Paxton && Theresa;;
"This," said Tessa, huffing softly as she lifted Narcissus' cage up above the seats, one knee resting on the plush surface and the other resting lightly on the edge of the window, "is you, being a bully."
Paxton raised a single eyebrow at his sister, elbows resting on the table between them and head rested lightly as he watched the platform outside, sitting cross-legged with his shoes sitting on the floor. The twins were already in their robes, having formed a habit of changing beforehand just so that they didn't have to change in front of anyone else should the need come to it - and honestly, it worked out well.
"I'm not a bully," he said in a monotone, "I am the nicest person you know."
He looked away from his sister's blank look, and heard rather than saw her flop down into her own seat. Then, her foot struck his knee and he hissed through his teeth lightly, shifting his weight backwards to avoid her. Perhaps they made for an unlikely pair, at first glance - a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin in harmony, but they were so alike that it made it impossible to not know that they were siblings (though he had to admit, it ground on his nerves that people assumed that Tessa was a year older).
"Yeah," Tessa murmured with something akin to amusement on her face, adjusting herself until she could stretch her legs over the table to rest in front of her brother, "you sure are."
Their dynamic had always been like this; close and yet not without their flaws, often arguing for the sake of it. Typical siblings, really. Pax absently began to pull at Tessa's socks, only stopping when she kicked out and withdrew her legs until she, too, was sitting cross-legged. Similar images - one male, one female, and both with equally bland expressions. They stared each-other down and paid no attention to the people passing their carriage, seemingly too intimidated to intrude upon a very intense staring contest.
"I hate you," said Tessa.
"Mmm," replied Pax.
- - -
Micah;;
There was no way around it - Micah was terrified. From the realisation that his oversized, hand-me-down sweaters and loose jeans were not rare but also not common, to the realisation that he was completely alone because his mother was too busy to see him off, he'd only barely managed to find an empty compartment and shove his things in, leaving Sybil's box above him but keeping the cat, herself, on his lap.
Slender fingers buried into smoky silver fur, and he listened to the content purring of the kitten (for she was only three months old), smiling a little as he did so. She stared back at him with widened eyes, paws kneading the soft material of his dark sweater and bushy tail swishing back and forth. He murmured in gentle Spanish to her, and she chittered away as if she understood - a part of her that he was grateful for.
Hogwarts still didn't feel real, even after Diagon Alley and the works - he could feel his wand in his pocket like a weight, and his heart wouldn't stop beating. Too fast, too fast, way too fast. His letter had come with his birth-name on, for his parents had not gotten around to changing it - but did that matter? His mother had told him to talk to the headmaster about it, but would there be an opportunity? He was thinking about this far too much.
"Sybil," he murmured, ducking his head and smiling as she swatted at some of his hair. Maybe it would be bearable - he knew that his kitten would likely follow him around, so classes had to be bearable, at the very least. What would they even learn? He'd read through all of his books and he still didn't quite understand; though he felt he wouldn't need his books due to his memory. It was, quite honestly, a very exciting day, even if his heart threatened to explode.

[[ i just realized i actually have Luke and Tia open. i'll bring one of them over to Micah ]] || Luke & Tia ||
''Luke stop shouting, you know I hate being the centre of attention,'' the first year hissed, fidgeting uncomfortably as rows of eyes flicked over to the conversation going on between the two siblings. Did her elder brother really have to make a scene? It was her first day, too. Things were really getting onto a great start.
''Then stop kicking my shins!'' the Slytherin spat. Wow, he's really thought that he was going to have a great time at Hogwarts now that his sister was there, but it just seemed as if she was embarrassing him. Didn't she know that he had a reputation to uphold? ''Ugh, I'm leaving. See you at school,'' the second-year muttered. He didn't usually fight with Tia, but when he did neither one of them wanted to lose. It was better to clear the scene when eyes were prying, he figured.
Luke glanced around at the compartments. Most were full, spare a compartment with a lonely-looking first year in it. Luke slid inside confidently and flopped down opposite him. ''Hi,'' he grunted, forgetting to wipe the angry scowl left from the squabble with his younger sister off his face.

( it's chill man )
After a couple of seconds, Tessa flicked her gaze away from her brother and raised a single eyebrow at the two kids, a faint smile crossing her features. At that moment, she couldn't have looked any more different from her twin, who turned his head to look out of the window again, artfully dodging answering a question that he didn't particularly wish to respond to.
"Sure," she said lightly, "gimme a sec to shuffle over to jerkface's side and you can sit here."
Instead of actually going around the table, she huffed and jumped over, stepping on her brother's thigh and watching with amazement as he barely twitched. She shuffled around until she was sitting, cross-legged once again, next to her brother, and she grinned at the two newcomers again.
"Voila. I'm Tessa - this is Pax."
After a couple of seconds, Pax flashed the two a grin and gave them a two-fingered salute, finally having mustered the energy to be somewhat civil, at the very least.

( SDKJH i didnt see ur post cosmic omg thank u tho ! sleep well uvu )
When someone flopped opposite him, Micah blinked and looked up with widened eyes, taking a moment to assess the situation before he shrunk back, just slightly. On his lap, Sybil lifted her head and chirruped again, nosing his chin softly and reaching up with a paw to pat his face. He used a finger to pat her paw down and scolded her in gentle Spanish, before clearing his throat and looking back to the stranger.
"Um," he said, eloquent as ever, "hello."
He glanced to the door of the compartment before back to the boy, eyebrows raised slightly as he considered what he could do. Was introducing himself normal? That seemed like a fairly average thing to do. He'd never been to a boarding school, but...hey, he had many assumptions. Maybe if he shared his name he'd feel slightly less awkward.
"Uh - I'm Micah," that did not at all help how he felt, but he'd gotten his name out and so that was fine. Or maybe he'd misread the entire situation and this kid didn't want to talk to him, which was fine, too.

|| Luke ||
Luke examined the boy closely, through slitted eyes. To many he came off as intimidating, whether it was his intention or not. But this time he wasn't trying to alarm the kid who sat opposite him, looking quite...afraid? or just confused? Luke often found it hard to read the expressions of strangers. That, and, he could barely be bothered to figure people out anyway.
''Hey, Micah,'' he said, sitting up from the slumped position he was sat in. Already he hadn't made much of a good impression. He didn't usually care very much what others thought of his cold demeanor, but he had decided that he'd at least try to seem like a warm, welcoming person, despite the fact that he was that kid that liked to pull pranks on the easy targets for the fun of it, and pull the ponytails of the girl sat in front of him in class because it was hilarious to see her infuriated reaction.
''Nice name,'' he added, having never heard that name before. It made a refreshing change from all the common names that littered the school, anyway.
''My name is Luke - it's not very interesting, I know,'' he mumbled, before raising his voice a little louder, in another attempt to seem friendly and attentive. ''So, this is your first year? I bet you're excited. I was this time last year, for sure.''

Micah ;;
His gaze lowered and he bit his lip nervously, gently booping Sybil's nose. Maybe it would be a good idea for her to stay in her cage, but she was so comfortable. If she got spooked, he decided, she could go back into the cage. Otherwise, she could stay firmly on his lap, where she seemed quite comfortable. The kitten seemed to have finally noticed the stranger, but she barely glanced to him before her attention was on her owner once more.
"Oh," he smiled softly, "thank you. It's - um, it's Hebrew. If we're not speaking Spanish, we're speaking Hebrew."
Yikes, oversharing! Micah bit his lip and settled back into his seat, studying the other boy - Luke - with some interest. Then, he smiled and laughed quietly. "No," he shook his head. "Luke is a good name. If you trace it's history, it goes back to Lucius - which means 'the bright one', or 'the one born at dawn'. It's a good name. Your name day is October the 18th."
Micah shifted his weight and looked out of the window, before raising his eyebrows.
"Oh! Yes," he smiled and ducked his head, "I come from a muggle family, so it's all very new. I'm not particularly sure what house I'd be in, though," he wrinkled his nose a little and half-closed his eyes, watching as Sybil climbed onto the table and meowed at Luke to greet him. "This is Sybil. What house are you in?"

|| Luke ||
This kid certainly seemed to have a lot of information stored up in his brain, Luke thought. He wasn't the sort of geeky school nerd that liked to actually study, and school-freaks weren't usually the sort of people he spoke to. Well, if he wanted best friends that were obsessed with learning he'd have been in Ravenclaw. Yet, he noticed that he was still impressed by the random knowledge about the history of his name that Micah told him, and couldn't help but utter a quiet ''cool, I never knew that.''
Luke listened as the first-year spoke about how he was from a muggle family. As well as not having any Ravenclaw friends, he also didn't have any muggleborn friends, which was probably due to the fact that he was a Slytherin, and 99% of Slytherin's were pureblood. ''I'm pureblood, so I knew I was coming to the school since I was really young,'' Luke explained, ''it must be pretty neat, thinking you're gonna have to live the boring, ordinary life of a muggle but then getting a letter from Hogwarts. Not that it wasn't exciting when I got my letter...but I already have two elder sisters.''
''You seem like a Ravenclaw, for sure,'' the Slytherin said adamantly, but then pondered on this, ''although there are some Slytherin's that are really smart. Perhaps you'll be a Slytherin, like me! Yeah, I'm a Slytherin, everyone assumes they're all sour and bad, but really I think the house is cool.''
Luke noticed how he was becoming more and more talkative by the second. He wasn't one to talk to people he classed as ''uncool'', and anyone any number of years below him would definitely be classed as ''uncool'' amongst him and his friends. He glanced at the little cat that Micah had on his lap. It looked pretty young - clearly not yet full-grown. ''Sybil's alright,'' he said, accompanying his words with a smirk and a shrug of his shoulders, ''but check out how cool Zeus is.'' He held up the cage containing his rather large snowy owl, who woke up from his slumber and squawked. ''My younger sister owns his brother,'' the second-year added, ''but she named her's Marshmallow! Marshmallow.''

Micah ;;
A sheepish smile made it's way across his face.
"I have eidetic memory," he said lightly, watching his cat as she settled down on the table between them. "It used to confuse doctors, but it's useful. Learning is based from memory, not from intelligence or whatever. The only regret I have is that once I've memorised something, I can never forget it - no matter how hard I try."
Micah then huffed out a quiet laugh.
"I guess...hm," he frowned thoughtfully and tilted his head back, slowly starting to come into himself now that he realised he didn't have any real expectations upon him. "It's hard to explain. My parents thought it was a practical joke at first so they ignored it, and then they were visited by a woman. They were told about Hogwarts and stuff and, yeah," he wrinkled his nose, "they won't set foot near anywhere magical, though. Had to have a family friend take me to Diagon Alley and that was just sheer luck that he had anything to do with the wizarding world. Um," the boy cleared his throat and lowered his gaze. "Anyway, yes. It was rather exciting, though it's like...yikes, what if I'm bad at magic and stuff because I'm muggleborn?"
Sybil meowed for attention and so he reached over to ruffle her fur, a small smile on his face. "Ravenclaw," he repeated, "possibly. Slytherin is pretty fascinating, though," oh man, he was really getting into it now. He could almost feel his brain flicking out the words he'd memorised. "It's actually rather strange that Slytherin are seen as bad? If anything, they'd be fierce friends; ambition comes in many forms, and you have to be passionate to be ambitious. Of course, the ambition can turn sour - but jeez, anyone can see why considering how Slytherins are treated," he shook his head. "I bought a book detailing about the Hogwarts houses when I was getting my textbooks, and I managed to convince myself that I'd be Hufflepuff because I was muggleborn? But like, I know for a fact that I wouldn't be that," a timid smile curved his lips. "Ravenclaw or Slytherin, I could see, I think. Definitely not Gryffindor," he raised his hands to show how shaky he was, just from conversation. "Maybe more Ravenclaw than Slytherin."
The owl caused Micah's eyes to widen, and he laughed quietly, watching it for a while.
"Wow," he breathed, "my parents would've killed me if I got an owl, so I got Sybil. She's still tiny - though a lot of people say she's massive, but...she has five years of growing ahead of her. Zeus is super cool, though," he blinked and looked back to Luke, "a shame about the name Marshmallow, though. His brother could've been Poseidon."

|| Luke || ''Wow, that's cool,'' Luke said, unable to help himself, as Micah spoke about how good his memory was, ''I wish I had good memory. I forget everything once I've learnt it.''
Well, that wasn't exactly true. It was more a case of not being bothered to learn anything in the first place. Flicking a pencil across the room at the back of someone's head was much more interesting than listening to Professor Binns drawling on about how Hogwarts came to be or whatever - which he'd heard all before. In fact, his aim was getting so much better now. Last week at the dinner table he'd managed to get his 10-year-old sister on the top of her head...and then he'd been sent to his room.
''Yeah, Slytherin is cool,'' Luke agreed enthusiastically, ''yeah, we're pretty ambitious - and cunning, too. Slytherin is the best house, in my opinion.'' That partly may be because he was in the house, but Luke had still always dreamt of being in Slytherin. Even after his two elder sisters were both placed into Ravenclaw. ''Also, being a Muggleborn changes nothing. You get the same treatment at Hogwarts, whatever your background is. It won't automatically make you a Hufflepuff.''
The second-year lounged back in his seat as he watched Micah's small cat make her way to the centre of the table. He listened as the first-year spoke about her. Luke wasn't a huge fan of cats - in his opinion, they were selfish creatures, who only wanted things for themselves, and didn't have a care about their owner at all. But he didn't voice these opinions to Micah. Maybe he would have if he was surrounded by a group of other people, but it would just be awkward if he somehow started a squabble now.
''Yeah, that would've been a much better name,'' Luke agreed, when they got into the subject of the owls he and Tia owned, ''when we first got them, a year and a half ago, they hadn't gotten their adult feathers yet, and weren't fully grown. Tia, being Tia, thought he looked like a small white Marshmallow. So that's what she named him. Poor thing. She still thinks it's a great name, too.''

( sorry for vanishing last night man i had a huge call w/ friends )
Micah ;;
With a small smile, Micah ducked his head and rested his elbows lightly on the table, absently toying with Sybil's tail and watching as she watched his hand. "It's pretty helpful, I'll admit. Unfortunately, once people know I have eidetic memory, I can't use the 'I forgot' excuse about many things."
So he probably wouldn't tell his professors, in all honesty. If Micah could say he forgot about homework or something, then that would be great (though he doubted he'd conveniently 'forget'). He leaned against the window and tilted his head a little as he watched Luke, still moving his hands gently for Sybil to pat at with her massive paws.
"That sounds pretty cool," he nodded, "being cunning is awesome. Uh," he snorted softly and glanced away. "Actually, I thought I'd be more of a Hufflepuff because I don't really see my traits in any of the other houses, which isn't surprising."
Sybil meeped softly and rolled onto her back, still patting gently at Micah's hand. He moved both hands to tickle her stomach and snorted softly as she wiggled, soft mews and purrs rumbling from her. She was a loud and talkative cat - that's what he loved about her. She wasn't even from Diagon Alley! His mother had put together money to buy him a purebred cat to see him off, and he'd fallen in love with her. Admittedly, her name wasn't supposed to be what it was, but he liked it anyway. It suited her.
"Poor owl," Micah grimaced in sympathy. "I once had a hamster named Mister Cheesypants, because he looked like he was wearing pants made of cheese. Looking back on it, I'm pretty sure he died because he was embarrassed, not because he had a heart attack, but parents will say anything," he grinned, "I was terrible at names, and then I learned that the internet existed and now I have a scary amount of names in my head."
Complete with definitions, but he decided that that was bragging too much.

Tori, per her usual behavior, had been running late to getting to the train station that morning. It had only been a day since she had flown back from America, where her dad was currently living in, and the timezones had thrown her off. Well, that was her excuse at least. In actuality she had completely lost track of time, got lost in a book that she had picked up at a used book store. She rubbed the tattoo on her wrist self consciously, something she did when she was nervous, having put down Phillips cage momentarily, causing him to flutter a bit, confused as to why he was being set down before they made it into a carriage. The sixth year had no idea where she was going to sit- one of the reasons why the train ride to Hogwarts and the opening festivities where by far her least favorite part of the entire school year, and one of the reasons why she never wanted to be prefect- because then she would have been expected to attend. She let out a sigh, her left hand clutching an older looking suitcase, her trunk right behind her, hoping none of her creatures would try to get out, like they did in the taxi on the way to the train station. Now that would have been a mess. If only her mother would actually recognize that Tori was a witch, and couldn't really go on public transportation with her suitcase, but she didn't, and highly disproved of Toris magic- calling it her "dabbling" phase, like she would grow out of magic eventually. She shook herself, disturbing Salem, who had been sleeping peacefully around her neck. The little black cat let out an annoyed mew, and she patted him absently, realizing she had gotten lost in thought once again. Now to just figure out where to sit... She thought, wondering if any of her friends had open seats. (Really any sixth or fifth years are open to being her friend ^^ I would think it fun if some of her closer friends where in another house as the rp progresses)
