"Well I think we can bring this back to camp and then collect some moss for bedding. How does that sound?" Onyxwind said, oblivious to the fact that no apprentice liked doing this boring duty. His face was still bright and happy, eyes shining. "We can leave straight away." He purred excitedly. Tinypaw was such a wonderful apprentice!

` Okay! ` The apprentice didn't exactly like collecting moss. No apprentice did. But she was going to make Onyxwind proud, she remembered. Tinypaw picked up her catch and started to pad back to the camp, keeping close to her mentor.

Soon the pair reached the camp entrance, and Onyxwind padded into camp with his catch of a few mice. He waited for Tinypaw to catch up, and dropped the prey he had caught on the fresh-kill pile lightly. "I'm sure everyone will be proud." He assured Tinypaw. "I definitely am. Now, where would we like to go collecting moss afterwards?"

Tinypaw dropped her prey onto the fresh-kill pile, half of which was covered with small bodies. Then she turned around to see Onyxwind.
` Near the river, where it's wet. There's trees everywhere, so if we walk by the river to the border with RippleClan, we'll find a lot! ` Tinypaw answered.

"Correct." Ontxsind nodded, gesturing to the entrance of camp and padding out with a flick of his tail for Tinypaw to follow. "Then we're on our way!" He announced, scenting the air for any danger and then proceeding to the direction of the Rippleclan border.

The tabby followed Onyxwind, jaws open to scent any danager. She couldn't see any moss yet, but she knew there would be a lot. When they had walked a few tree-lengths, Tinypaw spotted some in a fallen tree.
` Here! ` She mewed, running over to the moss and falling over halfway there. She got up, and continued. When she reached, she licked her embarassed chest fur before getting the moss off with a claw.
` There's a lot. It could fill up the whole apprentice's den! ` She called over to her mentor.

Onyxwind gave a slight smile. "Let me help." He mewed, snagging a wad with his claws and deftly slicing it off. He put it on the pile of moss that Tinypaw had already started. "Don't take too much, or we won't be able to carry it all!!"

` That wasn't exactly the best idea. ` The tabby laughed, taking more moss off. The pile was quite large, and they probably wouldn't be able to carry anymore back.

Onyxwind said briskly, taking as much moss as he could carry and stuffing it into his open jaws. He almost gagged at the moss in his mouth, but tried not to and waited patiently for Tinypaw. A bit of water dropped down his chest from the moss and he jumped at the cold wetness. suddenly hitting him. |

` Okay, let's go back. ` Tinypaw replied, laughing as the water hit his chest. ` Stupid furball. You're meant to closeyour mouth, mouse-brain! Like this. ` The apprentice picked the moss up, making sure to close her mouth, even though water dripped down her throat. She tried to get a few words out, but couldn't open her mouth in case the moss fell out. She began padding back to camp.

Onyxwind rolled his eyes at being instructed by his own apprentice, and immediately copied her example. He was daydreaming.... Perhaps that's why he didn't pay attention. The warrior shook his head and looked back at Tinypaw. He then followed her back to camp but almost tripped over a log. His paw just skimmed the top of it instead.

` Mouse-brain. ` Tinypaw sighed, watching her mentor almost trip over a log. When the pair of them had reached camp, the apprentice dropped her wet moss from her wet mouth and took a moment to breath. ` Which den should I do? ` She asked.

"Let's see... The apprentice den and the warriors den needs some new bedding." Onyxwind said after dropping his wet moss. "I can cover one." He added, shaking out his slightly wet pelt and looked inside skme of the dens briefly.

"His paw is fine, but if you think he will start something, are you sure it'd be wise to let him come tonight?" Mintbreeze asked, turning to face Cinderstar. "As for the gathering, I won't deny they've been easier these past few moons. Without Ducksplash glaring at me, I was able to see my littermates normally. I don't think Owlstrike plans on treating me any nicer, but Lilymask has been friendly at the last two" Mintbreeze loved her home, and never regretted staying in the clan, but sometimes she did wonder what it would have been like growing up with her brother and sister.

"I appreciate it Cinderstar, I really do" In the past, she had Furzefeather to talk to, however with him gone, she did sometimes feel lonely. She imagined it must have been better for Owlstrike and Lilymask, being together. "Remember when Oakpelt was still a warrior? He was at the gathering after Nettlestep was killed, I was devastated too, but he just started yelling as soon as the gathering started..." While she got along okay with Snowleaf, neither medicine cat often brought up their clans to each other.

Cinderstar nodded in agreement. "We should probably head over to the gathering, it's about sundown," he meowed. He turned and padded out of the medicine den, thinking of which cats to take to the gathering, muttering partially to himself. "For sure Specklefoot... Quillmane will want to get out of the nursery, I think it's safe for her to go, she's halfway through her pregnancy... The apprentices will want to go, Spiderpaw and Batpaw will go to their first gathering, Acornpaw and Moleshade, Onyxwind and Tinypaw... Can you think of anyone else, Mintbreeze?"
