Okay, more moder tie then cause like 90% of my rping right now is in older times and I need to spice things up.
Alrighty second one it is! I'm down for either human or vampire. And I'm most likely going to have a female character and just kinda wing it from there.

Dope!! I'm down, I'm gonna go with a generic understanding of vampires for my human then, and you can flesh it out to whatever truths you'd like homedawg. Erin could feel the moisture from the sandy beach below her seep into the fabric of her jeans. She was sitting in the darkness, a black blanket wrapped around her to keep her warm. The half moon was the only source of light, giving her weak eyes a mild understanding of the landscape around her. Crabs would walk by ever so often as little black blobs, but what really stood out was the reflection of the water and it's sound- The whole reason she was down here in the first place. That black blanket served as another purpose, to keep her hidden from the cops that would drive by every hour or two searching for trouble on the beach. This time of year was especially bad for her town, as they had a strict curfew for everyone now. Not long after dark, everyone was expected to be inside. After that and you could consider yourself dead, along with the twenty or so people that had been found around the town, their life literally sucked out of them. Each one suffered from complete blood loss, but not a single drop was to be found at the crime scene. A murmur of vampires began to stir around the social spots, and especially in her small group of friends who seemed to love the dark and mythical idea of vampires. Erin wasn't worried, or more that she wasn't scared. Breathing in the salty nighttime air, and listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean was more important to her than even her life. It was calming and that's all she wanted.

(rip i almost passed out on this)
(just going off the basics, heightened senses and speed/strength, cold as ice, but can go out in sunlight (bad sunburns if out for too long tho), has that classic aversion to holy items)
Sterling was madly hungry. His ravenous appetite clawed angrily at the emptiness of his stomach, and as his nose caught that delicious whiff of a foolish human out during the dead hours of the night hit his tongue Sterling almost let out a howl of pure happiness, he seemed to have picked up the scent of his dinner. Or breakfast. Whichever way you wanted to think about it. But as to not worry his prey, he kept his mouth firmly shut, and began moving quickly through the brush lining the beach where the scent was leading him, his long and lean body flitting in and out of the grass almost faster than the eye could see. With every step the vampire took he was growing hungrier and hungrier, and he could not wait to plunge his teeth into whoever this was - smelled like a younger female to him - and finally have a good meal. All of the other vampires (well, there weren't that many, only like one or two others) had been stealing Sterling's food and in his opinion, 'overhunting' the humans here. The humans were starting to grow suspicious of what the hell was going on, and that was never good, as the vampire's food supply would quickly pack their stuff up and get out. The rumours would spread around the place, and then the only people this town would attract would be wannabe paranormal investigators looking for something. Actually, most of them were idiots, and an easy catch, but after they're gone there's gonna be nobody left. Or maybe that was Sterling just overthinking things.
His firey red eyes seemed to glow in the moonlit night and long and sharp fangs dug deeply into his bottom lip as he caught sight of his feast, and he was right. It was a younger-looking female, one that Sterling had no doubt was a pushover for someone like him. Staying under the cover of the bushes and making sure his basic black band t-shirt and black jeans combo didn't make too much noise against the grains of the plants around him, he carefully flit between bushes as silently as he possibly could. He didn't want to scare off one of the only humans he's seen out at night as of late, no, that would be bad for sure.

The wind pushed strands of her black hair to tickle her face, forcing her to grab push all of her hair into a ponytail- revealing two large shaded portions of her head, nearly bald. They froze with the cold wind, but it was almost a comforting feeling. Mixing the heat from her blanket with the cold of her face and head. She was calm in this moment, but a noise broke her meditation. She turned her head quickly behind her, towards the bush where she thought she heard a noise. Maybe it was just her imagination. It was so subtle it could have been the rumors and troubles of the town getting to her. It was extremely dark at the beach, the nearest light sitting at least a quarter of a mile away. There was no way for her to even know if there was something there either way. She glanced up towards the street. No cop car. No one walking the streets at night. Possibly it was a lizard, or maybe a crab making his way a little higher up the beach than he expected. She couldn't be too sure, but the thought of something being there she couldn't possibly know what of frightened her a bit. She wasn't normally this way, and the beach had been a safe haven for years. A uncomfortable feeling was crawling up her spine. She stood up, covering her palms in the gritty wet sand on the way up. It stuck to her blanket as she wrapped it around her tighter like a shawl. "Maybe it's time to go home." She whispered to herself, her green eyes stayed transfixed upon the bushes for a moment. The tingle in her spine stopping her from moving, or maybe it was the chilling air. Either way all she could focus on was the bush and her breath fogging up in front of her as her boots stayed cemented in the sand.

Sterling could see the reflections of the moonlight reflecting in her worried green eyes, and he made himself freeze up. He didn't dare make a move. He could tell he was making the other uncomfortable, and maybe the feeling of being watched was nagging at the back of her mind... sh/t. Whatever she was feeling, it didn't really matter to the vampire, because he needed to move quick if he truly wanted to get his meal in. Wasn't like he was going to find anyone in the daytime, no, that was usually junkies in the back alley (which tasted disgusting by the way because of all the crap in their systems) or some idiots who weren't even worth his time.
But suddenly, Sterling's icy cold breath shuddered to a sudden halt (not that he needed to breathe, it was more of a habit than a necessity) as he could hear the low rumble of a cop car slowly making their way down the beachside road, and he swore his eyes widened to the size of saucers as he could almost feel the headlights encroaching upon him. He knew this damn thing would blow his cover if he didn't act fast enough, to which he almost didn't. He was a deer caught in the headlights for a moment there, before quickly ducking down before the copper could notice anything. He could feel the headlights gloss over his back as he saw the car slow down for a moment there, before Sterling could breath a sigh of sweet relief from his short burst of nervousness as he could see in the rear-view mirror the cop just shake his tired head and continue on with his rounds, not noticing the girl sat out on the beach. All he had to worry about now was his feast, and if she saw him, which Sterling hoped she didn't.

Her heart jumped up into her throat, beating a mile a minute as the cop lights ran through the bushes. She quickly ducked herself, shielding her sensitive eyes from the blinding light. The part of her filled with fear wanted to stop the cop, ask him or her to take Erin home where she would be safe. Most of her knew that it would get her in more trouble that it was worth. Being tied down by an anklet would be a party stopper for sure. The noises in the bush rang in her ears once again. It only furthered her point. She needed to get home fast. Her apartment was only a few blocks down the street, but she needed to pass the bushes to get towards the town. Impossible. Something was there and she didn't want to find out what it was. There was a moment of thought before she began to slowly make her way down the beach, towards the nearest light. It would be easier to walk up from there. It was light enough to leave no surprises. She reached in her jean pockets to find the pocket knife she kept on her when she went out at night, just in case, and flipped it open. Her thick boots stopped in the sand, leaving a nice train behind her.

Crap. That word echoed through his mind like the drums of a dying heartbeat under his very fingertips, although it didn't excite and satisfy him as much. It just solidified the thought that if he was going to eat, he needed to do so quickly, and that thought also bounced around in his slightly nervous mind as he continued to move between the bushes lining the soft sands of the beach, not caring at all about the sand getting in between the toes in his boots, as silently as he could possibly be. He could see the light up ahead in dazzling detail, and could tell that she was going towards it. It was typical human behaviour, go towards the light and you'll be safe from the ones that lurk in the shadows. Hey, Sterling was once human as well, he knew these things. So he just decided to follow her towards it, and maybe just pop out and grab her. Yeah, that's not that bad. He decided to just go with that, and think about the rest of the plan later.

Erin neared the light, the nervous tension in her body lowering slightly. Light made everything safer. Easier to see. Her sense were more attuned her, at least as good as they would be. She lightly touched the pole with her fingers, feeling the icy metal burn her prints. She didn't need to stay here for too long. Home was her objective and she needed to get there. Safety. She was like an animal, trying to cross a river to safety against a predator she hadn't even seen yet. Only her intuition told her it was there. Her head turned towards the city, light posts glowing behind the stairs and bush leading up to the shopping district streets. almost there she thought to herself, breathing out a sigh of relief as she picked up her pace, now running towards the stairs. Her knife swung back and forth beside her.

(oh wait i dont think i mentioned just a kind of reference to how sterling looks he kinda looks like revenge mikey way bc im trash)
Although he could see the pocketknife held in her hand, Sterling knew that that wouldn't be too much of a problem. Yeah, it'd hurt if she stabbed him, but he'd heal up quite quickly. Sterling lay in wait as she neared the light pole, and when her fingers brushed up against it that's when he put on a burst of pure speed to make sure he;d get to her before she got away. His legs moved faster than any human legs should be able to ago, his arms pumping at his sides as he let out a cat-like growl, wet tongue swiping across his lips, and the next thing he knew he had his hand over the girl's mouth and the other gripping at the hand with the knife, and soon he was dragging her back, out of the light and back into the bushes, with the inhuman strength he had acquired. "You're coming with me." He said with a low, growly voice into her ear as he roughly dragged her back out of the safety of the warm light streaming from the lightpost, smiling like a damn lunatic, long fangs on full show as his eyes gleamed a scarlet red. He was excited, that was for sure.

Erin's eyes flew open, her body jerked for a moment before realizing she didn't have the power to counter her attacker's movements. His strength was something she has never felt before. Her mouth was clasp shut, but that didn't stop her from letting out the loudest scream she could. It rattled her throat but only stayed there. Her ears began to ring from the force she had put into her voice. She had no option but to go limp in his arms, something she had been taught as a young teenager to do with anyone that grabbed her. This didn't stop her moving further and further away from the light. Her mind raced with half finished options of what she could do, all of them ending in failure. Tears welled up, blurring the light into an amalgam of yellows, blues, and darkness. It was then it seemed that her mind had shut down and gone into auto pilot. It was if she wasn't looking at anything, but everything at the same time. Her body began to trash yet again, using her legs to attempt to kick behind her. She let go of the knife, her body understanding it wasn't a good idea to hold onto anymore. It would be of no use if it was in the hand of the enemy. It would only further their attempts at hurting her. She continued to scream, thrash around causing her hair to begin to slip out of it's hair tie. Strand by strand, her black hair began to fall around her face, soaking up the tears and snot that began to run down her cheeks.

Sterling continued to use more and more of his inhuman strength to subdue the thrashing girl, dragging her into the safety of the darkness that surrounded the two as ideas whirled around his hunger-crazed mind. Jesus Christ, it took everything within the vampire to prevent himself from jumping on this girl already, because she smelled so good... he couldn't wait to dig in. But he had to get a good point on where her artery was in her neck, which was not going to happen if her head was thrashing around and he was getting kicked and elbowed, which did hurt a lot by the way. Letting out a growl, he managed to throw her down onto the beachy sand, not waiting a single moment before pouncing on her, hands roughly shoving her head out of the way and holding her mouth close so she couldn't scream as his tongue worked to find the artery pounding through her neck, carrying the life-giving, oh-so-Heavenly substance flowing through it. But he was still getting kicked and elbowed, which caused him to pause for a moment as he let out a grunt. "Oh, stop that!" He barked at her, intense red eyes staring straight into her own teary ones.

Her wild eyes stared directly into his only for a moment, long enough to realize their inhuman color- something she would remember forever if she ever lived past this moment. She didn't take too long, as a single second of lost action could have meant her life or at least her decency which was her first thought from his attack. His tongue felt cold against her neck, prickling her skin into little bumps. It wasn't welcome and began to make her feel nauseous. Wth her heart in her throat, it felt like that would be the first thing she would throw up. It would at least end this suffering. She wouldn't have to be fighting a battle she had no belief in herself that she could win. She would try though. She tried to pry her mouth open the slightest bit, enough to find some of the guy's skin between her teeth. She chomped down with no regard to safety, hard enough to draw blood. The iron taste just tickling the end of her tongue. (If they don't bleed then like yeah omit that) She had no other way out, her body was stuck against the cold, wet sand beneath her. He had her pinned down good, even though their body size wasn't all that far off from each other. It made no sense for him to have such an easy time holding her down- like he picked up elephants for a living. This was the reality she was in.

("he picked up elephants for a living" i laughed too hard at this)
Sterling let out a cat-like hiss as he felt pain shoot through his hand, and send an angry glare her way. She just messed with the wrong person, he had thought then, and then decided it was time to stop the useless chit-chat (not really but Sterling didn't really care) and gave into his ravenous hunger, quickly bending down and sinking his fangs into her neck. He let out a deep and low groan as the metallic and lovely taste of the fresh blood flowed so freely into his mouth, and his grip on the girl only got harsher and harsher as more of the Heavenly liquid filled up his hungry mouth and satisfied his growling monster of a stomach. This felt good. After being deprived for so long this felt amazing, to be finally satisfied. Suffice to say he almost let himself go at that moment, wanting to run her dry until every last drop was downed, and he was so lost in this taste that graced his tongue that he didn't notice the deep rumbling of another cop car piercing the air. The cop had heard the muffled screams from down the street and was coming to investigate, which should have alerted Sterling but it didn't trigger anything within him.

( lolol I think Sterling should apply )
Erin's body tenses up, her back arching against the paint rushing in from her neck. Her eyes rolled as she succumbed to the beast's nature. The only thing she could see was a bright light flitting in and out of her vision as her eyes did a wild dance in her head. It slowly began to fade, growing duller as the seconds went on. It felt like an hour had gone by before the pain started to numb and her mind began to go blank. Her muffled screams slowly faded to a low pitched yelp before stopping completely. Her back no long arched in the same way, and all her muscled began to relax. Maybe this was the bright light people spoke about when you died. This would be the end. A stupid decision to break the rules from her angsty nature and need for relaxation or consistency in her life. In the end it's all her fault.

Sterling smiled against her neck as he started to calm down now, the feeling over power of this dying girl running through him. But suddenly, the rumbling finally caught his attention, and he let out a string of curse words as he quickly lapped up the extra blood around the wound, causing it to heal somewhat as he looked towards the direction of the copper. Growling menacingly as he stopped it in the distance, and could see the cop's concerned face even in this light, he placed a hand over the puncture wounds in the girl's neck and with a turn of emotions, threw a glance at the girl, telling her all she needed to know before putting on a burst of speed and with a blink of an eye he had disappeared. ]

Lol hey, would you care to continue at a different time/location? ;]
Erin tightened her scarf around her neck, causing a burning sensation to run through the skin on her neck. She had a bandage on the spot where she was attacked, but no real wound underneath. There were only a couple small marks left over. It was something she, nor the doctors, could explain. If it wasn't for the policeman that came to her rescue, they probably wouldn't have believed she was attacked in the first place. At first, they though she had just suffered from a psychotic break or an overdose of a drug. That didn't explain the bag of blood she had to get transfused into her system, but they still didn't care. They pushed her out the door after getting the key to their money, ensuring the policeman came down on her for being out past the curfew. Of course he was strict, but also kind as he understood the fear she must have gone through. He explained to her that this wasn't the time to be out at night, and this type of stuff was what they were trying to prevent. Erin listened with numb ears. She continued her way down the street, storming out of the school campus as fast as she could. This wasn't the time for her to be surrounded by a lot of people. It made her nervous. Her throat would clench and she found herself gasping for breath whenever she had to carve through a large crowd. The only place she knew that was just empty enough to be comfortable, but not alone without protection like she would be at home was the public library. She was determined to do some research on her attack.

(this is fine!)
Sterling carefully walked down the street towards the library, keen on seeing if they had any new comics in. When he wasn't in full on vampire mode, he was quite the different person, really. He was almost like a nerd, with the glasses perched on his nose, the love for comics and video games, and the sort of lanky look about him. Although, you'd never be able to tell from the amount of clothing he was wearing to protect himself from the sun. It wasn't like he was going to burst into flames if the rays touched his skin or follow any of what the myths and legends say, because really they've all blown this classic aversion to the sun way out of proportion. Of course Sterling and other vampires could go out in sunlight, but it normally resulted in very bad sunburn-like injuries, which were very painful and made it so that going out in the sun wasn't really worth it which every vampire could agree with.
Long sleeves cascaded down his long arms right down to the wrist, where black gloves took over his hands which were being wrung in wariness as he carefully avoided crowds of people coming from the schools. He was wearing a heavy black hoodie covering whatever his t-shirt missed, the hood hanging over his softer, yet still predatory amber eyes and protecting them, and the lower half of his face as well (Due to carefully done shadowing) from the horrors of the sun. Black jeans hugged his skinny legs, right down to taller black boots. Anyone else would be pouring down with sweat in this type of clothing, with all of this black on, but because of his icy cold body Sterling didn't mind at all. Why he preferred black over every other colour on a sunny day, it sucked all of the heat in and was like a nice blanket wrapped around him, even thought his body no longer produced heat.

Erin slipped through the library doors, teeth clenched as she eyed her way through rows and rows of books. She grabbed the first one of interest, a vampire mythos title, and slipped towards the back of the building. It was deadly quiet as she placed herself on a Long couch against the wall. Her eyes began to scan the pages. Speed, Strength, and a lust for blood. These words were written again and again. Her heart began to race, recalling her incident. His nearly glowing red eyes, and how incredibly strong he was. Not to mention the pain. She rubbed her hand against her bandage, looking at the picture of 'actual vampiric markings' left over from 'feedings' that resembled her own. It couldn't be true. She told herself again and again, each time believing herself less. She was entranced in herself and this book too much to focus on her surroundings.
[ Sorry that took longer than expected ]

(nah it's fine)
Sterling entered the library, a smile overcoming his features as he smelled the timeless scent of old books, only enhanced by his enhanced sense of smell. He could finally sort of take his hood off, his thicker golden brown hair would help with the stray rays of sunlight streaming through the windows of the near quiet library. He still, however, kept alert for any prickling sensations on his face, that would mean he would have to quickly cover up before he would start to blister and burn in the sunlight. But luckily there weren't that many windows in the comic book section, which he made a beeline for, so he wouldn't have to be too cautious. Although he was careful.
But, in his short walk towards the comic sections, he smelled something... familiar. This made him stop mid-stride, because yeah, he recognized the scents of people but this particular one was... mixed with whiffs of his own. This was particularly weird, so he decided to investigate slightly, as this scent was so fresh and so familiar in his mind he just had to know what it was. So, he found himself outside the aisle of mythology, staring at a girl with a vampire book in her hand as she sat on one of the overstuffed couches. It was then that it finally clicked in his mind, this was the girl from last night. The one he had for a meal. He could smell it. He could see the marks he had made on her neck peeking out from beneath her scarf, and that made his eyes widen as he quickly skirted away, not wanting the girl to recognize him, as there was already rumors that another so-called vampire attack had been reported to the police last night. F/ck, I should have killed her! He cursed at himself in his mind as he jogged over to the comic section and just made himself a home in there, trying to lose himself in the panels and panels of Batman before long.

Erin's eyes darted past her book at a figure moving quickly between the isles. Her heart began to beat the same way it did at her attack. It sat more painfully in her throat. Her mind began to panic, the figure seeming too familiar for comfort, but her body started to move. She set the book down beside her. She slowly picked herself up off the couch, hand resting on her bandage under her scarf. It seemed to burn at the beat of her heart, on and off like a radar. Her boots lightly touched the carpet flooring, as to not cause too much attention. It was a stinted walk, awkward and honestly hard to watch. She almost held her breath as she turned the shelves to find a boy standing in all black in the comic book section.
