In a black bustier and black riding pants, Kat's clothes would be unsuitable had she not been a performer-well pretending to be a performer. Tying on a black lace mask she had nicked from the tailor's shop, she was glad she had pulled her hair back earlier. Gripping the ceramic jug in one hand and the baton in another, Kat was greatful to have grown up beside a dragon; he had taught her a few tricks. With a gap inbetween performances, for the singing women from a neighboring village had become nervous, Kat strode into the center, dropping the jug beside her feet before dipping the ends of the baton into it. Scraping the oil covered ends against the pavement, she smirked when the crowd gasped once flames appeared.

Arabella found out what sort of meeting this was quickly once she saw him slinking through town, seemingly wary. She was supposed to act as a mere villager minding her own buisness when in fact, it was quite the opposite. She was supposed to watch him, and study him movements. It was all necessary. She followed after him, keeping a good distance away for a while, but then once they neared a quieter section of town, she purposely bumped into him. Of course, she was meant to make it look like an accident. "Oh I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." When Arabella saw him up close though, she saw that this couldn't be the same man as in the drawing. The one in the drawing had a scowl on his face and looked a bit uglier compared to this man. Had she merely ran into someone who looked like him? It was possible.

Colin looked up as a girl stepped out. He was interested in the fire, wondering what she would do with it.

Shard had his eyes set on a women. He slipped closer to her when he felt a bump and stumbled aside a step. He looked up to see his target was gone. He turned to look at who had knocked him. "Are you ok?" He asked

Lighting the other side, she began to twirl the baton between her two hands before switching to one, the process looking natural as she did it. A smile graced her usually stoic face before she tossed the baton up, the black stick twirling and giving off the illusion of a bright ring of fire. Catching it, she smirked as a few members of the crowd let out rowdy cheers before composing themselves. Repeating her steps for a few minutes, she held the baton still with one hand and picked up the jar with the other before filling her mouth with the vile liquid. Raising one lit end up to her mouth, she spat out the liquid, creating a giant plume of fire, breathing fire like a dragon. And with that, she took a bow, collected her things and turned to leave.

Colin watched with an impressed expression. He wouldn't touch fire, fire was associated with Dragon's their sworn enemy. He leaned over to whisper into his fathers ear before sitting back down.

Greatfully taking a goblet of water offered to her by a noble man, she sat down, enjoying the cool shade a study oak tree provided. For the next hour, more performers entertaining the large crowd until finally the King stood up to speak.

The king stood to announce the winner. He announced that the girl with the fire breathing would be the winner since he had no name to call her by. He motioned for her to approach.

Plastering on a bright, and rather fake smile, she made her way towards the King and bowed before disguising her voice, making it higher and sweeter than her normal voice. "It is an honor to be in your presence my Lord. My name is Rosetta." Yes, yes that's quite a lovely name, I think I'll stick to that for a while, at least if anyone asks.

"Prince Colin," she said quickly before clearing her throat. "That is, if he'll have me." If her plan didn't work, she'd likely go insane, she needed him to listen, to understand the innocence of dragons.

The king nodded. "Very well. Go on." He motioned to his son.
Colin was kinda surprised she chose him. He stood up, seeing her. He took a breath. Well this would sure be interesting.

Arabella brushed herself off, and in doing so, accidentally let the hood of her cloak fall off. She looked up at him again, studying his face and trying to compare it to the image, but now it was slowly fading away from memory. "Yes I'm fine. But what about you? It was my fault. I bumped into you." She asked, much more genuine this time than the last.

Shard shook his head. "I'm fine. Just startled me is all." He shrugged. He ran a hand through his shaggy black hair.

Following the prince, she couldn't help but smile again, a real smile this time. Things were actually going right, she was sure that she could deliver her message and persuade the prince to see her ways. "Well my prince, did you enjoy the performance?"

"I did. I was very impressed with the fire breathing." Colin looked st her. He moved off to a private space for them to talk. Guards hung close though.

"Quite beautiful isn't it? I try to make it appear as natural as possible, though I'll never be as good as a dragon." She said in a joking manner, crossing her arms over her chest. How could she get away from the guards? If they heard her say anything about saving said creatures, the guards would surely intervene.

"Yes it did make me of dragons." Colin nodded. He moved further off from the guards, not wanting them close to overhear their conversation.

"They're quite peaceful creatures, I'm sure you've met many being a prince. Aren't they just lovely?" Batting her eyelashes, she winced slightly at the itchiness of the mask but continued to smile. "I haven't seen one in years, what I wouldn't give to see one once more."

Colin frowned. "Lovely? More like dangerous and evil. They kill people and livestock. I've met them and killed them." He looked st her.

Kat's eyes widened and before she could control herself she exclaimed in her normal fiery tone, "How dare you proudly admit to killing innocent creatures! Many of them have no choice because people steal their food and hunt them like they're some trophy. Had you taken your time and allowed yourself even a second to ponder if what you were doing is right or wrong you'd realize that they're beautiful creatures who are just scared."

Colin looked a bit taken aback by her voice and tone. He stopped his walking and turned on her, eyes angry. "And who do you think you are? Comeing to me and acting like you have all the answers. Dragons are dangerous and must be stopped." He snapped at her. "Your words sound rather treasonous to me."

Seeing that the coast was clear, she ripped off her mask and glared at him. "I am not one to bow down, especially towards royalty. And while you have hidden behind stone walls your whole life, listening to corrupt government tell you what to do, I have lived beside the monsters you so fear." Whistling, she grabbed the Prince's hand to keep him still as Anguis landed beside her silently, his bright green eyes wide as he stared at the stranger.

Colin stepped back as she ripped off her mask, eyes widen in surprise. "Y-you're the girl from last night." He stuttered, looking up as she took his hand and the dragon landed next to them. "N-no no!" He looked at it with fear, trying to move backwards and pull his sword.

Anguis' eyes widened and he stepped back in fear, cowering behind Katerina who squeezed the prince's hand, her eyes begging him to stop. "He's all I have Colin. If you plan on killing him, kill me first." Letting go of the boys hand, she stepped away from him and turned to face her dragon, her eyes going soft as she studied the creature. "Please, all I want is for someone to listen. They are not the monsters." She pet the smooth black dragon affectionately. He was just a small dragon, the size of a carriage and the runt of the litter.

Colin stood still, sword in hand. His arm was shaking though. Where there was one there could be more. "S-step away from it." He said, stepping forward. "It will kill you. Dragons can't be trusted."

Swinging a leg over the dragon, she sat on Anguis who was purring with anticipation before beckoning the prince to follow her. "Come on, it'll be fun. How do you think I got up on your balcony last night?" Anguis cocked his head to the side, curious as to why the prince looked so terrified. "And he's the last of his kind here, the rest have either been killed or driven away. They're the only ones who should be scared."

Colin lowered his sword a little. "And how can I trust you? You're one of the dragon extremists. They would do anything to kill me, how do I know you aren't trying to do the same."

"If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead your Highness." She said, shrugging. "Besides, there must be a small part of you who wants to trust me, otherwise don't you think you would have called the guards by now?" Anguis nodded, glancing up at the girl on his back before shifting on his feet, ready to take off. "It'll only be a few minutes, then I'll drop you back off here and we'll pretend it never happened. Rosetta was another crazed village girl who was deeply and madly in love with you and attempted to seduce you. Hurt by your denial, she ran off, leaving you to stand alone. No one will know besides you and me."

Colin slowly moved to sheath his sword, stepping towards the dragon, still shaking softly. He was unsure but at the same time he was curious. He looked up at the dragon, slowly reaching his hand out.
