his apprentice.
"It's ok, I trust that you'd be a good teacher too!" Her face lit up at the thought. Tidepaw loved learning new things. She gave one last glance to the ocean and gulls passing overhead, then turned back to the other cat. "Let me just drop off the downy feathers I gathered to the nursery, and then if you want to go hunting or battle-practicing, we totally can!" She picked up the small fluffy feather bundle and turned towards the camp entrance.
Chat: N/A RolePlay: Vinekit grabbed the ball like his sister told him to. He did the steps before throwing it across the small clearing, hitting the back of the Nursery den. He jumped around with excitement, happy that he had done it. He trotted like he had seen Lionkit do and popped his chest out.
Dapplepelt padded over to Copperfeather and touched her nose to the Dame's shoulder in greeting. Dame's grow a strong bond as they are trapped in the Nursery together. She began to groom herself as well from being out of the camp and to the beach, sand was stuck in her pelt. "Hello, Copperfeather. Copperfeather's ears perked up as she heard her friend approach. "Greetings, Dapplepelt! Was it nice outside of camp? Lionkit has been excellent company", she replied, also grooming with her fellow dame. Her eyes flickered to the playing kits every once in a while, making sure they were okay. "I think that Vinekit and Cherrykit are playing with a moss ball, by the sound of it", Copperfeather added. The she-cat had noticed a small clump of moss missing from the pile they had made, and the occasional rustle of the ball hitting the side of the nursery.
Chat: N/A RolePlay: Dapplepelt purred, happy that her kit did well on his own. She knew he'd be alright, he wasn't one to get in trouble much. The young dame sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws and licking the sand off her shoulder. She forgot about the struggle of the dried sand that got stuck on her paws but she'd deal with that later. She was exhausted as she hadn't made a journey like that in a long while. "It was great, I've missed it so much," she purred, stretching her limbs. She looked up to see Lionkit pouncing around at every corner as if he were looking for something. But at the corner of her eye, she also saw Willowkit hidden near two dens. Hide and seek, I use to play that with Lionkit all the time.... She couldn't help but admit that she missed those times. Now that Lionkit had some new kit friends, he wouldn't need her to play with him any longer.
"After being stuck in the nursery for so long, it feels as if I've forgotten what being on a patrol is like!", Copperfeather commented, thinking back to dashing across the sand, or hunting fish by the tide-pools. "Lionkit doesn't have long until he's introduced to herbs", she added, watching the large kit play. Even though the dame was a guard, she remembered learning basic remedies and poultices when she was five moons old. Her kits were only a moon, and she knew that she would be in the nursery for quite a while until they were made neos. Copperfeather licked her russet colored paw and swiped it over her ear, grooming herself carefully.
Chat: N/A RolePlay: Dapplepelt nodded in agreement, remembering how much she hated being stuck in the Nursery. Luckily, Lionkit was indeed almost a Shaman Neo. She couldn't help but remember her mate, dread washing over her but she pushed it to the back of her mind. "Yes, I'm very proud of him. There are not very many Shaman Neo's that are as charismatic as he is. He'll make a great Shaman," she purred proudly. The dame finished grooming and stretched her limbs before sitting down once more. "What do your kits want to do? Or have they yet to decide?" she asked, tilting her head.
Vinekit pounced forward, grabbing the moss ball as Cherrykit had instructed him. He quickly flicked it over to her, missing her only by a tails length. The young kit grumbled in frustration but didn't let the loose yet to him. He'd have plenty of time to practice.
"alright.." Aspenfur mumbles. Did he even have anything to teach the apprentice? Would Softwing be upset? Would the other cats talk?
He picks up his fish and follows after Tidepaw. His mentor had always warned him against training an Neo, saying- none to kindly- his nerves would make him a poor teacher.
~~~
Sharkpaw stands in front of the two and gentle sets the stone down at his feet. He shuffles. Pass it off as a stone he wanted to put in his nest? Or try and push that there was a greater meaning to it- he truly felt there was.
"I found this." he blurts, and his expression immediately goes cross. That wasn't a way to make this seem important at all!
"I think it was the ancestors trying to tell me something," he continues, "I know you said they normally speak in whispers or hints- but this was like the ocean was roaring in my ears and I just... I couldn't help but follow?"
That was what it was supposed to feel like, right? An overwhelming understanding sometimes, and other times a soft push?

"Oh yes, I agree! Lionkit seems very eager to learn, which is a great quality for a shaman", Copperfeather meowed, nodding her head. She pondered thoughtfully for a few moments as Dapplepelt asked her what she thought her kits would grow up to be. "Well...Cherrykit has shown an interest herbs, so I could see her becoming a Shaman Neo as well. Vinekit is already sturdy and strong, so I could see him becoming a guard. For Willowkit and Gorsekit, it's a bit hard to tell. Willowkit is my little adventurous fighter, so maybe a guard could be a possibility", the dame said, thinking about all of her kit's personalities and strengths. "It really is up to them to decide though", Copperfeather added. The she-cat never wanted her kits to think that she would pressure them to serve a certain role in the clan; she would be proud of them no matter what they chose to pursue in their future.

Softwing gave an appreciative nod to Quickflame, praising him fro his good catch. Then, after observing Shellpaw, gave a bright smile "Wow, that was very good! I was really terrible at catching fish when I first started" she admitted, her ears forward in a friendly manner "I kinda got frustrated with it and stuck to birds" she meowed, laughing a bit at herself.
She took a couple steps back, looking around the skies. There were a lot of gulls overhead, but not along the beach... "Hey, do you mind if I show you something?" she asked Shellpaw, casting a quick glance at Quickflame to make sure she wasn't trodding on any toes.
------
Willowpaw wiggled in frustration. She had hidden too well.. Lionkit seemed to be getting bored of looking for her, and she could see Vinekit and Cherrykit playing some kind of game with a moss ball. Unable to hold in her impatience anymore, Willowkit burst out of the root structure she was hiding in and ran over to Lionkit, jumping on top of him. "I got you I got you!! You never found me so that means I win right?!" she yowled cheerfully.
-----
Talongrasp's eyes fixated on the stone, her paws shaking and collapsing under her as if an enormous wave had crashed over her frail old body. Roaring sounded in her ears and the shouts of many cats rang in her ears, fearful and confused. "The tides are changing, In more ways than one. The link will be lost, once all is done. Follow the moon, find the brethren of old." Talongrasp muttered, her eyes darting and staring at something in the distance. Her muscles twitched and she darted upwards, her feet shuffling through the sand, body unstable. "The tides are changing, the link will be lost" she repeated, her voice rasping in alarm. The ocean crashed and roared, loud as if she swam in the middle of it's destructive depths, from within the glittering stone. She turned and her paws thudded forward as she ran down the beach in the direction of the Lunar Spring, fear choking her with it's grip. Although she already knew what she would find there, she could not stop herself from going.
