Welcome, The Green Writer! Like Mint said, we hold the same beliefs when it comes to the gods and afterlife, although I'm not exactly a pagan in the sense that I don't practice it, nor do I practice witchcraft either even though I believe in it. As far as belief systems go, I'm part of the Catholic church, though I've been thinking of leaving since I never really felt all that close to Catholicism anyway with the exception of the Biblical tales (my favorite has always been the Book of Esther). In fact, I've always felt alot closer to the Greek gods out of any other pantheon, but especially Persephone.

Yep! Actually went to go visit a pagan shop earlier, literally right down the street from where I live. They were the sweetest people ever. Got garnet and a clear quartz as well as a book on runes. Any info on either of those? I was planning on using them for dream recall

Yeah, ive also stated my beliefs several times in detail. (Maybe I'll get a FAQ up... eventually...)
Let me just say though that I'm personally not a "do anything you want!!" person. Even if you are eclectic in your path like I am a lot of things do already have years worth of tradition behind them that is best not to be ignored. You can't for example go around claiming to be a pagan or witch just because its a quirky persona and you read your daily horoscope off some website or something. Its a dedication to learning that makes it what it is.
Not to mention I hold myself to a personal code of honor that I abide by. Though it isnt for everyone its there to remind me to keep myself in check so I dont fall off the path that I feel I was destined to have or go down darker roads.
I definitely believe in karma, and not the kind of what comes around goes around, but actual karma. That my life will get exponentially harder and more unlucky the more I attempt to control or fight where I get to. Its better to trust my instincts and let certain things take their course. I also believe in balance. Balance of chakras, balance of elements, balance of energy, balance of yin-yang aspects etc. Especially balance between physical and metaphysical realities. Getting too absorbed in the spiritual is not only generally bad for your health, it can be dangerous, especially for someone like me who has mental health issues that cause me to dissociate or hallucinate.

And I'm not that good with stones. Try Rescue. I'm the herb person, whoops.

Okay, thanks for explaining I Am In Your Walls, that helps. I know I believe in fate, in the spiritual world. That spirits exist, good, bad, indifferent. I believe in magic to be real and dangerous unless you know what you are doing or are under the guidance of someone who knows what they are doing. Everyone has good and bad in them, just as the Native American myth goes, two wolves inside every man; the one that is in charge is the one you feed. And on that note, I believe in souls, that souls are energy, are you and are not you at the same time. That they are as vital to your existence as your heart and lungs, however man can live without them, and become the worst version of themselves. Definitely agree with you with karma. It exists and you need to be balanced otherwise too many things can go sour.

Personally, I'm a naturalistic pagan (though haven't been for long), which is actually pretty similar to atheism and agnosticism (and that's why I was drawn to it, since I was an atheist raised by agnostics). I only firmly believe in what can be proven through science, and while I have ideas about the rest, they're just that - ideas, and not things I know to be 100% true or that I fully understand. I feel there has to be something due to experiences I've had and my time practicing tarot, and being able to sort of... feel energy, whether it's from people, my cards or stones and crystals. I don't worship any gods or otherworldly figures, or actively believe in them. I do believe in (though again, my opinions aren't set in stone here) energy, and that things like witchcraft and tarot are ways to harness or attract that energy. I do respect everyone else's views though and always have.
The reason I consider myself a naturalistic pagan instead of just an agnostic atheist (which is what I was for years) is that I feel a strong connection to these "energies" and the natural world, and so my practice includes being closer to nature, more connected with the world around me and taking the time to appreciate it. I celebrate all of the pagan holidays and several holidays I was raised with like Christmas and Easter, but with any sort of worship taken out of it. It's a way for me to tie my beliefs relating to my tarot and crystals and sigils into my daily life and the way I view the world.

I love that wolf euphemism for it. A lot of people will go denying their dark-selves completely though and I dont. I feel like its wrong to reject a whole part of yourself or another person like that. And honestly theres still so much that is a gray area in the world sometimes going a little bad wolf is necessary for a situation or even to just put your needs first. You feed both and accept people are flawed.

You feed both and accept people are flawed. Exactly! It makes more sense to accept yourself and know who you are then to reject a part of who you are. That's what turned me off about Christianity. It's a black and white society that believes you have to reject and transform who you are entirely into all good. Not saying that all Christians are bad or anything, but that part of their beliefs makes no sense to me at all

So, no info on garnet or quartz? lol sure quartz is the generic (and I use that word loosely) stone of energy. It's the bread and butter of any stone set, and can be used in a variety of different situations for different purposes. It's great for both channeling and grounding and I personally like to keep mine around me whatever the occasion. I personally use my garnet stone for dream clarity? I actually found mine (most of my stones I find, I don't like cut gemstones) so it's raw and actually embedded in an oval metamorphic something (smaller grained than granite, completely blanking on the name rn). I don't use it much because I usually have an overactive third eye as is but if I've been having a bad day it's a nice thing to keep around. Though I doubt that's the official use for it or anything so that's something to research.

I'm a yoga/meditation/chakra and elemental energies person. Though I also ascribe to a lot of the ideas from the Greek and Roman pantheon and am pretty knowledgeable about those as well. As for my deities I usually feel closest with Dionysus (god of theatre, celebration and wine) and Diana/Artemis (goddess of the hunt)

I mean??? Do you feel pagan? Congrats, ur a pagan. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess you could go about finding a real teacher or coven like I am currently or to better determine what kind of pagan you are but most solitary pagans are just eclectic, taking bits from this and that and finding their own way. There are catholic pagan/witches though? But im not entirely sure what classifies them as that specifically. All i know is they usually work with spirits that would be classified as angels or "good" god/desses and saints.

And yeah, I know Catholic witches exist, but since I don't feel close to my current religion besides just liking the Biblical stories and being intrigued by some saints (like Joan of Arc), so I'm thinking of just leaving it. Unless I can still be part of the Church while also doing things related to paganism (I mean, I already bought a box of tarot cards, I just haven't used it yet). These are the questions that keep me up at night.

I know... next to nothing about Catholicism. Christianity in general im knowledgeable about but my mom was pretty vehement that catholics were all going to hell because the church was corrupt by satan bc they borrowed a lot of paganistic ideas. so. i never learned about it and havent bothered to because christianity in general isnt for me at all. (But i know they arent corrupt and evil, lol.)

As someone who grew up in a Catholic family I am quite well versed in the religion, lol. I've never noticed many of the pagan elements? Though I guess altars are pretty big for them, and the holidays they celebrate seem to fall around the same time as some pagan festivals (like the solstices for example)

But anyway, if I were to leave the Catholic church, I would apparently have to make it formal first.
