Personal matters come first ~ see you on friday!
so we're agreed then on the human traitor c: an opposite would be interesting Happy! Not many White Fang supporters would turn about face, so we'd need to think of good reasoning, but theta is a bridge we can decide how to cross if we come to it
does anyone want to actually rp? ^^' we could start off at the naming ceremony with other characters doing their Things about the school and Vale, for nonstudents)

Alrighty, sounds good. I'm always up for just about anything. ^_^
I'd love to! Two of my characters are still WIP, but I'm trying my best to hammer them out. I'm using all new charries for this so it's just taking a little longer, sorry. DX)

u can start even if ur characters aren't wholly finished, it's cool c: i still haven't finished cadell ;-; so long as the whole school doesn't burn down on day one, we should be fine on just names for now if anyone wants to jump on in, i'll post a few starters now :LLLL i'm making these long, but ur replies don't have to be super long if u don't want em to be, just type what you can. ohhh should we work out who's who's partner? we nearly have a few full teams already )
She'd seen big crowds of people before, obviously. The town near her old home filled up pretty decent when the markets opened, and in her old school, there'd been 180 people in total. That's a lot. Right now, however, she must've been looking at 180 pupils in a year. And that wasn't including the teachers. Kestrel didn't get nervous in crowds, so that wasn't why she was perched on top of a pillar rather then in among the crowds around her. The reason she had elected to remove herself was because she'd only been in this new school for a few hours. She was not getting in trouble so quickly. Let's not get over zealous and claim she wouldn't getting trouble at all, because that's rubbish, but her ma' didn't raise no animal, and she could make until the first actual day of class before she got her collar felt. It was the crowd that was the problem. It made her fingers itch, made her want to grab something and run, to start a fight. And she couldn't do that. Ma' would be so mad if she got expelled before she even got the uniform on. And so disappointed too. Nah, she wasn't doing that, not today. She'd just stay out of large crowds way, and listen to the headmistress. The woman didn't seem too bad. Nothing special, not from this distance, but at least she didn't look pretensions. Most of the kids here did.
Gosh, there sure were a lot of students! She didn't know why it should surprise her, well, surprise is the wrong word. What would be more appropriate to think was, why did Tein think it was worth noting at all? There were this meany every year. This was actually a small year. Why bother thinking about it? But she was thinking about it, and thinking about her own first day. She was in the upper viewing circle, leaning over the edge, chin resting on one palm, a small, pleasant smile on her face, those dimples making a reappearance. It'd been nerve wrecking, to say the least. During their initiation phase, her weapons hadn't worked properly, and she'd spent the whole time getting saved by one of her new teammates. It wasn't a great first impression. So embarrassing! At least she'd had her dust bombs, so she wasn't totally useless. But Tein had never felt so homesick, never wished she was back where she knew what to do more. That day had passed however, so had all the emotions, and all the uncertainty, and now she was glad she'd stayed, glad she hadn't rung home the first night and pleaded to be taken by to Mistral. She had a great team, and trusted any of them with her life.
even that guy who's going to betray them all later
Musidora hadn't cared about other first years when she was a first year, so why on earth should she care about them now? That was her mindset as she picked over the empty schools, enjoying the quiet that filled it one last time. She'd arrived earlier after the summer break, as she did every year. There was something spooky about any empty school, some places are just built to be loud. It was like looking at a skeleton, and listening to the wind whistling between the bones. Now, however, her peace was coming to an end. It was late afternoon, the sky was turning purple at it's belt, and the new first years would be at their naming ceremonies. She absentmindedly hopped up onto a low wall and delicately made her way across it, one light step at a time. This was her last year. She knew that. She made her way further along the wall, it twisted around a grassy flower bed, and when she made the turn, the low sun caught her eyes and she raised her arm to give herself some shade. After this year, she was on her own. Not literally, she still had her family, and her team, but she wouldn't belong at Beacon anymore. The next time new first years came in, she wouldn't be there to not care about them. She probably wouldn't even remember not to care herself. It was scary. But she wasn't about to admit that.
It had been a long trip, from Mantle, and Algy really just wanted was to take off his shoes and slide into his large bed. It was nice to be back, it really was, but it was stiflingly hot in this hall when it was so packed, and none of these new children had any manners. Not one, but two of them so far had stood on his foot. The first one disappeared into the crowd before he could see who it was, but the other got a full front death-stare that he normally only saved for the forth years. Thankfully he cut it off before the little one started crying. The Professor would probably have a word in his ear about causing tears less then 24 hours into the school year. At least this batch had some potential, he wouldn't admit it if he was being poked by scorching hot irons, but there had been some excellent work shown in the initiations today. Three teams in particular stood out, those just named EBNE, JCKL, and LIHT. Of course, he couldn't tell those kids that, because then they might get cocky, and he didn't want that. Not so earlier in the year. So Algy stood at the foot of the stage at the front of the crowd, an intimidating silhouette, watching the swirling crowd of battle ready toddlers.
He had no idea what day it was. For two very frightening seconds, he wasn't wholly convinced he even knew the year. Leuco rubbed a rough hand over a rough face and blinked his tired eyes against the weak light of the sun from his seat. This was a common White Fang rendezvous, a dirty bar called Rough Cut, with a smoky illustration of what he was guessing was a diamond hanging from the sign. This place stank (and coming from Mister Nicotine over here, that was saying a lot). The floor was sticky and the windows needed a good wash. So did the barkeep. But they couldn't hang out in nice places, because then everyone would go there. And really, Leuco didn't mind Rough Cut. It had character, and he preferred quiet places. Maybe this place was a little too quiet, because that five minute nap seemed to have turned into several hours, but that was always the way with him. He pushed his hat back off his face onto his head, but didn't take it off. Faunus weren't always so welcomed round down the rough part of Vale, and though he could handle a racist drunk or two, he was under strict orders not to make a scene. So he lit another cigarette to wake himself fully up, and ignored the very full ashtray on the little table beside him. There was a tumbler glass on his table (was that his? He couldn't remember) and he drained the last dregs of the golden liquid inside of it. The drink here was as nasty as the decor, but it was cheap. Not a bad place to wait for orders.

(I'd be fine with hammering out partners if you'd like Sappho! Also, I made Jason a total neat freak which should work so wonderfully with Kestrel. XD
The high-pitched jingling of a well-worn bell (not exactly appropriate for most bars but this was as cheap as cheap got) accompanied the ray of light that shone into Rough Cut, slicing through the bar's musty interior like a hot knife through butter. For but a brief moment, the bar's dingy interior was illuminated in all of its grimy, dirty, and disgusting glory. Such a look was thankfully short-lived, the very obvious shadow of one equally conspicuous White Fang rabbit obscuring it for the brief few seconds before it as entirely gone. The dull sounds of bass filled the bar, not really disturbing anyone thanks to patrons of the place being utterly non-existant, and it was obvious just who'd arrived from that alone. Kieran, the self-appointed demolitionist extraordinaire of the White Fang, strode to where Leuco was currently recovering from his nap. It was a wonder he'd arrived here in his full get-up, helmet and suit, without being accosted by those who didn't know better but in what was perhaps the greatest irony the White Fang knew he was remarkably talented at not being seen when he didn't want to be. A quick nod to the barkeep (who kept quiet through a perfect combination of threats and money) sent him scurrying to the backroom, leaving the two White Fang men alone as Kieran pulled up a chair next to Leuco. An envelope was quickly retrieved from the inside of his coat, placed onto the table in front of his ally.
(Gonna get those other ones rolling too, just wanna get this one out there. ^_^)

(And here is my particularly nasty girl. I'll hold off on the other two for now, see where things go.)
It was a strange thing in such a packed crowd to see any space at all, let alone one as wide as the gulf that currently separated Haze from her fellow students. Yet, there it was. She was her own little island, refusing to even be near her team unless they were brave or stupid enough to come to her. Perhaps it was the angry glower from her brilliant red eyes, or maybe the way her teeth were grinding that had kept people from coming near her. Perhaps it was the fact that she silently turned her head to stare with no small amount of anger that kept her by herself. Her fists were clenched white as she waited for the headmistress to hurry on up with this stupid ceremony, she had no time to waste being here with a bunch of weaklings. She'd only come to Beacon to refine her already formidable fighting skill, not make friends or sit around in this cramped hall for some utterly idiotic tradition that she didn't want to be a part of. Her gaze shifted around the room, focusing on the back of several Faunus she'd already seen. What awful creatures, she had no idea why somewhere that was supposedly so prestigious as Beacon let animals in. She'd had to work with one of them in the forest and it had been all she could do to not start fighting it instead of the Grimm, but that wouldn't quite be worth getting kicked out of the combat academy she'd trained her whole life to get into.

Kestrel and Jason are going to be '''interesting''' to mix with lol Jason: showers three time a day Kestrel: got caught in the rain last Tuesday, insists that it counts
also Kieran and Leuco because on is young, techno, bunny and the other is tired, smoky, dog uncle)
He should've heard Kieran coming down the street. Normally, he would've. It was hard not to hear that boy wherever he went, and when you had hearing like Leuco did, it was damn near impossible. If he wasn't still virtually asleep, he would've had time to sit up straight and maybe fix himself up a bit, but why bother? As it was, he didn't even hear him coming until he was right outside the door, which was a disgrace on his own part. He wasn't one for small talk, and he certainly didn't care for loud noises, so chatting with the demo guy didn't seem like a likely route for him to follow. Leuco eyed the envelope for a second before balancing his cigarette in one hand, ripping the top corner open with his jagged teeth, spitting out the scrap of paper, and replacing his smoke. If Kieran minded the smell or the smoke, he didn't seem to show it, but it was hard to get anything off a guy who pretty much wore a motorcycle helmet all day every day. He read it once, and then again, his tired eyes growing less blurry the longer he took, "There's no signature at the end." His voice was gruff as always, and it croaked when he used it for the first time in a few days. The instructions would've been vague to any civilian, but it made good enough sense to the faunus. He needed to know who it was from so he could know exactly how 'urgent' it was, and whether or not he could take his time, maybe bust up a shop or something on his way. "Which office is this from?"

Loki wasn't paying attention at all. He was leaning against a pillar that he swore one of his teammates was attached to. At the top of it of all places. He would never be able to understand it, as he hadn't exactly spoken to any of his new teammates. He liked their style so far though. At least the fighting one. None of them fought in a direct way, at least that he'd seen so far. He was sending a deck of cards between his hands in a bored fashion. He couldn't bring himself to pay attention to the headmistress. He was sure that her speech was inspiring, quite a thing to hear, but he just didn't want to listen. He sighed softly as he tipped his hat to the side to look straight up at the girl on the pillar, one on his team. Why was she up there? As cool as her semblance was, which he had to guess was the reason she was able to do such a thing, he didn't see the point in using it all the time. Seemed like a waste to show it off all the time. Wasn't exactly a surprise anymore, and he'd barely known her for a couple of hours. Maybe he was just quick to learn tricks.
Star was sitting next to Tein, arms crossed and eyes closed. It wasn't that she was asleep, or not paying attention to the headmistress, but she was quietly trying to feel the auras of those around her. She wanted to judge how strong the new students were. There was one aura so large that it was almost blocking out all the others, and it was making her falter just a little. She'd never seen one so large, not even among the teachers. She would never say anything about it though. Not unless she was asked. The rest of the first years showed promise. She finally opened her eyes, glancing at her team. Her team. She couldn't believe she'd been chosen as leader. She'd done her best so far, but she'd never had the courage to ask her teammates how she was doing. She just assumed that they would tell her if they didn't like what she was doing. So, she had to believe she was doing well.

Isis had her arms crossed and was not feeling great. She'd made it, she was on a team in Beacon, but for some reason she couldn't feel happy. What could possibly be the reason? Oh, well like that was hard to figure out. It was the red eyed girl, that happened to be on her team, looking like she was ready to tear someone's throat out if they even glanced at her. She huffed a bit, rolling her eyes. She couldn't let that girl sour her food. She put on her flirtatious smirk that she usually had on around other people. At least someone so full of hate was a change to her home in Vacuo. Being equals with her team here would make her feel much better. Her tail flicked behind her as she adjusted her wings. She stood out like a spotlight among the darkness. A tall girl, a Sphinx Faunus, tattoos all over, and not the most covered clothing situation. Plus she was barefoot. She liked to stand out now. Everyone looking at her. At least they wouldn't be looking at her like her family had back home. She could probably get used to not being worshipped. At least she hoped so.

(Oh yes, it's going to be quite a wonderful mix on the both of them. XD)
The ears on Kieran's helmet flash a vibrant orange, matched by the text appearing on his visor. "HEADQUARTERS" appeared on the opaque black glass, the color he'd chosen obviously meaning that it had come straight from the top. This was a mission that wasn't able to be put off by any stretch of the imagination, no, not if they didn't want to draw the ire of a particular snake Faunus who was not a man to be trifled with. The music, which seemed to never shut off, switched from one track to the next; electronic bass was replaced by the riffs of a guitar solo. What the change signified, if it did anything, was a complete and total mystery. The text on his visor flashed again, now reading "THREE HOURS LEFT" in the same pixelated letters. This was a rather time critical job; according to the subtext of the letter Kieran had delivered the son of a wealthy tech tycoon was due to be leaving from a private airfield today. Said tech tycoon contributed quite a lot of money to anti-Faunus movements, and their leader had decided that those funds would be far more useful in the coffers of the White Fang. Negotiating wouldn't be that difficult with a hostage, now would it? Security was supposed to be rather light, an easy job for the two of them. "READY?"

Ever so slowly, Haze's gaze shifted over the room until they settled onto Isis. That was the Faunus she'd been forced to work with out in the forest, the one who seemed like she was just dying for somebody to notice her. What a joke. Letting out a long breath through her nose she folded her arms, her gaze not leaving the animal that she was going to end up sharing a room with for her time at Beacon. Hopefully it knew how to bathe, though from the stories her father had told her since she was a child that seemed unlikely. Though Haze wanted to think otherwise, there were more parallels to the two of them than she realized. Both were standing out - if for different reasons - and both had lived strikingly similar lives prior to coming to Beacon. A fading ray of sunlight glinted off the brilliant red armor she'd refused to take off after coming back from the forest, when she'd been told she had to leave her weapons in a locker it'd seemed like she was just about ready to fight the teacher. As it was, she did look ready for a fight. Even in the middle of a room packed with students during the headmistress's speech.

As Isis looked around, putting her arms behind her head, she noticed the girl, Haze, was now glaring at her. She couldn't help it as her smirk grew more flirty. After being pampered for her whole life, she lived for danger. This? This was just about as dangerous as it could get. She threw a playful wink Haze's way. She was literally flirting with danger. She couldn't get any closer to the edge than this. The girl already looked like she wanted to punch everyone around her, no matter how much stronger they were than her. Isis pushing her like this would only make it worse. She knew that of course, but it was too much fun. They had to spend the next four years together as well. They wouldn't make it through the first semester, she knew that much. One of them was going to snap and a fight was going to happen. That was going to be one hell of a fight too. She couldn't wait.

Haze's eyes flashed, a fire burning in them now as her jaw jutted out ever so slightly. She shifted her weight to her left side, muscles tensing like she was ready to jump Isis in the middle of this crowd. That would be one hell of a story for everyone in attendance, but thankfully she just managed to resist the temptation. This animal was daring to wink at her? What, did the sub-human really think that she could just be toyed with and there would be no repercussions? Eventually she'd teach it its place, on her "team" or no. The glare was held for a few seconds longer, daring Isis to try something. It'd be the last thing she'd do if she was so stupid.

Isis couldn't have asked for a better reaction. The other girl looked like she'd almost jumped at her. She wouldn't mind a little tussle. The two of them would be severely punished for fighting in the middle of the headmistress's speech. It would be even worse since not only were they supposed to be a team, they were supposed to be partners. Yeah right. They would never be partners. This girl, Haze or whatever, was way to angry and aggressive. Sure she didn't mind a fight, but she still wanted to laugh at the end of it all. A fight with Haze would probably be to the death if they weren't stopped. She could definitely handle herself, but she doubted she would last long against this girl. Not in a fight with no weapons or anything. She was scrappy, sure, but she was hardly a trained fighter. Plus her wings and tail would end up being an easy weak spot to go after. Especially if this girl was out to kill her, like she clearly wanted to do now. She snickered softly and looked away from her, her tail flicking behind her nonchalantly. She began to wonder how far she could get before the other girl snapped. Probably take one little thing more and she would lose it. How fun.

Haze focused on the headmistress as she gave her speech, but wasn't hearing a word that the woman was saying. No, all she could hear was the ringing in her ears from just how furious she was at the animal who'd gotten such a rise out of her. She was getting angry, incredibly so, her vision starting to tint red as she felt her chest tighten. She just needed to hit something and hit something hard. It wasn't her fault that these pathetic excuses for students were riling her up so much, no, it was on them. They clearly didn't take their duties seriously. All of them here were supposed to be going on to be professional huntsmen and here they were, laughing and joking and acting like completely undisciplined slobs! How were they going to protect people from Grimm if they couldn't get their act together at a school? Her lips contorted into a bit of a snarl, getting more and more furious by the moment. That stupid Faunus would get what was coming its way soon enough, she just had to hold off for a little bit longer. As much as she wanted to pummel that sub-human she couldn't risk getting expelled.

Isis was actually surprised at how mad this girl was getting, it caused her to raise an eyebrow. She didn't think it would be that bad. Why was she taking all of this so seriously? Sure they were training to become huntsmen and huntresses, but that didn't mean they couldn't relax and have a little fun every once in a while. Surely they didn't have to be on the job 24/7? Everyone needed time to themselves. Besides. They weren't huntsmen and huntresses yet. They were still kids. There was no point in trying to be so dang serious already. That was a waste of time and energy. Could be sleeping, or eating. Reading, or watching a movie. Just relaxing with one's thoughts. Training all the time and always acting like Grimm were around every corner just sounded tiring and pointless.

If there was ever a candidate for blowing steam out of one's nose, it would have to be Haze. Her anger was nearly palpable, which gave her an even wider berth from her fellow students. (Not that she considered them her fellows in any way.) She closed her eyes, slowly letting out a breath in what was ultimately a futile effort to calm herself down. It was useless to get so angry here, there wasn't anything she could do to vent it. It'd probably be another hour or so before she could get to a training room at the least and that was assuming it would even be open. After a few moments of contemplation (something she rarely did, believing that it took way too much time away from training) she opened her red eyes only to see that Faunus with a stupid expression on its face. That was it, that was the final straw. "Move." She turned around, quite literally shoving anyone who got in her way out of it as she stomped to a door that would lead outside. The cool air was refreshing on her face, the chilly air and lack of people doing wonders for her temperament. She brushed a few locks of black hair out of her face, sighing a bit. "Four years of this Haze, then you can actually get to helping people... Come on now." Her temper was something she'd almost always struggled with, it was her biggest weakness. Getting emotional led to mistakes and you couldn't make mistakes when fighting Grimm. She wished she could just shut off her emotions, but seeing people not taking the life of a huntsmen seriously sent her over the edge. Sub-humans entertaining the notion they could actually become huntsmen wasn't helping either.

He physically bristled when he pieced together the colour of the text to the message, and now that his brain had woken up, he knew what it meant, "Ok then, so no slacking." He heaved himself out of his chair and arched his back, speaking through a yawn, "Yeah, yeah, I'm ready. Let's go bunny boy." Leuco grabbed his jacket off the chair and shrugged it over his old shirt. It used to be white, but now it was more of an off cream, grey around the cuffs and collar. It was pretty gross, but at least it only smelt of smoke, and not body order or anything. That would be purely unforgivable. Even this guy had standards. Leaving the bar allowed for more of that natural light to pour onto Leuco's face, and he grimaced against the dying flares of the sun, and the cold bite of the wind. Autumn was here, for sure. "Which way?" He asked, still a little too groggy to think that far ahead. In about a minute however, he'd be fully functional. That kid wasn't even going to know what hit him. He had Wanda strapped ot his hip at the side, folded up into travelling mode. It was still very clearly a weapon, but in this part of town and at this time of day, getting stopped and searched was unlikely. And if it did happen, between the two of them, he was confident they could handle it. All the hunters would be at the school today anyway, the first day back and all.
Kestrel chewed one of her finger nails as the speech continued. Some girl stormed out of the hall and honestly, that didn't seem like such a bad idea. The lanky girl's short attention span was really being tested already, and she found her eyes as well as her mind wandering. She could see two of the guys from her new team beneath her, Luke and John or something. She'd forgotten. Oh well, plenty of time to remember them later. That weird guy with the cards seemed a little shifty, and frankly, card games kind of unnerved her. The slight of hand and that intellectual thing you needed to have to be any good at it put her off. Her leader seemed like a decent guy, she supposed. A bit cocky, but that wasn't anything she couldn't deal with herself. So long as neither of them got too annoyed about a bit of a mess, she was sure they'd get on grand. Letting her mind wander had been a bad idea, because to stay where she was, up at the top, she'd needed to focus. And she'd stopped. You can't have one without the other. All of a sudden, she simply fell from the top. Quickly, Kestrel let out a hushed, but colourful swear and tried to re-fix herself to the pillar, mainly succeeding in that she got her hands against it, but couldn't reattach herself completely. She settled for letting her body slam against the pillar and then slide slowly and none too gracefully to the floor. If she'd had any dignity to start off with, it would've all been lost, but she didn't, so there was no need to worry.

Isis watched Haze storm out of the hall, shaking her head a bit. What was her problem? She bit her bottom lip slightly, still smirking. Well, she might as well go ask where they had some privacy. This was such a bad idea. She started to move out of the hall, slipping passed people unlike the shoving her 'partner' had done. Kind of a surprise with how big the girl was. She glanced back to check if anyone was following them, and so far they looked alright. She got out of the hall and looked around for Haze. There she was. She moved towards her, still smirking. "So," she said aloud to get her attention. "Mind telling me what the big deal is?"
It was probably a good thing that Loki had decided to look up when he did, otherwise he might have had his teammate on top of him. He stepped away from the pillar and rubbed the back of his head as she finally hit the ground. "Hey, you alright?" They were stuck together, whether they liked it or not. They might as well start acting like a team now. He didn't seem to care about what she looked like, and he probably wouldn't care what she acted like as long as it didn't become a disadvantage to the team. He slipped his cards into his jacket and held out his hand to her to help her up.

From what she'd seen of this guy fight, he seemed to rely on people confusing themselves, so Kestrel was happy that she wouldn't be squaring up against him any time soon. She liked her fights simple and brutal, up close and personal. He didn't seem to mind that she'd nearly squashed him too, which was nice. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine." She has going to have a pillar shaped bruise the length of her back tomorrow, but right now, the sting was dying away. Maybe she should invest in a good back brace to go along with the knee and elbow pads, "I stopped paying attention, so, y'know, I just kinda..." She made some vague gestures with her hands, "Fell. It happens. Coulda been worse though, coulda landed on you." She gave his arm a playful yet forceful punch (the force wasn't intended, it was just her nature), "That woulda been messy." She was whispering now, not wanting to disturb the headmistress from her speech, or more likely, not wanting to get caught talking during it.

Loki managed to not flinch when she punched him. He knew she meant well, so he didn't say anything about it. He only smiled at her. "Well if you hadn't been so interesting, sitting on a pillar sideways, I might not have felt the need to look up." He slipped his hands into his pockets. "Messy? Doubtful. Painful? Absolutely." He chuckled softly. "The worst part would be all the eyes on us. Hate to interrupt the headmistress during her speech." He looked back towards the stage. "I think she's almost done though. So we should be fine." He hoped she was almost done. The sooner he could move into his new room, the better.

Jason had been day-dreaming during the speech, standing unattached from the pillar as he thought about home and how far away it seemed even if he lived here in Vale. It was hard not to be roused by Kestrel's crash though, not with ears as large as his. He started a bit, before looking up with a mixture of confusion and worry in his eyes. He wanted to reach out a hand to help her up, but... she was just so dirty. He brushed that thought off, internally scolding himself for thinking that way. Filthy or not this girl was on his team. The team that he'd been picked to lead, the team that had been named after him. Besides, Kestrel seemed nice enough. He was sure they'd get along just fine. These thoughts finished he realized he should probably, y'know, actually interact with his team, speech or no. "Seriously, let's not draw attention to ourselves when we're surrounded by literally every teacher in the school, yeah?" He whispered, the playful tone to his voice making it clear he was just joking with them all in good fun.
Kieran betrayed no emotion whatsoever as his partner for this mission stood up, not that he ever did. Though the music and antics could certainly be tiresome to deal with, especially if you didn't like loud noises and bright lights, the lack of conversation and judgement did mean he was easier to work with than a lot of the more... unsavory White Fang elements. Never had to look over your shoulder for a knife in your back when he was your teammate, the same couldn't be said of quite a few of the bloodthirsty types their organization attracted. An arrow pointing west flashed on his visor in response to Leuco's question, the color shifting from orange to a neon purple. "MINIMAL CASUALTIES" As always, whenever the message shifted a small little tone indicated it so that whomever he was "talking" to would know to look. The sound was almost lost in the autumn wind that was sending his open suit coat and narrow tie blowing slightly behind him, but it would come through loud and clear to Leuco's ears. "POLICE RESPONSE TO BE AVOIDED IF POSSIBLE" The letters would scroll across the visor if the message was too big to fit normally, as they just had. The "bunny boy" as Leuco called him would stick out anywhere, the rough part of town like this especially so. Though few were out thanks to the frosty temperature, those who were were giving both Faunus quite the leer. It was possible that at any moment there'd be a fight.
Haze had just been managing to overcome her fit of rage when she heard the door open behind her. She recognized the voice, which caused her anger to be relit with a fresh source of fuel. Ever so slowly she turned her head to look over her shoulder at her "partner." As if an animal could be her partner. There was wrath in her eyes, this wasn't just playing with fire - this was flirting with an inferno. "You." Her voice was harsh, positively brimming with unrestrained spite. Even to the most egotistical of people it would be a little bit of a confidence shaker. "And everything here like you."

"The top o' the pillar's not a bad place to be." She admitted, pushing a hand through her hair, "Ya get to see the top of everybody's head." Admittedly, the team was easier to get on with than she first suspected, there was always some vague fear at the back of her mind that she'd be surrounded by cold, disjointed people. But when her new leader joined in the talk too, she could feel that nervousness relax a bit. The mental image of the speech speaking stopped mid-word due to a student-on-student crash when they shouldn't even have been moving was embarrassing, to say the least, but it didn't stop a sharp grin from popping up on her face, "Drawing some attention to ourselves might add a little bit o' 'pizzazz' though." She roughly dragged the heel of her palm along her cheek and nose (she didn't have a tissue) leaving a big red mark across her face, but the grin stayed in tact, "It'd definitely make it more memorable."
He let the bitter wind wake him up a bit, if Leuco mucked this up because he was 'sleepy' Aurelion would have his head on a spike before the sun went down. And though he was a man of few ambitions, not getting decapitated was on his to-do list, always. "Yeah, yeah, I got it." He pulled his jacket close to him, "Not like I was gonna go in there and just murder everyone." That wasn't strictly true, as that was why he was normally sent on jobs like these, but he wasn't going to let this rabbit have the satisfaction of being right. If this guy even felt satisfaction. Leuco himself was a quiet man, sure, but he'd never heard this guy speak, not once. That was just a little creepy. "I'll handle whatever sort of security they got, you grab the kid. Get back to me as quick as you can and I'll bring us to the base." His semblance was handy, and probably the main reason he'd been recruited, they would be able to get out of there with the kid in three seconds, if they had to.

This chick had some serious issues. Isis crossed her arms and tiled her head, that smirk not leaving her face just yet. "Everything like me? Well you're going to have to be more specific. Last time I checked I was one of a kind." She had a feeling she knew exactly what the problem was. She grew up in a nomadic tribe where humans and Faunus had been truly equal. As long as you pulled your own weight, took care of those around you, you had a place there. Didn't mean she was clueless on how racist a lot of humans were against Faunus. Even after supposedly getting their rights. She sympathized with the White Fang, even if they were a bit...murder happy. At least people were paying attention to them, though it wasn't the best way.
Loki shook his head, still smiling. "Memorable is right. Not the best moment now, but I'm sure in a year or two we would think it was hilarious." He pulled out a playing card from the pocket his right hand had been in, and started to mess with it. He kept twirling it between his fingers without pause or looking at it. He was definitely practiced with these cards of his. "I'm sure I could think of something to keep us from getting in too much trouble though." He didn't think any of them had explained their semblances, weapons, or fighting styles yet. They'd basically come straight here after the forest. Not much time for talking.

Jason's left eye actually twitched when she drug her hand across her face, finding himself utterly repulsed. He was self-aware enough to know he was a total neat freak, way more so than he needed to be, but this was beyond his normal level of discomfort. "I... Uh... Yeah." He was still trying to be friendly, a weakening smile on his face, but his eyes quickly found somewhere else to be. He tugged a bit on one of the ends of his scarf, a habit he picked up whenever he found himself wanting to fidget a bit. "Let's not be the ones who make things memorable though. Better to laugh at the example than be the example." His multicolored tail swished idly behind him, the incredibly voluminous fur sleek and shining in the dim lights of the hall. "As fun as it would be getting so close to our teachers this early." He whispered, sarcastic this time around.
Kieran cocked his head to the side at Leuco's comment about not murdering them. As detached as he seemed, what with never speaking and encased in a futuristic helmet 24/7, he wasn't stupid."?" They both knew better than that, that's why Aurelion had specified in the letter that murder was to be strictly avoided on this job if at all possible. He wanted to go into this negotiation with an aura of benevolence, hard to go about that with a swathe of destruction and death left in his solders' wake. "UNDERSTOOD" flashed up a few seconds later. He was perfectly fine following Leuco's lead, he trusted the man well enough. Despite the complete and utter lack of personality he seemed to have with his getup, he really was pretty respectful to the dog. Suddenly the bunny stopped in his tracks, looking to his right. The wind was still blowing his tie over his shoulder, though it wasn't the weather that had caused him to stop. Rather it was two large, burly, and swarthy men carrying baseball bats that had drawn his attention. Looks like their job might be interrupted for just a little bit.

She dug her hands into the pockets of her shorts, swinging her weight backwards and forwards on her heels. It'd been easy to stay still when she needed to compete with gravity, but on solid ground, the fidgeting was never long off. She was honestly one of the least gross children of the Hendricks household, at least she changed her socks a few times a week. The same could not be said for her brother Buzz. "We should wait until at least Tuesday before breaking anything." Kestrel kept her voice low and playful, her eyes flicking every now and again to the cards her teammate was shuffling. When you've got an attention span as fickle as her's, it was easy to grab, "You're pretty good at that." She commented absently, odd coloured eyes flicking between his hands, "Don't you ever confuse yourself mid-shuffle?"
He couldn't help the annoyed sigh that left his body. They had a job to do. Aurelion didn't care about distractions or delays, even if they weren't your own fault. Leuco would rather face two guys with wood then the leader of the White Fang any day. "Why do we always run into the nutters on our jobs?" He grumbled, half to himself, taking his cigarette out of his mouth and extinguishing it on the ground. Frankly he didn't mean a good fight, it was a decent distraction, gave him something to focus on, but today, he was not looking for anyone to brawl with, and he was pretty sure Kieran had similair sentiments. "Every time I leave the house to do something, the streets fill with these guys." He talked to his compaction, rather ignoring the two men, only gesturing to them with his hand, eyes staring back at himself from the visor, "Startin' to think I'm cursed."

Loki chuckled a bit as he stopped shuffling for a moment. "Thanks. And no, I don't. Only way to to keep up with this is to know every card at every moment. Otherwise I might pull out a queen when I need a ten, or a lightning card instead of an ice card." He started to send the deck between his hands again and stopped halfway through. "Took a lot of practice until it became almost subconscious. Ace of spades." He held up one half to show the exact card on the bottom. "Cards are pretty much the only thing I'm talented in. Everything else is either luck or faking it."
