Sure, I'll put a flashing sign on it for you. Thomason had a distinct feeling that he had been dismissed. And it made him angry. He took special care of the princess's horse, special care to cater to this spoiled teenage brat, and she didn't even have the common decency to learn his name. He had been here for almost five years. "Thomason," he called after her, clenching the key in his fist. "My name is Thomason. Or Mr. Hostler, if you would prefer. Miss." Oh, he was pushing it now. He was required to call her by an honorific when he addressed her, and "miss" hardly counted. Besides that, he'd practically instructed her to call him by a title as well, which was somewhat ridiculous given their ages and stations, it was demanding respect the system said e wasn't entitled to. But the caste system was such a joke that even his family name reflected exactly the profession he and his family had been chained to for generations to come, and perhaps that would be easier for the poor princess to remember. He clenched his teeth and looked at her, his stiffened jaw making the diamond shape of his face striking.

The answer took Crystal back for a moment as well. Not because of its genuineness; she didn't yet know Andy well enough to be able to tell the difference of when he was putting on a show or baring his heart. No, the surprise to her was the suddenly very real reminder that Andy was a person who so happened to be a prince, not solely a prince. It sounded silly, she knew, but sometimes one knows things for a very long time but fails to fully appreciate the multi-faceted fact and substance of the matter. So it was in this case. She knew, of course, that Andy was a boy, only eighteen, who had had the job of prince set upon his shoulders since birth. But she hadn't really thought about the fact that he was not invulnerable, was not all-knowing or even always confident. He was even, perhaps, lonely, and eager for the kind of relationship that might arise out of this Selection. Perhaps. She glanced up at him again for a fleeting moment, making a mental note to always try to show him she appreciated him. People like to be appreciated, even princes, she thought, and smiled slightly. It made him seem much more relatable and accessible as a person. "Well, as you said, I guess we'll figure it out together." IT DELETED MY REPLY

This is gonna be so bad but I'm irked rn bc of it. Basically it's a brief summary of what I wrote. Replies will be better.)
"I'd like that very much," Andy told her, casting a brief glance down to Crystal. There was something about her that almost demanded that he be so genuine with her - and, to be honest, he loved it. Andy knew his father's cabinet already had their own agendas for the Selection. They were already talking about which caste would be politically correct choice, and from which province would be most beneficial. Andy knew about it, but he had already decided to ignore it. After all, this was his future; this was going to be his wife, the mother of his children he was expected to have. He'd rather the woman be someone he loved rather than a girl an advisor deemed correct. Andy knew this was his first date, of course, but it was refreshing to be spending time with someone who didn't expect anything but himself. Which brought him to another thought - he'd already showed her so much of Andy, the beloved, communal child of the palace staff. If he ever switched to Andrew, the next king, it would almost be like lying to Crystal. "For our second date I promise I'll have something better than just a walk. That is, of course, if you want a second date. I've been informed that you ladies have been instructed to never say 'no' to me, and, well, that's ridiculous. I mean, I get what it implies I'll be asking for - which I won't be asking for it, I know the law and I respect people, I was appalled to find out about it. I mean, me? I almost died when I - " Andy cutoff abruptly. He was having his own form of word vomit, something he never, ever did. "Sorry."

Crystal was prepared to assuage his worries about the walk and the second date when he mentioned that particular...guideline. Her face flushed bright red and she studiously kept her eyes trained on the ground for the next few yards. "Yes..." she choked out eventually. "Yes, that was--um--I'm very glad that rule won't be a ngood cof weary one," she finally managed, hoping desperately it would be enough to drop the subject. She hadn't even let herself think about it, had only nodded dumbly when the palace representative had mentioned it to her. Refusing the prince and accepting such a...proposition were equally terrifying notions for her, and it was certainly a relief to have both those terrors put to rest. She took in a huge breath and added shyly, "I think a walk was a lovely idea. I love flowers." She paused for a second to try to think of a good way to tell him she wanted him to take her on another date, but she couldn't find a way to word it without sounding either pushy or desperate, so she just left it at that. Still, she couldn't help allowing herself a small smile over the fact that she wasn't the only nervous one. The jumbled rush of words was rather endearing.
(Don't worry, Red! Your replies are always good!)

(Oh yeah... probably not, seeing its where California is now... Lemme change that XD)
Jaden couldn't help but grin triumphantly at Hazel's reaction. "Told you." He walked up next to Hazel, putting his hands on the edge of the roof as he took in the view... The large city, mirrored by the ocean with he occasional white reflection of a wave. "That should give you something to sketch, hm?" The butler looked over at the Selected girl with a smirk on his face.
Quinn smiled, letting out a breath that she didn't know she was holding. Falling against his chest, Quinn wrapped her arms around his torso. "I'm glad, GGG." She murmured, feeling the warmth and hearing his heart beat; two things that she never thought could be so comforting... The Selected girl gently pulled away and rose to her tiptoes to press her lips against his in a gentle, quick kiss. "We should probably get back." She said, voice full of disappointment.

Hazel looked over at Haden and laughed. "Don't you smirk at me like that!" she scolded him jokingly. She Ave an appreciative sigh. "It is beautiful, though. Thank you for showing me."

(Welcome back Blossom! I have Giselle open and I want to make some drama because that's why she exists x3 Wanna Rp?) Jaden laughed. "Anytime, Miss." The butler glanced around. "Would you rather I stay, or leave you to your drawings? I can just wait outside the door so I don't disturb you." He said kindly, hands behind his back in the usual manner.

(Haha! "That's why she exists." You're funny.)
Hazel shrugged. "You're free to do as you like," she told him. It made no difference to her whether he stayed or left. She honestly probably wouldn't notice him either way, although that probably sounded a little rude.

(Well I mean... XD)
Jaden nodded and smiled, wanting to sit on the ledge as he was used to, but he was dressed in his uniform, and with a Selected girl here... it wouldn't be proper. "Well, miss, if you don't mind, I'll simply stay here until I am needed elsewhere... It is a much better place to stay than in the kitchen." The butler gave a quick nod.

(Hi! I'm going to post a starter, and you an just reply whenever you get back on?)
Giselle was sat in the Women's room, reading a magazine while some maids worked on her hair. The two yawned and flipped through the pages, lost in her thoughts about the castle.

Delaney found herself in a quiet, side room off to the back of The Women's Room. She had been practicing one of her hidden talents, the violin. The soft string harmony echoed out of the less than sound proof room, straight through the silent Women's Room. The door was open a small bit and anyone could enter or watch without her noticing.

Giselle heard the music and waved away her maids, standing and setting the magazine down by the table before walking over to the doorway of the Women's Room and peeking into the door, watching Delaney. She's good... And doesn't Prince Andrew like music? Giselle shook her head to clear that thought, telling herself that her attractiveness and confidence would be more than enough to win the crown- the prince, over.

(Alright Holly's right! You're going to have all sorts of adventures x3) Jaden laughed. "Sometimes." The butler leaned on the ledge. "Especially when there's a big dinner, or breakfast, or lunch... even some snack times. Which, with the Selection, means every meal is 'big'." He flicked his dark red hair out of his eyes. "So yes, it smells good." He chuckled.

"Somebody must have told them that they way to our hearts is through our stomachs," Hazel laughed jokingly. "But it must get crowded," she conceded. She opened the book and rested it on the ledge, trying to decide what exactly to sketch. After a moment, she decided that the best course of action would be to sketch the entire view. "Where are my colors?" she muttered.

"It's not too bad, the rest of us staff get out when the cooks are in cooking." Jaden smiled, noticing that Hazel was starting to get ready to draw so he fell silent, eyes moving to the horizon with a happy sigh.
