(Honestly, I have no idea. I'm a writer, so. Sometimes I just have the oddest ideas come from no where.)
Pulling the warm, thick blanket over the both of them, Nero tucked Alcaeus snuggle against his chest and rested a hand on the back of his head, tucked protectively under the gods chin. Smiling tiredly, the white-haired deity let his almond shaped, violet eyes drift shut, his hold secure on Alcaeus as he also slipped into a deep, peaceful sleep, warm against Alcaeus.
~~~~
Nero's eyes flickered open the next morning, golden dawn-light filtering through the diamond walls dilutedly. The god quickly willed the walls to darken, and the light dimmed. As a divinity, Nero was far more sensitive to light - he knew that Alcaeus would sleep for a bit longer. Gently untangling himself from the human without waking him, Nero pulled the covered back over the bare man. Nero brushed his hand along his tributes cheek softly before glancing over at the massive bathing basin. With a quick nod, steamy-warm water filled the entire thing, scented faintly with oils from peach skins. Nero carefuly laid back next to the human, his hand gently gliding over his arm.
"Wake up, my pet," he said softly, willing just a tiny sliver of magic into his humans mind. It slowly brought him into the waking world, peacefully, then melted away as Nero brushed his hand against Alcaeus' cheek softly. "Come with me, kitten," Nero said fondly, gently guiding Alcaeus into the warm water of the basin with him, letting the huma lean against his chest tiredly. The god wrapped an arm securly around Alcaeus' waist, pulling him near in the warm water.
Alcaeus had been having a fond dream, but he couldn't quite remember what it had been about when he'd awoken, his whole body aching and his neck hurting from the treatment of the night before. He'd winced as he'd sat up, and then flushed deeply through his sleepiness at the nickname 'kitten', feeling a weird jolt in him that said he liked it. Strange. He hesitantly joined Nero in the bath, his shyness returned to him; it slowly dissipated enough for him to enjoy the healing properties the water was having on his body, sighing softly with relief as his aches were soothed by the warmth of the tub. He felt comfortable already in the crook of Nero's arm, and was discovering that he was secretly enjoying being cared for the way that he was. He'd worked his whole life from childhood, to earn the meagrest of coin and to beg for food for survive, but he'd made it- he vaguely wondered if the people whom had offered him realised they'd done him a kindness. He took this time of relaxation to properly take in his surroundings, feeling great curiosity at the diamond walls, which were the grandest things he'd ever seen in his life- he'd never seen so much wealth culminated in one place.
Nero pressed a gentle kiss into Alcaeus' hair, his gaze following his pets to gaze at the wall. Feeling the humans curiosity, Nero simply smiled and shifted so that Alcaeus' back to to his chest. Using a bowl-like object, Nero scooped warm water from the basin and let it run through his pets hair, using a smidge of magic to prevent it from rolling into his eyes. "Diamond is something we have no lack of here, in the immortal world. We build with it easily, and for a reason. Watch for just a few moments, you'll see."
The god smiled as she poured a bit of liquid soap into his hand from a glass bottle, smelling faintly of apricot and pear. Lathering it into Alcaeus' hair, Nero took great lengths to be gentle - slowly brushing through the soapy strands with a brush equally gently, taking care not to pull. As he worked the tangle from the humans hair, the sunrise really hit the diamond. Pinks, reds, purples and blue shattered, scattering brilliant through the diamond like glitter in space. Hypnotizingly beautiful - yet Nero never looked away from Alcaeus. Setting the brush down on the dry edge, the divinity rinsed the soap from the humans hair with the same bowl. "The light is different every day - you will find it has the most beautiful patterns at night, with the stars so near us."
Alcaeus flinched at first as the water was poured over his head, but he relaxed once he realised Nero was protecting his eyes. 'See?' He mumbled, focusing more on the wall, curiosity piqued more. His eyelids fell slightly, feeling peaceful as he was cleaned by the god, feeling a weird sense of irony; shouldn't it be he taking care of Nero? He breathed in sharply and his eyes widened as the lights filtered through the room, barely able to tear his gaze away from the beautiful light-show, his icy-blue eyes light enough to reflect the colours. He tipped back his head slightly as Nero tipped the bowl over him again, listening intently. 'How close?' He breathed, turning to look up at the god with eyes full of awe and wonder.
Nero smiled gently down at the human, brushed his knuckles along the others cheek softly. "Close enough to feel like one could reach up and take one from the sky like a brilliant diamond. Rainbow streaks of light will cross over the sparks in the navy sky, the moon will feel like a friend smiling from a balcony just an arms reach above you." He shifted his eyes to the light patterns shifting over the humans damp skin, creating shades of multiple colores over his neck and cheek. "So close that you feel like flying," He summed up desicively, giving Alcaeus a gentle kiss to finish his thoughts before tracing the curve of his neck with a gentle touch of his hand.
Alcaeus leaned into his hand as he brushed his cheek, then gazed up into the gods eyes as he spoke to him. When he was finished, the humans lips twitched, and he released a sweet laugh. 'You should be a poet instead of a god.' He cheekily joked, sweeping a wet strand of hair from his face. He shivered slightly as his neck was stroked, as it was still sensitive and sore.
Nero's lips quirked into a smile, brushing a few fingers over a dark bruise-like love bite on Alcaeus' neck. "I was a poet once, when i was human," He said quietly, his voice soft as he ran his hands through the humans damp hair gently. "I was the god of language and stories before I was the god of creation for your world. I could string stories from words that meant nothing, and I suppose the language stuck with me through the millennia."
The light dancing through the diamond shifted to a pearly gold as the pure sunlight screamed in. The light struck liquid copper over Neros starch white hair, his violet eyes brightening with the sunlight. "You have such lovely eyes," The words slippe fromthe gods mouth absentmindedly, cupping the humans cheek with one hand. "I do hope that you will feel more comfortable - comfortable enough to raise your eyes more often."
He didn't know it was possible to become a god from being mortal, it seemed too surreal; even with the place he was in right now. He vaguely wondered what he might be the god of if he'd ever become one- probably something silly, like figs. When the light spilled over Nero he found himself unable to look away from the magnificence of his beauty. He blushed deeply at the compliment and lowered his gaze, before slowly lifting it again to meet the gods at his final words. 'If it will please you.' He softly said, feeling a shiver of nerves run through him.
"I was once much like you, my pet. Shy with men but practically a half-god in the lights of a colosseum - except for me, it wasn't the dance that erased my doubt. Perhaps that was why I, too, was once a tribute. I could take a word that meant nothing and transform it into a world of grandeur and magic." He let his hand slide down Alcaeus' chest a bit to brush over his stomach, somehow innocent in the intimate actions. "The god I was gifted to wasn't kind - I was gifted as a slave rather than a companion. However, I had taught myself some magic of the gods - and I used my words to escape my prisons." He rose his hand from the peach-scented water, turning his palm to the ceiling. Hieroglyphs flowed from the skin like tiny threads of silver light, transforming and swirling.
Lowering his hand and arm back into the water, Nero wrapped both arms around the humans waist and kissed down his neck softly. "Good lad," He praised with a pleased hum, nuzzling the humans neck ever-so-softly.
He listened with bright eyes and an intense gaze, barely flinching anymore at Nero's touches and caresses; he seemed to welcome them the more they happened. Alcaeus began to know himself lucky to have been given to Nero, and not the kind of God that Nero himself had been given to. He breathed in softly as he watched the Heiroglyphs, wanting to reach out and touch them; he restrained himself with difficulty. He tilted his head to allow Nero to kiss him, resisting the urge to purr with pleasure. He pulled away from the god and moved across the tub, turning to face him. His face red, he shyly looked down and not at his face. 'Would you like me to dance for you?' He asked, gently moving a piece of hair from his face.
(Good god, I was about to say the same for Alcaeus! I'm glad Nero is appealing x3 )
Nero's eyes sparkled with pleasure as Alcaeus drifted away and asked this question. It seems that this human was quickly developing into his role as pet and concubine, and Nero was sure that he himself was also growing an attatchment for the young boy. "If you are comfortable, my kitten," He purred, angling his body to face the mortal. The warm water evaporating was clinging onto the golds caramel skin and dampening his hair - his appearance was one of sensuality, even if he simple focused on Alcaeus casually. "If you wish to leave the basin and dry for clothing beforehand, you are more than welcome," he purred.
(Aaaa really?<3) Alcaeus blushed deeply at the nickname, again feeling an intense pleasure for it. 'I'll get dry.' He stood and ran a hand through his hair, slowly stepping out of the tub and allowing the water to run off him, droplets sparkling multicoloured in the lights that shone through the diamond walls. It lit up his skin and danced across his eyes as he glanced back at him. 'I'll need a towel.' He coyly grinned, 'and dancing silks.' He was glad he could do at least this for the god- it was, after all, what he'd been sent here for- to look beautiful, and to entertain.
Nero lifted a hand with a slight smirk, a towel unfurling from no where and multiple colors of silks twisting from oblivion to drape over the closet door. The gods violet eyes sparking hungrily as he glanced over the humans beautiful body, the tip of his tongue tracing his lower lip slowly. Another slight wave of hand, and a few shimmers of the air; "State the music you wish, it will play." Nero's voice was tinged with hunger, even if not sexual. This was far more innocent - simple excitement to see his pets' talent. However, he did advert his eyes as the human dried and dressed - the hunger had the potential to turn sexual, and Nero did not want to ruin this moment with his own actions.
Alcaeus took the towel and began to slowly rub it over is skin, discreetly keeping watch of Nero from the corner of his eye. He felt a flutter in his stomach as the god licked his lip, and at the hunger in his eyes. Feeling more flustered than before he finished drying his body, then gently rubbed it over his long locks of hair. He smoothed it back so it wouldn't fall in his face, then moved behind the closet door so Nero couldn't see him until he stepped out. A silk sash that would drape over his shoulders; sheer silk, tied at his wrists and biceps by golden bangles; more bangles at his ankles, attached to loosely hanging harem-trousers, tied low on his hips, low enough to be a tease. Lastly were the scarf that he would wrap over his hair and around his neck, and the veil which hung over his nose and covered his lips and throat from the god- this was the main thing that gave Alcaeus his confidence during dancing. If they could not see his face, they would focus only on the fluidity of his graceful movements. Barefoot his steps were silent as he re-emerged from the door, eyelashes lowered, gaze focused on Nero. He quietly stated the music that he wished to dance to; a smooth and gentle tune to begin with, accompanied by softly tinkling bells and led by the strum of the tablah. He slid his feet with precision as he began to dance, toes poised. He raised his hands and they flowed elegantly in time to the music above his head, before he dipped and span to allow the silks to flare around his body. His hips never stilled as the music picked up its pace, utter relaxation in his body and love in his eyes for his talent. ((I've loosely based this on belly dancing etc))
Sorry! I am here, i am here!)
Nero watched with a half-hidden awe, one elbow resting against the edge of the tub and keeping his head supported. The music was an unusual choice, but it seemed to fir the humans dance perfectly. The awe could only be half-contained, Nero's eyes locked on Alcaeus' movements with an amazing dazzle. Soon, when the music had ended and Alcaeus' body graced to a stop, he was silent for a moment, awed. Then he blinked and cleared his throat, shifting. "That was amazing... truly beautiful. A gorgeous talent, my pet. Thank you for showing me." Such high praise was rare from the god, but Nero knew that Alcaeus deserved this and more.
He stood from the perch he had, emerging from the water. The peach scented liquid dried quickly - the god pulled um a loose shirt and a pair of leather riding pants before - finally - hooking an arm around Alcaeus' waist and kissing him passionately. "My lovely kitten," He purred into Alcaeus' ear, running one hand through the humans hair with an owner-like caress
"My lovely kitten," He purred into Alcaeus' ear, running one hand through the humans hair with an owner-like caress ((Hello ^.^ how are you?)) Alcaeus lifted his gaze as he finished dancing, slowly catching his breath. His eyes were intense and confident and had lost any ounce of the shyness he usually carried. He smiled beneath the veil at the gods praise, heart glittering with pride. He lifted his silks to produce something between a curtesy and a bow; a graceful action which suited him, and then removed his veil. He watched in silence as Nero emerged from the tub, carefully keeping his gaze focused on the males face. He patiently waited for Nero to reach him- closed his eyes and returned the kiss with gentle submission and an arch of his back against Nero's body. A shiver crawled over his skin at the name once again; he wasn't sure he'd ever get over how much he enjoyed it. 'You need only ask in future and I will provide.' He murmured, meeting Nero's gaze now unfalteringly, the dancing had provided him with confidence in his own abilities.
(Zombie-ish. How about you?)
"Thank you, my pet," Nero purred almost seductively, placing a kiss on the humans neck. Once he pulled away, his eyes practically glowed with pride - his tribute was the perfect companion for the god. "I know you are hungry," He said, his lips tilting upwards teasingly, "especially after last night." He smiled coyly as his stomach flipped slightly at the memory. "Lets find some food down in the kitchens - my siblings have been begging to meet you. Here," The gods hand flicked at his side - the dancing silks were traded for a warmer, more comfortable set of clothing. "Come."
A moment later, the gods arm around Alcaeus' waist possessively, he showed the human towards the kitchens. The entire castle was built from diamond and silver - he went slow as to let his companion marvel at the sight. Once they reached the kitchen, the diamond walls were throwing blue-hinted light of daytime. "Shii, hello," Nero said, and a woman looked away from the stove she brought to life. Her hair was also starch-white, put into a lovely crown of braids. "Nero! Hello! And this must be your companion. Hello, I'm Shii. I'd shake your hand, but..." She rose her tan hands - her palms were glowing with heart. Her tone and dialect was strange, very... short. "I am the goddess of the future. Yeah, It's real' weird to see automobiles and fifties' diners, but dude - great recipes. There's professional chefs, Nero. Pro-fresh-on-al, Nero."
The male god looked blank, his violet eyes absolutely lost. Shii finally calmed herself, letting out a slow breath and sending a loose white hair fluttering. "I am sorry. I have been looking far into the future, brother. Their dialect is strange but somehow coherent. Anyways - Alcaeus, yes? What's your favorite morning food? Or should I say.... Morning-after?"
"Shii!""
((Same tbh))
Alcaeus wore a very amused expression at this woman's babbling. He didn't understand a word of it, but she seemed so into it that she'd almost caught him up in her excitement. He shook his head when she calmed down, then blushed deeply at her comment on the 'morning after' food. 'I don't mind much what I eat.' He mumbled, his coyness swiftly returning to him, dropping his eyes to the floor. 'Anything will do.' Eager to not have to look at her, he instead took the time to examine his new surroundings, curious about the place he now lived. He'd loved the place as they had made their way down, but was starting to feel a little embarrassed that he was awestruck at everything he saw. He felt childish, and wasn't sure that was the state he wanted to be perceived in.
"Oh come now, Nero. Surely you figured i would know!" "That's not the point, Shii." "But you saw this coming." "Shii, please -" "How was it?" "Shii!" "What?! I am your eldest sister - i deserve to know!" "You're five minutes elder of myself." "Still older, brother." "Look into the future. What do you see?" "You coming to me with a knife." "If you wish to change that future, then please stop talking."
Shii looked extremely amused, and she sent a playfully wink to Alcaeus. "Your deity and I banter as such, near;y every day. Just let me know if it bothers you, sweetheart. I hope you don't mind traditional greek food - that is where Nero and I were born, millenia ago. Here," She smiled and slid a plate across the table-like counter to Alcaeus. It had a nice portion of the light, sweet/savory crepe-like breakfast of greece. "If you prefer something else, please don't be afraid to ask. You'd be doing me a favor, I love my kitchen."
Nero was still by Alcaeus, but had dropped his face in his hands to hide sis exasperated expressoin. His twin smacked his arm with a wood spoon, making him hiss in surprise and step back. "Manners at my table, Mr. Creating!" She hissed, her stunningly gray eyes narrowed at her twin brother. Nero gave her a dull look. "Shii, we are multi-millenia old. Should we not have a bit more respect for-"
"Nah." Shii said before he even finished.
He eventually gave up and resorted to ignoring the two of them, nibbling quietly on the food that shii had given him. He jumped as Nero was hit by the spoon, and his gaze immediately turned to one of concern as he examined where it had connected to ensure he wasn't hurt.' Once he was sure he was fine, he relaxed and continued to eat, already missing his dancing. He'd slid with ease into his role and had severely enjoyed performing for Nero, had gained confidence through his own graceful movements. He closed his eyes, remembering the largest stage he'd ever stood on, sighing softly as he remembered his standing ovation and the looks of awe and want in his audiences eyes. He spooned another mouthful of food past his lips and turned to look out of the window at the clouds, still feeling his usual loving tug at their appearance, but no longer his enamoured curiosity.
Shii hit her twin with the spoon many times after the first - each with a different scold, like an angry grandmother. "Shii, please! I did nothing!" Nero sighed, rubbing his face and turning to glare at his sister, who fumed at his side. He looked totoaslly lost at this moment, quite a hilarious expression to see on the all-powerful god. "I will not! You still-" And with that, came her ranting once more, her voice too fast for anyone to understand.
Finally, Nero broke. "Shii, sister, I love you dearly, but please silence yourself." With a flick of his hand, Shii was whirled around andpforced into the other room. A round of laughter from several different helpers of the kitchen as she grumbled, getting back to work by slicing a piece of meat into thin strips. "I am sorry about Shii," Nero said quietly, standing next to Alcaeus and running his knuckles along the humans cheek gently, affectionately. "She is... quite the wild one. Did you have something on your mind, kitten?" Nero asked, seeing the thoughtful look on Alcaeus' face.
He jumped a little as Shii was finally removed, and leaned into Nero's hand with something akin to a purr. 'I was just remembering the time I danced for the King.' He quietly said, 'and the standing ovation I received.' He smiled up at Nero. 'Will I meet many other gods and goddesses, or am I to remain here?' He blinked up at him slowly. Alcaeus was definitely curious again, and wasn't sure he wanted to spend all of his time within the castle.
((Sorry it's short))
"You are free to roam anywhere you would like and to speak to anyone - although, i'd prefer if you veered away from the god of desire. He has a nasty habit of convincing people into bed," Nero slid a possessive arm around Alcaeus, protectively. "I watched you dance, my pet. It was beautiful, and the king was so very impressed," Nero said, tucking the human against his side once he was finished with his food. "If you'd like, we can explore the close grounds - it's better to venture further out after you get used to the strange concepts near by."
Placing a warm kiss to the top of Alcaeus' head, Nero guided the human with a hand low on his back, possessive and firm. "I'll show you the stables today, and let you greet the pegasi. Most are gentle, but some are a bit tempermental. If you're lucky, perhaps one with become rather attatched," Nero's eyes twinkled slightly - he already knew which Pegasi would bond with Lacaeus. A beautiful mare, snowy white with ash-gray splotches and wings to match. She was lovely, shy - but Nero knew the humans and she would click well.
A beautiful mare, snowy white with ash-gray splotches and wings to match. She was lovely, shy - but Nero knew the humans and she would click well. Alcaeus laughed softly. 'I highly doubt he'd manage to lure me in.' He said, trying to ignore the fact he was enjoying the possessiveness of Nero. He comfortably leaned on Nero's side and blinked up at him through his lashes as he listened, lips twisting into a wide smile. 'Pegusi?' He asked; he'd only ever seen one in his lifetime, and it had been ridden by a demigod on a quest. Alcaeus had cried, for his desire to be in the skies with them, tumbling and falling and gliding- had been utterly overwhelming to his younger self. He shook it off and focused on the fact he was actually going to see some, and found himself excited again. He wasn't sure he could think of a time in the last two days up here that he hadn't been excited as of yet... other than being asleep. He then frowned. 'Pegusi accompany gods and Demigods, not humans.' He said, looking up at Nero again, simply reciting what he'd been taught his whole life. 'Why would any of them like me?' It, of course, went the same for any mythological creature; humans were supposed to stay far, far away; one, in case they were injured, or two: in case they corrupted it.
