Sandstripe nodded slowly. She didn't fully believe him, but he sounded convincing enough; maybe she had just been projecting onto him. "Thank you for what you did, even if it didn't work out," she said. Without another word, she stood up and left the injured tom alone to sleep, going to her own nest. She laid herself down and curled into a tight ball. She wondered if she would ever really fall asleep.
- - Thunderheart
Thunderheart flicked his ear and approached her slowly. He bowed his head and sat down, as if the movement was painful for him--he was getting older, and the fox encounter hadn't helped. "Listen, Dewfern, I . . ." he frowned and kept his gaze downward, "I couldn't help but overhear you and Stoneheart earlier. Are you really okay?"

Dewfern nodded slowly. "Yeah. Don't worry," she lied. Nothing her dad had said was okay with her, but she couldn't deal with it right now. It was too much for night. Besides, she thought. I'm not sure what could be done about this. Stoneheart was a stubborn cat. At least he had that bit of him back.

((I intended for her to be kind of a good person but also I really like writing villains so, whoops))
- - Thunderheart
Thunderheart looked at her sadly. He had been on the receiving end of Stoneheart's temper many times, but he had learned to brush it off as a symptom of his stress--he knew he would probably be the same way, had he taken on the role of King like he was originally supposed to. Still, he had never seen Stoneheart raise his voice at Dewfern, and he felt for her deeply. For that reason, he decided to pretend he hadn't noticed her sneaking out.
"Don't worry," he said, forcing a kind, light-hearted tone. "He doesn't mean what he said. I've seen it before--he'll accuse you of all sorts of ridiculous things, then come to you the next morning and ask for forgiveness. Just try not to take what he said to heart, okay? . . . Because none of it was true." He looked at his feet, silent for a moment, then bade her goodnight and left her alone to rest, telling himself that things would be better in the morning.

In the last few minutes before she fell asleep, she felt Thunderheart's words sink in. Hopefully, uncle. But I can't help but feel some of it was from a prepared speech he had made or something... She pondered over this for a moment after she wished him goodnight. She felt herself once again drift off into a dream-filled sleep.

((Everyone read this please !! Thank u
So my thoughts on where we go from here--In the "morning" Stoneheart will ingest the poison and come close to death. He will narrowly survive, but he will be very sick and fully incapable of doing his job. Thunderheart's going to get Angry and try to accuse Lighttail and Maplefall of poisoning his herbs, since they were the ones who talked to him about the rumors regarding Stoneheart the day before (unless you don't want Maplefall involved in it, Peppermint, in which case he'll just go after Lighttail).
This will cause a big scene in the garden that everyone can be involved in, and from that point onward we're going to start handing the fate of this over to you guys: Thunderheart is going to to be upset and trying to take his brother's place, but he's an even weaker leader than depressed Stoneheart, and Dewfern is going to be shocked and scared. It will be a time for disloyal cats to plan and attempt overthrowing the royal family, and it will be an opportunity for the loyal cats to stick up for them and try to support Dewfern so that she can become the next true leader.
So like....if this roleplay were a book, we'd be coming to the end of the prologue here. I'm excited to move forward with this and I encourage you all to get involved with each other in this. My characters will be behaving more like NPCs from here on out, and you're the main characters. If you want to be here for the big scene in the garden, let me know when you'd be available and I'll try to make it happen at a time that works for everyone.
It's long but man. I have a lot of feelings.......................))

((ok serious answer is it depends on how he chooses to handle it--like if he tries to finish Stoneheart off, probably disloyal. If he just tries to support putting Dewfern in the position of power, then he'd be loyal purely because he's helping the royal family go on. But Stoneheart wouldn't like it, not one bit no sir))

(I'm excited for this. I hope I can make my characters more interesting and get them involved more. I think I'm going to have Archclaw get more and more disloyal to the royal family as the roleplay progresses, but might help Dewfern in case he needs a backup plan, and he really has nothing against her, even if he might thinks someone new should take over. He could always be loyal to Dewfern though. I guess I'll have to see where things go.
I'll try to be here for the big scene in the garden. Any time would probably work for me so.)
