Eclipsesky flicked his gaze towards Silverspirit, staring at her for a long moment as he tried to gauge if there was any regret or bitterness beneath her statement. "Thank you. I try to be the best for the clan." he mewed quietly, his own regret flickering in his eyes. "I'm not as good as Berrywatcher though, I will never surpass him."
Wolfstep purred, grinning at Hazelear. "Nice catch!"

Ashsong looked at her mouse and flicked her tail, "It's alright. Come on, I'll help you find something to catch. Maybe we can find some rabbits." she said, burying the mouse and scenting the air. Thorndash's mood lifted ever so slightly, knowing that he would not have to hunt alone. He nodded once, moving to pad closer to her. He licked his muzzle and sighed. "Rabbit would be wonderful, for all of us. They had to have run out of the tunnels somewhere..."

Silverspirit smiled. "I'm sure Berrywatcher is proud of you." she said softly, raising her eyes to meet his. "You've been through so much and helped the clan through some crazy things."

"Will the tunnels be alright?" Juniperkit demanded, before she fretted, clearly an anxious little kit. "What if we can't become apprentices, and we'll be forced to be moor-runners!" She exclaimed.
Blacktail's eyes grew light with realization and assurance as he shook his head firmly. "Splashstone, Furyflame and Jasmineheart care for you as if you were their littermate. In their eyes, I'm sure they think that you lost a mother too. I...understand though, it must be difficult to have a sense of kinship in two different clans. I am sure your siblings in Thunderclan worry for you, as you worry for them."

((I'm not sorry I will hog them forever xD )) Frostpetal gave her mate a lick "I'm sure he's scared and embarrassed enough my love, you getting mad at him won't help make that any better." Swiftstar flicked his tail. "And you are endangering the rest of my tunnelers by doing so." he said, growing frustrated. Whether the frustration was with himself or Dashclaw, he wasn't sure, but it was there, and growing. Between the fire, losing his daughter, losing a life, and almost losing another one, he felt exhausted. "What am I supposed to do? Just accept the fact that he's making a fool of himself in those tunnels? He's humiliating what it means to be a tunneler?" Harewhisker huffed in annoyance. "I..." Dashclaw frowned at him. "Swiftstar, what happened today won't happen again. I'm not giving up on being a tunneler."

Eclipsesky turned his head up towards the sky, hoping Silverspirit was right about Berrywatcher. "We've lived through a tornado, and a fire. What else can possibly be thrown at us?'
Wolfstep twitched his whiskers moving towards Hazelear, "We should bury it and keep hunting. Birchstep you scent anything?"
Sagefoot tried to hold back a chuckle, "Tunneling has been an ancient art in Windclan for many many moons Juniperkit. A fire will not stop us from continuing. Yes, the tunnels will be damaged but we will build them right back up again. Your apprenticeship will be fine."

Sunstep nodded, shifting his paws again. "I know...it's been so long since I felt out of place here, but now?....I don't know" he sighed.
Frostpetal nodded. "I know, but Birchstep isn't a rabbit-brain, neither is Swiftstar. If they think he's an embarrassment to the clan I'm sure one of them will do something about it." She licked her mate again, trying to calm him.
Swiftstar nodded, letting out a long breath. "No. It won't happen again. I'm not letting this continue. I allowed you to train as a tunneler, but this experiment has gone far enough and is now putting your clanmates at risk. From this day forward, you will continue your duties in this clan as a moor runner."

Silverspirit sighed. "Maybe the whole forest will be cut down and we'll have to move entirely." she said shaking her head. "It's really StarClan's guess as to what on earth we'll live through." she smiled slightly.

Harewhisker sighed and leaned against her. "I wish they would do something about it."
"What?!" Dashclaw stood up in utter disbelief. "Swiftstar, you can't do that!"

Silverspirit got those time traveling abilities )
Eclipsesky snorted, starting to let his guard down once more. "You really think the twolegs would have that much power to get rid of the whole forest? I'd like to see that!". He sighed, staring at her once more. She was too much for him, kind, funny, inviting. He couldn't help himself, he should be staying far away from her, but here he was once more sitting just a little to close to the she-cat. Berrywatcher may be proud of my medicine cat skills, but oh he'd be so disappointed in me for falling in love

"...I guess that's true." Juniperkit calmed down a bit at her mother's assuring words. She loved how fearless her parents seemed, how they always seemed to know everything would be okay. They were both so calm and strong, and she hoped to be like them one day. "I want to be the best tunneler I can, for you!"
"Oh, Sunstep." Blacktail murmured lightly, hating to see his apprentice conflicted like this. It was always a wretched feeling, to be torn in two directions. He touched his muzzle calmingly to the younger tom's forehead for a moment, before he assured. "You will always be a warrior of Windclan. That much, you have proven. But not I, nor any cat can dictate what you feel or need for your own sense of identity. Why do you feel conflicted, so suddenly? Because of this fire?" He guessed.

Ashsong nodded in agreement, "This is higher ground, so a lot of prey might have taken refuge here." she said, nodding in the direction of some prey she scented.

((Silverspirit sees all )) Frostpetal purred. "It's not your place love. If Swiftstar wants to give Dashclaw a chance at tunneling there's not much you can do about it. Just be thankful you're not his mentor." Her eyes flicked over to Dashclaw as he jumped to his feet. It seemed their conversation was not going well. Swiftstar kept his gaze and tone steady. "Dashclaw if I can make you a tunnelers apprentice, I can certainly undo it. I gave you a chance, and I know you've done your best, but I can't allow this to continue." He rose to his paws, signaling the end of the conversation. "I'm sorry Dashclaw, I know this means a lot to you, but I have to keep the whole clan in mind." Silverspirit smiled softly and glanced away from Eclipsesky, her pelt pricking with electricity as it brushed against the medicine cat. "S-so you said Stagpaw was in shock? What happened?" she was desperate to continue the conversation, to give her a reason to stay. Sunstep nodded. "I feels like I should be with my family during this fire....but it also feels like I have two families entirely." He sighed. "It's just frustrating."

Harewhisker shook his head, but he blinked when he followed Frostpetal's gaze back to his brother. Dashclaw's pelt was standing up. Whatever they were talking about, it wasn't sitting well with Dashclaw. Dashclaw bared his teeth. "Are you really sorry? You have no idea how much this means to me! This is the only way I can honor my father, Swiftstar, you can't take this away from me! Not after how hard I worked!"

Frostpetal watched Dashclaw and Swiftstar talking, wincing when Dashclaw bared his teeth. "He's really upset Harewhisker....I hope everything's okay..." her voice grew quiet and she curled her tail uncomfortably.
Swiftstar remained calm, despite his pelt wanting to rise. He forced it flat and forced a level tone. "I am sorry Dashclaw, whether you believe me or not, but my decision is final." Flicking his tail, he turned and began to pad away from the angry tom.

The swift tom moved after the scent, glancing back to make sure that Ashsong was with him as he sought out the prey. The smell of smoke was light in the air, though it brought a sense of distress to the tom...Nettlefrost's body was still out there. He looked distracted for a moment.

Above all, you are not to blame for feeling this way." The deputy assured.

He forced it flat and forced a level tone. "I am sorry Dashclaw, whether you believe me or not, but my decision is final." Flicking his tail, he turned and began to pad away from the angry tom. Harewhisker squinted at his brother's reaction. He had never seen Dashclaw get so upset before. The tom was always more laid back about everything. "I wonder what Swiftstar said." Dashclaw's breath quickened with the panic that pierced his heart. This couldn't be happening. Swiftstar couldn't be taking this choice away from him! How was he supposed to make Rabbitdash proud now? The old tunneler was probably laughing at him from StarClan, scoffing that his son couldn't measure up to what it took it to be a tunneler. Dashclaw lashed his tail and looked right after Swiftstar. "Some leader you are!" He shouted out of anger. "You just give up on your warriors! But you always favored moor-runners over tunnelers anyway, didn't you?!"

Sunstep nodded. "You're right." he sighed. "I just didn't want them to feel like I was intruding on their family business." HE glanced through the camp, tyring to locate his foster siblings.
Silverspirit turned to Stagpaw. "Poor Stagpaw" she murmured "And Cheetahheart didn't make it out of the fire...he's lost a mentor too." She shook her head softly "This fire is ruining everything."
Frostpetal shook her head wordlessly, he ears flicking with surprise when Dashclaw started yelling. "Do...do you think Harewhisker made him a moor runner again?" She asked, trying to piece together what was happening.
Swiftstar spun around, tail lashing. "I give up on my warriors?! I lost my daughter in those tunnels. She tried to find safety in the tunnels and they collapsed on her, crushing her in front of me!" emotions that had been bubbling below the surface seemed to spill over, grief, anger, frustration. Swiftstar's pelt pricked as they swirled in a uncomfortable and unidentifiable mess. "The same would have happened to you if it weren't for Harewhisker. I'm not giving up on you Dashclaw, I'm protecting you. I talked to your mentor, a tunneler and we agreed that you're not fit to be underground. I'm not about to let you throw your life away for a glory trip!"

"I think Dashclaw would've been thrilled if that were the case." Harewhisker twitched his whiskers, but grew quiet at the shouting occurring between the leader and Dashclaw. He actually felt worried for his brother. Dashclaw never got upset like this before and Harewhisker would've have been surprised if Dashclaw pushed Swiftstar too hard that he'd come to regret it.
Dashclaw grit his teeth and flattened his ears when Swiftstar whipped around on him. The back of his mind told him to yield, to just give up and give in, he was miserable anyway. Yet, foolish pride drowned out those warnings. "Glory trip?! I don't give a rabbit's tail about glory! I just to honor my father since I've never been able to before! I don't need protecting! I need to prove myself!"

Blacktail nodded lightly, about to speak, only to pause as the sounds of Swiftstar and Dashclaw’s quarrel filled his ears. The older tom flicked his tail with concern, mewing to Sunstep. “Perhaps...we all need some sort of calamity. Tensions are clearly rising...”
Grasslight pushed through her clanmates, having heard Dashclaw had returned. She looked quickly for her mate, stopping as she spotted him across the camp, seeming to be speaking with Swiftstar.

Frostpetal shrank away from the yelling coming from the two toms. "Should....should we do something?" she whispered. The yelling was making her nervous. She tucked her tail over her belly protectively and pressed closer to her mate.
Trying to keep himself from lashing out too much, Swiftstar forced his fur flat....or at least he tried with average success. "Dashclaw, I'm done talking about this." he said "My decision is final and as a warrior of WindClan, moor-runner or tunneler, your duty is to the warrior code and to me." his tail flicked as he spoke and he tried to keep an even tone, but there was a warning in his voice. "Your father should be proud of you for contributing to the clan and being a warrior that the clan can be proud of. If he has a problem with you being a moor-runner, then that's his problem, not yours."

Harewhisker puffed his fur out, unease of what was going on crawling on his pelt like ants. He wanted to get up and do something before Dashclaw made a huge mistake, but he didn't want to interfere with Swiftstar and get on the leader's bad side.
Dashclaw scoffed. "You clearly didn't know my father. What do you want me to do? Just forsake my family, my lineage?"

Frostpetal pressed against her mate, feeling uncomfortable. So much had happened with the fire, but did they really need to do this right here?
Swiftstar flicked his ear. "I want you to put your personal feelings aside and do what's best for the clan, and what's best for you. Not what's best for your father."

Harewhisker licked her ear a couple time in attempt to comfort her, but his tail flicked with quiet anger for his brother. How could Dashclaw be so foolish?!
Dashclaw grit his teeth once more, biting back another remark. Swiftstar clearly didn't understand what Dashclaw had been through or put Rabbitdash through for that matter. He had to make it up all his mistakes, but Swiftstar wasn't going to let him sit here and argue about it. The warrior code said the leader's word is law and if he went against that, he just make things worse for himself. Dashclaw snorted and bitterly looked away from Swiftstar, not say anything. Great, Dashclaw thought with a bit of self-loathing. I'm not good enough for my father now I'm not good enough to be a tunneler. What else will I not be good enough for?

Frostpetal watched as Swiftstar moved away from Dashclaw, She felt bad for the tom, but didn't know if she should help, or if she could. Glancing at Harewhisker, she could tell her mate was mad at his brother, and she didn't want to push him.
Swiftstar flicked his ear and turned away from Dashclaw, coughing as he did so. Emotions still raged beneath his pelt and he took a deep breath as he glanced around. Several members of the clan were eyeing the two of them and his ears flicked in irritation. Had he handled himself like a leader should? What if Dashclaw was right? Was he fit to lead the clan? Forcing himself to keep his head high and fur down, he padded away from Dashclaw and towards the mouth of Highstones.
