Sparrowleap looked at Creamfur with a glint of amusement in her eyes. She saw Mallowbreeze in the corner of camp, probably keeping an eye out for cats who didn't seem to be occupied so she could ask them to accompany her. "Well, it would be nice if you helped Mallowbreeze out there.. But if you really want to you can go on the patrol. She seems to need some help though." Daffodilstar's heart seemed to stop for a moment. Disappointment edged her voice. "Oh, okay." She started to pad back over to the medicine cat. I wanted to go on a patrol!"Yes, yes.. You can all go on the patrol." Sparrowleap concluded, looking a bit weary from all the cats talking. "When shall we leave? Now?" She asked impatiently, slightly pacing around and looking at all the other cats with exasperation. Mallowbreeze looked over at Daffodilstar. "Good to see you." She mewed, dipping her head and sensing that the leader was approaching. "Let's not waste time and go collect herbs now." She announced coldly, turning around and flicking her tail for Daffodilstar to come as she left camp. |

He turned to answer Sparrowleap's question."Yes, now, but which is a hunting and which is a border?" Daffodilstar dipped her head respectfully. She followed the medicine cat out of camp silently, glancing over her shoulder once longingly at Sparrowleap and Creamfur. Opening her jaws, she addressed her medicine cat. "What herbs am I looking for? Could you give a thorough explanation? This includes how to pick the plant." |

"Ahh yes. We're looking for catmint and watermint, you'll find them easily by their wonderful smell. We need cobwebs and poppy seeds, the seeds can be found inside of a poppy and just swipe them out with your paw. Also we're lacking yellowmint, most noticible by its yellow flowers as you know." Mallowbreeze confirmed with narrowed, cloudy eyes as she turned back to Daffodilstar authoritatively.
Sparrowleap gave a little nod. "Ohhh, yes. That one can be a hunting patrol and the one that on will be a border patrol. Will that work with everyone?" She asked hopefully, looking at the group of cats around her with nervous eyes.

Creamfur shrugged at Sparrowleap. "Could you clarify which patrol is 'this' and which patrol is 'that'?" He said wryly, in a good-humored way.
Daffodilstar nodded to Mallowbreeze before casting her muzzle upward to scent the air. She eagerly scanned around her for yellow flowers and poppies. Suddenly her nose picked up a wonderful scent. Mint!

"Oh yes! I'm so bad at being a deputy.... Well, the double mentor and apprentice patrol should be the hunting one, and he one with me, Wolfsong and Swandust will be a border patrol. Does that make more sense?" Sparrowleap asked nervously with a little tilt of her head.
Mallowbreeze watched as Daffodilstar seemed to scent something. In the meantime while the leader was looking, she had cleared multiple fresh wads of cobwebs and a random clump of comfrey from an old tree triumphantly, wrapping up the comfrey leaves and setting them on the ground. "Do you smell something? It's watermint and is coming from over there." Even though she was blind, the advantage was that her other senses were surprisingly acute and sharp.

Creamfur smiled. "Of course! You're new to the duties, just don't worry about it so much."
Daffodilstar nodded in response to the cat's question. She put her nose to the ground and began to sniff. The scent led to the bottom of the tree. In a rush, she accidently dragged her injured paw over the rough bark. "Ow!" Agony coursed through her paw as she felt all blood rush to her leg.

Sparrowleap felt slightly reassured at these words. "Yeah. I guess I'm not used to all this...." She admitted with a little laugh.
"What have you gotten yourself into now?" Mallowbreeze asked with exasperation, taking some cobwebs and following the scent of blood to Daffodilstar. She pressed the clump on the leader's wound with exasperation, soon stopping the bleeding and lifting a paw to feel around the wound. "It's barely a graze.,." She muttered, chewing up some marigold she always carried on her herb gathering trips just in case along with the leaf wraps she fought to carry the herbs, and rubbed it on the wound.

Daffodilstar felt her cheeks heat. She muttered, ashamed. "I tripped over a root."
Creamfur laughed and ran his tail down Sparrowleap's flank. "Don't worry about it! You'll get thw hang of it soon!"

"I see that. Try not to get hurt any more, will you?" Mallowbreeze grumbled, picking up the remains of cobweb and nudging the leader to her feet.
Sparrowleap gave a sigh. "Maybe it would have been better if you were deputy..." She admitted.

"Thanks." Daffodilstar avoided Mallowbreeze's gaze. She turned her muzzle upward, trying to recapture the scent.
Creamfur wrinkled his brow. "No way! You'll be way better than me soon! I only have experience because my sister has made me do it a couple of times."

Brokenkit looked around one last time and fumbled over to a nest behind a bunch of herbs in a medication cat den watching Mallowbreeze and Daffodilstar. She placed her leg neatly under her and laid her head down, her ears flat on her head.

Mallowbreeze stifled laughter as she picked a clump of Yellowmint with ease and wrapped up the clump before continuing to search for more.

Brokenkit yawned and mewled determined not to sleep she sat up and her sleek fur ruffled and she mewled. Where was her mother?
her father? why was she here? she had so many questions she was dizzy.

Her head hurt from the questions swirling in her head as she watched Sparrowleap, Swandust and Wolfsong leaving. from being left in the medication den for so long it was getting boring, she kept her sat up position but took in her surroundings, small clumps of herbs scattered in the den and the floors littered in moss. she looked down at her leg and sighe her eyes sparkling in the light.

Eaglepaw treaded into camp holding marigold in his jaws. He may have been unsuccessful hunting, but he'd managed to find a clump of marigold while walking. He remembered what it looked like from when Mallowbreeze had pointed it out. She wasn't in the medicine den, so Eaglepaw left it neatly in a corner of the den. That's when he noticed a small figure in the den.
"Brokenkit?" he asked, looking at the small kit. "I didn't even see you there! How are you?"
