From A.B. Club: "... Heyman has teamed up with Chinese film company Alibaba Pictures to develop a movie based on Warriors, a dramatically sprawling series of cat-based fantasy novels written by Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, and Tui Sutherland (all under the pseudonym Erin Hunter)" ... the series "also seems extremely complicated, with warring clans of rival cats vying for control of a forest" ... these cats are "otherwise normal cats dipping their little, bean-like toes into the waters of revenge, romance, and political intrigue far from the unaware eyes of humans" ... "some cats are designated as deputies, doctors, or warriors" ... and "all the cats have two-part names that designate their status like 'Sandyclaw,' 'Lilypad,' or 'Bramblepelt.'" ... Okay, what? Warring cats trying to control the forest? I don't think "A.B. Club" has read Warriors because I would not describe Firestar and Tigerstar's feud as "dipping their bean-like toes into the waters of revenge."

Now wait, here's something interesting from "Parent Herald".
"The main character of the warrior movie is Rusty. He is a feline cat and has been taken care by humans. However, he chooses to collaborate with wild cat clan in the forest.
David Heyman describes Rusty as a stigmatized, outsider, not from the forest and lived in the comfort of a human home. Therefore, the story of the movie will focus about Rusty. It is about how he will adapt to a new place and how he learns to be in that place even if it takes a lot of hardships. Despite his struggle, he still managed to rise up."
Let's try to ignore all the typos if we can. Then it goes on to say
"The fans could expect a lot of warrior movies after the first one. The producer of "Harry Potter" movies stated that there will be many films that will keep on telling interesting stories and audiences will surely embrace these movies wholeheartedly."
There might be more movies? Really? I kind of find that hard to believe, to be honest. Anyway, it's good to know that it'll be about Rusty/Firepaw/Fireheart/Firestar and not some made up cats.

Also, you guys are probably all aware of this but I wasn't. I found a trailer for the book.

I hope that the first post is just due to the fact that this is a Chinese company taking on the movie, and those quotes sound weird maybe due to translation? However, if that's really what they said word for word then yes, they did not read the book. "Doctor" instead of "medicine cat" gives that away.

Totally. That or it's a really amateur website written by 6-year-olds but run by their parents who don't know what they're talking about. I hope it's what you say.

I really wish the wonderful YouTube animating community was creating this movie. From the way this sounds, medicine cats wil, be known as doctors in the movie. The movie will be based more around the cats fighting and being cats rather than their feelings and how relatable they are. This doesn't sound like it will do justice to the warriors books.

I have a bit of experience in movie criteria and I don't think this will be at all what we're hoping it will be. If proper Warriors fan-imators were making it, I agree it would be a lot better. Although when you said "medicine cats will be known as doctors in the movie" I just imagined cats in sterile gloves and doctor masks with scalpels and tweezers xD. "Petalpaw, pass me the cardiac pads!" "Sure thing Mousefeather"

Oh, I just thought of Mr Bean and when they're doing the operation to get the bullet out the patient and he loses his M'n'M in the patient..... And imagine Jayfeather thou... "Hey, Leafpool..." "Yes, Jayfeather?" "Um... I don't mean to alarm you, but I think I just... uh.. disabled Firestar's heart."

Interesting to say the least....
But I agree with people above, these are translations, so the exact wording should be taken with a grain of salt. However, since a Chinese company took the project over, I really hope they and the Harry Potter Director actually read the books before starting on the movie. If not, we might get a shell of what a true Warriors movie should be.

Are you sure I should operate on our leader?" And Jayfeather is like, "Sure, go ahead. It'll be fine. Just give me a yell if something goes wrong." Then he pulls out his braile book and starts to read. About an hour later, Alderpaw is like, "Uh, Jayfeather? Should blood be coming out of Bramblestar's heart? And shouldn't he be breathing?"

Thunder! You're killing me. XD Alderpaw looks at Mint. "Um, Jayfeather, she's like, dying..." "Go ahead and operate, Alderpaw," says Jayfeather. An hour later... "Jayfeather... I think... Did I just...." Alderpaw backs away from Mint. "Yep, she's dead," Jayfeather kicks Mint aside. "Welp, time for our next victim... I mean, patient."

I can't wait for the movie! I think it is going to end up being pretty well made and will (mostly) follow the plot line of Warriors.
