Arabella's expression went from furious to sad in a few moments. "I've been through enough as it is, and now to wake up like this and find nearly half my face permanently scarred...I might as well be dead. I already look like a corpse without the eye." She held her face in her hands, being mindful of the tender spots around where her eye used to be. "I don't want to have to wake up each morning and stare at a hole where my eye was." She said in a quiet voice, one that sounded like she was on the verge of tears because she was. |

Lance finds himself climbing into her cot and wrapped his arms around her. He didn't really know what to say to comfort her. Lance had been grateful that she was alive but hearing her speak broke his heart. "We can figure something out." He said in a soft voice.

If Arabella were to cry, it made her wonder, would tears still come from her missing eye? But she didn't want to find out, the thought terrified her. She was surprised though when Lance put his arms around her, she picked her head up and looked over at Lance next to her. "Like what? Get me a new eye, no, we'll go dive into the ocean to find the small pile of blood and tissue of what used to be my eye right?" She asked with a small shake of her head before closing her eye briefly. "I'm sorry, that was rude, I just...I don't know what I'm going to do. If there's anything I can do that is. I-I know that why I lost it was for a good reason, but it hurts all the same." She figured he knew that she meant it hurt internally rather than externally. She felt nothing where her eye was, not unless she touched it. A sudden thought came to mind though as she sat here with Lance. Her face turned pale, "You didn't read the letter did you?" She asked, hoping he didnt. |

With the help of my TIs of course." TIs were the men that trained you in the military while you were in the six to eight week basic training course. After that, you start learning more about your job specifically, and then - after about a year or so - you make rank. Thomas could only hope that basic training wasn't going to be as hellish as the old Navy veterans make it seem, or his family members who were still in the Navy. Perhaps it was almost a family tradition then that one child from each family went into the Navy. His family anyway, he wasn't sure about anyone else's. It was just a coincidence that only one son ended up enlisting in the Navy per generation and family. Wow okay sorry I took so long to reply lol "Still sounds fun to me," said Autumn wistfully. "I wish I got to do stuff that exciting. The most interesting thing I'm allowed to do is sing, and then only to perform, which I don't like doing. My father always chooses some song with a political message that I either disagree with or don't understand in it." She gazed out over the blue-grey waves and hummed an eerie pirate shanty, reciting the verses in her mind: The king and his men stole the queen from her bed

Thomas didn't really know when Autumn stood when it came to politics, but wasn't about to get into it. Thomas's mother didn't appreciate him getting into politics. Mainly because when it came to politics, they either got you friends or enemies. Even within families. When she hummed a sea chants though he sat up and rested his head on his hand as he looked at her thoughtfully. She was quite pretty he had to admit but a but hot headed. "A pirate chanty? I was never allowed to sing those in my house." He said in an amused tone |

It was at this that Arabella really had to hold back tears. She leaned forward as she sat, putting her weight on her elbows and resting her chin on one hand. "I wasn't supposed to be here for when you found out..." she said in an almost whisper because if it were to be any louder she would surely be crying. |

"I should have never written that letter in the first place. It was a childish ideas and I'm sure you feel embarrassed by it, considering it was me who wrote the letter I would be pretty embarrassed to if I were you." She was trying to make her tone apologetic, but it only come out shaky, like she was closer to tears than before |

"No don't apologize." Lance takes hold of her chin and looks at her. Without thinking, Lance kisses the top of her head and pulls back. "I'm grateful for the letter. Helped me realize something and gave me a tiny bit of hope in love."

Arabella looked at Lance in confusion as he put his hand to her chin, sitting her up. What he was going to do become obvious quite quickly, as he kissed the top of her head. She blushed, but it wasn't very dark. She was still dizzy from when she first woke up and all of the movement was giving her a head rush. She looked at him with a slightly glazed over look as she was trying to regain focus. "What did it make you realize?" She asked, tipping her head to the side a bit |

Lance looks down and rubs his fingers. "That I liked you a lot or care about you at least." He said blushing a bit. "I had accepted that I would find no one to love me."

Arabella was blushing even more now, but she tried not make it look like she was the type of girl who was obsessed with a guy, even if she sort of was. But Arabella wasn't as odd about it. She was quiet, and never looked the part. "I would hope you care about me. I mean, I almost died." She gave a small, somewhat sad smile. |
