π¨π°ππ₯π¦π― π΄πΆπ― (Here! :3) "It's happened before, a one man jailbreak," Lucifer said simply "Who did it though was probably thrice your size, and then some." When Percy explained the plan was never to cross, his brows bent. Seriously? He was about to speak, but Percy had continued, speaking of little Barry, who giggled and continued playing with his brother's fingers. Lucifer nodded, saying "I was. He is my little brother, and I am in charge of watching him today." Head tilting, he went silent for a moment, and decided "You think I'm some sort of traitor?" It couldn't have been Barry alone that drew Percy over.
Sighing, Lucie allowed Barachiel to examine his hair, speaking near casually to Perseus "Well, you saw your friend, and she's alive. now get out. I don't need more punishment because of your slip up. If you're seen and caught alone, it won't be associated with me and it'll all be on you. And hurry, so you won't be near here if or when you're caught." He gestured with his head toward the exit, frowning slightly at the young man before him. Lucifer found himself adding "Again, you're lucky that I'm the first one you talked to. Anyone else would turn you in or try to kill you, because they're humans." After that, he managed the tiniest smile. However, it disappeared when he heard voices. Coming closer. Probably hunters bringing something in. Looking around, he considered hiding Perseus somewhere, but eventually thought against it, and only watched as they came in, two brutes lugging in a mummy bigger than the both of them. One of them looked over, questioning "Who's that, Lucifer? I thought all the recruits came in?"

( great, thank you! )
"Well, yeah," Percy replied, inclining his head. "What was I supposed to think?" He didn't know himself. The other had explained away his presence with the fact that the man who ran it was his father. He himself was clearly at least part monster, but Percy didn't know if he'd chosen this in spite of that or if he simply couldn't leave. And what of his father then, who had children with a monster? Was he a traitor, here, or was that not how it worked?
He had a lot of questions to ask, but he never got the chance. Two large men walked in, carrying a subdued monster between them. Perseus had to keep the anger welling up inside his stomach from reaching his face, smoothing his brow before his frown began to deepen. He could feel his insides burning, but the moment these men saw it he'd be dead where he stood. He glanced to Lucifer, who he trusted only marginally more than these other hunters, wondering if he was supposed to offer an explanation or if that fell to the other boy.

π¨π°ππ₯π¦π― π΄πΆπ―"A straggler, Brutus," Lucifer said simply "The idiot got here late." He only looked away when Barry yanked on his hair a little, silently scolding the giggling baby. The two other men stared Percy down for a moment before the mummy started to stir. They blinked before hurrying to get it to cage. No one really wanted to be around one of that size when it was awake. It had the strength to literally rip you in half without even trying. Brutus and his partner used long raged weapons to subdue it. While they were busy, Lucifer herded Perseus out of the door, before they were noticed. Once they were a good distance away, Lucifer slowed his pace and looked around. Grumbling as Barry gummed on his ear, he spoke "I don't get to leave, without being brought back. My father makes sure of it. Threatens to hunt me. And I never leave without being told because I know it's true. Humans are brutes like that. And my father was no different, just like my mother always told me." Bribing Barachiel with more candy, Lucifer thought for a moment before continuing "I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you, but I already started, so oh well. In case you haven't realized. My father was a human, and my mother was a Krampus. How they even made me is unknown to my knowledge, and I'd like it to stay that way. Anyway, when my father saw I wasn't entirely human, as there was that possibility, he pretty much rejected me. Didn't start playing the awesome father role until I was eight, when he wanted me to start hunter training." "My mother didn't like it, and would start hogging me," Lucifer recalled with a small laugh "Said that a creature shouldn't hunt its own. And, I agreed. It went on like this, the tug-of-war game between my parents, until my mother grew heavy with Barachiel." The baby giggled some more at the sound of his name. Lucie smiled over at him, and went on "My mother's "mama bear" instincts doubled, and she flat out refused that our father come near us if he had the intention to show us something about hunting. She told me that "it wasn't what was best for you two" every time I asked. When Barry was six months old, we were at a park while my father was out hunting. We were both watching Barry crawl for the first time. So focused that we didn't notice anything sneaking up on us. Barry nearly got killed, but my mother jumped in front of him. Took a tentacle right through her stomach. If she hadn't, she probably would've had the energy to win. I couldn't help because I never got any actual training, and would just get in the way if I tried. Turns out though, my father was hunting these things, and caught up, but my mother had... already passed." "And now, my father says I can't leave because if I leave, I'll turn into something evil," Lucie remembered "And that he won't hesitate to hunt me. Or Barry. When he's old enough though, I promise myself, I'm leaving. With him. Yet, lately, I've just been considering taking the risk and leaving even though he's so young. Lots of humans and creatures take care of babies on their own." Lucifer looked almost sad, the idea of leaving at all unappealing to him. He had to though. His mother was right. Hunting your own was wrong.

Perseus didn't interrupt once, though he felt the urge to on several occasions. Instead he listened carefully, trying to make sense of this all. He was confused still, but the question he found himself wanting answered was, why is he explaining himself? Was it that important to be viewed as something more than a traitor by a random monster who'd illegally entered your grounds? It didn't really matter, he'd gotten his answer. Regardless of whether he believed it or not (and he saw no reason for Lucifer to lie to him, so he thought that he might) he'd gotten an explanation.
He sighed, looking down at the child in the other boy's arms. He found himself oddly fond of the kid, despite never having seen him until less than an hour ago. "Would he actually?" he asked, sounding weighed down by this new information. "Hunt you both, I mean." He couldn't imagine anyone wanting to hurt Barry, much less his own father. Then again, humans could be just as monstrous as monsters.
It sounded deep and pretentious, but it wasn't really. It was a fact of life that any monster learned early through stories or experience. Beware of humans, they're no better than us no matter how much they like to pretend. The number of times he'd heard it said was ridiculous, but recently, he was starting to believe it.
"I'm Perseus," he said, holding out a hand tentatively. Maybe giving his name was stupid, but he figured that he'd be dead already if the other intended to kill him. And besides, he felt as if he owed him information now that he'd been given an explanation. It wasn't much, but a name was a start.

π¨π°ππ₯π¦π― π΄πΆπ― (Sorry for not being around, and sorry for the short post! I don't think I could've replied at all if it wasn't short, because my mom is cracking the whip so close to Christmas ;_;)
"Humans are a doomed race because they refuse to open up others," Lucifer said simply "Yes, my father really would hunt us both. Heed probably have some sicko come kill little Barry though." His sad look was noticeable as he looked at Barry, who snuggled back into Lucie's chest to fall asleep. Just letting him, Lucifer continued "Maybe that's why monsters and humans butt heads. If you actually pay attention, which race spills more blood for fun, hm?" Sometimes, the monsters were the more educated ones, or at least that was what his mother said. Lucifer never stopped believing her.
And then Perseus gave his name. Lucifer blinked, looking down at his extended hand. It took a moment before his own hand extended, and shook Percy's. A smile formed on his face, and he said "Get going. Maybe we'll even be so graced as to come across each other again." And with that, he turned to leave, adding "And please don't get killed on your way out. Barry will probably sense it and set his crying to double time. He knows how to drop some serious tears." Barry probably couldn't sense such things, but his little brother was weird as you know what sometimes. Plus, Lucifer noticed Barachiel seemed to instantly like Percy. That meant something, right? If babies liked you, then you were a good person? Or if monster babies liked you, then you were a good monster? If that made sense? Maybe it wouldn't hurt for Lucifer and Perseus to cross paths again, hopefully on better grounds.
(It's shorter than I expected, but that's because there's not much to do x3 Perhaps we can invoke a time skip? A short one?)

( sorry for the long wait, Christmas has taken up most of my time. and yeah, a time-skip sounds great. where to, do you think? )
Percy had to agree with that. Not all humans were awful people, nor were all monsters awful creatures, but humans seemed more willing to accept wrong doings when they were committed by other humans. He sighed, shaking the others hand before drawing his back with a nod. "I'll do my best," he replied as Lucifer turned and walked away. He stayed there for another minute or so before he turned and left, too.
He'd accomplished the goals he'd set when he came here. But Julianne wasn't the monster on his mind as he walked away from the compound and back through the city to get to his home. No, it was Barry and Lucifer and their situation that he reflected upon. He was already fond of the child and hoped that he, and his brother by extention, might get away sooner rather than later.

π¨π°ππ₯π¦π― π΄πΆπ― (Here, but it's short ;_;) A few days had passed, and Lucifer couldn't help but keep thinking about that little "episode" frequently since then. Yet, it was said and done, and nothing changed too much. The past few days were actually a little boring. All he'd done was go on a werewolf hunt, and continue to babysit. However, he finally got a "free day", and was allowed to go nosing around the city with some friends. A little hesitation was involved though, because Barachiel got fussy when Lucifer left him with another babysitter. Still, it happened though, with the help of bribing Barry with a gigantic bag of Haribo Gummy Bears.
That day, Lucifer and three other hunters his age were out walking to a place they liked to hang out. A small diner owned by a husband-and-wife hunter duo. Even when it was super busy, Gordon and Marie (the owners) always let them play cutsies in the lines. So now, the group of four were sitting at a booth, talking about whatever. Past hunts, school, gossip. Lucifer snorted when a close friend of his, Gilbert, started babbling about the "dirty secrets" of those they went to school with. Lucifer could only comment opinions, as he didn't go to public school. His father homeschooled him whenever. Wrinkling his nose, he briefly tuned out to see someone walking out of the diner. A vampire. Unfortunately, hunters didn't hunt in public areas for a number of reasons. The vampire snickered at Lucifer and his friends, who all noticed the glint of fangs before the creature was gone. Gilbert rolled his eyes, saying "We'll get her eventually. I think I've seen her around before. Shouldn't bee too hard to find." They all nodded in agreement, just as a waiter came to get their drink orders. It took longer than needed though, because Gilbert saw fit in flirting with the smaller guy. Poor thing was blushing bright red by the time he left.
"You're so desperate," Lucifer told Gilbert, causing the two other guys there, Norman and Travis, to snicker "You sounded like a friggin perv." Gilbert rolled his eyes, saying "At least I know how to flirt. You couldn't to save your ass. Remember when you came to my fifteenth birthday party?" Lucifer punched Gilbert in the arm, yet all four guys started laughing. It was nice, Lucifer thought, to have friends like these. Even though they knew what he was, they also knew what he was like. He wasn't a vicious beast that ate babies and stepped on puppies. Lucifer was just like any other human male, more or less. He briefly wondered what it would be like to have them as friends, but none of them were hunters, and he wasn't a monster. Not that he'd give his current reality up.

( not to worry! )
Perseus knew his friends, and when they suggested going to a hunter-owned diner just to mess with them, he knew that no matter what he said they'd end up going. They'd done it before, young monsters seemed to enjoy doing whatever they could to taunt hunters. Percy had never understood it. Surely revealing yourself was dangerous? But they argued that they could just cast a glamour to change their appearance, pretend to be another species of monster and nobody would be any the wiser. So, that's what had happened.
Today, they were posing as a group of werewolves. It was an easy disguise to pull off - make yourself appear hairier and add some fangs and you're done. They'd changed their overall appearance, too, of course. Peyton, who'd changed her hair to a deep auburn for the occasion, pushed the diner door open, gesturing for Percy and Oliver to walk in first. They did so, Oliver shoving Percy, now dark-haired and softer in general appearance, with his shoulder as he said something. Assuming it to be a joke, though he hadn't paid much attention, he laughed, earning him a grin.
Peyton sauntered up to join them, picking out a booth to sit in. The three settled down, and it was only then that Percy realised who was sitting two booths down. Lucifer, joined by three others he could only assume to be hunters. He reminded himself that he looked nothing like he had a few days ago, but he was clearly already on edge.
Some time passed before a flustered waiter walked up to them, asking for their drinks order. Peyton, who despite being the lowest ranking Tathilian at the table had taken it upon herself to speak for them today, gave their usual one. The man nodded and walked away. Peyton turned back to the two guys, flashing her fangs and looking pleased.
"God, Pey, I know you suggested it but you don't have to be so over the top about this whole thing," Oliver commented and Percy couldn't help but agree.

π¨π°ππ₯π¦π― π΄πΆπ― "Hey, look over there," Norman said, nudging Gilbert with his shoulder "Look at- Gilbert! Stop drooling over the waiter!" He slapped the bigger guy over the head, just as Travis and Lucifer turned to where Norman had pointed. Turns out, some hairy folk had just seated themselves. Yet, hunters could tell that they weren't human. Lucifer blinked once. They cleared the city of werewolves just last night. That usually warded off others looking to move in. Norman was about to get up, reaching for his gun under the trench coat he'd been wearing for the colder weather (it was Winter after all), but Gilbert yanked him back down. The sandy haired guy said "What the hell, Norm? No hunting in public! Look at all these people!" Norman huffed, but sat back down, just as the same waiter came back with their drinks, ready to take their order. Finally, after Gilbert said something rather dirty to the blushing waiter, everyone was able to place their order. Norman, Travis and Gilbert got actual meals, while Lucifer ordered a bunch of desserts. Krampus couldn't eat anything but sweets and human flesh. The waiter scurried off to the people two booths away.
Lucifer had to do a doubletake. One of them looked rather familiar. After a moment of staring, he realized it was Perseus. That mook from the other day! Lucifer never saw him here. Ever, and Lucifer was a dedicated customer at the diner, called G and M's. It was weird, and he could only assume those other two with him were the same species. Lucifer looked away when Norman got up again, but Lucie whisper-hissed "They aren't werewolves! They're worse!" Norman glanced down at Lucifer, and held his hand out. The creature blinked his blue eyes, glancing as Gilbert sighed "Just give it, Lucie. It'll be good to scare 'em off." Lucifer grumbled, but quickly handed over his Colt Python, which had blessed bullets to kill anything, before anyone noticed. The bullets themselves were famous among hunters and monsters, having been created and crafted since Colt models came out. An unknown hunter took favor of the models and began making such bullets.
Norman was about to walk over, hiding the gun under his coat, when Travis got up to join him. Sometimes rogue werewolves didn't care about being in public. Lucifer remembered when it appeared in the news, a man attacked by a pack of large dogs. The footage said otherwise took, to any hunter who had seen a werewolf. Anyway, Norman and Travis had walked over to the other booth, Norman saying to the three new arrivals "One would think it best to keep a low profile. Especially that mess right there." He glanced at Peyton for a second before turning to look at all of them. Honestly, what he said didn't give anything away at all. Lucifer and Gilbert waited for their friends to come back. God, he hoped Norman didn't start any fighting. The last time that happened, with some mean as f*** leprechauns, it barely kept from the papers. Gilbert leaned over the table, whispering "What are they? Should we go over there?" Lucifer shook his head, answering "I forgot the name, but no we don't need to go over. If they're coming here so... um... openly, then they must know that this place has a mess of hunters regularly." Gilbert hesitated, but nodded and then sat back in his seat. Lucifer looked back at his two friends, but mostly Percy. He honestly thought he wouldn't see him again so soon. A part of Lucifer hoped that Percy and his buddies didn't start trouble either. He didn't want anyone getting hurt today. It wasn't necessary. Sighing, he turned away to look down at their table, trying to just wait quietly for their food for as long as he could.

Percy was keeping his attention on the group of hunters, realising that Lucifer, who'd gotten more than a glancing look at him just a few days ago, had likely recognised him. If he had, he'd know that he was not a werewolf. Damn it. He should have taken the time to change his features more. Give himself a hooked nose or something, that always threw people off. He muttered a long string of curses. He was distracted enough for the others to notice, frowning at him.
"I get that you have the most at stake here, but cool it, yeah?" Peyton said opposite him. She was right, he did have most at stake. He had rank on both of them, and in here that wasn't a good thing. Still, she was right. If he got anxious he'd draw attention to himself. He didn't want to, attention meant that people saw more of him and the little things he never changed, like the five freckles on his cheeks, the tiny scar under his chin or the birthmark just below his hairline. Those were things that he could be identified by. As long as people didn't pay him any mind, they'd never notice. But as soon as people started staring, they'd start to stare.
"Yeah, yeah," he replied. The others frowned but decided to shrug it off, returning to their conversation.
"So," Peyton began, excitedly. "How obvious do we want to be?" Oliver rolled his eyes. "You've already shown your fangs to half the diner - no, they're not impressive - I don't know how much more obvious you want to get." Peyton seemed offended, but all three of them knew Oliver was right in his assumption that she'd comment something about how good a job she'd done on her fangs. She always did. "But I want to fight some people today," she whined. "No," Percy said firmly. "Absolutely not. We're doing perfectly well, thank you, I don't need you stirring up trouble with the hunters, and neither does anyone else."
However, it seemed that Peyton wasn't interested in listening because she stood up. She grinned down at them, exposing her fake fangs again. "Too bad, princeling," she mouthed silently, before turning to walk in the direction he'd been glancing ever since they sat down.

"Too bad, princeling," she mouthed silently, before turning to look up at them. "I'm afraid I've no idea what low profile means," she replied, earning two eye rolls from her companions. Yeah, you don't say. She smiled again, not bothering to hide her fangs, though at least she had the decency not to grin at them both like a maniac.
Percy sighed. "She really doesn't. But I don't want trouble, and neither does she." He fixed her with a look and it was her turn to roll her eyes. "Sure I don't." He raised an eyebrow and she turned back to the hunters. "Fine, I don't," she grumbled. here we are, messed with the last paragraph to change it back to how it should be. again, all my fault, there's a reason people sleep at night.
