A good amount of them are illiterate, but I wouldn't know if they were dyslexic until they started learning to read.

Sten has a pair of ear gauges. He saw a stranger with some and became fascinated with the concept of body piercing, so his caretaker got him a pair as a gift.

Bella's first tattoo was of a shell on her forearm. She'll tell you that it's in reference to growing up by the sea, which she did, but really she had just turned eighteen and wanted a tattoo. A sea shell seemed simple enough so she went for it.
