I know. I'm much less outraged than I'm acting. The forums can be confusing that way.

Wait, are we Role Playing on this site now? I thought we would wait until the old site was terminated?

Oh yes, but this site seems so active right now. The old RP is basically dead right now.

It's so weird to see the old forums so quiet. There's only 100 members on instead of the usual 200-300. Posts on the sidebar are sometimes from an hour ago when it used to be mere minutes.

Yeah... I'm pretty much done with the RiverClan page, just gotta update the news and make the actual title.

On a brighter note, I was told that there is supposed to be Internet at camp. So hopefully I'll be able to get on!

Shamelessly posting my new story here until the story page is made. This is about if Earthstar never returned to RiverClan and if Mistfall had to take over!

If RiverClan wasn't at StarClan's mercy then, it certainly was now.

Mistfall lay her head on her paws, watching the camp activities with heavy eyes. She had just returned to camp with the heavy news that Earthstar had been captured by twolegs. She had been dozing when it began. Earthstar was quite unstable, and she made it her goal as deputy to make sure he didn't stray. This was an exhausting task, and she finally had enough. Of course something bad had happened the one time he wasn't under her radar.

The leader had foolishly left camp by himself. Mistfall didn't know the exact details, as she was in a deep sleep, but he was followed by a few worried warriors. By the time they got there, he had been in the grasp of twolegs. The deputy was far too late herself, and she felt horrible. It was Paleeyes, Shininglight, Brookheart, and Icepath that had followed Earthstar.

While it was a no brainier that it was awful to have RiverClan's leader taken by the creatures that cats ultimately could not fight, no matter the circumstances, Earthstar had turned quite delirious following the murder of the medicine cat Stormspirit, which was an awful event in itself. His behavior was tearing the Clan apart from the inside, having arguments with himself in his den while the rest of the duties were done by Mistfall, whether he knew it or not. This made the she-cat feel rather uncertain. RiverClan certainly wasn't in any better shape than it was before, but surely she could maintain the Clan better than a delirious tom before his return?

More importantly, it stung. Blazestar was supposed to be the leader of RiverClan after the battle for the forest that left every Clan devastated. He had killed the treacherous leader Adderstar with his own claws, thus ending the reign of terror that was AdderClan. However, he had vanished without a trace shortly after, without a deputy even, leaving it up to StarClan to choose a new leader. And they had chosen Earthheart, a loyal warrior who never once considered falling into a dark path. And now he was gone, too.

Why would StarClan choose a cat that they could so easily take away from us? Mistfall thought miserably. RiverClan had been through so much in the past moons, and all she wanted was peace. She thought Earthstar's rise would be a sign of good things to come, but clearly their starry ancestors thought otherwise. Or maybe they were simply punishing the leader for doubting his faith in them. Either way, it was a bad situation.

Her train of thought was interrupted by Diamondheart, a fluffy white and gray new warrior. He wasn't Clanborn, instead found an orphan, but he had already proved himself as a worthy warrior. He had much potential, and so Mistfall chose him to go. "We're going, Mistfall," he said. His eyes were heavy with nervousness; the deputy could tell. He flicked his tail to Icepath, Brookheart, Phantomspots and Troutpaw, the other cats on the patrol. "We'll find Earthstar. We promise."
Mistfall nodded. "Don't put yourselves in danger," she cautioned. It would be awful and unfair for Earthstar to return under the premises that another Clanmate was lost in the process. She didn't want that one bit.
Diamondheart looked at the rest of the patrol. "I can't promise that for them, but I'll try," he chuckled, letting off a bit of his nervousness.
"We'll try our best!" Brookheart added, Icepath nodding in agreement.
"Go on, then," Mistfall flicked her tail.

And with that, the Earthstar rescue patrol had left. And Mistfall had no idea what was in store for her.

Exhausted, Mistfall led her paws to outside Earthstar's empty den. The gathering had just ended, and the deputy had to fill in for her leader. Talking to cats from every Clan terrified her more than anything, but she had to do it, for RiverClan's sake.

Interestingly enough, Northstar, too, had been absent. This was quite peculiar. Northstar was never known for missing gatherings - in fact, this was the first gathering she wasn't present as leader. Thankfully, this was to Mistfall's advantage. The other Clans were much more questioning of ShadowClan than RiverClan, who had clear history of missing leaders. I wonder where she was, the deputy thought as she laid in her nest. Falcontalon insisted that she was fine, but it's obvious that isn't true. Was she captured by twolegs, too?

Her thoughts drifted to the rescue patrol. They had left not a moon ago, yet it felt like seasons since she had seen her Clanmates. Diamondheart, the new yet loyal beyond anything warrior, Brookheart and Icepath, the two siblings who had been there to witness Earthstar's kidnapping, Phantomspots, a tom awaiting the expecting Rosefrost at camp, and Troutpaw, the leader's son. Mistfall couldn't imagine how the apprentice felt, having to explore dangerous, unknown territory to rescue the tom.

Wherever they are, keep them safe, StarClan, she thought, losing herself to sleep's embrace.

"Mistfall, look! They're back!" the excited call of Rosefrost echoed from outside the nursery, probably for Phantomspots.

Mistfall shot straight up. She had been dozing - once again - but Rosefrost's call had her up like a twoleg. She bounded to the entrance of camp, where she met the patrol of cats she hadn't seen for moons.

An uneasy feeling met her as she scanned the group. Everyone she had sent out was there - but there was no brown tom with green eyes awaiting the deputy. The uneasy feeling was immediately replaced with dread. She didn't need to press, as Diamondheart began speaking.
"I'm sorry, Mistfall..." His head was lowered, as with the rest of the patrol. "We searched every corner of Twolegplace... There was no sign of him."

"Earthstar is gone."

"I can't believe it had to come to this..." Fallowleaf sighed as she entered the dark cavern of Highstones.
Mistfall nodded in agreement, not saying a word. The news had racked her heart. Blazestar had vanished shortly after receiving his lives, and now Earthstar has suffered the same fate. Now it was her turn to take on the task of leader, and she felt more uncertain than ever. I can't even talk to the Clan, she thought. Does StarClan expect me to lead them every day? Did they get rid of Earthstar to prepare me?

Mistfall followed the medicine cat through the dark tunnel, using her whiskers to guide herself. At last the light of the Moonstone illuminated the cavern, and the she-cat paused to take in its beauty. "Come," Fallowleaf whispered. "Touch your nose to the stone, and meet StarClan."
The she-cat nodded slowly, gazing at the stone that would determine her fate. Would StarClan accept her? Was Earthstar going to greet her, or was he still alive, whittling away his nine lives wherever he was? She shook her head. None of that mattered now, it was clear.

With a heavy heart, yet also without hesitation, Mistfall touched her nose to the stone.

I emailed them, because I have no idea why I was banned. Because I didn't do anything wrong, I was just on patrol with Dimondheart and I left and came back an hour later and it wouldn't let me back on the site.
