Kitekit nodded and bounded after Mockingkit, the snow crunching under his paws, a cold wind blowing through his whiskers. Once they were out of earshot from camp he began talking img again. "Why haven't we ever snuck out before?! I know Larkstripe keeps a close eye on us, but really, we could've snuck out one way or another!" He purred happily.

Kitekit looked back. He could still see the camp, but it was small and he couldn't make out individual shapes. "I think so. It was green-leaf in the elders tails and the ground was muddy where the frogs leaped." He mewed and continued forward. There were different plants here, but they were dead so he wasn't quite sure. Suddenly, his paw hit something hard and he looked down to the the solid, milky green form of a dead frog. He flattened his ears and let out a little whimper. The elders never said anything about dead frogs! Maybe it was because of the cold?

Mockingkit let out a squeak of surprise, staring at the frog with a rather nervous look on her face. "Maybe one of the warriors caught it an' forgot about it," she suggested weakly, trying to look tough. She pawed at it, unsettled by the sliminess of it. The grey and white kit gave it an experimental sniff, but it smelt like nothing, the cold snow taking away any hint that the frog might be bad. She glanced at her clearly nervous brother berfore nudging him gently, "C'mon, let's go, unless you wanna eat it," she mewed, attempting to sound mischevious. (I wonder how long it will take for the clan to notice they are gone lol)

Kitekit pondered on her idea for a moment, snapped back to reality by her last comment. "Eww! That's crow-food by now, I'm no rouge!" He puffed out his chest to hide his uncertainty and slight fear before bounding a few tail lengths away, looking back at Mockingkit. "Race you to the nearest tree!" He purred, spotting one about five fox lengths away. Maybe it would be warmer in the nook of the tree's roots.
(Lol. Somewhere between sunhigh and dusk Larkstripe will check the elders den for them, silently freak out looking around the camp for them and by dusk every warrior will be out looking for them XD night)

" Last one there is crowfood," She cried out, trying to make it past the large snow, knowing she would probably lose. The white and grey she kit tried her best to make it over an icy root, but her paw got caught in it and the she cat tumbled, wincing as her paw hurt momentarily. Not wanting to be teased the she cat leaped back up, snow in her good eye, it shut as the cold water melted. Mockingkit hesitated, unsure which way to go now that the world was a blur. The kit stood there, shifting on her paws nervously, not sure where her brother was.

Kitekit ran toward the tree, making his biggest leap he could to make it over the icy root and to the trunk of the tree. He heard a stumble just behind him, but continued on until he was right at the base of the tree, putting his paw up against the trunk. He looked back to see a confused Mockingkit and confusion and worry clouded his face. "You okay Mockingkit? We can go back if your not feeling well." He mewed, remembering what Larkstripe had said, something about the snow and sickness.

"Yeah, I'm okay, but I can't see you," She mewed in confusion, looking around, trying to find where he was, assuming that Kitekit had a bad eye as well, thinking that all of her clanmates had one. She fluffed out her fur, not wanting to move until the ice melted off of her left eye, and trying to keep warm.

"I'm right here." He mewed uncertainly. Did he really blend into the snow that well? Couldn't she see the black stripes that marked a few parts of his pelt and his bright Amber eyes? He padded over and pushed up against her side reassuringly. "I haven't gone anywhere, but maybe Larkstripe was right and we should go back to camp," he mewed anxiously, confusion and worry written all over his face. She had one eye open, the other one frosty. He thought about licking it, but then the thought of her opening her eye and him licking her iris simply disgusted him, so he decided not to. "Once you're better let's climb up to a branch and try spot a bunch of stuff." He suggested, the bubbly feeling from earlier returning, excitement making his eyes glow.
