Alfonse thought back to the bustling cities and thousands of vehicles which lined the streets of the city every day. His own childhood home had been located on a large piece of property outside the city, and though Alfonse knew quite a bit, he never had quite discovered what it was like to struggle firsthand. He digested Peter's information with an expression of utmost interest plastered onto his face, the glasses he wore causing his eyes to seem even larger than they were. "That was quite a bit of time ago. If you don't mind me asking, why exactly did you come here, rather than stay on Earth? And why are there no records of you having existed on Earth? Surely other civilizations would have noted your accomplishments."

"The last time my people were on Earth, we kept mostly to ourselves. We tried intermingling with people a few times, but it always ended in disaster. We introduced advanced weapons, and the other humans used them to cause mass extinctions in the animal populations. At some point, we started playing host to humanity's first philosophers. They were amazed at our advancements, but we wouldn't let them stick around for too long. Other humans were entirely too primitive to be trusted to act responsibly, so we only shared our philosophies. One of the last humans to visit was a man named Plato, though I'm not sure anyone on Earth still remembers him. They weren't really into listening to old men ramble on about the meaning of life, and such." Peter paused, "Sorry, I got sidetracked. Anyway, some scientists were experimenting with some stuff they shouldn't, and it caused the ocean levels to start rising. They feared the civilization might have to go live with the rest of humanity, until a brilliant man accidentally discovered a portal to another world. They had only a few months to evacuate everyone and everything. By the time our land finally sank beneath the ocean, there was hardly any trace we were ever there." He frowned, "I wonder sometimes what happened to the portal they used, since nobody was able to stay behind and close it afterwards. It would be bad if it was still active and swallowed up boats and people." (*cough* Atlantis *cough* Bermuda Triangle *cough cough hack*)

Alfomse's eyes grew wider, and his breath hitched in his throat. "Do you mean to tell me that your civilization..." He ran a bony hand through his thin brown hair, a mixture of shock and amazement evident on his face. "This is... phenomenal." After a moment of thought, Alfonse began to smile. It was an intelligent smile, one which he had reserved for the excitement of discovering new things. His smile faltered after a short moment though only slightly. "Would you mind if I inquired what other significant discoveries your people have made?"

Aurora decided to risk going to the kitchen, as her hunger had eventually made itself known again. She sincerely hoped the creepy child was gone by now.

Our lifespan was extended to about 155 years, and best of all..." Peter grinned, "There's a virtual reality program that lets you see or have any experience you want, without ever having to go anywhere or take real risks. Some people use it for educational purposes - like school - but I like using it to invent and play games." For all of Peter's education, he was a slacker, and it showed.

"Any experience one desires..." Alfonse echoed under his breath. The scientist was absolutely fascinated with Peter's culture, and likely would have made an effort to visit them had Peter not already warned of the dangers of doing so. He stroked his nearly-hairless chin and wondered about the boy. "Remarkable. Absolutely astounding." He turned to the boy and in what was probably less than three seconds, his serious expression had returned. "I ask all of this because of the child who recently arrived. The girl claims that travelling between this world and Earth is a simple task, and I simply was wondering, how simple. Although humans inhabiting Earth are primitive creatures for the most part, I have devoted my life to more serious studies. Discovering this world is likely on my list of most exceptional discoveries, and for a child to claim such a thing..." Alfonse paused. "Well, it injured my pride." He muttered the last part of his confession under his breath, as if almost embarrassed by it. After having explained the matter to Peter, he stood to his feet, awkwardly. "You have my thanks for answering my questions."

"I most certainly will." Alfonse's eyes lit up once more, and he was somewhat curious to see the gadgets even then. However, his exhaustion was catching up to him, so he bade the boy farewell, and headed off to his room.

Peter leaned back onto the grass and stared up at the dark sky, which was now dotted with twinkling stars rather than wispy couds.
Upon realizing the creepy child was gone, Aurora fixed and ate the food she'd picked earlier in the day. She had since retired to her room and drifted off into a sound sleep.
Pandora remained in the woods, still sleeping off her meal.
Catori had long finished her own nap. The wolf now lurked in and around the castle, taking in all the new and unusual scents from strangers that she felt had invaded her home.

(Pretty sure the nymph is gonna take a while to deal with. He is very sweet but a bit childish to sasha. Its not easy to make a dragon annoyed. But when you do its not pretty
