This is going to sound cliche at first, but what about secret agents or something? Either they're working together on some mission or... they work for different countries but they happen to have the same objective and then run into each other. Or maybe one of them isn't an agent at all but gets dragged into it with the other character.
I might poof btw. It's late here and I need to sleep at some point xD

Uhhhh yeah that's okay. Perhaps they're really experienced agents and they normally work alone but for this mission they have to work together and they both hate the idea of it but something happens and they end up being the oly survivors of their agency?

(Goodness I can't decide. I'm going to start out with one but I may end up switching characters a few posts in, we'll have to see. I'll try not to do that, but I just thought I'd warn you, haha)
Isabella strode through the halls of the agency headquarters on her way to the briefing for her next assignment. She'd been told little about it so far, so she was curious to see what they would be having her do next. There had also been mentions of the assignment being different than any of her previous ones, so that had made her wonder as well. Finally she reached the office and opened the door. The first thing that caught her attention was the fact that there were two chairs positioned in front of the desk...
