Dawnlight finally caught scent of the rabbit she really wanted.
Snowdapple dozed still listening for the shrill cries of her new kits.
Basilwhisker breathed in the scents of the forest and with it came a nearby mouse. He stalked toward the scent.
Darkstar took a small mouse from the freshkill pile and settled down to eat it. I will have to go out later to add something to the pile she thought.
Foxkit looked around the nursery and spotted the new kits. She wanted to go meet her new denmates but she didn't want to wake Snowdapple.
Elmkit wandered out into the clearing with Minkkit.

Stormleaf buried his vole near his squirrel and wandered off to search for prey. He scented the air, soon picking up traces of a mouse.
Leafkit cuddled in his mother's warm fur. The small kit was enjoying his first moments of life.

Emeraldpaw caught a mouse. She missed some other prey.

Dawnlight stalked toward the rabbit she pounced and missed it. It ran off.
Basilwhisker dispatched the mouse when he found it and buried it.
Snowdapple continued to doze.
Darkstar looked around to see if there was anyone who looked like they needed direction.

Following the mouse's scent, Stormleaf soon came across the mouse nibbling on a nut near the roots of a tree. He crept close to it and pounced, missing. The mouse scurried away into the undergrowth nearby.

Emeraldpaw Stalked the squirrel, It was nibling on a seed. She pounced and missed. The squrriel darted up a tree.

Basilwhisker looked up me heard something running towards both Emeraldpaw and himself. Then he caught scent of the rabbit. Emerald paw get ready to pounce I'll block off its exit.
Dawnlight chased after the rabbit only to realized it was running towards other cats. I'll help them block it off I guess.

Stormleaf headed back to the spot where he had buried his successful catches. I wonder if Dawnlight has caught anything, he thought to himself as he moved the dirt to pick up his squirrel and vole.

Dawnlight left the other cats to figure out the rabbit and started to walk back to where she had buried her prey when she saw a squirrel. She stalked up to it and grabbed it before it knew what hit it. Then she continued back to where she had left the other prey.

"Ok." Emeraldpaw said. When Basilwhisker blocked off it's exit Emeraldpaw pounced, and missed by a tail length. But before it ran away she caught it in her jaws. She dropped in in front of Basilwhisker. "Good?"

"Good job. Go ahead and collect your prey and we can go see if Snowdapple me the kits are awake now." Basilwhisker said.
Dawnlight walked up to Stormleaf.

"I know it's a whole moon away but have you thought about taking on an apprentice possibly. If you were to want to train one I can put in a recommendation with Darkstar." Dawnlight said.

"I had never considered it when I became Willowpaw's mentor either. I feel like I don't train her enough but it seems like she just disappears sometimes. I know at least two kits will be moving up next moon but I believe Darkstar has a mentor picked out for Elmkit. I could introduce you to Minkkit when we get back." Dawnlight could talk about the kits all day long she loved them how she thought she would love her own.

When Emeraldpaw got back to camp she went straight to the nursery to see Snowdapple and her kits. She quietly padded in to the nursery. "Did the birth go ok Snowdapple?" She was curious to know.

Basilwhisker followed with the rabbit Emeraldpaw had caught. He set it down next to Snowdapple.
Snowdapple looked up. "Yes it did. Would you like to meet the kits?"
