Have you ever wondered why Norman doesn't drive? Well, he tried to, but each attempt just ended up worse than the last, and they started something like this...
First: Nikolas
"Alright Norman, now just start the car."
Norman nodded and picked up the key from the ground, he had already dropped it twice out of nervousness, he couldn't afford to drop it again. Once it was safely in his hands, he entered it into the car and started up the engine.
Nikolas nodded approvingly. "Very good Norman, now turn off the emergency break..." he instructed and Norman did as he was told. "Good, now just press down onto the gas," he instructed.
Norman had just recently got his driver's permit and it was up to his brothers to teach him how to drive. Nikolas had offered to go first since he was a slow driver anyways and was probably the best person to slowly reel Norman into driving.
"Okay, okay, I'm pressing the gas..." Norman said as he very gently put his foot on the gas pedal, not even pressing down enough to start moving.
"Norman...press down a little harder," Nikolas instructed, even this was too slow for him. So Norman nodded and pressed a tad bit more.
"Like this?"
"More."
"How about now?"
"Norman please."
"How about now?"
"Just press the gas pedal!" Nikolas snapped slightly, loosing his patience. Norman didn't blame him, it was a trying time for all of them with breakups and moving around so often. However he still hadn't expected that and, started, pressed down really hard on the gas pedal, making them zoom forward.
First Norman screamed, Nikolas gripped onto his seat for dear life, and then Norman lost control of the wheel and they started towards the nearest building.
"Norman take your foot off the pedal!" Nikolas yelled and Norman, poor boy was probably near tears, did as he was told and quickly pressed on the break.
They came to a very sudden halt, and the airbags popped out, hitting them both, but luckily, neither were dead.
Norman wiped at his eyes and glanced over at Nikolas, giving a sheepish smile. "So uh, how'd I do?" He asked, voice sort of squeaky.
Nikolas was quiet for a good minute or two before he looked over at Norman. "Maybe it would be best, if Ty or Kai taught you instead..." he instructed carefully, still gripping onto his seat for dear life, and Norman gave a pathetic attempt at a laugh. This did not go well, did it?
-
Second: Kai
"Alright so from what I heard from Niko, you nearly crashed the car, that's okay, none of us were good drivers in the beginning," Kai reassured, making Norman feel a little better. "I'm just glad I got to you before Ty did, he'd try to teach you how to ride a motorcycle! Which is-" Kai began to ramble and Norman had to clear his throat to get his attention.
"Kai, maybe we should start driving now," Norman suggested and Kai nodded. Norman then focused on the wheel in front of him as he took a deep breath. "You can do this," he told himself as he lightly pressed on the gas and they started to slowly move forward.
Kai grinned. "Perfect Norman! I knew you could do this, now just turn the corner..." he instructed, pointing over to the corner they were slowly approaching.
Norman's eyes widened. "You want me to turn? No Kai I don't think I'm ready for that, can't we just stop there?" He asked and Kai sent him a look that showed how much he did not agree. Norman sighed. "Fine. I'll...I'll give it a try," had agreed and slowly started to turn the corner.
"Actually Norman you may want to go a little bit more fast here," Kai explained, resting his head back, plenty more relaxed than Nikolas had been.
Norman started to panic slightly. "But last time!"
"You can do this Norman," Kai reassured breezily and Norman, though unsure of how true that was, nodded and started to speed up.
He would to faster and then instantly hit the beak. Go faster, hit the break, it was becoming a tiresome cycle. "Norman, you need to trust yourself, you can do this," Kai told him after a minute.
Norman nodded and finally turned the corner, he was doing better this time and continued on, getting a bit more comfortable with speeding up a bit. However then, as a cyclist entered, which Norman didn't see, things went wrong.
He smiled over at Kai as his foot pressed onto the gas pedal a bit more. "This isn't so bad..." he said as they started to speed up.
"Norman why are we going faster?" Kai asked as he peaked open an eye for a moment. "Norman eyes on the road! We're going to run into that cyclist!" Kai shouted, which admittedly, made Norman panic and press harder.
There was lots of screaming, the cyclist couldn't get out of the way and Kai had to reach over and take the wheel from Norman to steer them out of the way...and right into a lamppost, which caused the car to dent and the airbags to go off.
Norman stayed like that for a few moments as he regained himself before he risked looking over at Kai, who had gone a pale purple from his head to his tail out of fear. "Heh...guess it's Ty's turn, right?" He asked quietly and Kai looked at him.
"Yep."
-
Last: Ty
Ty plopped down in the front seat, a bottle of something probably alcoholic in his hand as he buckled up. "M'kay Norman, let's get this show on the road," he instructed as Norman got in and started to move the seat forward.
"Are you sure you should be drinking that?" Norman asked, still moving the seat forward, he was short and he had to get his feet to the pedals somehow.
Ty glanced over at him. "Why not? It's not drunk driving if I'm not the one driving," he explained and tapped his head as if waiting for Norman to appreciate his genius. "Besides, according to Niko and Kai, I'm gonna need it if I'm driving with you," he added and Norman really wished he could deny that. "You almost done yet?" Ty asked, gesturing a lazy hand over to the seat he was currently moving up.
Norman glared at him and moved it a bit more forward before stopping. "There, now I'm done," he explained stubbornly before he started up the car.
At first, things seemed to be going alright.
Norman was careful to keep his eyes on the road, to go slow, and watch out for cyclists. Course that didn't stop Ty from getting drunk beside him.
The cat hybrid chuckled lightly. "Hey, Norman, did you know that when we were seven, I wanted to name you Killerexplosion? What a cool name, amiright?" He slurred out and started to paw at one of Norman's ears.
"Yes Ty, I know..." Norman said and waved his hand away with his own. "Stop that, I'm trying to focus," Norman told him and Ty grumbled. He stopped for a few moments before getting back at it. "Ty stop," Norman told him.
Eventually he got tired of it and turned to face him, taking his hands off the wheel as he glared over at Ty and moved his foot to what he hoped was the break-it wasn't. "Ty, stop. I'm trying to drive-" he paused as the car sped up and he frowned.
They both turned just in time to see a cat. Then there was a loud bump and Norman instantly pressed down on the actual breaks and they both got out.
"Oh my g--, I ran over a cat!" Norman said, clearly distraught.
Though that was nothing compared to Ty as he walked out of the car and saw the cat. He gasped and sat down, scooting over to it. "My cousin..." he said softly, starting to tear up. "You ran over my cousin Norman! Why? Why did it have to end this way?" He asked over dramatically, petting the cat softly. "Poor kitty, poor, poor kitty."
-
After that, the brothers were all sitting in their hotel room, none of the older three looked all that pleased with Norman, who just sort of sad there uncomfortably.
Finally, Kai spoke. "Norman...We've given this some thought, and maybe you just aren't ready to drive yet. How about we give it a few years and try again?" He suggested and the other two nodded along beside him.
And that is why Norman doesn't drive.

Mafia AU: By Feign
''Ey, buddy, pal. I'd like to stake my money for that, y'know, eh, cash prize.'' Orange said. He had a strange name, but he dealt with it, and if anyone in his gang made fun of his name- they'd go straight to the trash.
Kenneth raised his eyebrow. ''Eh, Orange, the usual,'' he gave a slight grin, finishing up cleaning up a cup, before getting out his die.
''Are you sure, pal? You're going to be risking a 'lot o' money for this.'' Kenneth spoke up. He didn't bother to say that gambling was banned in this area, because no one ever listened to him when he warned them about that.
''I never back out of these things, Kenneth. You 'know that already, don't ya?''
Kenneth rolled his eyes. ''Let's just get over with it.'' He then rolled the die.
Lady Luck did not go on Orange's side. ''----. ----!''
Orange kept swearing repeatedly. He had just lost the gambling.
Kenneth shrugged, before going back to cleaning.

Chase didn't bother to ask why his boss had an angry expression and mood, he had dealt with worse.
''STOP SLACKIN' AROUND, LET'S GET TO WORK, 'EH?'' Orange shouted.
Chase nodded. He would never defy boss. He had seen what happened to those who did.
Chase shuddered, and shook his head. He couldn't think about that.
''Ye, boss!'' He said, before heading out to sell illegal fruits.
''FREE FRUIT!'' He called out.
In a matter of time, Chase had been successful.
- -
Austin grinned. ''Yes, this amount of money. You'll just have to pay this every few days.'' He said.
Soleil and Wither looked at each other, surprised.
''No, no,'' Soleil said, begging. ''That is too much,'' she spoke in a French accent.
Austin was a loan shark. He was not about to beg them to do it. He was apart of a Mafia. He knew what they did.
''Pay this, or I'll kill your family.'' He threatened, giving a crooked smile.
Wither hissed. ''I'll kill you.''
Soleil looked in terror. He knew that this was no joke, by the tone in Austin's voice and the look in Austin's eyes. Austin slowly got out a knife, and smiled crookedly. ''I know all of your information.''
''Trust me.''
''Uh, uh, deal!'' She said.
Wither sighed. He knew
''Great, great. Uh, 'meet me in this here alleyway 'again to pay me, 'eh? If you don't pay me the moneys, you 'know what 'appens, 'eh?''
Soleil and Wither both nodded in terror.
And the master shark loaner had done it again.

Kaden was not nice at all. He had tried to shark-loan, but the person constantly refused.
Well, he killed the person.
Now, he was targetting a random person, called Red.
''SOMEONE, HELP, PLEASE!'' Kaden called out. ''RED!''
He had learned information about Red slowly, gathering it.
Red in shock, followed the noise. Before him was a dead body.
Out of no where, Kaden shouted. ''POLICE!'' He ran past Red, giving him the knife, and looked behind him, grinning as the police came.
Oh no.
Later on, Red was forced to pay Kaden loans to ''pay for hospital bills,'' for his, ''family member.'' Ha. Pathetic.
Kaden won this round.

The Last Brother: By S'more
Niko's version
The Last Brother: Niko's version - by S'more.
“Life often is not kind, it prefers to hurt, to kill, to damage you,
However you cannot let it, for then it would win and you would loose,
Do not let life beat you, because you are so much stronger than you know,
Fight it, survive through it, prove the world wrong, because that’s what it is, and you are right.”
Nikolas leaned back in his chair, putting the pencil down as he looked at the pages of paper he had stacked upon a pile. It was poetry, truly it was…however he often found himself needing to take breaks while writing, otherwise…he started to remember.
What did Nikolas Mike Walters, otherwise known as Walter Melone to the publishing world, remember?
He remember the past and what he had been through in his 27 years of life.
You see, Nikolas had not lived an easy life, he was taken from his home in Russia at the young age of three, he was experimented on, turned into a creature known as a hybrid, which of course was a human/animal cross. He was a black and white ruffed lemur hybrid.
Though it was at the labs where he had met his brothers, Kai, a gentoo penguin hybrid at the time, and Ty, a long haired tuxedo cat hybrid. Of course there had been more as he grew older, by the time he and the other two were seven, a young two year old Eurasian red squirrel hybrid by the name of Norman had joined their brotherhood.
For a time, everything was good, that was until Kai acted out against the scientists, they all got punished for that.
Finally, after seven years of putting up with torture, the four brothers escaped, though their journey was far from over, they faced many more trials after their escape, and eventually they included another into their brotherhood, a bluejay hybrid by the name of Indigo. Though that was short lived really.
Later, they had also been joined by four orphan, human girls by the names of Margo, Jai, Sia, and Olive. For a time, life had been good. Nikolas even found love in an African wild dog hybrid by the name of Juno.
But of course, for every time there is peace, a storm soon follows.
Olive was soon taken from them, she died too young and far too soon, and soon after her, Jai followed. Then it wasn’t long before Sia joined her sisters in death. Though for Nikolas, that was just the start of his long list of losses.
Juno soon was expecting, they would have six children on the way…only for all six of them to die soon after birth, Juno couldn’t take it, she left. Then, after months of being away, she returned, only to die a few months later.
After all that, a war started up, Nikolas had long forgotten what it was about, all he remembered was that he and his brothers fought in that war, Ty especially was at the front of the line. He took control of many situations and lead their side of the war to victory.
Only to die in one of the last battles of that war.
The brothers were devastated, Kai vowed to take revenge for Ty, to find the killer and kill them no matter what, Norman closed himself off, diving so deeply into his work that he often forgot to take care of himself, and Nikolas….he fell quiet.
Loosing the others had been hard, yet loosing a brother, who had been apart of his life for the last 19 years…it was truly devastating.
Kai did eventually find the killer, and after two and a half years of looking, he got his revenge. Kai killed the person who had taken his brother’s life, however…at the cost of his own, which was another toll on the two brothers left.
Norman especially had taken loosing Kai hard, the 18 year old hybrid learned how to fight, and he brought back something that should have been left to history, for you see he had started up his mother’s work after almost four years of being dormant, he brought back the organization known as Wings.
It was different this time around, for Norman was in charge and he would not experiment on any hybrids…humans of course were a different matter, after all it had been humans who had taken most of his family away from him, he cared nothing for them…and who knows, they might even help him learn how to fix problems hybrids had.
Nikolas however, became more broken, he and twelve year old Margo stuck with Norman, and Margo got invested in his work, becoming an excellent second in command for him, as Nikolas was too shaken up over his losses to do much, in fact it was around that time that he started to publish his poetry.
Now Norman’s work got him in deep waters with plenty of dangerous people and far more enemies than friends, he had often expressed how it was like chess, and everyone were the pieces, except…at the moment he was playing without an opponent.
That lasted three years before finally someone tried to put a stop to his work.
You can’t play chess without an opponent, and many opponents did Norman face that year, yet no game lasted long, Norman always won…until, he didn’t. A human took him down, killing him in the process.
Margo fell apart, Nikolas shut down. Yes by the end there Norman had been as twisted and dark as his mother, yet he had still been family, and he had still been loved, at least by Nikolas and Margo.
Soon they were the only ones left, Margo vowed revenge for Norman, and Nikolas…he had thought of ending it a few times before Margo finally realized that out of all the people that needed her most, it was Niko, and at least for the time, she had put her quest for revenge aside to take care of her depressed brother.
A half a year passed and that brings us to the present.
Nikolas could still remember his last conversations with each brother.
He had spoke to Ty right before entering battle, Nikolas had to stay back to watch over Margo, but he could remember what he told Ty before he had left.
“Ty, you don’t have to go,” Nikolas told his brother, who had grown out his hair again, having it in a short ponytail, he looked like a mess…well he looked like he had been in a war, and that was what this was.
The cat smiled over at his brother, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder, and for looking so worn down, he still seemed to have that sort of patriotic, determined look to him. “Yes I do, besides, we’ve basically won this, they need me out there, and I intend to fight for this until the bitter end,” he explained, a sort of unexplainable fire in his eyes. “Don’t worry Niko, I’ll come back, just like I always have, I promise.”
That had been the first time Ty had ever broken a promise, and it had been the last.
Nikolas closed his eyes as the memory faded, a new one replacing it. This one was his last conversation with Kai, who had not been as well off as Ty.
“Niko, I don’t think I’ll be home for awhile…remember how I had told you I…I found Ty’s killer?” Kai asked over the phone, his breathing harsh.
Nikolas nodded, even though he knew Kai could not see, he and Norman were out, avenging their brother, Nikolas had injured himself and was forced to stay behind with Margo. “Yes, have you killed him?”
There was a pause before Kai answered. “Yeah, I killed him, but…he got me too, Norman’s still catching up…I don’t think I’m going to make it, Niko I’m dying,” as he said that, Nikolas nearly dropped his phone….no, not another. “I have to go, the phone’s battery is almost dead and I need to save my breath for when Norman gets here…but Niko, just know that I love you, okay?” He asked.
Nikolas nodded again, his voice breaking slightly. “I love you too, but Kai you are not going to die, Norman will save you-“ he paused as the connection was cut off…he could only hope that his brother would be okay.
He wasn’t.
Kai had died and Nikolas hadn’t been there, just like how he wasn’t there when Ty had died either, and to make matters worse, he hadn’t even been there when Norman died either.
“You don’t understand Niko, what Margo and I do is for the good of the hybrids, very few humans aren’t horrible, however most are, and what we’re doing is what they deserve and it’s helping hybrids, why can’t you understand that?” Norman asked, he had grown up quite a bit from before, much taller and much more fit now, he looked quite good really.
Nikolas looked down. “I just don’t want you to get hurt,” he explained.
Norman’s gaze softened as he looked at his brother and hugged him briefly. “Don’t worry Niko, I know what I’m doing, I’ll be back tonight, but I have to go now, Margo and I have some business to take care of, see you soon,” he promised before walking out of the room, Margo at his heels.
Nikolas stayed where he was, for some reason he had a feeling that no, he would not be seeing Norman anytime soon.
The man went rigid as he remembered being told by different people each time that his brother had died, first Kai had to tell him about Ty, then Norman had to tell him about Kai, and then last…Margo had to tell him about Norman.
It was all a bit much to handle and the man soon found himself crying softly, this was why he needed to take breaks, or else he remembered the things he wished to forget.
Soon a fit looking sixteen year old girl entered the room, her short brown hair bouncing slightly as she walked. “Niko…Niko it’s alright…it’s just another memory,” Margo comforted as she patted her older brother’s back. “It…it’s just…just another memory,” she said, her voice trailing off as she fell quiet, a haunting look in her dark blue eyes.
Nikolas snapped out of it and looked up at her. “Margo?”
She nodded, giving him a bittersweet smile. “Yeah Niko, it’s me…” Margo glanced over at the paper. “How about we go for a walk, some fresh air could do you some good,” she explained and helped him up. “Maybe we can even go and get a treat,” she suggested.
Nikolas nodded, looking a little bit lost as he stood up and Margo started to lead him outside. “Yes…fresh air, that…that might be nice,” he agreed.
Margo nodded encouragingly as she opened the door and lead him out, promptly closing the door behind them and taking the blanket off his shoulders…he was far too young to have such old eyes in her opinion. She still needed to avenge Norman, for she had lost all her family too, however right now, Nikolas needed her more.
He had lost more than her, and she had lost a lot, she had lost her sisters, her brothers, and her love of her life, yet Nikolas…he had lost his children, his wife, his sisters, and his brothers. There had never quite been a connection like the one the brothers had had, and Margo doubted there ever would be again.
She lead him outside, taking in a breath of fresh air as she glanced up at him, what did you do, to help the man who had lost everything? How did you fix something so broken? Margo was beginning to believe: you couldn't.

Kai's version
The Last Brother: Kai's version - by S'more
“Thank you all for coming, and have a good rest of the night!” Kai walked off the stage as the clapping continued, well that was another show done with, he was going around the world, see Chamo was going on tour.
It was a good excuse to find the ------- -------- who had killed his brothers, all three of them had been killed, and those stupid, idiotic, -------- thought they could get away with it. Kai was going to prove them wrong by killing them and everyone they held dear.
He took off his Chamo mask and placed it down on the drawer in his dressing room, he had hired a crew to work with him long ago, and considering he was making quite a lot of money, hiring them had been no problem. Over the seven years of playing Chamo, it was quite easy to say that the character had become quite famous, and not just as Chamo, but Kai as well.
He was a hybrid celebrity, and he loved it.
Why? Because it was the perfect cover, and it made for a great day job.
Kai paused slightly as he looked into the mirror in the room and he couldn't help but change his appearance slightly so it looked almost like Ty.
The brother that had started the entire thing…and the first one that Kai had lost.
He remembered it well, it had been two years after they escaped from the labs, there was a war going on…he and Ty were leaving to go fight in another battle, one of the last in the war actually. Ty had spoken to Niko before hand, they would have spoken to Norman as well, but he was undercover at the moment, a double agent for the other side.
Kai looked into the mirror as the flashback began, he remembered how it happened all too well.
Ty had that look on his face that was usually followed by him doing something brave and incredibly stupid. Kai didn’t like it one bit. “The sniper that keeps taking out our men, Kai can you pinpoint where he’s coming from?” Ty asked, looking over at his brother.
Kai paused, putting down his own sniper rifle for a second to look over the battlefield before he spotted a glint hiding in the bushes on the other side and quickly pointed over there and Ty nodded as he got up.
“I’m going after him.”
The chamguin paused. “Ty, he’s gonna see you, I’ll get him, camouflage myself, you stay here where you aren’t gonna get killed,” he told him firmly.
Ty thought it over before shaking his head. “No, Kai, you’re slow, you’ll never get over there fast enough, cover me, I’m taking him out,” he explained and before Kai could argue, the cat had already started over and Kai sighed before getting the rifle ready again and he fired.
He continued to fire at all the enemies, causing enough of a distraction for Ty to make it over, hopefully he took the guy out and took care of this, they needed to win, it had been far too long since they had began.
It wasn’t long though before he heard a yell of pain…Ty, that was Ty, almost instantly Kai camouflaged himself and darted over to where Ty had gone, what he found though…was Ty, shot in the chest, and no sign of whoever shot him.
Kai could worry about that later, right now his brother was surely dying. He sat down by him and pulled his brother up slightly. “Ty…Ty, what happened?” Kai asked.
Ty coughed up blood. “There was two of ‘em…got shot, I’m not Norman…not gonna survive this,” he explained and Kai frowned, about to speak when Ty continued. “It’s okay though…I’ve lived a good life…and hey at least now that I’m twenty one, I can say that I legally drank before dying…there was some time there when I didn’t think I would be able to say that,” Ty explained.
Kai looked at him. “Ty…you…you can’t die, we need you, they need you…I need you,” he said, his voice breaking and Ty smirked slightly, his breathing getting shallow.
“You don’t need me, you’ll be fine-ahh,” he winced in pain. “- that hurt,” he muttered and Kai didn’t bother correcting his swearing. “Listen Kai, I…I love ya bro, I love Niko, Norman, and Margo too, can you…can you pass that on to them?” He asked.
Kai nodded, his eyes staring to water.
Ty smiled. “Good, also… you win this war for me Kai, you win it and you kill that son of a ----- who killed me, okay, I wanna greet him in ----,” he explained.
Kai nodded again. “Don’t worry Ty, I promise…I will avenge you,” he said and Ty nodded along as he closed it eyes.
That had been the last he had said, and Ty died in Kai’s arms, though that wouldn’t be the last brother to do that.
The war was won not long after, and Kai had found the person who had killed Ty, and he had killed him, it had been bloody, and it had been gruesome, and if you asked any one of the brothers, they would have told you that he deserved it.
Kai shook his head, that was all done and over with, he had avenged Ty, and he had enjoyed doing that…however sadly, Ty had not been the last of his brothers to die, at least he hadn’t died in vain like Nikolas.
His appearance changed again, and soon Kai found himself looking at someone who almost looked like Nikolas in the mirror. Nikolas…he had died protecting Margo from the Russian mafia, who had finally found the brothers.
It happened three years after Ty had died, they had all adjusted to life without him, and then thats when the mafia found them, they were looking for Ty, as he had caused the most damage, but they would settle for killing the others, they had found Margo, thirteen years old and just as bullheaded as she had been before.
Margo had refused to tell them where any of the brothers were, and thats when Nikolas arrived, they were going to kill her, he fought them off…only to get stabbed in the end, Margo had tried to take down the people who had slaughtered him, yet that was all in vain and instead she had died as well.
Kai hadn’t been there, he and Norman came later, with Nikolas already dead and Margo on her death bed…Kai and Norman had both been devastated.
It was a shame the mafia didn’t know about Kai’s killing past, it was extremely unwise to make an enemy out of him, and that was exactly what they had done.
Needless to say, the Russian mafia has a lot less occupants now than it used too, and he is definitely someone they want dead…not that that will happen anytime soon.
Kai looked into the mirror as his appearance changed again to look more like Norman, the last of the brothers to go, and undoubtedly the most scarring.
See, after the death of Nikolas and Margo, Norman had started Wings up again, and he was good at the game he played with so many, Kai stuck by his side, becoming more like his second in command, though of course he still had to focus on his shows, but when he wasn’t doing that…needless to say, no one messed with the head of Wings and got away with it.
That is…until, someone thought that they could.
Two and a half years after Nikolas had died, that’s when Norman fell too. It had been just like any other evening, he and Norman were meeting with a new player, that was what Norman called any new enemies, he had decided to put an end to the game then, after all it really was about time it ended, besides he was busy with other matters.
However…well, when they met this new player…it was a whole different matter.
Kai stood stiffly by the door as Norman waited for this new player to arrive at the office, at least…at Norman’s public office, the 21 year old looked sort of bored, he had heard of someone who knew of his work and wanted to talk…which of course meant this person wanted in, he didn’t know who it was yet but he was sure he could take care of this quickly.
The doors opened and Kai’s eyes widened as he saw who it was, he glanced over at Norman, who showed no emotion as Thaddeus Ivy of all people, entered the room. Thaddeus had fallen sick six years ago, he almost died, it was a miracle that he was still alive.
He and Norman had been friends up until the death of Ives, and the two quickly went separate ways after a horrible clash, neither had expected to see the man again.
Norman stood up, walking over to Thaddeus with one hand in his suit pocket and the other out for him to shake. “Mr. Ivy, what a surprise, when I had heard someone wanted to speak with me, I hadn’t assumed that it would be you,” Norman told him politely, though their was a slight bite in his voice.
Thaddeus glared at him. “Enough of the formalities Norman, we need to talk,” he said, it would seem he wasn’t much of a pushover anymore.
Norman nodded and gestured to the chair. “Fair enough, what do you want Thaddeus?” He asked as he went back to sit down in his seat.
Thaddeus looked at him, keeping eye contact. “I want you to stop what you’re doing, I know that you’ve been taking humans and experimenting on them, how can you do this? After everything you went through six and a half years ago to stop this?” He asked, straining his voice slightly.
Norman replied in a rather emotionless voice. “People change, I’m doing what needs to be done, I’m helping hybrids and giving humans exactly what they deserve…don’t worry, I’m not taking innocent people,” he replied.
“You need to stop,” Thaddeus told him firmly.
Norman smirked slightly and leaned forward, resting his arms on the desk. “No, I don’t, and you can’t make me stop, my mother wasn’t so far off when she said life was a game of chess, stop trying to be a player Thad, after all, you’ve never been anything but a pawn,” Norman replied.
Thaddeus sighed and reached into his jacket. “I’m sorry you feel that way Norman…I didn’t want to have to do this,” he explained and in a movement to quick for either of the remaining brothers to catch, Thaddeus had pulled a gun out of his jacket and fired it at Norman, shooting him in the head.
He fell dead instantly.
Almost instantly, Kai ran over to Norman and picked him up, though he knew he was already dead…nothing, not even his fast healing could save him from a shot to the head, this was it, his brothers were all dead.
Kai had been too shocked over loosing Norman to do anything to Thaddeus at the time, which had given him enough time to get out. Kai frowned…here he was, half a year later, on a tour around the world because he had been searching for Thaddeus…, it had taken awhile but he finally knew where he was.
Tonight was the night he finally avenged the last of his brothers.
Kai turned away from the mirror, changing out of his Chamo outfit and into his chameleon suit as he grabbed a few weapons to store in the pockets and headed out, humming an all familiar tune as he went.
“Hmm la to la, hmm la to, hmm la to la, hmm la to, brother will avenge you now…”
“Thank you all for coming, and have a good rest of the night!” Kai walked off the stage as the clapping continued, well that was another show done with, he was going around the world, see Chamo was going on tour.

Ty's version
The Last Brother: Ty's version - by S'more
“Mr Walters sir, can you please help me tie my shoes?”
Ty looked down at the child in question and the 27 year old smiled and nodded as he knelt down to be at eye level with the small human boy. “Sure Teddy, you gonna go out and play with the others?” He asked as he tied the boy’s shoes.
Teddy nodded, grinning happily. “Thats right Mr. Walters sir, Aaron, Brad, and Timothy are all gonna be on my team, we’re playing hybrids versus humans!” He explained with a smile.
Ty chuckled slightly and patted his head, most people might be a bit offended by that, but Ty really wasn’t, he took care of the orphans enough to know they didn’t mean anything by it. “Oh? What side are you four going to be?” He asked.
Teddy puffed out his chest proudly. “Hybrids! Like in your stories Mr. Walters sir, your war stories!” He explained and smiled up at him. “I’m gonna be you!”
Ty’s gaze softened considerably and he practically melted at that. “Well I’m honored, who are the others going to be?” He asked and Teddy answered easily.
“Your brothers! Just like in your stories!”
Ty melted even more at that. “Would you mind if I watched?” He asked and Teddy shook his head.
“Nope, come on Mr. Walters sir, we’re about to start!” Teddy explained and ran over to the other three boys, only one of them was a hybrid, but Ty still found it cute that they were going to be hybrids…he and his brothers even.
See, for the last couple of years, Ty had been working full time at an orphanage, often telling all the kids stories about his past, and those four in particular had taken a liking to the stories he told about his brothers.
He followed the four of them outside and leaned against the building as he watched them play. He found it all adorable…however it brought back memories…see, six years ago he had fought in a war, as had his brothers, however not all four of them made it out alive. Kai had died on the battlefield, it was a memory Ty would never forget.
“Kai, can you spot the sniper?”
Ty waited as Kai put down his own sniper rifle and looked around before pointing in a direction, Ty nodded, a smirk on his face. “I’m going after him, you cover me,” he ordered.
Kai shook his head. “No, you’ll get spotted, I’ll go, I can camouflage myself,” he explained and Ty was about to argue, however Kai didn’t let him as he had already camouflaged himself and passed the gun to Ty. “You might still want to cover me,” he added before making his way over.
Ty rolled his eyes slightly at his brother before getting the gun ready and firing, fine Kai could take care of the sniper.
However at the sound of a scream…Kai’s scream, Ty wasted no time in abandoning his post as he darted after Kai, shooting anyone who tried to stop him until he reached his brother to see that he had been shot and was bleeding heavily…whoever had shot him was already gone.
He dropped the gun and walked over to his brother. “Kai, what happened?” He asked.
Kai’s breathing was already short and Ty could already tell that from where he was shot…he wasn’t going to make it, he wasn’t Norman, he couldn’t heal fast. “There was two of them, I took out the first but I was spotted by the second, he…he shot me, I…I’m loosing a lot of blood,” Kai said as he looked down at the wound.
Ty nodded, trying to make light of the situation. “Yeah…you are, but don’t worry, we’ll get you help, you’ll be…you’ll be fine, I promise,” he said and Kai looked up at him with a small smile.
“I know, you’ve always had my back…but if it’s alright, I…I think I’m going to close my eyes for a bit,” Kai explained.
The cat sniffed slightly. “Try to stay awake for me, okay?” He asked and Kai bobbed his head along, though it already seemed he was falling in and out of unconsciousness.
Ty tried to hide his worry. “Kai, stay awake a little longer, okay buddy?” He asked and Kai nodded, agreeing to that. “You know I love you bro, right?” He asked.
Kai smiled at him. “I love you too Ty,” he said, trust shining in his eyes, it would seem that Kai had no doubts in Ty, or that his brothers would save him. “I love the others too, when…when we get back to them, I’ll have to tell them that…we don’t tell each other that we love each other enough,” he said, loosing blood rather fast.
Ty smiled and brushed some of Kai’s feather’s out of his face. “Yeah…We should say it more, I’ve got to take care of the rest of the people here, but you just…you just hang in there, okay Kai? We will get you help, I promise.”
“I know Ty,” Kai replied as he fell out of consciousness.
It wasn’t long before Kai died, there had been nothing Ty could do to save him…it was the first promise he had ever broken, and he would try to make it the last.
Ty shook his head to clear it from those types of thoughts, Kai had been dead for six years…yet still, he remembered. The cat tried to focus on the four boys playing but…the one who was playing Niko…it stirred up more memories for the cat.
See, three years after Kai had died, and believe him when Ty said his brothers were all devastated, they ran into more trouble…with the Russian mafia, they came looking for Ty, as he had…well he had really ticked them off before, however he had been out when they came by.
The only ones that had been there had been Margo and Nikolas, and Nikolas had been in the back. They demanded to know where he was, and Margo refused to tell…she had always been such a good girl.
Except then they killed her for her silence.
Nikolas had been alerted to their presence after that and he…he had taken out his anger on them for killing his little sister, except they over powered him…they killed him too, Ty and Norman didn’t get there until both were already dead.
It had hurt them more than either would ever admit.
From that point on it had just been him and Norman, they relied on each other to keep each other afloat, and it worked, but then Norman tried to start Wings up.
Ty could still remember the argument they had had over that, and the tragedy that followed, it was a year after Nikolas and Margo had died, four years since Kai had died, and five years since Wings had been taken down by Norman himself…looking back, Ty couldn’t help but think that maybe…maybe if he hadn’t argued with him, maybe he at least would have one brother alive.
“Ty, Wings wouldn’t be hurting hybrids anymore, my mother didn’t die to let her life’s work rot away until it was forgotten! Just let me rebuild it, please…we could find who killed Niko, who killed Margo…and who killed Kai, we could make them pay, and we could do some good, think about it Tyler, we could find out how to help hybrid children survive, think about the kids Niko lost because our genes were flawed,” Norman argued and Ty looked over at the twenty year old with a frown on his face.
He folded his arms and shook his head. “No, Norman, it’s a bad idea, you will become just like Hazel, if we allow ourselves to bend the rules, treat humans how they have treated us in the past, we would be no better than they would have, I’m sorry Norman, but I’m not going to let you do this,” Ty told him firmly.
Norman glared at him, the two had had a lot of arguments lately, it was hard without the others and the two had a tendency to clash rather often, especially since Norman was not a little obedient kid anymore, he was an adult who didn’t want to listen to his brothers all the time anymore.
“I need some air, I’ll be back later,” Norman muttered before grabbing his leather jacket and walking out of the house.
Maybe if Ty knew that would be the last time he saw Norman alive, he would have gone after him. For you see, when Norman had left the house like that, he had run into a gang, a gang who he had messed with before, and they beat him to death, it wasn’t until three days later that the cops had found his body and Ty…he had broken down.
Now, two years later, Ty really regretted a lot of things he had done throughout the years…however there wasn’t much he could do about any of it now, his brothers were all dead….his family was all dead, he had no one, this orphanage was all that he had left, and he would protect each and every last kid here to the bitter end.
“Mr. Walters sir.”
Ty was dragged out of his thoughts by Teddy, who was tugging at his sleeve lightly. “Yes Teddy?” He asked, smiling down at the boy.
Teddy smiled back. “Could you play with us? Aaron says I don’t make a very good Ty, they said I could be someone else though, and I think they’re right, I don’t make a very good Ty…so could you play with us? You could be Ty!” Teddy offered.
Ty nodded, patting the young boy’s head. “Of course I’ll play, and you bet that I’m going to be Ty, there isn’t anyone out there better for the job!” He explained with a grin as he went over at joined the others. “Now, who are you going to be Teddy?”
Teddy thought about it for a minute, who would he be? “I can be…I dunno, there’s nobody for me to really me anymore Mr. Walters sir, not now that you’re Ty,” he explained, looking at the ground sadly.
Ty smirked as he got an idea. “How about this, you be Ty too,” he suggested and Teddy looked up at him with wide eyes.
“There can be two Tys?”
The cat hybrid nodded. “Absolutely, in fact, the more Tys the better! Heh, there can never be too much of something good,” he explained and Teddy beamed as he ran off to the other three.
“Guys! Mr. Walter sir said we can both be Ty!”
The other three cheered excitedly as Ty went over to join them, looking the four young boys over.
“Now, I know who plays Ty…and Ty the second, but who are my brothers?” He asked.
Aaron raised his hand. “I’m Niko! He’s brave, and loyal, and he would do anything for his brothers!” he explained and then Brad raised his hand as well.
“I’m Kai! He’s really smart and caring, plus he can kick butt better than anyone else!” Brad said excitedly.
Last little chipmunk hybrid Timothy raised his hand. “I’m Norman! He’s really clever…and brave…and strong!” He said, shuffling his feet lightly.
To join in on the fun, Teddy then raised his hand. “Then you know who I am! I’m Ty, the bravest, coolest, most awesome of all the brothers!” He explained.
Ty chuckled and ruffled the hair on Teddy’s head. “Before, I would have supported that statement there Teddy, but if you want my opinion, it was the other three that made Ty’s brother’s great.”
He smiled as the other three agreed. “Alright, now that we got that settled, lets play, shall we?”

Norman's version
The Last Brother: Norman's version - By S'more
“Can you three be good for two minutes?”
Instantly the three black haired, pale skinned teenage boys shut up and got back in their car seats…when Uncle Norman snapped it was never a good sign.
“Sorry Uncle Norman…but just for the record, Tyce started it,” the one with the feathers instead of hair explained, and pointed over at the other, the one who had a long chameleon tail and scales on his cheeks.
Norman glared back at them. “I don’t care who started it Nikolas, I’m ending it right now,” he explained.
“…Uncle Norman, you know I prefer to be called Nick…”
The squirrel hybrid sighed, this is what happened when you took in the three kids of your dead brother. You got graying hair at the age of 22, which was far too soon in Norman’s opinion…though he had only found two, but that was not the point.
“So Uncle Norman, where are we going again?” The third boy, who looked almost like a miniature Kai asked.
“We’ve going to the cemetery where my brothers are buried,” Norman replied and ignored the three of them for the rest of the trip there, though if Tyler “Tyce” Walters bugged his brothers one more time, Norman was going to have to go back there himself and tell them to knock it off.
They soon got there and Norman parked the old, dying jeep on the road and got out as the other three followed after him, crashing into each other as well. “Okay, so this is what we’re going to do, we are going to visit where Niko, Kai, and Ty are buried, you three are going to behave or else I’m not getting you three ice cream after, you will be respectful to the deceased and we will leave when I say so, understood boys?” He asked.
The three nodded, giving fake salutes in response and simultaneously responded with a: “Yes sir.”
Norman glared at them. “I mean it, you might all only technically be over a year old, but you look sixteen and I expect you to act like it, when I was sixteen, or hey even younger, I was very well behaved,” he lied easily. “Are we ready to enter the cemetery now?”
They nodded and he sighed in relief as he lead them in, today marked the 27th “birthday” of his three older brothers, who celebrated it on the day they had found each other…of course all three of them had died by now.
The first tombstone they got to was Ty’s, where it read: Here lies Tyler “Danger” Walters, a friend, a warrior, and above all else: a brother.
Norman placed some flowers down on the grave, ignoring the three teenagers behind him, he remembered how Ty had died very well, it had been two years after escaping the labs, there was a war going on, Norman had been sixteen at the time, and working undercover on the enemies’ side to gain information.
He hadn’t been told that Ty had been killed in action until the war was over, it was Kai who told him…Norman could easily remember how he fell apart after that, the brothers…plus Margo, just weren’t the same after Ty had died…it was a toll on all of them, he remembered that Kai had vowed to take revenge, while Niko broke apart.
However he had dove into his work at the time, which was finding out his family’s secrets, Hazel had died later that year and it had been surprisingly hard on Norman…and even harder on Lukas, who had wandered off years ago, Norman wasn’t really sure what happened to him.
Norman had however found out about his family, he had gone all the way back to the very first lab for answers, met someone who knew about his grandparents, and he found out a lot about himself and his family.
In the meantime, Kai had killed who had murdered Ty, not only that but he had found a girl and they fell in love, which comes into play later.
However during that time…when Norman was still away, he lost another brother.
Three years after Ty had died, the Russian Mafia found the brothers, Norman had been gone at the time…He got called back home by Kai as he explained that both Nikolas and Margo had died, it was a trying time for the two of them.
Norman placed flowers on Niko’s grave as well, he would stop by where the sisters were buried and place flowers down for them another time, today was brother’s day.
For awhile there, it was just him and Kai…and Kai’s girlfriend of course, they adjusted to life again…until Kai’s girlfriend got pregnant and died giving birth, this had happened just over a year ago, two years since the death of Nikolas and Margo.
Kai was more than willing to raise his children, the triplets, however the day after their birth, there had been a fire, Kai got caught in it, he died that night, leaving the triplets in Norman’s care.
Norman hadn’t been their for any of his family’s deaths, however he had vowed to keep their legacy alive. He started Wings up again, however…for better reasons, he had at first used it to get revenge on humans, however Kai had helped him see how wrong that was, so now instead it is a friendly facility, dedicated to studying humans and hybrids alike and help both.
No one was getting experimented on.
Now, you can only imagine though, how absolutely terrifying it had been for Norman to get custody over the Kai’s triplets, they didn’t even have names yet and he was expected to raise them, he had never had to raise anyone before, yet…he wasn’t scared, in fact he had been strangely calm about it all.
He had of course named them after his brothers.
The oldest was Nikolas Ives Walters, a gentoo penguin hybrid who went by Nick now…Norman refused to call him that.
The next had been Tyler Thaddeus Walters, a veiled chameleon hybrid who preferred to go by Tyce, again Norman refused to call him that.
The youngest was Kaiyo Indigo Walters, a gentoo penguin/veiled chameleon hybrid who looked like the spitting image of his father, and he went by Kay, though once again, Norman did not call him that.
Norman placed the last bit of flowers on Kai’s own grave and closed his eyes. “Happy 27th birthday guys,” he whispered quietly, content to stay there at their graves as he remembered the first time he had been told that one of his brothers had died…He had been happy moments before, they had won the war.
At the cost of Ty’s life, which in Norman’s opinion, was not worth it.
The second time it had been over the phone, and Norman had been told that not one but two members of his family had died, that had been extremely hard and he had to take a flight to get back as soon as he could.
Then the last time…It had been a complete stranger calling him, he was told that Kai had died in a fire in the apartment, he had been out that night…and that one also came with the surprise that he now had to care for the triplets.
Though Norman had to admit that he sort of assumed that Kai might have died a lot sooner had it not been for the triplets mother, who had helped Kai out through so many of his trials, only to die after giving birth.
Norman didn’t have much left, all he had to remember his brothers by were the boys, and no matter how much stress they caused him, they were his family, his nephews and he loved them with all his heart.
Speaking of the triplets, they were being surprisingly quiet…where did they go?
Norman quickly turned around, figuring he would have to chase after them, however to his surprise he found all three of them bowing their heads respectably as they looked at the three graves.
A genuine smile found it’s way on Norman’s face…He knew he didn’t mess up entirely with those three.
It was Kay who first noticed that Norman was watching them and looked over at his uncle. “…What were they like?” He asked.
Norman smiled. “They were the most amazing men I have ever met,” he told them honestly, his voice soft and Kay smiled back as Tyce and Nick looked over at him as well.
“Do you think they would be proud of us?” Tyce asked sheepishly and Norman got the idea that while yes they were asking about all three, they had a certain one of his brothers in mind, their father.
He nodded. “Yes, you know, you three actually remind me a lot of them, even if you are a bit more stressful than they ever were,” he explained.
Nick tilted his head as he looked over at Norman with a small smile. “Really?”
“Yes, and I know this wasn’t what you asked, but I hope you know that your father would be extremely proud of each and every one of you, and your other uncles would be just as proud…I just wish you had the chance to meet them…” Norman trailed off, looking at the ground.
He wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but a group hug from the three boys certainly wasn’t it…the hug felt…nice, like when he would get hugged by his brothers.
No one said anything for awhile before finally Tyce stopped the hug.
“Yeah okay, that’s enough hugging for me,” he explained and put his hands in the air in mock surrender.
Kay rolled his eyes and lightly punched his brother in the arm. “Yeah, we all know you can’t handle real emotion,” he lightly teased and Tyce frowned at him.
Nick held back and looked at Norman. “They would have been proud of you too,” he told his uncle quietly.
Norman smiled, looking down at the ground. “I hope so…” He trailed off before clearing his throat and getting back into the flow of things. “Well, if we’re all done here, how about we head back to the house?” He suggested.
Kay and Tyce stopped teasing each other and looked over at Norman, simultaneously asking: “Ice cream?”
The squirrel chuckled lightly. “Yes, we’ll get ice cream first,” he assured and Tyce pumped his fist in the air.
“Aww yeah, come on, lets go guys!” He said and started off, turning a happy yellow color at the thought of ice cream, and Nick quickly followed after him.
Kay turned to Norman as they started to walk back. “You know…you haven’t told us many stories about your brothers…” He started and Norman shrugged in response.
“Kaiyo, I am the sole leader in charge of a rather large company, I don’t really have time to sit you three down and tell you stories…besides, whenever I have tried to before, you all ended up fighting each other,” Norman explained, placing his hands in the pockets of his suit as they walked out of the cemetery and back to the car.
Kay chuckled slightly. “We’re getting better…you know Uncle Norman, maybe…maybe while we’re all getting ice cream, you could tell us a few stories about them? Back when you were all together?” He asked sheepishly.
Norman thought it over, he would like to share some of the stories he had about his brothers with the triplets…”Okay,” he agreed and paused as a thought came to mind…oh there were just so many stories he could tell, which would he even start with?
He smirked as he found a good one to start with. “Have I ever told you about the time Niko, Ty, Indigo and I scared away someone your dad was crushing on?”
“Can you three be good for two minutes?”
Instantly the three black haired, pale skinned teenage boys shut up and got back in their car seats…when Uncle Norman snapped it was never a good sign.

Chapter one
Killer 'Croc' - Kari's Story: Part One
Kari struggled. Badly. She couldn't get captured- she refused to go back after making those friends- she couldn't go back. They were trusting her to do her job.... and she finished it, but she had to go back to tell them. The stupid spider had caught her off-guard, which Kari really did not want to admit. She hated the hissing voice in her ear as stabbed her with.... a syringe. Just like the ones at the labs. Hah.
Though after darkness hit her, she awoke to the light of the cages. Oi. She looked around to her own neighbor- being M4 meant she was in a corner, thus only had little contact with others. M3, M9, and M8. M3 never spoke. And she didn't focus on M8. M9 was the only real contact she had. And he was... strange. The male was a leopard.
"Yellow," he called out from across the hall with a grin. A sloppy one, but genuine. He couldn't be glad to see her- it meant she failed escaping. Yes, the leopard knew she had plans to escape. He supported her, but rejected following her. She was glad... because he had no idea what she had done. He had no idea how much blood she had on her hands.
"Green, Blue, Purple. Red, Orange." Kari continued with a roll to her eyes. At least the male knew how to cheer her up. It was an on-going joke between the two. One bursts out a color and the other finishes with the rest. Something to remember the colors that were drilled into their brains.
He burst out laughing. He liked to call himself Soren. She got the name Kari from him. She had felt guilty for not bringing him along at first, but her former friends convinced her that he wanted to stay here as he had rejected Kari's offer. Ah, she missed the small group. She had been the fifth member- and then more people came, an older male by a few years, a hummingbird hybrids.... She remembered the raccoon that briefly saw them and was a fun guy to be around. And couldn't forget the silent boy who joined later but immediately was trusted by the deer. And then more and more came.
She missed them. And she felt so guilty for being forced to leave- all because of that stupid spider. He stopped laughing noticing she was laughing too. "Kari, are you okay?" She shook her head lightly and he frowned before smiling with a one of a kind grin from of his. It was sadistic almost, but it had such friendliness to it- she was surprised he wasn't a predator that lured his prey with kindness rather than the kind of predator he was, stalking them until they had no escape.
"Well, I have just the thing to cheer you up. I've been thinking, finally time to escape, huh? After all- you were gone and I wanted to see you again. Wasn't expecting it to be before I put my plan into action... but still. You up for it?" He questioned. As she looked up she was stuck by the grin again- it was utterly perfect.
She nodded quickly. "Tell me what to do."

Chapter two
-- Killer 'Croc', Kari's Story :: Part 2
It had taken weeks of planning to get the full-proof plan ready. And when they put it into action, Kari started to doubt it. She was running, downstairs and around corners. Soren was in front of her the entire time. Which was why she doubted he noticed her being put into a headlock by a male scientist there. She flicked her eyes around for help- Soren was out of sight, but other than the male holding her someone just watch as her breath left her body. She was going to die by being choked to death.
The man waved something to the male, Kari didn't know what he was signifying at the moment. But he left. His face had been void of emotion. And... he was younger than she expected somewhere here to be. But no matter, she was still dying.
Until she got a breath of air. It surprised her, but she spun around to see her leopard friend smashing the man's head against the ground with his foot. Kari shook her head lightly, she ushered him to follow so they could get out. They managed without anyone getting re-caught.
"We made it Kari!" Soren breathed out as the stood in front of a group of trees, barely far from the labs. The alligator was smiling. So was the leopard. They were free again. Finally free. And there was no way in hell Kari was going back. No ----ing way. "No longer kept indoors, in cages. No more leashes. No more- no more being prisoners Kari~!"
She could only nod her head in excitement. "We did it Soren. We are free-" She could go back to her frien-.... Should she?
Kari had a single friend, who would not tell her who to harm. They thought she had died most likely. Soren and her could stick it out- Kari didn't want to be kept on a leash like Bambi did. She didn't want to be forgotten in the background like Doroth,y Abraham, Nic, Cato, Arella. She didn't want to go back to them at least, despite their friendship. And... they had most likely gotten a different person to fulfill her position.
She was no longer stuck there, under watch of Lili and Brandon. She was free. Free and with friend. The leopard took her hand and began to twirl her around in a dance. She happily accepted, smiling as she was spun around. They were free.

Chapter three
-- Killer 'Croc', Kari's Story :: Part 3
They had stuck together longer than Kari expected. She had really thought Soren would leave her. Leave her to explore without someone else being a burden on their side. But he didn't. The leopard gladly searched around the city for a place to stay- he generally wore long sleeves and hats, simply to cover his ears and spots. His tail was hidden away too. meanwhile she had gloves to protect her scale and claw ridden hands. Her eyes had to be covered by a hat... and her thick tail was difficult to disguise too. But someone they managed.
They had grown close. He actually got it out of her what she did before being returning to the labs. He learned about what she had to do. He felt bad slightly- she could tell he liked the stories. By the friendly grin on his face, yet it was still so menacing. She loved it.
He... He encouraged her though. As she explained who she had to... who she had to kill had done he agreed wholeheartedly. People who lied to her friends, people who shoved hybrids around, people who were freaking awful to the group. But, she was almost afraid he was too over-excited.
And then one day they met Zoey. She was such a sweetheart. So kind, so joyful. Which was why both of them were surprised when she attempted to stab Soren. He laughed it off, it surprised Zoey. SHe quickly apologized and ran. It was such an odd experience. Kari had to stop Soren from going after her.
It was insane to see the bloodlust in his eyes, but it was so normal for him. It made her feel normal to have the feeling.
But, it was days later when another strange approached. He had a harmful intent unhidden in his warm eyes. It was strange to see that look on someone other than Soren, He introduced himself as Jonathan. He said that we tried to hurt his friend. He tried to attack them too, but Kari apprehended him quickly with a headlock. She smiled as Soren looked at her with approval.
He was shocked. Even more so when she let him go. He backed away but didn't rn. He offered them a chance to join an organization they were in. The Snake Eyes. An assassination group, they were paid money to kill. Generally it was the boyfriends or girlfriends of their partners. Other times it was threats or people getting in there way. Kari enjoyed it. She liked it a lot, and whenever she needed to team up, she joined Soren.

Chapter four
--Killer ‘Croc’, Kari’s Story :: Part 4
It was Kari, Soren, Jonathan, Zoey, Blake, Callum, Christie, and Emmy. They made up the Snake Eyes. They were the best assassins out there in total, each had a different style. Zoey took the sweet approach, but despite her kindness she had a bloodlust that rivalled Callum's. Callum took it as his priority to cause as much blood as possible, to cover the body in dents and bruises. Nobody recognized those he killed at least.
Emmy and Blake worked as a partial team, catching cheaters and such when needed. Both trained in a skill of seductiveness, and yet they were actually married. It was ironic to see the married couple flirting with others and both being completely fine with it. And Christie played mind games. She scared her victims s---less. It was scary, she threatened them over an amount of days until they decided to die one day. Jonathan was a brute, he didn't hide his intent at all. He was blunt and efficient. Of course, he was the biggest guy there.
Then Kari and Soren were the more stealth-oriented killers. Soren was a lot more careful though, he didn't strike until a few feet away unlike Kari. Kari surprised her victims and took their lives with quick effort. And when the teamed up, the victim had no chance of escape. No chance of life as Kari made them run into Soren's trap. But... Soren played with them before they died. He tortured them before the inevitable death.
They did so well, and Kari got along so well with everyone. Callum and he enjoyed talking. Zoey was always so sweet, Jonathon was gruff but he tried- it was adorable. Emmy and Blake were fun to talk to about a normal life, and Christie always had exciting stories. And of course Kari and Soren got along well.... but he did not with everyone else.
He was quieter around them. He didn't give his dark, beautiful and comforting smile unless he was alone with her. It was so strange to see, but Kari didn't think anything of it. She was on her next assignment. It was to kill the girlfriend or Amanda Wallington's boyfriend. Well, his other girlfriend.
It was an easy job, she caught them doing it and killed the other gf. He was lying shocked in a pool of blood, the usual when it came to her killing. She loved how he gasped in horror as he saw her eyes, alligator eyes were more snake-like than a snakes. Hence why she was also adored in the Snake Eyes group.
So she went back to headquarters.

Chapter five
Killer 'Croc', Kari's Story :: Part 5
Kari opened the door and moved to the room they all hung out in. Everyone was there and waiting, all relieved she hadn't been caught by the cops. They were referring to the time she went 'undercover'. She stole a piece of bread and got tossed into prison to kill the guy she needed to kill.
Everything was peaceful.... Too peaceful. She was surprised to see that Soren wasn't there though. Disappointed actually. She had wanted to see his smile once more, the terrifyingly and nice smile.
Though days later she was gladly surprised. It finally made sense why almost everyone wanted to make sure she was alright after her previous assignment. They wanted to make sure that Jonathan would be able to ask her out- she said yes. It seemed like a fun idea to go out with someone of the group.
She didn't notice one person's burning hatred as it was there for barely any time. But the next days went amazingly. It was peaceful, and she had grown even closer to everyone over the short time.... Everyone but her partner in crime who kept disappearing. She still missed talking to Soren though, he just went quiet on her. He talked to her less and less.... He didn't grin like he used to.
She couldn't do anything about it though.
But she was glad to hear she had an assignment with him! he was... highly enthusiastic too! it was great.
Things went normal. They killed who they needed to kill.
But, when they started heading back, Soren suggested Kari take a different route as he had a surprise waiting for her back there and needed to get everything set up.

Killer 'Croc', Kari's Story :: Final Part
She laughed and agreed, however when she came back- with food for everyone- she froze. Her former cheerful smile dropped. The food fell to the floor with a thud and Kari attempted to scream. Her mouth was covered before any sound could be made.
Blake and Emmy were curled up on the couch, Zoey bugging them. Christie and Callum were playing rock paper scissors. Jonathan was hanging on the ceiling. Blood dripped from all of their throats, the red substance covered them completely. They all had a dead look in their eyes, all dulled. Her boyfriend- her friends. They were dead.
All of them dead.
And Kari could not scream out her grief.
"Don't you like my present Kari?" A voice slyly whispered in her ear. Tears started crawling out of her eyes. "Oh look, tears of joy. You must love it~" it purred out.
She was forced to face the attacker. Soren stood in front of her, his golden spotted tail swinging back and forth as he shown his infamous smile to her. His infamous smile she used to love so dearly. "Originally, I was going to make it look like a murder. But I figured you would like a present more! A present from me~"
She ended up diving into his arms to cry. He cooed softly comforting her with awful phrases, saying how she loved his 'present.' He was so blind to her moving for his weapon. A weapon the had a snake on it- all of them did, being the former Snake Eyes that was. She took it out without him noticing.
"Kari, come on. Tell me how much you loved my present~ How much you love me~" So that was it had been about? He loved her? Her best friend loved her? So he... He killed all her friends....?
"Soren," Kari said softly looking up to him with teary eyes. He looked down at her with his infamous smile.
"Yes Kari?"
"I- I hate this present. And I- I HATE YOU!" She cried out moving the dagger to his heart and stabbing it inward. She killed her best friend. Her best friend in the entire world and she killed him. She said she hated him- she... she couldn't hate him?
She wanted to take it back. She wanted to take back her movement and agree that she did... but did she? She didn't.... no matter what her best friend did, it was unforgivable. She had to kill him. He was insane- but wasn't she? WASN'T SHE INSANE?
She killed for fun and this was what happened. All of her friends were dead.
And she killed the last one. Her last friend- her best friend.
And she had no regrets.
Other than the fact she should have seen it coming.
She couldn't kill anyone now. She wouldn't kill anyone now. It was wrong.
She was wrong.
Everything she did had been wrong.
But...But upon seeing his dead body collapse to the floor she started to cry again. She remembered his smile. His intimidating smile that was oh-so kind. She didn't want to forget him. Or any of them.
But... she couldn't take one of the daggers- it was something she couldn't do. She would if she could, but having it would signify her as the Killer Crocodile, a silly name for the alligator but her stage name nonetheless.
Now her Grinning Cat was gone though.
And the only way for her to remember him was... by grinning.
She wouldn't kill another person for as long as she could, but she would never stop smiling throughout that time.

Chapter one
C9.
That’s what they called her, for she didn’t have a real name, or if she did…she certainly didn’t remember it. She didn’t actually remember anything before the labs, actually by now C9 had just figured there wasn’t anything before the labs.
The labs…her cell was in between C8, and C10, though C9 hardly talked to them, she actually hardly spoke to anyone…Except the scientists, one in particular came to check on her quite often, he would ask her how she was feeling, mention how nice her black and red skin looked, and then have her do a few tests.
Then, he was on his way.
However, there was one day, where that wasn't the case.
He had come, looking quite frantic, muttering something about a frog and a spider, and how no one appreciated their usefulness. He had unlocked C9’s cell, let her out…and before the young hybrid could even begin to thank him, he had injected her with a syringe and she had fallen into unconsciousness.
This is of course, where the tale actually begins, so pay attention.
C9 watched the good doctor carefully as she sat down on his fluffy white couch, arms in her lap and messy blonde hair falling down to her hips. He was talking, though it was far too fast for her to keep up, and the twelve year old girl was struggling to pay attention.
“Do you understand that, C9?”
Shocked that he had addressed her, C9 jumped in her seat. “Oh…could you repeat it again please?” She asked with a hopeful smile and the older man rolled his eyes in annoyance as he walked over to her and knelt down in front of the couch, grabbing her shoulders and forcing her to look at him.
“I rescued you because you are of use to me, you are deadly, and no one else appreciates it. Sure the spider is on our side, but we already lost the frog, I am not loosing someone else. The others don’t understand, but I do, I know how precious you are-little monster,” he told her and the girl frowned.
“Monster?”
Doctor Bay, or Lenard as he was known to friends, nodded. “Yes, monster,” he sneered out the word. “You are not human, you are not normal, and you are a monster, a freak, a hybrid. But don’t worry, even though you’re hideous in every aspect, I am here to help you grow, to show the world exactly how dangerous one little monster can be,” he reassured and let go of her with no gentleness in his steps.
He stood up tall and sleeked his creamy brown hair back, looking over at C9 with a sullen look. “You belong to me, and I’m not going to risk sharing you with people who can’t appreciate you. I have to go now, but why don’t you get comfortable? You may sleep on the couch, do not go anywhere else but here and the bathroom, don’t look out the windows and never leave. You’re a freak, even for a hybrid you look hideous, we don’t want to give anyone a fright now, do we, little monster?” He asked sharply.
C9 instantly shook her head, not wanting to upset the scientist who had so graciously freed her from the labs. “No sir, I’ll be good,” she promised.
“Good, and when I get back…perhaps we can use my tools, see what your limits are, it’ll be fun, I promise,” Lenard informed, a sort of devious look in his eyes before he promptly walked out and locked the door behind him, leaving little C9 alone.
She paced and she waited for him to get home, occasionally looking over at the window before reminding herself that Doctor Bay hadn’t wanted her to go near the windows, and this was her first day of freedom, she didn't want to risk angering her new caretaker, and so…she did as she was told.
-
C9 waited for hours until finally, the doctor came back with a large bag full of what she could only assume were his tools. Maybe they were going to build something.
“Alright little monster, I’m back, follow me into the extra room, we can get started,” Lenard said and started down the hall without giving her much of a choice and quickly, the little blonde girl got to her feet and followed him back to an empty room with ugly floors and bland walls, there was no windows in it and mold was gathering in the corners of the rooms.
C9 looked over at him as he opened the bag and started to trifle through it. “What are we going to build?” She asked in curiosity, giving him a tilt of her head as some low chuckles came from the man.
“Build? You think we’re going to build something, little monster?”
C9 took a cautious step back, tail accidentally hitting the wall, she didn’t know him very well…but that laugh, it was eerie enough to send her a warning. “Well yes, you said we were going to use your tools…you build with tools,” she explained softly.
“Oh, no my little monster, we’re not building anything…see these tools are for taking things apart,” Lenard explained, walking over to her and before she even knew what was happening, he has sliced half of her tail clean off.
She let out a cry of pain, falling down to her knees as she looked at the tail in parts. “Why would you do that?” She asked, voice breaking as she looked up at him with tears breaming in the corners of her eyes.
Lenard smiled as he picked up the other part of the tail. “To see if it grows back,” he explained as if that answer was all she needed. “And if it does…then we shall see about those limbs,” he explained starting to the door. “Clean up this mess, there should be cleaning supplies in the closet, if you do as your told and stop crying, you may just get dinner,” he informed, walking out and closing the door behind him.
C9 stayed where she was, quiet sobs shaking her body as she heard the click of a lock and looked at the now blood stained floor, she was beginning to think that just maybe, she would have been safer in the labs.

Chapter two
A few years passed and things only got worse. Lenard would find new ways to study her, to see her capabilities, sometimes she would try to fight back and it always ended in pain for her, she was allowed to read, once Lenard had taught her though, otherwise she got bored and careless around the house, but other than that, she was not allowed to do anything.
Once she reached thirteen and the scientist was sure she was loyal to him, he had decided it was time she learned how to fight, after all, what was the point in having a dangerous hybrid, if she was useless in a fight?
He had found a private trainer, who was paid a high price to keep little C9 a secret as he trained her how to fight, and C9 got quite good in the next three years that she had been training, and then…once she was sixteen, before they were to go off to the trainer’s gym-with C9 being heavily disguised of course, he pulled her off to the side.
“Now, little monster-I’m sure you want to get out of our own little tests later today, right?” Lenard asked before they were able to leave the apartment and C9 quickly nodded her head, eyes twinkling at the thought. “Well, then I have another little job for you to do,” he explained and gestured for the heavily clothes and covered up girl to walk out the door, voice uncharacteristically sweet.
C9 looked up at him with curious green eyes. “What is it?” She asked warily, not trusting him for a second, she knew she couldn’t go against him…she would have no where else to go…she was a freak, a monster…she was a hideous monster and should just be grateful that Lenard found her useful, for no one else would even care for her. His words had been so far drilled into her head that she actually believed it by then.
Lenard smiled deviously and C9 got a bad feeling about it. “When we go to the gym today, CJ will tell you that your training is done and this will be your last time sparing with him, during this fight I want you to put your skin to use, find anything to use to your advantage…and then kill him.”
“Kill him?”
“Not so loud, little monster. We don’t want others to overhear, now do we?” Lenard asked sharply, glaring down at her with those disturbingly hard brown eyes of his and C9 gulped before shaking her head.
“No sir, sorry, I’ll be more quiet. Why do you want me to kill him?” She asked, looking down at the ground as they walked to the elevator.
“Because, he is no longer useful to us, my little monster, and this is the perfect chance to see how you can use this to your advantage, he doesn’t know about the skin thing, he doesn’t know what you can do, so make sure to cut him before the fight, understood?” He asked.
C9 felt awful, she couldn’t kill someone, but…she had too, she didn’t want to imagine what Lenard would do to her if she didn’t do as she was told, and so all she could do was nod along. “I understand sir, and I won’t let you down,” she promised, a sinking feeling in her gut as she risked a glance up at him to see the scientist grinning madly.
“Perfect.”
-
“Alright Mon, you ready?”
C9 looked over at her opponent, a tall, buff man with pitch black hair and daring brown eyes. He had been teaching her how to fight for three years…even gave her a nickname after she explained that she didn’t have a name, she was just C9…a little monster, and now…now she had to kill him. The one other person who knew who she was and he had kept her secret for three years, he had been good…he had been a friend…almost, and now-now it had to end.
She shook her head to clear it from those thoughts and nodded to him. “I’m ready whenever you are,” C9 said with a small smirk on her face as she got into the fighting mode, glad to be rid of all those layers, as now she was just in a green tank top, some dark blue pants, and her hair up in a ponytail.
CJ nodded and gave her the go to start, and instantly C9 charged at him on light feet.
She jumped off the ground and slammed her foot into his side, which made him topple over, giving her enough time to pull out the smaller knife Lenard had given her and slash his arm while he got back to his feet, and she quickly hit the knife again. With any luck, he wouldn’t register that she had cut him until it was too late.
CJ grinned and charged at her, swinging his fist at her and C9 quickly grabbed his arm after dodging the attack, making sure to hold onto his injury for a few good seconds before he knocked her down and she fell on her back with an oomph.
He seemed all to happy about this and C9 had to quickly get back to her feet. Now it was time to distract, and so she swept her leg under his legs, though he dodged that and instead caught her leg in his hands and pushed her back.
C9 stumbled back, falling down to her back and as he came back at her, she rolled out of the way and charged at him, jumping into the air and pushing him down as she flipped over and landed behind him on shaky feet.
He was beginning to get up when suddenly, he paused and winced in pain.
C9 glanced over at Lenard, who was watching by the door with a grin, the affects were starting to take, and she sent him a questioning look, which he only returned with a nod, and so C9’s gaze hardened and she looked back over at her old instructor, jumping at him and kicking him in the neck, which was sure to knock the wind out of him and he once again fell down, gasping for breath and clearly in pain.
C9 walked slowly over to him and stepped on his chest to keep him down, she quickly pulled out the knife again and leaned down, looking at him with a cold gaze, for if she let her emotions show, she might not be able to go through with this.
“Sorry CJ…” She whispered to him quietly, and before he had the chance to understand what was happening, she had stabbed him in the neck, it wasn’t long before his throat filled with blood, which he chocked on and died.
Once it was all done and taken care of, she looked over at Lenard. “What about the body?” She asked as he walked over.
“Don’t worry about that, my little monster,” he said the words proudly, clearly very much excited about the turn of events. “We’ll leave it for someone else to find, and don’t worry about finger prints…you have newt skin, and no one would think that a newt killed him. You, my little monster, are a perfect little weapon,” he told her.
The frog or spider would have been better…He mentioned them often, said they would have been far better than her, but he couldn’t get his hands on the other two, so she was third best, and third place had just killed someone.
C9 stayed quiet as Lenard draped her coat over her shoulders. “Now, let’s go home, I’ll even let you take a book with you into your room tonight,” he told her and the girl simply nodded along, following him without saying a word.
She had killed someone…Lenard was right…he was always right, she was nothing but a monster.

Chapter three
A few days passed and C9 was trying her hardest to forget about CJ and how she had killed him. Lenard was at work, she was in the front room with a book full of names in her hands. “Alice…no…Abigail…no, maybe…Astra? No…It’s kind of a weird name,” Amari muttered out loud, what exactly was she doing? The same thing she did every day since CJ had died.
She was looking at names.
CJ had told her that you aren’t really a person unless you had a name, and so she was trying to pick out a name for herself. So far she was leaning towards a name that started with the letter A. She wasn’t sure though…if Lenard would allow her to have a name. After all, she was supposed to just be C9…the little monster.
Were monsters allowed to have names?
C9 wasn’t sure, but she wanted one…and maybe she didn’t have to even tell Lenard. Who said he had to know anyways? So with that she went back to browsing the A names. “Axel? I’m pretty sure that’s a boy’s name..same with Amos and Alistair…hmm…Anne? No. Abrial? No that’s weird too. Maybe Agatha, or Ariana, or Astrid…no, none of those fit…” She told herself and flipped the page.
A name instantly caught her attention.
“Amari…”
She tested it out, getting the feel for it as she said it again. “Amari…it’s nice, it sounds like a name for a monster…I could be an Amari…” C9 mused thoughtfully, and just like that her mind was made.
She definitely liked the sound of that, and slammed the book shut, having no other need for it now. She had a name now, and it sounded amazing.
Just then, the door opened and Lenard walked in, looking particularly sour and Amari instantly shied away from him, she had been wary of him ever since he had her kill CJ. What would happen when she was no longer useful? Would he kill her?
She had seriously considering running for it, however something always held her back. For one, she had nowhere to go, two, she was a hideous monster, no one else would want her…and three…Lenard was the closest person she had to a father, she couldn’t just leave him…no matter how awful he was.
“Little monster, get away from the window, you know the rules,” Lenard snapped, and it was clear to her that he was in a bad mood, seeing as she wasn’t even close to the window. However she moved all the same. “And what did I say about that name book?” He added.
C9 picked the book up again and held it close to her. “You didn’t say anything about it sir…speaking of the book, I chose a name for myself,” she added carefully, hoping he would take it well, she deserved to have a name as much as anyone else.
However he did not take it well and instantly swerved to face her. “A name?…No, little monster, freaks like you don’t get names, you are not to use it. You don’t have a name, you are simply C9, the monster, don’t forget that,” he snapped.
Usually she was a bit more tolerant of his bad attitudes…but today, after all of that…and him flat out telling her no to her name…she couldn’t let it go. “No.”
He raised his brow, reaching for his concealed weapon to remind her who was the boss here. “No? You don’t get a say, little monster. You can’t say no to me, I would think by now, you would now that girl,” he sneered at her and started to walk over to her, which made her take a step back.
“No,” C9 repeated. “I-I have as much of a right to a name as you do, and I’m not…I’m not just some monster…I’m a person, a person with a name,” she told him fiercely, holding the book to her chest as she sent him a glare, having just about enough of him.
Lenard looked mad.
He usually looked upset, but this was different, he looked angry and he shook his head as he got closer to her, knife in one hand and grabbing her chin with the other. “You’re not a person, C9. You’re a hybrid, and hybrids are not people, no matter how much they wish they were. You, are nothing but a sad little monster, a freak show, a weapon. Remember your place, little monster.” With that he struck her face with the knife.
However, instead of just taking it like she usually would, C9 blocked with the book and shoved him away, knife still stick in the book full of names.
Lenard fell to the floor and they both stood in shock for a few seconds before he got up. “Did you just shove me?” He questioned darkly, in a far colder voice than C9 had ever heard before and she was hesitant to answer.
“Y-yes…you were going to hit me again, I didn’t want to be hit,” she explained tentatively, looking him over carefully to see how he would respond.
Lenard glared at her and finally pulled out the concealed gun he had always had with him, but never had had to use. “You’re gonna be a lot more than hit if you keep this up, little monster-come here and learn some respect. Now,” he ordered fiercely.
C9 didn’t move.
“Now. Little monster. Now.”
She shook her head. “No,” she told him, voice shaky and then, getting a surge of bravery, she charged at him, knocking the gun out of his hand. “I’ve had enough! You hurt me, you treat me awful, and you-you-“ she struggled to find the words, until it sort of all clicked together and she realized something very important.
She didn’t need to be afraid of him.
He should be afraid of her.
She was the monster after all…
“You made a mistake,” C9 said and looked at him cooly. “You taught a monster how to fight and didn’t think for a second, that she wouldn’t turn on you,” she told him and saw a flash of fear cross over the scientist’s eyes.
Good. He should be afraid.
She sent a swift kick to his side, making him fall down onto the couch, and then C9 wasted no time tearing the knife out of the book and running at him, slashing him across the face with it, and then she covered his face with her hands.
Lenard struggled, but it was useless against her, and once she was sure her poison had gotten into him, she took a step back and watched as it took affect. The man withered and shook from the pain and after taking it in for a good minute or so, C9 got to work.
The girl grabbed a bag from Lenard’s room, filling it up with essentials and the name book, she grabbed some of his “tool” and shoved them in as well, and only when she was sure she was prepared, she started to the door.
“Where will you go?” Lenard called out from the couch, voice strained from the pain. “You’re a freak, an ugly monster, everyone out there will see it. You’ll be killed in a matter of minutes,” he spat at her. “You leave and you’ll be treated far worse out there than you ever were in here,” he told her darkly.
C9 lingered by the door for a few seconds before she looked back at him with a cold smile. “Maybe, but I’m willing to take that chance. You should be glad I spared your life,” she told him in an equally dark voice as she opened the door. “I may be nothing but a little monster, but this monster has a name,” she told him, about to head out the door.
“Oh really? And what name is that?”
She paused, taking a few seconds to try and contain her smile, standing in the doorway about to shut the door when she finally answered.
“Amari.”
She was looking at names.
CJ had told her that you aren’t really a person unless you had a name, and so she was trying to pick out a name for herself. So far she was leaning towards a name that started with the letter A.
“Amari.”
The Spider Child: By Creamcrow
A young girl- and she was very young, around three years old at the time- was simply
playing. Her mother and father were busy- leaving her to play by herself. She didn't mind, it happened a lot. Her father didn't have work that day, her mother recently lost her job. It was sad yes, but very difficult to live considering they had a toddler for a
Child.
She had no idea though, the world still seemed very fun. However, she as she continued to play, she grew bored. It was rare for her to grow bored- she always had a great patience. She got up from where she was and started to wander her room- it was simple
and small.
As she wandered, she managed to find a spider's web. She had never seen one before, and curiosity got the better of her. She placed a finger in it and started to swirl it around, no problems. After wrapping up the web in her fingers she went out to show her parents.
They told her to go and play, neither actually bothering to look. The small girl figured it was harmless then. She was slightly upset neither of her parents seemed to care- but the spider webs would keep her busy.
She started to wander the house, only finding a few of the cotton webs. She had no idea they were homes to spiders- she barely even know what a spider was. After exploring the house with no luck, she slyly opened the back door. She had figured it out by watching her parents- she grabbed a stool and opened the door.
Entering the backyard she began to search for more webs- and she found an old bucket full of them! She stuck her hand in to gather the webs only to feel a sharp sting on her hand. Tearing up she ran inside to tell her parents-
They freaked out. After realizing she had been playing in spider webs the quickly figured out she was bitten by a spider. They knew they had a spider problem they had found multiple venomous spiders around the backyard- one of the reasons they stopped going back there.
They shoved her in her room and began to talk- they had no idea she was carefully listening. "We should just leave her be. It'll be easier for us-" "But, how will we explain it? We'd look bad if our child died and we didn't tell anyone or get help." "It's easy, we claim she didn't tell us she was bitten at all. She won't be here to say differently. And with her gone, we can start to save more money- it's easy enough to get another child when we can provide food and shelter to them." The mother sighed in agreement. It had been decided.
The young girl was frightened. What had happened in which she would die- was it the sudden pain from earlier? Were her parents just going to let her die?
Barely minutes passed before the young girl fainted- unable to hear people entering the house. Her mother screamed somewhat alerting the young girl, and her father made no noise. A strange man entered the home with a young boy beside his side. He had multiple vials and a disgusted look on his face as he examined the ill girl. He was about to leave when the child with him tugged on his coat. "Save her. Please."
With a roll of the eyes he nodded- he brought a case with him, as he did to every house. The child always carried it as if it was his life force. He placed it on a table near the sickened girl and grabbed out a vial- a spider vial. He had to hope that it was the correct type of spider in order to save the girl's life.
The heavy breathing lightened, and the man picked up the girl. She barely managed to open her eyes as they left- the sight that stood out was her parents. The weren't alive anymore, she could tell because of the red.
She couldn't move properly though, she tried to shift only for four extra arms to brush her. She couldn't see very well anymore either, she had a feeling about that. Though before she could question it, she fell back to sleep.
--
Blinking her eyes open, she could barely tell she was in a cage. It was large enough to move around- however at first she freaked out feeling four extra limbs protruding from her back. She turned her head in fear only to see four legs- spider legs. At least, she assumed so. How was she still alive?
Seeing a scientist she started to talk- only to pause as she realized fangs were in her mouth. He glanced to the frightened girl. With a smile he grew closer and she backed away.
"N-no! L-leaf me....A-al-alone." She attempted to say backing away. Her eyes blinked in fear- her eyes were now a black color, rather than the amber brown they used to be. She felt something unnatural- she had two more beady eyes.
"Shh, it's okay little doll. You are safe now- you aren't hurt anymore." he said with a hushed voice. He almost looked sympathetic.
"W-Whewe iz mommy an' daddy?" the small girl asked. He shook his head sadly. "They left you to die, we saved you. You belong with us now- we won't leave you to die like they did."
"Do-do you pwomise?" she asked blinking her now hopeful eyes. She knew the man was telling the truth about her parents leaving her to die- she had heard it with her own ears. Though in reality he had no idea about that, and was trying to find a way for the girl to trust him.
He nodded smiling. She seemed to be an almost perfect experiment- her vision was the only thing to worry about. Along with it was obvious she wasn't naturally human. And thus, he had someone make a pair of glasses for her in the future. Though the girl spoke again. "What did you do to me?"
He was startled that she had the question with no visible fear or betrayal- nothing in which many of the previous children had looked upon the scientists with. "We made you better- stronger and faster than a normal human. You will be smarter than one too one day,"
She looked up with a smile- it was unlike all her smiles in the past. It was gruesome, one of a blood thirsty killer. Neither of them noticed. "Weally? I'm goin to be like a zupehewo?" She clapped her hands together happily. "I'm going to be the best out there! Pwomise I am alwayz going to be loyalz to you!"
--
She forgot her promise. The moment her ally turned against everything she ever knew- she forgot her promise. Vengeance was on her mind. It was only as she started to be unconscious she realized her mistake. She shouldn't have let the hybrids escape when the bird pulled the lever. She should have killed him before that happened. Now look where she was.
Almost dead.
She had forgotten her promise to the one loyal family she had always known- they gave her special treatment in the first few years, yes. The boy became like a brother, he tried his best to visit whenever he could. When she accepted to hunt down the hybrids, she made sure she would work for him specifically.
That washed away so quickly, her life working for them. Her entire life- she still remembered her original parents names. She never forgot, but she hated the names so much. All her years in the lab, when allowed to take a name she chose Buibui. She found
out it meant spider and chose it.
Though it would never wash away her real name- the true name she was given at birth wouldn't allow itself to be washed from her mind. She smiled as she died, reliving her life. Finding her mistakes. Oh, why didn't she see sooner that the birdbrain was right? Why had she not seen through the one lie that made her trust the people? The one thing they couldn't have known. That should have helped her figure it all out.
But she had been so stupid. She continued to smile- it was not the sick, twisted grin she used to wear all the time. It was the one smile she only ever truly shared with her blood family. And finally she could see them again, and re-make friends with her parents.
For once, she could be genuinely happy again.
"Kira. My name is Kira."

"Kira. My name is Kira."
Driving Lessons: By S'more
Have you ever wondered why Norman doesn't drive?
The Help of a Viking: By S'more
"I fooled you."
Patrick looked at Norman, temporarily paralyzed thanks to that shot his son had given him only moments before. He could only glare at the son with hair matching of his. "Don't sound so pleased with yourself. This just proves you're just as horrible as that dreaded mother of yours," he spat at him.
Norman sent him a glare of his own. "Oh, mom's the awful one? That's rich coming from you, you b------, mom never abandoned her child to a lab that she knew was practically going to torture the two year old for years, just so she could make a couple bucks. Did she?" He countered.
The two had a small staring contest, blue eyes: cold like ice and twice as deadly, meeting dark green, before Patrick continued, voice laced with disgust as he began to talk about his ex wife.
"No, but she did torture other hybrids, she killed people, messed with people, played with their minds, she didn't even have to lay a precious little finger on someone to ruin them. I might not have been a good father, but she's a bad person," Patrick told him, voice sharp as it cut through the ice cold air without any sort of sympathy as he spoke of her.
Norman's glare hardened. "I'm not saying she was an angel. She's still far from one. But you...you subjected a child, your own child, to the labs just because they wanted one of mom's kids and you wanted money. How is that not horrible? You're a bad father and a bad person, at least mom got one thing right, and that's that she's a better parent than you," he told him, quickly beginning to feel emotional.
Patrick watched him wipe his black sleeve to his face, clearing it of any tears that had begun, then, he scoffed. "You're so weak. Crying just because of something that happened how many years ago? Thirteen. Get over it son. Or whatever you are, cause you're a pretty sorry excuse for a son, even a kid in general," he told him and Norman looked away.
He sniffed and wiped at his eyes again, trying his best to ignore Patrick as he laid there, insulting him as if he had any right. "You're pathetic." That was the last straw for Norman, as he swiftly turned back to face Patrick, eyes wet but an outright furious glare on his face as he lifted his gun up and pointed it at him.
"You left me! On purpose! Knowing what they were going to do, what they were going to turn me into! For my entire life, I was told I was abandoned, that my own family didn't want me. Because I was weak or small, or that something was wrong with me. They told me they took pity on me, that they could at least find a use for me. They told me my own brothers didn't want me, that I was nothing but a responsibly to be dropped on them and that if they could, they'd have abandoned me too!" He was getting emotional again, but he didn't care. "Do you know what that felt like? Do you know how every time they said that, the more I began to believe it was true? Do you know how hurt I was every time I was ignored even just a little, because of that? Do you know how completely and utterly scarred I am, because of that?" Norman shouted at him, gun shaking in his hand.
Patrick looked him over. "You ain't scarred kid. Not from the lab. They never laid a finger on you beyond turning you into a hybrid. We made a deal on that," he said and rolled his eyes. "Quit being such a baby."
"Physical wounds aren't the only ones that leave scars," Norman spat at him, kneeling down to be at eye level with the man, who was pressed up against the front of his desk for support. "It's not called being a baby, it's called being a traumatized person," he said, voice barely above a whisper by then. "And it's all because of what you did to me."
Patrick looked him over skeptically. "So what, you planning on killing me for what I did to you?" He asked and Norman gave a small, shaky nod of confirmation. He laughed. "Please kid, you don't have it in you. You're this family's 'help,' our precious little 'hero.' Frankly I just call it weakness. But face it Ezra, you'll never have it in you to kill someone, even me," Patrick told him, a look in his eyes suggesting he fully believed what he was saying.
Norman stood up and started to walk away, looking away from Patrick. At first it looked like he was just going to walk out, but then he stopped only a foot away from Patrick, and, he chuckled. "You know, Ezra might mean help. But Norman, well that means northman, which is another name for Viking. I don't recall the Vikings being known for their compassion or mercy," Norman paused to look back to Patrick, gun raised and finger beginning to press down on the trigger.
"Do you?"
Just as he said that, and Patrick realized what was happening, a bullet shot from the gun, flying across the room as it hit its target exactly. Patrick didn't even have time to scream before the bullet ran through his head, killing him almost instantly.
The body didn't move, already being paralyzed before. However there was definite silence that sunk into the air, hinting to even the most naive of people that someone had died. The only sound being Norman's breathing as he stared down at the floor of the office, heart pounding in his chest as the realization of what he had just done washed over him like tidal waves in a storm.
He had just shot his father. He had just killed someone.
He was a killer.
