The Sisters are related by blood and theoretically we'd start not long after the sisters have established the Clutter. It's not a "long time ago" sort of situation, more of a "eh it's been a year since the Sisters started accepting other cats to live in their home."
When you've got a general synopsis PLEASE share, I'd love to read it!

Wait what should I call this clan or group??
The clutters of ferns territory is something you might see in a fairy tail, With large twisted trees, thick canopies and large tangling roots. The trunks of the territories trees sit above ground, making it perfect for a camp. Surrounding the large gnarled roots, are large rocks going downward in a gentle slope. There is a little cliff but something that isn't hard to jump down, it even carries a cyrstal blue stream and waterfall. At the end of the slope or hill is a woodies woodland with tall towering trees with a little less canopy.
Opal creek~ Opal creek is a relatively large stream or river that runs a few minutes from the camp but not too close, a little farther downstream, at the little cliff is a small waterfall. But what most outsiders don't know is that behind the water the ground opens up to a tunnel that holds a cave, This cave is large with a hole in the side giving the cave dappled sunlight. Father upstream the stream ventures off into tinier streams making little pool of water and lots of moss along the tops of rocks. This is a good place for hunting mice, voles, small birds and squirrels
The mother tree Or Camp~ The mother tree is at the top of the hill close to the cave but not to close, and holds a gigantic tree in the center of the territory with large entwined roots making a network of tunnels. The trunk sits high up off the ground making plenty of small dens and tunnels, on the highest end are rocks which make up the walls of camp. It is almost like a little forest under the tree. Healer's den~ A tiny stream runs in one of the dens and has swirled roots with make little pockets in the ground perfect for nests. Leaders den~ To the right of the healer's den, Is the leaders den which is too levels the top level opens up to the clearing in the center of the tree which is where the four leaders give announcements, the den is large with enough space to fit four sisters. There are also swirled roots on the walls of the den where the sisters sleep. The entrance is right next to the leaders den which just consists of a tunnel of roots and rocks. Defender's den~ The Defenders den is also the closest to the entrance, so they are the first ones to hear enemies. The defenders den is a large area of densely tangled roots, the floor is nearly untouchable but with such large entangled roots it makes ` great nest holds. Hunter's den~ The hunters den is actually connected to the Defender's den, and you have to go through the defends den to get inside. There is a side hole which allows cats to slip out to the clearing but is unnoticeable in the clearing. Keepers den~ The keepers den is more dense with virtually no holes only tiny slits that let the light dapple through, the entire back wall is cover with moss and there is a tiny tiny pond along the back wall. It is spacious with only a few roots intruding in there are also little caves in the roots perfect for nursing she cats and giving birth. Trainer's den~ The trainers den is in the middle of the Keeper's den and Healer's den, is the trainer's den. It is less spacious and but it is more open, ferns cover the entrance.
The glittering woods~ The glittering woods is at the bottom of the hill and is more a tall, flat forest. The froest is covered with black berry bushes, little shrubs and raspberry bushes. Which makes it great for hunting rabbits and lizards, opal creek does flow through the flat forest trickling through the rocks where the woodlands ends making tiny waterfalls.

Well, I imagine it'll just be called "The Clutter" because we're the only one in the territory.
Hmm I like it, but I may flesh it out a little more if that's okay? Fix up the grammar and all that jazz.

Nah I'll take care of the history. If you want perhaps you could come up with a few other spots in the territory that can act as land markers? Or things that we know lie outside of the territory?

The Clutter's Territory is considered by most to be a lush forest– particularly in the Summer months. From the Spring Equinox to the last Autumn Harvest Moon, the Forest is tittering with prey, large and small. Deer linger in these woods, their footsteps leaving clear trails all over the territory. Large trees twist and curl over themselves, the occasional claw mark dug deep into the bark as a marker. You know where you are, based on where you've been, and these many markers help you navigate the undergrowth. You'll find moss covered boulders all over the territory, each one also marked. Instead of claw marks dug into the stone you will find berry-red paw stains on the face of the rock, the spot you'll always see because moss refuses to grow there. Despite the apparent abundance of the large hoofed mammal, no one in the Clan can bring down a deer– but occasionally there will be a wolf that wanders down from the North that takes one down and if you're quick and crafty– you can bring a bit of meat back to camp. The prey that cats catch on their own are the typical mice, occasional pheasant, the rare rabbit, one of the many squirrels and song birds that flutter through the trees– voles by the creek, the occasional fish in the river– there is plenty of food. At least in Spring and Summer, even in Autumn food is not exactly difficult to find. It is only in Winter, when the cold winds blow and snow falls heavy and unrelenting, when prey is hard to find. The creek is mostly frozen, the River has frozen chunks that are dangerous to cross. Occasionally, hunting groups will make snow dens, in order to stay out hunting longer. Sometimes it takes days for groups to return with enough prey to feed the Clutter. During this time, everyone– excluding the oldest, the heavily pregnant and the youngest– takes part in hunting.
The undergrowth is full of various berry bushes– raspberry, black berry, even some blue berry. Herbs are also surprisingly abundant– not all of them, but the most common coltsfoot, marigold, wild garlic, and goldenrod are. Catmint can be found to the west, where what little remains of an old hunting lodge can be found. Yew also grows here, usually at the northern edge of the territory, where the earth is rockier and brambles are easier to come by. A river runs from north east to the south west– cutting across the territory with clear, blue water. It breaks into a smaller stream about two thirds through the territory. Shiny stones line the shallows of that river, the main one. The creek has simple limestone and moss as the rock bed and serves as water source that runs closer to camp. Not too close, but close enough that the healers to access it readily from camp through a thorn tunnel. Going back to the river– it's head is a spring found within a cave at the base of the mountains. As the cave is a number of days from the most northern point of the territory– it is far enough away that few visit without a very good reason. From the spring, it runs until the north eastern point of the territory, where two layered waterfalls are found. They look like uneven steps with the second one is moderately reachable– forming a seemingly endless pool where the first waterfall carves into it. When you look up from the base of the falls, it is a sheer cliff from the top of the second fall to the top of the first. Impossible to climb, but one can go around the long way to get an incredible view of the whole territory. It is customary to bring apprentice groups to the top of the falls to inspire them. Following the River, past the rapids at the base of the waterfall, to the southern most point of the territory, it eventually leads into a field– a golden field that stretches as far as the eye can see, the occasional outcropping of rocks or patch of trees in the distance. When the trees grow shorter, and the undergrowth taller, you know you've gotten to the southern border. If you go far enough, following the river, you'll hit that field. It's a fine hunting ground that is outside of the border, many rabbits can be found in that field. However, so can foxes so beware.
The Mother Tree, otherwise known as the Camp, is arguably the largest and tallest tree within the forest. From the ground you can notice it's girth to distinguish it as the camp– but from the waterfalls? You can see it, clear as day. It's canopy reaches out to the sky, like arms awaiting a hug. The Mother Tree's thick, twining roots make for a great barrier and with an arching gap surrounded by boulders as the entrance– it's a certainly memorable. Within the camp, one will find a high ceiling, the tree's base creating a dome like structure and the roots keep the warmth in. The dens are formed from broken bits of boulders wedged in between the roots, ferns, brambles and vines curling to create moderately malleable dens. The dens are found in a semicircle as follows starting from the den on the furthest left when entering camp: The Healers Den: The deepest dug den into the ground. A dozen moss nests are found within. On one side closest to the entrance, you've got five nests on essentially a stone platform. They are for the healers. The seven below, on the lowest level of the den, are for the sick and injured. The argument for why the seven nests are in, essentially, a relatively shallow hole is because the healers know for sure the patients are better when they can, unhindered, get themselves out of the hole and up to the ledge where the entrance and the healers nests are. There is a back entrance that leads to the Creek, it is heavily fortified and hard to enter and exit due to a block on the inside of the Healers den which can only be opened from the inside. It is a movable boulder, one that needs two healers, or at least one very strong one. Only fully initiated healers know what is behind the block. ONLY initiated healers. Used only in emergencies, or when water is extremely necessary. The Elders Den: The den filled with the most moss– also considered the sandiest den. Holds twelve nests. The Nursery: The most secure den, with a heavily fortified entrance that always has at least two guards in front of it. Six large nests fill the space within– and there is enough space left over for the kits to play safely. The Apprentice Den: Two dozen moss nests clumped in groups of four. Each apprentice group claims a clump when they're assigned together. The roots are lined with claw marks– as each graduating group claws a root. The Den of the Sisters: The furthest den to the back, with a sloping root that sticks out of the top of the den, curling from inside the den, through the gap in the roof, allowing the sisters to walk up and address the Clutter from above. The Council's Den: A den with four nests. Only for the four cats who are the most experienced of the four disciplines sleep here. The Hunters Den: A den with two dozen nests spiraling counter clockwise inward. The most experienced cats sleep in the nests closest or in the center of the spiral. The less experienced, and thus the younger cats, sleep in the nests that are furthest from the center. The Keepers Den: A den with two dozen nests set in rings. The most experienced cats sleep in the center most nest rings. The less experienced, and thus the younger cats, sleep in the nests that are furthest from the center. The Defenders Den: A den with two dozen nests spiraling clockwise inward. The most experienced cats sleep in the nests closest or in the center of the spiral. The less experienced, and thus the younger cats, sleep in the nests that are furthest from the center.

There, the territory has been spiffed up a bit. Not that yours wasn't amazing, because it was, I just changed some things and made things a little more detailed in some respects.
What did you originally have in mind? I'm thinking highlands of Scotland or Ireland. Lots of snow in winter, but lush greenery in spring/summer. Not too heavy canopy, enough that there is light for undergrowth to grow–
I'd love it if you wanted to write up the religion! But if it's too much trouble we'll work something else out. Keep in mind tho, that the Clutter is First Generation. Meaning it's only been maaaybe a year or two since the Sisters initially started inviting people to live in their territory.

The first four. Their family has lived in that territory for at least two or three generations before that. Through the mother– who was born there and is the last survivor of her litter (do with that what you will, maybe their mother had three sisters who died, maybe she was the only one... But what is set in stone is that the Four Sisters are the first ones who ever allowed other cats who were not kin to live with them in their territory.). The father of the Four Sisters was a wandering rogue who lived with them only until the Sisters were about 8 or so moons. Then he left.

I was thinking fairies honeslty or something you would see in a fantasy movie... I saw the territory where the camp is held, that the cats would walk on the roots of the tree and were sleeping in the root because they were so large... like the roots covered the entire ground near the camp, along with like rocks... then the roots and big trees would thin out to tall trees. and the cave is where the council has meetings.... but you explain some it a lot better than me.
It's hard to explain... but i wasn't imagining a big stream but a smaller one that ran over the rocks and down a very small cliff that was easy to jump down.

Post by Featherwing on Jan 3, 2017 23:51:23 GMT -5
Ahhh, I get it, so a fantasy type territory.
That would be... difficult for the purpose of this rp– which is as realistic as we can get without compromising the suspension of disbelief. These ARE cats who have organized themselves to such a point that they have healers, memory keeper, designated hunters, and fighters after all. Those types of environments are actually quite sparse in terms of prey. Because of the heavy canopy there is very little undergrowth, and without undergrowth there isn't much nibbles for mice, voles, etc. There IS prey but it's a lot harder to find. A lot less plentiful. There couldn't be berry bushes or herbs or brambles– it'd be essentially just trees and a LOT of moss on the rocks. Which doesn't exactly lend itself to prey. I was going for something a little more realistic?
I can change things around tho, if everyone else would like something a little more "fantasy" like. I can have the secondary, smaller stream to run like that over the rocks, which I am agreeable to.

Okay last question before I post everything here, do the sisters receive nine lives or anything for their leadership. I would think not since there's like four of them, but I'm not completely sure.

Hey feather I have a question! Did you make youre layout???
if so then can i use it?? but like change the colors and add my own things to it?? But give you full credit, I understand if you say no.
I've just started to play around with coding and got the basics but i'm still not sure how to make my own yet... like the layout itself.
|
|
|
Post by Featherwing on Jan 4, 2017 16:52:50 GMT -5
Nope, no nine lives because they're just rogues who've organized themselves. No dead cats came down and told them "hey, stop fighting one another. As a reward for organizing yourselves, your leaders will get nine lives" blah blah blah like in the Clan lore.
Legit the sisters were probably like "we'll we've got the room. Lets invite Squirrel and Minnow– we can assume that if Night comes, so will Sun. Buck and Falcon might whine until they get to live here too so add them to the list... but if they stay they have to work. Make Sun and Minnow defend stuff... Nigh and Squirrel are good at hunting. Falcon has a fantastic memory and Buck.... well, leave the injured to him." Sometimes a nice rogue comes along and they're like "Well you seem trustworthy, come and stay with us if you're willing to put in the work"
