MacKenzie went a little pink when Kaeden told her about how she looked in her unfiorm. Even if it may have been a little bit of a tease, Mackenzie always went a bit pink when people complimented her. She shook her head in amusement and took a quick sip of water. "I don't know how cute someone could look in a uniform but at least I can make it work." She played along and did a 'Z' snap in a sassy fashion. As sassy as Mackenzie could get anyway. She pushed up her glasses, which had a tendency to slip every now and then and took another sip of water. Mackenzie let out a tired sigh and tilted her head back. She did not want to go to ROTC today, hopefully Msgt. Barry wouldn't do any surprise inspections on the first day. But he just might since she was wearing her Blues instead of her A.B.Us like usual. Mackenzie looked around at the other and addressed them as a whole, but wouldn't have cared if none of them had listened. "I'm going to go get ready. Let me know when the bacon is ready, because now I'm hungry." She declared as she headed back to her room with a glass of water in her hand still. She was able to find her formal uniform (her blues) quickly since she didn't have many clothes in her closet. She grabbed those quickly after setting down the water and took them to the bathroom since she needed to take a shower and no one was in there anyway. She took the shower quickly, not wanting to use any more time than she already has wasted and started working on straightening her hair. Since it was too short to put in a bun, Mackenzie had to fix it to be straight. Her little name tag and such that she needed to put on her uniform were scattered about the bathroom counter and she nearly had a heart attack when she though she lost a backing to one of them. Mackenzie put on her concealer and foundation very lightly since she never wore a lot of it (and wasn't allowed to wear any make up that didn't match her skin tone anyway) and put on her cover. The material on her shoulders looked straight in the mirror, but she needed other opinions as to see whether or not they are spaced correctly and straight. She exited the bathroom and went back out to the kitchen, "Can someone help me out? Or several people? I need to make sure I have this right..." Mackenzie looked down at the pin with her last name on it and the material on her shoulders with a very concentrated look on her face.

Skylar had never been much of a morning person, which explained why the redhead was one of the last people in the sharehouse to wake up. She would've slept even longer, had a loud crash in the kitchen not frightened her so badly that she went from fast asleep to wide awake in an instant. She listened for a moment, then relaxed, noting that nobody downstairs sounded frightened. She considered going back to sleep, but the sound of Ari's door opening across the hall changed her mind.
Jumping out of bed, she yawned, stretching to wake up her tired muscles, before exiting her room and heading to the bathroom. She splashed some water on her face, pulled her hair into a ponytail, and headed down the stairs, taking a flying leap off the fourth stair from the bottom and landing on the floor below. She landed perfectly, though one of these days she'd end up twisting her ankle or something. At least, that's what Aleks always told her, though when did she ever listen?
By the time she walked into the kitchen, she was wide awake, her eyes twinkling and a big smile on her face. "Morning, everyone!" She chirped, hopping up to perch on the counter. "Hope y'all didn't start the party without me!" She still wore her pajamas, a matching set that was bright pink with fluffy blue clouds. It looked like something a five year old might wear, yet it somehow suited Skylar perfectly.
Hearing Mackenzie's request for help, she perked up, turning her bright gaze on the other girl. "Sure, I can help you out! What do you need?" She inquired, hopping off the counter and walking over to her friend.

Ariella Faye Harper The dark-haired lass shot Hannah a look at her stuttered words. If looks could kill. She raised an eyebrow but held her tongue, biting back a sharp remark. It was a bit too early in the day to make the mousy girl cry, and Ariella was hesitant to start a war this early in the semester anyway. It wasn't that she disliked the other lass, but she had just never taken to her. Hannah was too quiet and unsure of herself for her taste, and she found it difficult to tolerate the socially inept blond simply because she made Ari feel awkward herself. That said, she was doing her best to be nice, especially since she had promised herself and her two closest friends that she would try harder to be a nicer person this year. And by nicer, she meant stop making as many snarky comments outloud. In her head was a completely different story.
Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she turned away from the blond and took a sip of water. As the voices of the others drifted to her ears, Ari opened her eyes and studied them quietly. She finished her glass, filling it once more, and shuffled toward the table, pulling out a chair and plopping down beside her friend. Setting the full glass on the table, she brought her legs up beneath her bum to sit crisscross applesauce on the chair and turned again to watch the going-ons of the kitchen as more of her housemates began to stir.
When Kaeden spoke, she rolled her eyes, a slightly amused smirk pushing up at her lips. She recalled seeing him the night before and let out a small huff of amusement at the memory of her housemate at the party. The tall lad was always good fun, and she quite enjoyed being around him despite his incessant teasing. He was one of the few in their share-house that seemed to enjoy going out as much as she did, and it was nice to have a familiar face when out and not entirely coherent.
"As always," she agreed with a shrug before taking another sip of water. "Why? Did yours run out? You seem to need it more than I do."
Before she could open her mouth to speak again, her other friend bounced in in her cheery, Skylar way. Her arrival put a smile in Ari's eyes as she watched the red-head. She may not be a morning person or even the cheeriest of people, but the other lass had a way of brightening her mood. That said, she furrowed her brows at the other girl and offered her a grumble of a greeting, "Who in their right minds parties at 7am?"

MacKenzie smiled at Skylar, grateful for her help. She didn't have the best sense of organization, which Msgt. Barry has gotten on her case for before, so it was essential if she wore her uniform correctly. Mackenzie looked back down at her uniform, at the short sleeves the pants and so forth. "I need help to make sure I ironed these correctly so the creases aren't in the wrong place. I extra starched it, so hopefully there aren't any issues..." she sounded unsure of herself though. Which was to be expected, Mackenzie had forgotten the exact way she was supposed to iron her uniform and was unsure if the placement of her last name was either in one place or another. Oh, she was in for it this time. Hopefully her instructor wouldn't go too hard on her. She always wanted to be in the Air Force and to be told she failed would lead to a complete meltdown of Mackenzie's part. And not the meltdown where she would lash out at people she knew, but the kind where she would drown her sorrows in ice cream and take her anger out on other online players in Rainbow Six Siege.

Ah yes, Ari fired right back - as expected. Kaeden wasn't mad at her, though. He could appreciate a girl with a sharp tongue. Her quip earned the girl a dimpled grin in return and then another laugh, apparently everything was extremely amusing to him this morning. But anyone who knew Kaeden was aware that he was quick to laugh, quick to smile and super quick to pull the same reactions from other people. It was a little bit harder in the mornings but the mood seemed to lighten instantly when Skylar came in the room. Jeez, and Kaeden thought he didn't a pretty good job of waking up with a smile on his face. The girl's energy was enviable but pretty much always a constant. He'd opened his mouth to make another pass at Ari but the sound of Sky's voice diverted his attention. And then he realized his pajama game was super-duper weak. Item two on the agenda would be a matching set of whimsical sleepwear and embarrassing slippers.
He'd been mostly sedentary since coming downstairs but now Kaeden moved, shuffling over to the fridge. Someone who wasn't him needed to go grocery shopping. He was pretty much down for anything most of the time but quests through WalMart weren't his forte. THen again, maybe he could trick someone into going with him and then the two of them could cause some mischief in the isle. He finally retrieved what he'd went into the icebox for: a bottle of orange juice. He poured himself a glass, replacing the receptacle and leaning against the kitchen counter as opposed to making the treck all the way back to his previous seat.
"I don't know who I'm gonna tell, but someone's gonna hear about how mean you are." He was speaking to Ari, not at all serious, then he was addressing the gaggle of students as a whole, " Ugh. Why did I go to that party? I mean, I know why I went to that party but I still feel entitled to this pity party. "

Alecks continued playing his game for a mere few minutes before slipping his cellular device back into his pant pocket as his eyes went back to the group of people. He crossed his arms in his idle stance as he debated on if he should finally give the gift of speaking. He wasn't narcissistic or anything he merely worded it that way as it was so rare for him to just speak when he's not meant to. It was an odd thing about the male in classes and work people labeled him as a friendly guy. However on the other hand during free time he could be labeled as a strict and silent young gent who merely enjoyed observing others then joining in their fun. Even amongst his two close friends he was like this always observing, and lecturing them when they'd want to do something, like party for example. Alecks himself had never gone to a single party even when his friends did, in fact he always had a pretty good excuse for those type of moments.
Hearing Kaeden's question statement Alecks debated on finally speaking since waking up this morning. "Most likely because you enjoy headaches in the morning." His first words since opening his eyes today. It was befitting for his first words of the day to be a small lecture to someone. He never saw the benefit in parties, or drinking for that matter. Though he had gotten drunk before, and he regretted it fully as the next morning he awoke with his 2,000 dollar dragon tattoo. Ever since then the lad hadn't touched vodka, or alcoholic poison.

MacKenzie stood at attention so Skylar could look her over, she didn't want to mess up her concentration or move so she wouldn't be able to tell if something was in place. But she did respond to Kaeden's comment. "That's why I don't go to parties. You should have just stayed an played Call of Duty with me since I have no social life anyway." She smirked. Mackenzie would have looked at him fully instead out of the corner of her eyes but it was difficult to when she had to stand still. It was almost tempting to ask Skylar for permission to adjust, but she didn't. For one thing, she wasn't her instructor, and the other thing was that she didn't want to screw anything up more than she was already doing that for herself. Apparently Mackenzie was an expert at that sort of thing. Maybe she should just stick to art and video games, where she could turn her screw ups into something besides something cliche like a 'life lesson'.

Skylar tilted her head to one side, seeming to seriously consider Ari's question for a moment. "I once had a neighbor who threw an impromptu neighborhood party at seven AM," she mused, grinning. "But that was a long time ago. Back in Canada. Canadians do some really weird things." Fun fact for you there: Skylar was Canadian, or at least had been. She'd moved to America when she was nine, had held her green card ever since. No wonder she was so nice. Grinning, she shook her finger at her friend. "There is never a limit to party time!"
She turned back to Mackenzie then, a serious expression crossing her face as she scrutinized the other girl's uniform. She reached out, straightening a very slightly crooked name tag, then flashed a rather exaggerated thumbs up. "I know nothing about how ROTC uniforms are supposed to look," she admitted, deadpan. "But if I was grading you, you'd get an A+." Very small comfort there; Mackenzie would've made the grade in her pajamas if Skylar were her master sergeant.
Lazily, she tilted her head back, peering at the upside-down image of Kaeden behind her. "We all know Ari's mean. It's a miracle we all love her still." She winked, eyes sparkling. Of course, she didn't mean a word of it. Skylar couldn't be mean if her life depended on it. "But seriously. Hangovers are the whole reason I don't drink. Diet Coke all the way for me."

Ariella Faye Harper At her friend's words, the raven-haired lass frowned, tipping her head to the side in thought. Now why would anyone want to party at seven in the morning? She hardly wanted to be awake at ten in the morning, let alone be drinking and partying and such. It was far too early. If she could, she would avoid the morning completely. Afternoon was the best time to wake up in her opinion. Rush hour traffic would be avoided, the guilt of missing breakfast was avoided, and so many other things could be avoided if one were to wake after noon. It was hard to believe Miss Ariella Harper was even awake at this time. If it weren't for you meddling kids hadn't been for her noisy housemates, the lass would have still been trying to sleep off her hangover.
When the water in her cup had been finished, the dark-haired lass stood and deposited her glass in the sink, reaching for the soap and dish cloth. She quickly cleaned the item in her hands and set it to dry in the dish rack before turning and leaning against the counter. Although not exactly a morning person, Ari found herself not entirely hating this morning conversing though she would have much rather been bundled up in bed, sleeping the day away. But now that she was up, she might as well make use of her time. Perhaps she'd make a run to the store before heading to the gym to get in a workout. Her team might not have had a scheduled practice that day, but she needed her daily workout if she wanted to get playing time during the season.
As conversation shifted to hangovers and the lack of drinkers in the house, Ariella shifted a bit. Out of the large number of people in the house, only a small handful frequented the night scenes on campus. It didn't bother the girl too much but she hoped her habits weren't too bothersome to her housemates. She often stumbled in late into the night, bumping into things and taking the occasional tumble down the stairs. It could be a bit loud when she returned, especially if she and the others all got back around the same time or from the same party.
The sound of her name shook her from her thoughts, and she turned her head to stick her tongue out at the other girl. "I only speak the truth," Ari returned with a noncommittal shrug of her shoulders. She would admit that she wasn't the nicest of the group, but it didn't bother her. Sugar-coating things was not her specialty. torr it's such a gr8 tune tho i must argue that wi is known for their beer sooooo...

Seeing as the conversation was slowing down and Aleks hadn't said anything past his small little statement he turned his gaze to the door. At this point he was wasting time, something he didn't really care to do. So reaching once again to grab his cellular device to check the time. It was still early so he didn't have anything to do. He didn't start classes til tomorrow, as for work well he had to be there around four tonight. Aleks had taken to being a waiter as he wasn't a fan on relying on his family in fact he hadn't asked for money from them since he was in the starting years of high school. He had always been a working gentleman.
His mind went to silence for a moment before he snapped his left fingers as he came up with something he could be doing. "I'm heading out to walmart. Anyone want anything?" He questioned them turning a note app on his phone so he could list anything. Aleks wasn't a home body, in fact he was quite the busy bee type of guy. If he wasn't doing anything it aggravated him to no end, that was one of the reasons he joined jujutsu. At this point he was debating on going back out to get in some more training, but alas the lad had showered so he wasn't too keen on getting sweaty again.
As he waited for people to list off stuff they needed he took the time to get ready to leave. Finding his under armour sneakers and slipping them on as he waited at the door. "I'll pay for whatever you guys want... Well if it's reasonably priced." He added another little fact about Aleks is he has a lot of cash. Working a job, and a investor in stocks tended to gift him with the benefit of a lot of fat stacks.
