Mooncatcher flew above the depths of the ocean, her turquoise-black scales shimmering as the sun glinted just above the horizon. It was about to become night; Mooncatcher's favourite time of day. She swooped down to an island, staring at the sun until it disappeared.
As the moon rose above the ocean, Mooncatcher thought about her silver scales by her eyes. I know I don't have mind reading powers.. She thought. So does that mean I have visions? I haven't had any in the past. Mooncatcher wondered this until sleep awaited her.
Yawning, the NightWing curled up with her tail tucked over her nose in a tight ball. As Mooncatcher fell asleep, her head hurt like a wave had just hit her, and she received a vision. A vision of dragons, pure white and almost see-through dragons. They appeared to have no pupils in their eyes, and they looked like ghosts. They seemed to be living in the clouds, but with no light covering their land. No light. They've never seen sunlight..

[CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE WHOLE SERIES]
The Ice Kingdom
The Ice Kingdom, the current home land to the IceWings, is currently ruled by one of Queen Glacier's heirs. It makes up the "head", or northern peninsula, of Pyrrhia, and somewhat resembles the state of Alaska. The kingdom is composed primarily of mountains and glaciers while the surrounding ocean is speckled with ice floes. It is characterized by extremely cold temperatures and freezing wind that often reach subzero. The weather is complementary to the IceWing tribe's abilities and traits, however, and so they thrive in its hostile conditions without trouble. It borders the ocean and the Kingdom of Sand.
The entirety of the Ice Kingdom is surrounded by the Great Ice Cliff, which is an animus touched barrier that skewers any invaders with icicle spears. The only way visitors may pass through is with one of three animus-touched bracelets that allow a member from another tribe to pass the wall as part of the Gift Of Diplomacy. Queen Glacier's palace is located in the far north, on the peninsula. It is said to be made entirely of enchanted ice. The palace is described to be consistent of such a low temperature that no dragon other than an IceWing would be able to survive. Inside the palace, there is a Moon Globe Tree created by Frostbite, which is the "Gift of Light".
Blaze's fortress was near the edge of the Ice Kingdom, for the reason that tribes other than IceWings cannot survive in climates with subzero temperatures.
If Princess Blaze had won the war, for the IceWings were allied with her, the Ice Kingdom would have been expanded to include the rocky land bordering the Kingdom of Sand. There is very little there, but Deathbringer pointed out that there may be valuable treasure buried beneath the rocks that Blaze might not know about.
Near the 'mouth' of Pyrrhia, the Diamond Caves are located. This is where the Diamond Trial takes place, when a first circle dragonet competes against the seventh circle dragonet.
It was mentioned in The Hidden Kingdom that IceWings had taverns, but no further evidence of this has been found.
The Kingdom of Sand
The Kingdom of Sand is the largest kingdom in Pyrrhia, and is home to the SandWings, a desert-dwelling dragon tribe. It occupies the southwestern portion of the continent, stretching from the Claws of the Clouds Mountains of the Sky Kingdom to the edge of the Ice Kingdom and the NightWing kingdom and the bordering parts of the ocean.
Glory found an animus-touched tunnel in the Rainforest Kingdom that leads to the Kingdom of Sand. She described the desert as "always hot and clear with no rainy days". The tunnel is hidden by sand right outside of Burn's Stronghold, and the wind blows sand to cover it up every day, which is why Burn had not discovered the tunnel entrance. The NightWings had wanted the tunnel there so that when Blister became queen, she could help them seize the Rainforest.
Queen Burn's Stronghold [It says Scorpion's Stronghold on the map]
Queen Burn's Stronghold, was originally the SandWing Palace, but Burn began to use it as her military base during the war. Before that, it was known as, ironically, the SandWing Palace. As the SandWing queen is now Thorn, the stronghold was renamed to Queen Thorn's Stronghold.
