He realized what such a mouse brain he was being and approached the spot that she had motioned to very cautiously. Sitting down, he made sure that the edge was well away from his paws and even took on a protective sense with his tail out in front of both of them. "Your not the only one." He chuckled nervously. "I always seem to end up on my back and in the worst possible positions." His pelt was bristled, making him look like a giant piece of red moss. Rainstar
Rising to her paws atop the high cliff, she straightened her posture with her tail rippling from side to side behind herself as her voice rank clearly across the clearing. "All cats gather beneath the high cliff." Knowing that the kits or if their were any, would need to hear sometime, so she had included them.
She waited for every cat to gather, and while she waited her gaze swept over the gathering cats. |

Lynxstep looked up at the high cliff upon hearing Rainstar call a Clan meeting. Standing up, he quickly trotted over to the gathering group of cats and sat down near the front.

Smokesong laughed when his fur bristled. "I've actually wanted to go down there so many times." She admitted, almost shyly. She looked at the fluffed up tom and mused mildly. "I land on my side most of the time. I don't know how the others can twist their backs like that? I feel like I'm missing out on something" she added humorously. She stood up and got closer to the cliff, looking downwards. "I wonder whats down there. One of these days I'm going to find a way down, and back up." She said half-jokingly and free spirited, her behavior probably matched that of an adventurous kit. The sun was pretty low. "We should start heading back if we don't want to get stuck in the dark." She said cautiously. She almost regretted saying it in case Redfur brings up her being scared of the dark.

[There isn't a designated spot for Stormfire but in past Shadeclan's on the old forums, the deputies would sit beside their leader.]

Noticing her curiosity, he shook his head. "I just imagine it's a river or something..." He flicked his tail. Chuckling softly at her remark, and quite amused at her sudden happiness to caution. He let his fur lie flat again, his tail rippling behind himself. "I think your right, we should head back." He smirked. "Or we could hang around here for a while...." Although hearing Rainstar's voice ring out to where they we're, he would rather miss it. "Some nighttime fun?" He circled her, his tail rippling still in amusement.
Rainstar
Growing irritable with the absence of Redfur and a few other cats, she began. "I've gathered you all here for important things I believe every cat has the right to know." She paused, gaze sweeping over the cats that did gather. "Prey is becoming scarce and harder to catch due to leaf bare coming early." Realizing her claws had unsheathed in the process, she sheathed them. "And Starclan has given us a threat. One that can only be stopped by the fittest warriors of our clan. Do not underestimate the threat which happens to be a fox, a cross breeded fox." She contemplated on whether to give them any more reason to be afraid this season. She turned her muzzle to Stormfire. "Stormfire." She motioned for him to continue, mostly about the tunnels and any other news that that clan needed to hear. |

Her expression remained thoughtful as he spoke. She tilted her head with a smirk, and she sat down, watching the tom. "Depends on what you had in mind?" She asked, twitching her whiskers. She hadn't known the clan was calling a meeting, so she had no idea to be expecting Rainstar's disapproval later that evening. She wrapped her tail around her paws, focused on Redfur. The birds songs began to quiet in the forest a couple of fox-lengths away and the small chirp of crickets were growing.

"Right" Stormfire dipped his head to Rainstar before continuing, "As me, Badgerstripe and Lynxstep went on a hunting patrol. We were unfortunately attacked by this cross-bred fox, Luckily no one was severely injured." he left out the part about badgerstripe's tail as the tom remember what he was told earlier. "Before that I came across a burrow that was reeking of fox scent. I warn all of you if any of you go near that burrow, stay on full alert." Carefully he flicked his tail towards Rainstar, "After, Rainstar showed me a tunnel that was most likely dug out by the fox, and it led straight to this camp." Stormfire closed his eyes, "I fear that the fox could attack at any moment through the tunnels, and if we are not prepared. We won't stand a chance with that fox's evil tactics." The deputy looked at Rainstar, hoping for the leader to say something.

The tom's whiskers twitched with ambition. "We can go explore the cliff or head back to the camp. Your choice." Knowing either way was fine with him, he left it up to Smokesong. The dusk wind ruffled his feathery red brown fur as he gazed intently at Smokesong with his vibrant Amber eyes. As much of a troublemaker he was, he had no intentions to tell Smokesong of Rainstar's call.
Rainstar
Noticing Stormfire's discomfort, she rose to her paws once again and lifted her tail, rippling it silently behind her as she spoke. "With that being said, all cats must pair up to leave camp and always be alert. Do not take this fox on alone, it will kill." She bolded the last word with her voice, emphasizing it. "Clan dismissed." She settled down on the high cliff, her gaze turning to Stormfire. "Stormfire." She motioned for the deputy to come talk to her up on the high cliff. |

Stormfire watched as the clan separated, then looked around silently. He could just hear Rainstar motion him over. Blinking, the tom jumped up on a rock then jumped up on the high cliff to meet Rainstar. He doesn't often go up on the high cliff but he has been on it. "Yes Rainstar?" Stormfire sat down and faced the leader, his eyes full with curiosity.

The tom was stunned for a moment, "Iceclan?" He tilted his head, "I'm sure I've heard of them before" Shaking his head, Stormfire focused on the more important things. "We have to be prepared, the apprentices have to be extra cautious and there must be warriors guarding the nursery at all times. The fox will most likely strike the kits first.

Rainstar met his gaze. "Iceclan was our ancestor clan, they lived in the mountains behind our lake." She flicked her tail to the distant mountains. She nodded in agreement. "I need a cat to keep a close eye on the burrow at all time." She turned her head to the bustling camp. "I'll leave that to you to decide." |

Lynxstep waited nearby for Stormfire to finish talking with Rainstar, when the blue tom left he walked up to where his distressed leader was. "Rainstar? May I speak with you for a moment?" he asked looking up at her, "I have an idea I'd like to share with you."

Contemplating to herself, the she-cat was shaken out of her thoughts when she noticed Lynxstep trying to get her attention. "I believe the clan is in need of an idea by now." She said with an exxasperated smile. "Go ahead, I'm listening." She jumped off of the high cliff in a few quick bounds, standing a few feet from the other tom.
Badgerstripe
After the meeting, Badgerstripe turned his head over to where Rainstar and Stormfire stood talking on the high cliff and simply waited till they were done to pad up to Stormfire. "Stormfire." He stood a few tail lengths in front of him. "I'll guard the nursery when the fox strikes if you'd like." The tom offered kindly. |

Stormfire bounded off the high cliff and padded away from it, the tom could sense the presence of Badgerstripe, as the cat came up to Stormfire. After Badgerstripes question, the tom smiled warmly. "That'll be great Badgerstripe, Thanks!" Pausing for a moment, Stormfire looked around, and his gaze fixed on the nursery. (Lol i just realized, there are no kits and queens XD) |

The tom nodded, heading over to sit underneath the willow tree once again dozing off into a light sleep. As he drifted off, he thought quietly to himself, I won't let this clan fall beneath my paws.... He told himself, although he wasn't a deputy or leader.

"Since that fox has been digging tunnels towards our camp, I was thinking 'what if there was a way we could stop his progress?'". The tom said sitting down and wrapping his fluffy tail around his paws, "And then it hit me, we could use rocks to block the tunnel or to collapse it in on it's self. It would ruin his chances of getting into camp and give us time to form a plan to rid ourselves of him for good." His eyes lit up as he explained more about his plan to Rainstar, "I'm not sure how deep down the tunnel goes so collapsing it may be an issue, but if we can get big enough rocks moved towards the burrow entrance, the momentum of pushing them down the slope should be enough so the rocks roll right down into the tunnel! If we get enough down there we can also block off the burrow entirely. He'd have to start over completely which would take a lot of time to redo." Lynxstep said hopefully, "I don't know how well this plan will work, but I'm hopeful it'll stop the fox if you decide to go through with it."

She forced a smile. "Thanks Lynxstep. I won't waste a life on that filthy animal." With that, she exited the clan, padding straight into the Autumn forest. Padding silently through the forest, she glanced around cautiously, already figuring that she was being watched. As she neared the cliff, she peered over the edge, bristling in surprise. A heap of prey lay at the bottom, "enough to feed the clan for a few moons." She stepped backwards. The fox was killing all the prey so we would potentially starve. Rainstar hissed in outrage, which she rarely hissed. She stepped backwards, hearing a twig snap but when she looked down, she wasn't standing on any twigs. She looked back, spotting a familiar figure and she let her fur lie flat. "Stormfire?" She must've not heard him when he had called her name. Did he follow me here? |

The grey tom shrugged, "maybe" he padded over to the leaders side, "I couldn't let you go and find the fox on your own" blinking, Stormfire stepped back and lifted his nose to the sky, he opened his jaw to breathe in the scents around the two. His fur ruffled up as he asked Rainstar, "why were you looking at the ground by the way?" Stormfire had a puzzled expression smeared across hsi face. |
