"Oh. My mentor was, and is, the worst cat in the history of this earth." Royalfire growled, angrily. (Want to skip to the border [page] now?) Sure

Pinepaw listened as his mentor spoke, a bit surprised at the words. "I guess it makes sense. I don't want to manipulate my clanmates, but I guess if they turn on the clan I won't have a choice." He agreed. "And if I can get out of a fight with the least injuries that would be the best." He unsheathed his claws, preparing for Thornstep to attack again since he said they should train like they fight. "Hold up, there." Thornstep growled. "First, I want to teach you what technique you should use on each type of cat..." He said, as each kind of cat should be approached differently in a fight.

Pinepaw nodded and sheathed his claws, but he didn't let his guard down. The multi-colored tom let his ears perk so he would catch every word, not wanting to miss an important piece of information nor a clue that his mentor was about to attack.

"Now, there are many type of cats. There are the kind of cats who rush into battle, no questions. They are the cats that you need to trick. Then the cats who really are smart. Those are the kind of cats that I'll teach you... to take care of."

Amberstar decided to find a pool near camp to wash the dust from her fur, as she didn't like the taste of mushrooms. As she exited camp, found a pool, and washed herself, a plan formed in her mind, to find the culprit, as she had guessed any apprentice with half a brain would lie straight to her face. "Isn't it obvious? The insolent pre-warriors would know they did wrong. They would know what the meeting was for... if they don't own up to it..." She stopped to wash her face. "Not owning up to it is worse than admitting it. If no one steps forward, there will be no new warriors next moon." Another thought formed in her mind. "If I punish all of them, maybe one will snitch on the pranker, and the snitcher be guaranteed an early warrior ceremony... a reward for telling the truth and being loyal, something the clan needs... especially for the apprentices... why else would they want to do anything...?"
(Reading this over, she might be a psychopath...)

Pinepaw nodded, listening as his mentor spoke, waiting for instructions on how to handle these types of cats. Thornstep growled again, thinking of how to introduce the subject to Pinepaw. "Alright. Say Emberclan got into a battle with Asterclan... and you began fighting. A big, muscly tom runs up to you and starts blindly fighting." He said, illistrating the scenario. "Obviosly, pretend to be weaker than you really are. But, what most cats don't realise, is that when that happens, the other warrior will only fight harder. You have to confuse him. Act weak, then through powerfull moves, then act weak, and continue this without wasteing much energy. Then... they will be tired, but you, you will still be able to attack, and, if necessary, kill him."

Pinepaw listened. It made sense. "Can we try?" He asked. He learned better through doing rather than listening. He crouched down, preparing for a fight, claws unsheathed.

I'll be the big, stupid, ugly Asterclan cat," Thornstep said, walking away a bit, then suddenly turning around and running towards Pinepaw. He puffed out his fur, and took a few powerfull swipes at Pinepaw.

Pinepaw jumped out of the way of the strikes, keeping his body toward the ground and ears flattened as though he were a jumpy little apprentice. Then he darted forward and swiped at Thornstep's muzzle before jumping back and lowering himself toward the floor again, acting timid and weak.

Pinepaw felt claws prick his back and draw a tiny bit of blood and he turned aroud in time to see Thornstep aim a blow for his ear. The multi-colored tom flattened his ears so they would be harder to get at as he ducked and made his way swiftly under Thornstep. He rolled onto his back before swiping at the tom's exposed underbelly before rolling out from under him and swiping at his mentor's flank.

Stagpaw couldn't find anyone to hunt with, so she went to the training place to see if any apprentices were there, as she knew that she was very popular among the apprentices. She saw Pinepaw and Thornstep fighting. Now, she certianly liked Pinepaw, him being the good natured cat he was, but Thornstep was almost as scary as Ghostfang. Almost. She then stepped into the clearing to watch, until Thornstep noticed. Her. "WHAT?" He yelled at her. "No, no, continue, don't mind me, I'm just gonna watch..." Stagpaw defended herself, making calming motions with her paw. She looked over at Pinepaw. "Hullo, Pinepaw! What's up?"

Pinepaw sheathed his claws, not wanting Stagpaw to notice anything odd, but as he continued to land another attack, the thrill wasn't there anymore. Mock battles were so... Boring! "Hey, Stagpaw, just training." He told the she-cat, trying to concentrate on combat training.

Thornstep thought for a moment. "Where is your mentor, Stagpaw? He asked. "I dunno. I also don't care." "Well, then you and Pinepaw can do a mock battle."

Pinepaw stopped and looked up at Thornstep. He wanted Stagpaw to leave so they could finish their real battle, though the thought left his stomach churning. It didn't exactly feel right to want his clanmate gone, but the thrill was lost without tooth and claw. By now the bleeding on his back would have stopped and he could just say he fell into a path of brambles on the way here if need be.

"Stagpaw... is it okay to have claws out in this battle?" "Yah, sure, since Pinepaw won't come close to getting near me!" She said competitively. She eyed Pinepaw, trying to see his technique. She began to circle him, making sure that her stomach was guarded.

Pinepaw unsheathed his claws, thankful that his mentor stepped in, the thrill of adrenaline pumping into him as anticipation set in. His technique was normally to circle and dart in, but seeing as Stagpaw was circling and waiting for him to attack, he would use a different strategy. He would go in for a fake attack. Make it look like he was aiming for his was, but then he'd throw his weight on his hind awe and attack her flank. If he needed to, he could roll out of the way of an attack and do a back kick if she picked out his movements. The tom darted forward, keeping his body close to the ground, aiming for her paws before pushing his weight to his hind paws and swiping out at her flank, getting ready to fall to his back and roll away in a dog if necessary.

Stagpaw decided to use her wits for this one. She saw the tom calculating, and figured he would fake an attack. She jumped at high as she could into the air, then landed in a ready stance. "You're going to have to try harder than that to get me of guard."

Pinepaw fell onto his back and rolled a small distance and springing up and landing a hard kick in her flank as she landed. He spun around and leapt at her, landing behind her. He bit down hard on her tail before swiping at her haunches and jumping back.

Stagpaw whirled around, and, with her long and agile body, was able to flip around in midair and scratch along his face with her long claws out. She landed right beside him, and shoved him over, landing on his stomach, and raking it, before bounding away, and facing him, watching him until he was ready, that way she could predict his next move.

"Why don't you get some of your own moves?" Pinepaw spat. Blood soaked his soft belly fur and his face stung where he'd been clawed. He saw very little effect of the wounds he'd caused her so far; she'd not been confused when he jumped behind her rather than on her, not blindly angry when he'd bitten her tail, she barely seemed to noticed his claws on her haunches. He could practically feel Thornstep's disappointment. He leaped forward, ignoring the searing pain in his stomach and landed on her back. He dug his claws in and bit down on her ear, she wouldn't be able to hold his weight for long and this was sure to get her fur in a knot.
(Remember, Pinepaw has a moon's worth more of training than Stagpaw and he has a higher fighting skill than her while she has a higher hunting skill than him. Just keep that in mind)

(Yah, sorry! She just is very smart and very cocky.) Stagpaw screeched, and fell down, but rolled over before Pinepaw was on top of her. She stood up, and looked over at him. "Wow, you are good at combat! I myself am better at hunting and... other activities," she said slyly, not wanting to blow her pranking cover, "Than combat."

"Yeah, but you did.." He broke off and dashed forward, under Stagpaw and pushed up hard, throwing her onto the ground. "..give me quite the wound." Pinepaw finished. He padded over to Thornstep and sat down next to his mentor, letting exhaustion take over him, realizing part of why he didn't get many blows in was this headache, probably from blood loss. "How do I explain this to Hollysong?" He muttered more to himself than the others. "Good thing you aren't getting your warrior name based on sleep, I was up before you even left your nest!" He laughed.

"Hahaha. Nice, at the end, there, Pinepaw! Quite dramatic!" Stagpaw said, excitedly. "Good. job, Pinepaw. You need work, but, in the end, you did win. You did a good job taking her out." Thornstep said, sounding proud. "You did an okay job, Stagpaw, but he is both older, more experienced, and stronger.

Ghostfang quietly stepped into the camp. Several warriors glanced at her, but looked away when they saw that it was her. She was known as quiet, and therefor, creepy, as all but 5 cats had never heard her say anything other than 5 words. She liked it that way. She walked over to Amberstar, a quiestion in mind, but then stopped, taking a moment to form her words, then continued walking. She stepped beside Amberstar, and said, "What are you going to do to the apprentice?"
