Alright give me just a second to make a couple paragraphs about my kingdom, its affairs, and the royal family. I won't get too detailed, just stuff your character would likely have some kind of prior knowledge of.

Dreisten is a cold northern kingdom known for its mountains and tundras, as well as the vast ice fields formed over the sea in the winter. The kingdom is located on a peninsula, surrounded on three sides by water and sharing its only border with the kingdom Vasmenia to its north and east. Due to being surrounded by water, one might think that Dreisten therefore would be a sea-based kingdom, but this is not the case. The kingdom is surprisingly agricultural, though it primarily herds and ranches, as opposed to growing crops. Its inhabitants tend to migrate because of their herds, and so there are few major, permanent cities in Dreisten. In the winter, many people travel to different kingdoms to sell their wares, often traveling on dog sled across the frozen gulf to the kingdoms it connects with. Others tend to either hole up in the cities or spend the winters working in the mountain mines. Because of this, ores and gems are far more abundant in Dreisten than other kingdoms, and even many peasants have items made with semi-precious stones and metals. Wintercraft items from Dreisten also tend to be fairly valuable, due to the fact that entire families will generally spend the entire winter working on one or two items, which they often sell in the spring. Each item, therefore, is entirely unique and made with the utmost care. The last notable thing about the kingdom is its warriors. Due to the fact that it is in the open with few geographical defenses and no nearby allies, the entire shore and border of Dreisten is heavily fortified. This, and the prevalence of predators in the mountains and tundra who will prey on travelers, ranches, and their herds, nearly every citizen, male or female, trains with some kind of weapon from a young age.
On to the royal family. Dreisten has been ruled by the Mistmane family for the past several generations. Currently, it is under the rule of King Nothri Mistmane and his wife, Queen Asa. The king and queen have three children: Calin (23), Arun (19), and Ivona (16). Calin has already begun to make a name for himself, having entered the Dreisten military at 20, but the other two remain relatively unknown, though Ivona is renowned for being quite beautiful. When the war started and the king and queen became concerned about the possibility of civil war, Arun and Ivona were sent to a far away kingdom for protection, but Calin decided to remain behind despite his parents' wishes and being the heir to the throne.
Sorry for the long first paragraph lol. These things come way to easily to me so I end up cramming in way more detail than necessary.

Ohh it looks good. Here's mine, though it doesn't have nearly as much detail as yours ^^;
The Phiryn Kingdom is a neutral kingdom based in the forests of Rahst. They are known for their skill in techniques of stillness and information gathering. Despite being well known the kingdom is small in numbers. Their communication system is one which only they use. Falcons and hawks are bred and trained for this. They have a strong homing sense and are able to follow the sound of a bell from hundreds of miles away. By following these bells they are able to move information across the lands faster then any horseback rider or boat would. The people of Phiryn are very careful of which wars and kingdoms they help. No matter which they choose to participate in, they are always neutral. From their forests comes herbs, fruits, and many different kinds of animals. They export this for their main income. Archery is a popular sport in their country and those of high skill are found there. Their territory is made mostly of incredibly large trees. Their leaves can be used as makeshift bandages and other items from the fibers. The weather in their territory is warm and humid. The weather gives the trees the chance to grow so large.
The Ailtu family is head of the kingdom. Their current head is Lord and King Gerolt and Queen Malie. They have a son, Kija.

Hmm, alright. The kingdom is based in the middle of the forest. It was built on a small hill and can be seen poking out of the trees. The area around it had been cleared out a bit for more homes. But for the most part the homes are either built around the trees or close to the castle. Due to the usually mellow weather some even choose to live in the trees with light protection and hammocks. But like I said they are few in numbers so even the small space cleared around the caste is usually enough. The merchants set up in small carriages. The easiest way to travel is by horseback.)

(ah, so the kingdom only consists of the one city then? Cool, it's very small XD )
A group of horses road through the massive trees, their riders silent as they passed by small cottages and hammock-filled trees. Before them the city walls stood imposing over the canopy, dominated by the towers of the castle.
In the center of the group rode two white-haired children on white horses. At the heels of one trotted a large silver-backed wolf dog, panting in the humidity.
"Winters must be mild here if they can sleep in the open like that," the girl commented to her brother as her gaze passed over another cluster of hammocks. The boy frowned, shrugging his bare shoulders.
"I would think so. Do you think most of these people have ever seen snow?" he asked, looking at the bright foliage of the trees, which looked like they had never seen the bite of frost.
The girl looked almost surprised at the thought. "No, I suppose not. It's strange to imagine." A small smile traced her thin lips. "Imagine going your whole life without ever feeling cold."
"Hmph, I'd rather have that than this heat all the time," the boy grumbled, swatting a mosquito on his shoulder. The two childrens' cloths were made for the cold, and so when it had started to get warm, they had found that even their lightest clothes were too hot. The girl had managed to find a thin, flowing pale blue dress that perfectly matched her pale eyes, while the boy had borrowed a sleeveless tunic from one of their escorts, which bore the color and crest of Phiryn. Normally he would have fussed over his appearance for hours trying to find a way for the loose-fitting and slightly dirty tunic to look flattering on him, but right now he was far too hot to care.
"I do hope it's cooler in the castle," the girl said, looking up as they group passed out of the forest and into the clearing before the city walls.
"If it's not, I swear I'm going to find the deepest, darkest, coolest hole in the forest and stay there until mother sends someone to fetch us," her brother replied. "Poor Agnar looks as though he's about to drop," he added, gesturing to the dog that trailed behind his horse."
"Astrid isn't doing so well either," the girl replied, patting her horse's neck. Sure enough, the mare was panting and her eyes looked tired and glazed.
"It's been a long trip," the prince agreed, looking at his own horse. "I think she and Isi will recover though. Agnar, though, I might have to shave."
The girl let out a light, chirping laugh at this. "Imagine him, bald and chasing deer in the forest."
The boy snorted and started to reply, but then stopped as the group changed course and trotted down a narrow street. The two foreign children looked around with wide eyes, taking in the city, as the group came to a stop before the large gates of the castle.
"I'll escort you inside by foot," said one of the guards, getting off his own horse. "Someone will take your horses to the stable and have them groomed." The two nobles nodded and dismounted as well, and the boy paused before following the guard. He opened his saddlebag and took out a shirt of his own- a fitted black coat that fell near to his ankles- and swung that over his shoulder, quickly clasping the silver buttons. As he made to follow the first guard, Agnar followed at his heels, and the boy gave him an affectionate pat on the head.
"He can come with me as well, I'll be sure to have space made for him," the second guard, still atop his horse, called after him.
"He stays with me," the prince snapped back, perhaps harsher than he intended. The guard looked surprised at his hostility and said nothing more, spurring the horses forward and disappearing around a corner. The children watched their mares leave with sad eyes before turning and following the other man into the castle courtyard.
(sorry for the really long introduction post lol. I think it looks longer than it is because of all the dialogue. Most of my posts won't be this long, the first is always the longest.)

I was thinking they could have smaller towns, but farther apart. That way the falcons could come into play. And true, first posts are long.) WOW they are so pretty. I love it! I'll try and find a picture for Kija)
King Gerolt and Queen Malie sat on their thrones. The queen watched the doors with a trained look, her husband also watched but seemed less concentrated. He had messengers coming up to report of the Prince and Princess' arrival. It had come as a surprise when the Dreisten Kingdom had come to them for help. His kingdom had always been known, but this was a first for them. They specialized in finding info, not watching over another kingdoms royal children. But he was never one to turn down a customer. Malie looked over to him and gently patted his hand "Try and sit still dear." she chided. Her brown hair was cut short and held back by a clip. She was adorned in light gear. Dressed were rarely worn. It was too easy to have them get caught in branches and undergrowth. Instead they wore short cut skirts.
"Where is Kija?" Gerolt asked "I thought I told him to be here."
"I sent a falcon out to the outlook. He should be back soon." Malie replied, a fond smile on her lips.
Like he had heard this comment Kija walked in moments later, a falcon perched on his arm. He was wearing an outfit much like his mothers and fathers. It was made of light material, stained dark to match the trees. Instead of metal armor, he was covered with sparse leather armor padding his shoulders, chest and forearms. It was much too hot to wear anything else. Even if he had grown up here.
"Sorry I'm late." he said, a grin on his face "I got caught up in town." neither of his parents believed him, the grin on his face disproving anything he said "I was told they were here though. I spotted them coming from the outlook."
"I don't see why you weren't here earlier."
The prince rolled his eyes and took his spot beside the thrones. From last he saw them he guessed they would be here within minutes. Their kingdom was small. It didn't take long to get places. He reached up and gently ran his hand down the falcons back. It looked at him then back to the door.
"I want you to be on your best behavior. It can't have been easy for them to make a move like this." his mother said, filling the silence "It would be in your best interest to be polite as you show them around the castle. And remember. Their rooms are in the lower levels. They are used to the cold. This heat must be bothersome."
"Of course." Kija replied. He didn't want them complaining to their parents. A messenger appeared and alerted them. The Prince and Princess were at the castle.

The two northern nobles stopped outside the door to the castle, steeling themselves. Though both had been to nearby kingdoms at different points in their lives, they had always been with their parents, and the focus was almost always entirely on the king and queen, with Arun and Ivona fading into the background. That wasn't the case this time.
Then, Arun pushed open the door. The entrance hall was spacious, far more so than either of the children had expected, and quite open. In the northern kingdoms, rooms were built small and with thick walls, to conserve heat. Here, the room was made the exact opposite.
The pair paused there for a moment before stepping inside. Arun almost had to stop himself from grinning as they stepped out of the sun- it was so much cooler here in the shade. But he maintained a serious expression as he and his sister approached the king and queen. Stopping near the foot of the thrones, Arun bowed deeply, while Ivona gave a polite curtsy.
"Thank you for taking us in," Arun began, nearly stuttering with nervousness. "King Nothri apologizes for the short notice, and not having a prearranged duration for our stay. He hopes that this will help compensate." He pulled a small pouch from his pocket, opening the drawstring and poured its contents into his hand: perhaps thirty or so finely-cut precious gems, as well as a small bar of gold approximately three inches by one, and two silver of the same size. He showed them to the king before putting them back in the pouch and handing it to him. "He says that he will send another bag when we return home safely."

King Gerolt listened to him, expression giving nothing away. When the money was given to him he became much more friendly "It is our pleasure to have you here. I look forward to further interactions between our Kingdoms." he nodded to Malie, then looked to Kija "This is my family. My wife Malie. And my son Kija. Kija will be showing you around, feel free to ask him about anything." snapping his fingers a couple servants appeared from the multiple doors that lead out of the room "You will also have a finely trained unit of our best to serve you."
Once Gerolt had finished his welcome Malie stood and walked towards them. Unlike her husband she had had a kind expression on her face since they had walked in "Welcome. I can understand how hard it must be for a change like this. Worry not, you will be treated as honored guests. And you will get used to the heat." she laughed softly "I came from another kingdom as well, and getting used to the heat was definitely hard to do. But possible."
"We can speak later. You must want to get settled." Gerolt turned to his son and nodded. Kija moved forwards and bowed politely, then moved the falcon from his arm to his shoulder.
"Follow me." his initial study of the two was that they were much like their kingdom. Cold. Their white hair, blue eyes, and light skin were quite striking. He had grown up around darker haired and tanned skin individuals. Only royalty that stayed indoors were anywhere close to them.

(Arun has one blue eye and one green eye. I'll draw them at some point, but I figured pictures from the internet will do for now lol. Though, for Ivona more than Arun. He's my main character that I always use- with different names- so he has a more... specified, appearance.)
Ivona stood slightly behind her brother as she spoke, her expression cold, but when Malie came forward, she smiled. The queen seemed far more welcoming than her husband. "Thank you very much, you're highness," she said, giving another small curtsy to the king and then then queen.
Arun, meanwhile, had completely disregarded Kija until he was spoke of, falling guilty of the same mistake as many other nobles. He gave the boy a curt nod, and made to follow, giving Agnar- who had flopped down on the cool floor at the first opportunity- a quick tap on the head to indicate he should follow as well. The dog groaned as he got to his paws, quickly trotting after Arun and Ivona.

Ohh drawing them is a good idea! Maybe I'll get to drawing Kija)
Kija was silent only for a moment, as soon as they left the main room he looked over his shoulder at them "Is this your first time out of your territory? You don't look as if you get out often." that may have sounded rude, but he meant it as a genuine question. Kija could be a bit of a chatter box. Most found him irritating and would leave him to his own devices within a couple days. They could never complain either, he had done nothing wrong after all.
His falcon watched the dog "I think Mika is curious about your dog there. She's only met wolves, and that is rare in itself." their wolves and falcons had different jobs. "Don't worry about her doing anything. She won't make a move against anything unless I order her to do so." Mika main job was delivery. Almost everyone had one.

"W-we've been out of the kingdom a few times," Ivona replied rather indignantly, though Arun gave a wry smile. It would seem like that to him, wouldn't it? The differences in their skin and hair hadn't been lost on him, and he wasn't surprised the prince attributed it to them not going outside.
"I think Agnar is too tired to be curious," Arun replied when his dog was mentioned. The canine only trotted at his feet, his head down and tongue lolling. His eyes- different colors like Arun's, though the dog's were brown and blue- were glazed and unfocused. "I think he really needs water. The humidity is hard on him, since he can't just take off his layers like I can."

"You will have water in your rooms. I can have some servants bring in a bucket for the dog. It may be wise to cut his fur, you don't know how long he'll need to live in the heat." turned to the left he walked down some stairs. It got cooler as they got further down, though only by a little. Finally he stopped in front of a door. There was a door opposite of it "Here are your rooms. There are strings you can pull that will alert our servants and they will be down as soon as possible. Please ask them for anything you need."
"Lunch will be in two hours. Please join us upstairs." he bowed his head politely again and added "If there is anything else you need from me ask now." he wanted to go back outside. He had been in the middle of a hunt that had gone on for longer than expected. What he had been tracking may have been lost, but that didn't mean he couldn't find it again.

(Ah alright. See ya tomorrow. Perhaps I'll have a pic of Arun by then lol.)
"See, that's what I had said," Arun murmured to Ivona after Kija suggested cutting the dog's fur. "Thank you, we'll be sure to be washed up by then," he added louder to the other prince. "I don't think there's anything else we need, but I appreciate the inquiry. It's nice to meet you, Prince Kija. I hope we will get along in the coming days." He punctuated with a shallow bow; he would have gone to shake the boy's hand, but he didn't have any gloves on and disliked touching people he didn't know skin-to-skin.
"Yes, thank you Prince Kija!" Ivona echoed, curtsying and giving him a warm smile.

So sorry for my major poof!! This week had been hectic! Thank goodness for the weekend.)
Kija nodded and excused himself. They seemed nice enough, perhaps a bit distance but that was to be expected considering what they were going through. Mika ruffled her feathers and moved a bit on his shoulder. Smiling, Kija walked up the stairs and back to the main floor. Once there he walked outside and had Mika move to his arm, then he pushed her into the sky.
Next he went to report to his parents "They are settling in now. It looks like they will be joining us for lunch." his parents seemed pleased by this fact. They ordered him to get changed and wash up. Apparently going to a fancy lunch in his hunting clothes wasn't good enough. Though he knew arguing would do nothing. Instead he sighed and returned to his room to follow the orders he had been given.

(It's fine, I understand lol. Also, I honestly liked my concept for Dreisten so much that I made a different medieval/fantasy rp involving it, which you're welcome to join as well if you like. You can use the same kingdom and characters or make new ones, if you decide to join.)
Arun nodded to Ivona and went to his room, shutting the door after Agnar and leaning against it with a sigh. Then he scanned the room, noting its fine furnishings. Looks like they don't hold back here. The style of the architecture and furniture was drastically different from Dreisten, something he found both unsettling and intriguing. There was a lot more wood- most things in Dreisten were made of stone and metal- which made sense due to the abundance of the forest. It would be a lot easier here to simply cut down trees than to dig up stone and drag it through the forest. The opposite was true in Dreisten.
As he went over to his bed, where his saddlebags filled with his belongings waited, he also noticed the difference in the quality and texture of the fabric. This was light and smooth, looking to be plant-based, as opposed to heavy Dreisi linens which were made of wool or fleece and meant to keep in heat. These looked like they were more for decoration, and the comfort of simply having some kind of covering, than for keeping one warm.
How interesting that something as simple as temperature affects entire cultures this much, he thought as he unbuttoned his bag and began to go through the contents, making sure nothing fell out or was taken. Not that he thought that the guards would be so dishonest, but as suspicious as he was, he had to check. Finding that everything was in order, he took out the lightest pair of clothes that he owned: a vest made out of a soft black leather, which was actually meant to go over other clothes, and a pair of thin fleece pants that were meant to go under other clothes to conserve heat. Both would have to do for now- perhaps sometime in the next few days he would go into the city and see if he could buy local-made clothes more suited to the environment.
He quickly stripped down to his boxers and went to the wash basin in the corner, which was filled with cool, fresh water. Before washing himself, he scooped some out into the small bucket that sat next to it and called Agnar over. Then he rinsed his face, as well as his arms up to the shoulder, grimacing at the various bug bites that dappled them. After drying off, he put on the clothes he had taken out, as well as his boots, which were made of black leather and came up to about his knee. Like the rest of his clothes, they were made for the cold; in particular, walking through deep snow without it melting through one's pants leg. To hide his bites, he also donned a long pair of gloves- fleece like his pants, and black.
I suppose now I should wait for someone to fetch me, he thought, sitting down on his bed. After all, I've no idea where we're supposed to go for lunch, so I assume they'll send someone down.

Ohh sounds fun! I might be able to, but i'll have to see how my classes play out.)
Kija yawned and walked into the dining area. "Oh, Kija. Could you go and fetch Prince Arun and Princess Ivona?" his mother watched him from her seat at the table. She was dressed in a longer dress, something that could only be worn indoors or from horseback in their kingdom. His father was talking with the chef, and he was wearing a similar outfit to the one before. Nothing fancy, but it was nice.
"That's what we have butlers for." he muttered. The look from his mother sent him out of the room though. Sighing, he walked down the stairs and made his way to the double rooms. First he went to the princess' room. He hoped they didn't mind what order they were called upon, they were going to the same place after all. Briskly walking to the door he knocked on the door and said "Princess Ivona, lunch will be served soon." such formalities were nothing new to him. Kija found himself disliking the rigid formalities, but knew that knowing them would help in his ruling.
Kija was known throughout the kingdom as a lazy prince. He didn't see himself that way, and anyone who knew him would know that even if he was lazy at times he was good at making up for it with skill. Yawning again he stretched and waited for the princess to reply.

(sorry it takes me so long to reply. I am a humongous nerd and feel the need to research really mundane things like how they made fabric in medieval times to make sure that their clothing and such is periodically accurate. I apologize on behalf of my perfectionism lol.)
"Oh! I'll be right out!" came the reply. Ivona quickly finished brushing her hair and tied it into a loose ponytail before answering the door. She had changed into some of her own clothes, a neat white dress made of worsted yarn- heavier than the Phiryn dress she had had on before, but still cool enough for it to be manageable in the castle. The dress was straight in cut, meant to be worn under other clothing, so she tightened the waist with a narrow dark brown leather belt. Before answering the door, she also slipped on a pair of wool slippers meant to be worn indoors.
She gave Kija a shallow bow and a smile as she answered the door. "Thank you for coming to get us! I found the room most welcoming."

"We are glad to have you." Kija hummed. He felt much less still after chatting with Ivona for that brief moment. Waving for them to follow he led them through the halls. It wasn't too hard to find your way around the castle after a few days of being here. Due to the trees it was built smaller than most "In addition to the village around our castle, there is another in riding distance to the north. They are stationed by the lake that feeds many of the rivers around here. If you are still interested in seeing more we can head there."

Ivona nodded and smiled. "Yes, that sounds fun!"
"Perhaps in a few days, though," Arun put in with a glance at Ivona. "Our horses need to rest up, and so does Agnar. They've done a lot of walking the past week. And I wouldn't really feel comfortable on a Phiryn horse," he added with the hint of an amused smile. "They're so small. I don't think I would feel steady on one."
"Aw, alright," Ivona replied, looking somewhat downcast. "Good point, though. I wouldn't want to hurt Astrid by overworking her."

"I understand, though you would be surprised at how well our horses manage the uneven ground. They might be a more comfortable ride." Kija smiled over his shoulder. He wouldn't force them, but riding Phiryn horses would be more comfortable for them and less work for their horses. The ground could sometimes be hard to walk and run on for animals not accustomed to it.
They entered the main dining room and Malie waved them in enthusiastically "I'm am happy you decided to join us! How are the rooms? Are they comfortable enough?" she was bright eyed and curious.

"Yes, I have no complaints," Arun replied, bowing to the queen.
"Nor do I," Ivona added, curtsying again.
"Thank you again for your hospitality," Arun added, going to the table but allowing the hosts to sit first.
