(Ha! Wolf, that is hilarious!!!)
Hazel laughed. "There's nothing like a good slumber party hangover," she joked, nibbling at her strawberry pastry. "I had fun though. I was afraid it might be a little awkward; but for the most part, everybody seems pretty cool..."

"I agree." Quinn smiled, crossing her legs and glancing over at the Queen, seeing that Juliette had made her way over, and the girl couldn't help but giggle. "Look, Hazel, Juliette's giving Giselle a run for her money."

Hazel glanced over at the queen, the diva, and the guard. "Looks like a recipe for disaster," she murmured. Still, the grin on her face betrayed her amusement by the prospect. "We'll just sit here like perfectly innocent ladies while the drama unfolds," she said. She caught Crystal's eye and waved her over. "So! I'm sadly not a goodness cocersationalist. What should we talk about, Quinn my darling?"

(YES GIL YES)
"I'm honestly very excited to see where this goes; it's better than any movie!" Quinn laughed, reaching for a small sugar cookie. "I'll have to say that I am not the best conversationalist either, however, we could talk about our homes." She suggested, sitting back in her chair and smiling at Crystal. "I mean, it'll be nice to talk about it. It's weird to think that we won't see our families for a bit. I mean hopefully." The girl stilled. "Oh God, that sounded horrible. I mean, hopefully in that we won't go home because then we'd be eliminated and-" She cut off with a groan. "You know what I mean!"

Roberta glanced up at Gil, then stood beside him in silence for a few minutes. Then she leaned towards him slightly, whispering, "I bet you fifty dollars that Giselle and Juliette are going to get physical before the end of the week." Someone was going to end up with a black eye, she just wasn't sure which one would be foolish enough to strike first.

Roberta shrugged, "It's odd, yes, but I don't think there's much we can do to change it. It's just how things have always worked." Truth be told, the idea of a sixteen year old in the Selection seemed a bit extreme, but she doubted the young ones would get chosen. It was a huge age difference, far more than most people were willing to even entertain the idea of. Chances were that the youngest girls would go home rather quickly.

"Well obviously," Gil stated. "'Maid and guard go rouge in palace to send home every sixteen-year-old,'" he carried on in the best impression of a gossip reporter's voice. As a Two, born and raised, he often had access to these small types of luxuries and only referenced them to make fun of them. "It's just weird. I mean, Alex's only two years older than them so it's not horrible. Imagine if you or I walked out here and put a ring on one of their fingers when they got dismissed? Public scandal." He sighed after he said that because, well, if they did date, propose to, or marry any of the ex-Selected it would probably cause a media uproar. Nice.

(Okay, now, ha ha. A two- or three-year difference isn't such a big deal...when you're older. It is kinda weird when you're a teen. Plus, teenagers are ALL basically babies, but you just have no idea how young you are and look when you are one. Hahaha.)
Hazel laughed and patted her arm. "I knew what you meant," she assured her, grinning. She smiled at Crystal as she sat down across from them. "Good morning!" she greeted. Crystal looked a little skeptical. "It's three in the afternoon, Hazel..." she corrected, balancing a teacup in her hands. Hazel waved a hand. "Don't trouble me with the details."

Roberta glanced up at him, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth, "You act as though we'd wait until they were even out of the palace." Honestly, they could get into trouble for being quite as friendly as they had been if someone saw and decided that Alex ought to know. She was trying to be subtle, but someone was making it very hard to not act like a giddy child whenever that someone smiled. But it would certainly cause a little bit of gossip. "But you act like that's a story that's never been told before. My mother said similar rumors hit the gossip rags during the last Selection, it's just another part of the event to the public."

(Trust me, I'm well aware. When I was a sophomore, I couldn't imagine dating a senior. Now, though, several long years later, that age difference means much less. I think it has to do with the age difference as a percentage of your lifespan. Considering the rapid rate of change in teenagers, two years is a long time because it's 1/8th of our lifespan and we changed a lot in the previous two years. But when you're 25, two years isn't quite as much and you're not maturing and changing quite so rapidly anymore. Two years is less of a big deal)

(I agree with you on age gaps. Like, the difference between a 13 and a 17 year old is huge, but a 30 and a 34 year old isn't that appalling. And yes, we are all just babies, I can agree with that)
Quinn laughed. "Does it count as morning if I only woke up two hours ago?" She asked, a smile on her face as she took the last sip of her tea and put it down on the platter, where a maid immediately refilled it.

[ I am a wee bab yep yep ]
Juliette's brow quirked as Giselle tried to muster a reply. And then she actually smirked when the queen seemed to enjoy this little scene, not even giving her a look to behave herself. Oh boy, to have the queen on her side... Her stoic expression returned in a split second as the guard spun and crouched down, crossing her arms over the back of the chair and resting her head there. "So, Giselle, paint me a word picture of how much you adore the Queen's decorating. Really give me the nitty gritty details of your obviously impassioned, deep routed adoration of the lady whom you are so eager to replace?"

Giselle turned red. If it was from anger, embarrassment, or a mixture of both, she didn't know, but she shot a glare towards Juliette, after making sure the Queen wasn't looking of course, and fanned her face. "Well! What a question!" She laughed, buying herself time and reaching over to place her hand on Katherine's arm. "I have to say that I love the color of the room, it's a perfect shade that says relaxed and serious all at the same time. I also say, the drapes and the carpet compliment it perfectly!" She completely ignored the last bit of Juliette saying that she was eager to replace the queen... She would get the guard back for that later.
Katherine smiled as Giselle placed her hand on her and listened to her description, shooting Juliette a glance that told her enough, although her eyes held a certain amused sparkle. The Queen then looked at the Selected. "Well, my dear, thank you!" She said kindly. "And thank you for your time, but there are a lot of Selected girls here, and I would like to speak to each of them if I can have the chance. Let us speak soon." Her words were a dismissal. "Oh of course Your Majesty." Giselle stood and curtsied, the sweetest smile on her face. "I have loved spending time with you! We need to talk more about interior design soon, I find it quite interesting." The Selected girl curtsied again and began to walk back to her seat, telling herself over and over that killing Juliette would probably get her in trouble.
"I did!" Quinn laughed. "It's your fault!" She poked at Crystal playfully. "You two kept me up all night because of that sleepover!"

The poke tickled, and caused Crystal to break into a laugh. She clapped a hand over her mouth quickly, glancing around to make sure that nobody had heard her or been interrupted. "Oh. I-- I'm sorry," she told Quinn, once she had recovered. Her cheeks were flushed a light pink.
Hazel shook her head, laughing much more freely than Crystal had. "Don't apologize, Crystal. That was an awesome sleepover! We'll have to have another one sometime...just maybe without truth or dare. We've gotta keep everything in hand, here."

Quinn giggled. "Exactly!" She smiled, waving her hand excitedly. "But we have to do it again in the future... Maybe even with the truth or dare." She raised her eyebrow jokingly.

(I think your name looks cool now, Red!)
Hazel looked unconvinced. "Hmm. Maybe we'll take a vote, when we get to that point." She wasn't sure she wanted to open up that potential can of worms again. Not with so many giddy girls laughing over romance and dares about hugs and kisses or other things that could be embarrassing and harmful in the hands of the media. "Anyway. Why don't we all play around with the basic get-to-know-you questions? How old are you, how many siblings do you have, and what's your favorite color?" Hazel smiled and crossed one leg over the other knee. Crystal looked to Quinn, expecting her to answer first.

(Yoooo hi Wolf)
Quinn smiled and blinked a few times in thought. "I'm seventeen." She said with a smile. "And I'm going to turn eighteen in... let's see, its September so... seven months. April 15th." The girl looked down at her tea cup that was resting on the small plate on her lap. "I have three brothers; One of them, Samuel, is older than me. He's twenty. And then I have two younger bothers, Jackson and Taylor. Jackson's twelve, and Taylor's eight." She smiled affectionately, looking back up at her friends. "And my favorite color is red." She took a sip of her tea. "Okay, your turn."

Hazel nodded after each fact, as if that would somehow help her to remember. She polished off the last of her strawberry pastry, barely resisting the urge to lick the flaky crumbs from her fingertips. She wiped her fingers on a linen napkin instead and folded it carefully into her lap. "So you're the only girl? That must be interesting! Do you get babied, or do you have to try harder to keep up with the boys? I've also wondered if older brothers are actually protective of little sisters, or if it's only that way in movies or stories." She sat up a little straighter to recite her own facts. "I'm seventeen, until October. I have one you get sister, Violet, who is thirteen and one of Baby Prince'a biggest fans," she chuckled, "and my favorite color is...oh, it changes pretty much every day," she admitted. "Today it's lavender. Crystal?" Crystal took a breath. "Um, I'm nineteen." She suddenly felt very old and out of place. Heavens, she was older even than the prince himself. Even if the difference were only a few months, it was kind of strange to think of. "I have two older brothers, Eddie and Morgan--and no, they're not very protective. They have moments, I guess. And my favorite color is purple, on a pretty regular basis."

"My brothers aren't protective at all, they treat me like one of them." Quinn laughed. "Although when I got chosen for the Selection, Samuel got surprisingly protective." She smiled. "Hazel you have a sister? Oh I would love to have a sister! They seem much more willing for you to do makeup on them than those stinky boys!" The girl said teasingly, then turned to Crystal as she responded. "I wonder if our brothers would ever be friends... Boys seem to be friends with anyone." She shrugged.
